How do I request a refund from the App Store?

I've recently downloaded the Sky Sports TV app from the App Store. It asked me to subscribe for £4.99 so I did. Then after trying to use the app, I was told that I need to subscribe... I tried subscribing a few times, and finally got the app working, but after checking with my bank this morning, several payments of 9.98 have been made. Not only is this the wrong price, but surely I should only be allowed to subscribe once?
I need a full refund for every payment made APART FROM the one payment of 4.99 for my subscription.

  • How do I get a refund from the app store?

I bought GarageBand from the app store and have tried loading it on my two mac computers one at home one at work. The home one will not download it at all - it keeps getting so far and then (helpfully) saying 'an error has occurred'. At work, it download the application but now it's saying it needs to download 1.6GB of extra data. This will not work. It keeps getting about half way and then failing (I've have tried maybe 10 times)
I'm not interested in trying any more - I don't have time and I'm disillusioned with the store. How do I simply get a refund (seeing as it doesn't work)?

  • How can I get a refund from the app store?

    Hi,
I bought an game from the app store for 4.99. The description was written to be completely misleading and misrepresentative of the product (BADASS DUCATI: Street Monster).
I notice the same developer has a number of apps. on the store following the same format. Also there are more under a different developer name.
I emailed apple for a refund. No response (disappointing). I emailed the developer. No response (no surprise). Surely apple must have some responsibility to ensure that apps are correctly represented in their store and, by taking a commission on the transaction, should take some ownership of the contract of sale?
Any suggestions how to get a refund? how to report these bogus apps so that apple can clean the shelves of rogue developers?
Regardless of the success of a refund,  to see the apps get pulled and the developer banned would at least demonstrate that apple care about their consumers and are not supporting the app store as a platform for conmen.

    There are no refunds.  Sorry.

  • How do i get a refund from the apple store?

how do i get a refund from the apple store. I hate the Final Cut Pro. I tried to contact costumer service and all it does is send me in circles

You need to let go of everything you ever knew about using editing software and look at few tutorials. After years of using Final Cut Express, I looked at FCPX and didn't understand it at all, but a few months later I finally decided to give it a second try knowing that it is an entirely different animal, and that I would have to start from scratch. I bought it, read a few tutorials, explored the menus, panes, functions, read this forum extensively, then tackled my first project. It took some diligence and patience, but I got it and I will never look back. My experience is that FCPX is far better than the previous Final Cut.

  • How do I remove unwanted updates from the App Store?

How do I remove unwanted updates from the App Store? So you understand better what I'm referring to:
I have the App Store icon in the Dock. When there's an update a red number appears on said icon. Well, I went to check on the updates and it's for 4 different applications I either no longer have or use. One of them is an update for Lion OS users. I'm still on Snow Leopard, so it doesn't even apply to me.
So there they sit... I'm not going to download the updates... so how do I get rid of them?

    Hi Andy ..
    no longer have or use
If there are updates available for apps you have deleted, try this.
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Move the Cache.db and Updates files from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, restart your Mac.
For any apps you still have installed but do not use, the updates will still be available from the Updates top of the App Store window and show on the red badge on the App Store icon in the Dock.

No need for a serial #.  You can copy the apps to another hard drive if you want.

How do you clear completed updates from the app store after downloading is complete on iOS 7.0.2?

You don't. It's how things are done now, likely to accommodate those that have auto update turned on.  IT's been said that the updates will just drop off after a period of time but  time will tell on that.

How to remove my credit card from the App Store

I used a pre-loaded credit card so when it ran out i had problems, primarily because it wont let me download or update anything until the "billing problem with the last transaction" was resolved. I dont really care if the purchase goes through but i want to be able to update stuff again and it wont give me the option to select 'none' under payment type. do i have to put another card on there just so i can "resolve the billing problem" and then i have  to take it off again or is there a way around this or is it a never ending cycle?

  • Getting a refund from the App store...

