Is there any way to make my entire profile private? I get a lot of messages from people I don't know asking me to add them to my contacts list.

Unfortunately, there is none. Some account details are permanently set to public, while some to private or visible to contacts only. You can check which is which in the Skype >> Profile >> Edit Your Profile menu section.
These unwanted users who are sending you contact requests are usually scammers or spammers, which also unfortunately for us are very resourful persons. They may have a handful of ways to locate valid Skype usernames. For now, you may just need to ignore and block them. [Outdated information redacted.]

I don't think you can passcode protect your contacts. Have you thought of giving the numbers a false name/heading? Maybe something like Wal-Mart or pizza take out (or other nonsensical names having nothing to do with the actual contact)? If you want the numbers hidden regardless, I doubt that it's possible.
EDIT
Another idea is to have multiple contact sets and restore the set you want to use/have on your phone at any one time. There are contact backup apps to do this...one I use is called My Contacts Backup (free) which backs up your contacts to a file which you then email to yourself. Make multiple backups and then restore the set (after first deleting the previous set using the "delete contacts" option within the app) you wish to have on your phone. Restoring contacts involves tapping on the contact backup file (in VCard or CSV format) which will then restore them on the device.
Have you tried one of the apps that may help? Search the AppStore for "private contacts"...there seem to be a few free ones out there.

How do i make an entire layer linkable?

Hello guys
I have a very big animation with around 33 layers. Each layer goes on for around 50frames (using 10FPS) and they all have different content.
I would like to add a link to each layer, but so far i've only sucedeed in linking a single frame in each layer... Would like to know if it's possible to make the entire duration of the layer linkable.
Also, since there are so many layers, is it possible to make buttons that on click jump to the next/previous layer?

Layers are not Flash objects so you cannot link them. You can link what they contain. If you want to li8nk all of what is in a layer then you need to create it as a movieclip wherein the 50 frames it is comprised of are internal to the movieclip, on the movieclip's timeline.
I don't know what you mean as far as wanting to be able to have buttons that bring you from one layer to another. Layers are parallel entities so if you are in a timeline, you are in all of its layers simultaneously

Profile Manager deleted. Can't openFirefox. How do I make a new Profile.

I uninstalled Firefox on my desktop and deleted the Profile Manager by mistake. I've tried all the suggestions on the internet and can't get a new profile. Firefox works fine on mylaptop using Win7 but the problem is on my desktop using XP Prof. Keep getting error message that it can't find the profile manager.

How does Adobe make their camera profiles for ACR and Lightroom?

I'm not interested in the proprietary algorithms , but I am curious as to the photographic mechanics and hardware tools used by Adobe to make the various camera profiles as they differ markedly from the ones I make using the DNG Profile Editor.
My methodology is to set an X-Rite 24 patch Color Checker target, light it evenly with electromic flash (with 0.1 stops from center to corners as mesured with a Sekonic L-758r Meter) and make a series of exposures bracketed in third of a stop increments around the meter reading in case the camera sensitivity differs from the meter's.
I then process the raw files and convert them to the DNG format, select the best exposure and run it through the DNG Profile editor. My results differ from Adobe's generic profiles for that camera enough that that I don't thin kthe difference can be credited to the difference between a generic profile a specific camera.
How do the different tools work in the DNG converter? Starting with the Options for "Base Tone Curve"? Is there a document a moderately color geeky person can understand that explains this?
I thin kthe DNG Profile editor is a great and under usedtool. I wish more people knew about it.

Someone who only eats sausage may not want to know how it's made. Someone who creates things with food, a chef, a cook, or otherwise is thinking about a career in the food industry, might have a interest in such things. It would be nice for a sausage maker to give some hints about the process as compared to what each of us can do with the DNG Profile Editor and to the original poster's question, why are our profiles different from Adobe's?
It is my experience that when I create a profile with the DNG Profile Editor, and then compute the color error for each of the 24 color patches of a CC24, using a program like Imatest, some colors are quite a bit off and some are very close, and the colors that are off, are not the same ones that are off when I compute the color error using one of the Adobe Standard or Camera Standard profiles.
Is Adobe using more detailed and sophisticated color targets with hundreds of different colors, or if not, do the tools provide more feedback and allow more manual manipulation of the profile and so the differences are due to their judgement about which colors to make "right" and which ones to let have more error associated with them, that can be manipulated by hand instead of merely letting the DNG Profile Editor apparently distribute the error amongst the various colors with some sort of even-handed calculation.
For example it is easy to imagine that someone tweaking a profile by hand with a live readout of the error of each of the colors plus an overall composite error, might put more emphasis on skin tones being right if they have a background in people photography, or more emphasis on bright colors being right if their experience is in textiles and the current trend in the US is bright colors--and a different emphasis when the trend is muted colors so there is cultrual bias and life-experience coloring a "standard" profile.
In other words, how much of the difference between Adobe and our profiles are due to Adobe having different or better science, and how much of it is due to Adobe have different or better "artists" who decide what colors to make correct compared to others.

How can I make my Mozbackup profile valid for migration?

I have used Mozbackup to make a backup of my profile. I found my profile by clicking on Help, Troubleshooting Information. I copied the whole file to my Seagate that I'm using as an external hard-drive. When I tried to restore it using Mozbackup & the stored file to my new laptop, it consistently comes back with "That is not a valid file." What am I missing? Doing wrong? I have installed TB & Mozbackup on both my laptops. Also will I have to do something similar to get my Firefox info onto the new laptop. Thank you!

Mozbackup is not supported here. it is supported by it's author.
however mozbackup files are only zip files, and can be opened with any zip tool if you change the file extension to ZIp.
On your new laptop you can simply copy the contents of your old profile folder into the new one (With Thunderbird closed on both obviously) without using any tools at all.
Firefox is more sophisticated for moving. You just use Firefox sync which can be accessed from the toobar icon with three horizontal bars.

Are you in fact using 10.7.3? The article you link to was for a once-off problem after an upgrade to 10.6.3.
How did you make the custom profile? I would suggest deleting any non-Apple profiles, remake your profile, and see does it auto-load on boot.
If it doesn't, then immediately after boot run console.app and scan through the console messages from the boot process and see are any relevant ones being posted. Then repost your problem details in one of the 10.7 (Lion) forums.

Photos does not hide photos in albums at all. Photos can only be hidden from Moments, Collections, Years.
If you want private albums, move the photos in questions to a different Photos Library, that you keep hidden.