I need to compliment Apple on something.
I had problems with an application that I downloaded from the App store that was iWeb related. Couldn't get it to work, and when I followed the developers instructions, it still wouldn't work in Lion. It was brand new and I think they were still working on it.
I then, played around with the instructions and the domainsites file, as I thought I was expert enough not to screw things up.
Well, as I reconstruct my site, muttering to myself that I really should pay attention to that inner voice that warns me off tinkering with the inner workings of software, at least I don't have to worry about getting my money back.
Apple, quite reasonably, has refunded me and has contacted the developers regarding the problem.
The lesson to me was that if I ever again download anything that will change a domainsites file, I must, must make a copy, and put that copy in a folder far away from the original.
Having downloaded iWeb templates before without a problem, I figured it wouldn't be a problem this time.
Always, before downloaded a new template or whatever, make a current copy of your domainsites file and hide it away. That is my new rule for myself.

So true...if one can't afford to lose it one has to learn to back up one's system.
My problem is that I have only a couple of things on my iMac that are really critical, and I just copy them to an external HD, and trust to the fates for the rest.
But I forgot to do that for the domainsites file.
For the record, you are totally right...if one uses Time Machine for backup to a firewire drive, one can relax, mostly.

  • How to re-install Mainstage purchased from the App Store onto new drive

I recently purchased Mainstage 2.2.1 from the App Store. It automatically downloaded and installed the app onto my drive (not giving me a physical installer dmg, I guess this is normal). My system was slow so I decided to buy an SSD drive and install it in place of the Superdrive as a dedicated music drive. After installing Lion and booting from this new drive I went to the App store assuming I could simply re-install the app but there is no option for that. Does anyone know how I can do this?
    Thanks

Just just launch the Mac App Store, select the "Purchased" tab and download MainStage or any other application you already bought.

  • Refund from the app store?

I bought Pages last week from the App Store on my macbook pro last week, and I am not satisfied with it :/ Is there anyway to maybe return it and get a refund or store credit since I did not buy it in store???

    Hi,
I don't think so but you can email the Mac App Store Customer Support here.

  • How do I reinstall Compressor 4 from the App store?

I am at my wits end with C4.  I think it's a piece of junk and will not work.  I am now trying to reinstall it to see if that helps but I can't see how to do it since it came from the App store.  Please help!

Hi Andy, yep you can remove MAC app store apps as described in this thread. (maybe not need to though) Yes you just  ALSO manually go and remove these files/objects as well which pretty much does what a formal uninstaller would do... Yes... You COULD just manuall remove/delete these compress.app objects first...
    /Applications/Compressor.app
~/Library/Application Support/Compressor (this is where all your customised destination and settings are maintained)
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Compressor.help
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Compressor.LSSharedFileList.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Compressor.LSSharedFileList.plist.lockfile
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Compressor.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Compressor.plist.lockfile
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Compressor
oh and while your there you ought to get rid of ~/Library/Application Support/Apple Qmaster too!
Yeah you could do that and then you COULD go back to the MAC APP store and install it again (no purchase btw).
yes you could do all that and still end up with Compressor not working like you want.
BUT I WOULDN'T do it as a first response to locate and identify what is causing the issues your are experiencing.. fix those first......
I'd propose that you might look at a less drastic approach. Recently there has been some over xmas / new year activity on this Compressor forum that has identified failures and non functioning stuff in Compressor and Qmaster. THese issues are most likley limited to the particular workflow and environment.
Thus I'd propose you might begin simply by isolating and identifying the non functioning bits of compressor.app and your workflow and setup to those on this forum. Chances are that you will have it working sonner than later.
I'd further propose to you that if you looked throiugh ALL the items in the package contenntof /Applications/Comressor.app that you would NOT FIND ANY ITEM that has been modified recently that was not from a software update. In short, a reinstallation implies tha the .APP and relevant items have been corrupted somehow and need to be reinstated/fresh from an installation.
I'd also reckon that if you can post what particulaly doesn't work with Compressor.ap V4 and Qmaster V4 (if you use clusters) that someone or group on this firum can likely help ya out.
Yes its likley that ripping out Compressor.app V4 adn its associated structures I have identified above will likley let you initially use it. HOevere it is more than likley some state residual state information or some workflow item (a crook bit of source... who knows??) will likely lead you back to the situation you are in now.
AS been posted many times by various compressor.app V4 users on tis forum, you ought to look initially at the logs in:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Apple Qmaster/Logs
    /var/logs (via console.app)
There are some very 3rd party good tools for doing a lot of the "cleanout FCP SUITE stuff.apps". Chances are at this stage you dont need to go that route..
ANother positive reason for this approach is that you will gain an insight into Compress.app + Qmaster + Motion +FCPX marriage. You'll probbaly also turn soemthign up that is helpful to the rest of us. This happens a great deal me think!
Check out the logs above and also itemise what the issues actually are.
You could also search (trawl) this forum and also that at COW for compressor related issues. Choose wisey what you review as there is a lot if uinformed workarounds out there too..
Post your results so it may help others.

  • How can I download Mnt Lion from the App Store on a new Mac running Mavericks?

Greetings... We just purchased a new iMAC at work and need to remove Mavericks and move it backwards to Mnt Lion.
Some of our big apps like Esko Automation Engine Pilot arn't ready for Mavericks yet so we need to go back a version
    to obtain the compatibility.
When I access the Mnt Lion download via the App Store I get an error message (1004) stating that Mnt Lion can not
    be installed on this machine?
Any ideas on how I can make this happen?

  • HT204088 How do you find purchase history from the app store via your Iphone?

I believe my son has inadvertently made in app purchases which are adding up to a huge sum on my bank statement. I can not get in touch with the Itunes help folks to confirm what all these purchases are and can't find them via Itunes or the App store on my phone.
    Any advice?

Go to itunes --> on top nav, select app store --> Look for "purchased" on the right rail menu under APP STORE QUICK LINKS. That will take you to the "Purchased" page. You can search by "All" or by "Not on This Computer" (I looked something up on my comptuer... so I can also search what applications were downloaded from iPhone, another computer or iPad). The dates and prices of the apps are NOT listed there. Hope that helps.

  • How can I get a refund at the App Store when it isn't offered ?

Perhaps the Apple attack dogs will like this post better.
How do I get a refund for a costly app that, after requesting a refund, appears to not offer one? How does one know if an app meets one's needs unless you try it first?
This seems so obvious, and yet, I am shocked that Apple does not offer a trial or refund opportunity if even for 24-48 hours.
Is there another way to get a refund that I'm not aware of?

I repeat, the Apple policy is that all sales are final and after an app has been bought and downloaded, there are no refunds. Period.
The ONLY exception to the No Refund policy is if something freaky happens and you buy an app and between your purchase and attempt to download the app it is removed from the iTunes/MAS and is no longer available.
    PAYMENTS, TAXES, AND REFUND POLICY
You agree that you will pay for all products you purchase through the Services, and that Apple may charge your payment method for any products purchased and for any additional amounts (including any taxes and late fees, as applicable) that may be accrued by or in connection with your Account. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TIMELY PAYMENT OF ALL FEES AND FOR PROVIDING APPLE WITH A VALID PAYMENT METHOD FOR PAYMENT OF ALL FEES. For details of how purchases are billed please visit http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5582.
Your total price will include the price of the product plus any applicable sales tax; such sales tax is based on the bill-to address and the sales tax rate in effect at the time you download the product. We will charge tax only in states where digital goods are taxable.
All sales and rentals of products are final.
Prices for products offered via the Services may change at any time, and the Services do not provide price protection or refunds in the event of a price reduction or promotional offering.
If a product becomes unavailable following a transaction but prior to download, your sole remedy is a refund. If technical problems prevent or unreasonably delay delivery of your product, your exclusive and sole remedy is either replacement or refund of the price paid, as determined by Apple.
    https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/us/terms.html
If you have found a developer whose product you have purchased through the iTunes/MAS who will personally give you a refund, more power to you. That is beyond the scope of Apple's policy and between you and the developer only.
It's time to stop beating a dead horse and move along.
