How do I rotate an object in an animation?
I cant figure out how to make an object rotate in the animation (Without making a separate layer for each frame.)
Seems a bit of an odd question to ask... You bought it but you don't know what's in it?

How do you rotate an object to any angle
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. I am adding an object eg. square to the PDF file. I now want to rotate it to any angle, which I cannot do. I tried the help menu (TouchUp Object Tool) step by step and i am unsuccessfull. Please help.
Thank you George for helping
From Tools Menu. I selected customize toolbar, then selected rectangle tool from Comment and Markup Toolbar, then OK. Then from toolbar I selected the Rectangle and inserted it. I now need to rotate it.
I have not tried the flattenning method, but after reading the notes by flattenning it becomes part of the page and can no longer be edited which is not what I require. Note I only need to rotate the little square on the page to any angle and not in 90 degree increments.
The notes in the help topic (In Acrobat) on touchup object tool mentions it can be rotated incrementally, but when i follow the steps it does not work out. There is no handle to rotate the object.

How do I rotate an object 45 degrees at a time
I'm designing a simple online floor plan staging area and
need to be able to move and rotate (45 degrees at a time) simple
boxes. Literally picture squares on a white background that you can
move around and with the click of a button (perhaps by clicking a
small icon within each square) each square can be rotated at 45
degree increments clockwise.
At the same time, I need the option to duplicate a box on the
stage as many times as needed. (Is that even possible?) Basically,
the stage will start off with just 4 boxes, all different sizes.
From each of those boxes, perhaps simply clicking on an icon of one
of the boxes, a copy can be generated for placement within the
stage. You get the idea.
I already have the code down for movement within the stage
area....
on (press) {
startDrag(this, true);
on (release) {
stopDrag();
.... but need help with the rest. The way I have my objects
(boxes) set up is with each box as a button. The buttons are then
placed within a movie clip. The code above is attached to the movie
clip.
Hope I'm explaining everything correctly. Any help is greatly
appreciated!Bob, thanks for your advice - I appreciate your time and
effort. However, being that I'm a complete novice with ActionScript
I cannot seem to construct the code properly to get the desired
results as you are suggesting. I'm actually quite shocked that I've
even been able to piece together as much as I have - mostly from
posts on other forums (see the link in my previous post). You on
the other hand sound like a complete pro and something like this
would likely be second nature for you. I often find myself
explaining things to others as if they've been doing what I do just
as long as I. Its not until their eyes gloss over that I realize I
need to be much more specific and not so general with my guidance.
This is more what I need with this, more specific guidance so I can
fully understand just how what you are so generously suggesting
should be constructed.
Anyhow, I would very much appreciate any further assistance
you are willing to provide. It would be most appreciated if you
were willing to edit my code so I can see exactly where these
function go and how they are constructed - this is how I learn.
That said, your time is very important so if you have none
available I understand.
Thanks again Bob!

I am attempting to animate the rotation of an object using Photoshop CC Animation. However, unlike in previous versions where there was a "3D Object Position" layer on the Timeline that one would keyframe to change an objects position within the scene; the sublayer "3D Object Position" does not exist in CC. I have attempted to change an objects rotation by keyframing the "Position" sublayer resulting in no change what so ever. I have attempted to change an objects rotation by keyframing the "3D Meshes" sublayer resulting in the object rotating clear off the scene and not following the coordinates that I type in. This is very frustrating since something like this use to be so easy!! How do I animate the rotation of an object using Photoshop CC?!
Which version of CC and have you install the updates?

OO Graphic Engine, how to add Rotation?
I'm trying to program a simple GameEngine, so far I've created a gameloop (doing stuff, render stuff and wait)
Now I want to add to the rendering process a way to rotate every single object with a different angle
my object would looke like this:
public class GameObject {
double angle;
public int x,y;
public Image picture;
public MOB(Image pic, int x, int y, double angle) {
this.picture=pic;
this.x = x;
this.y = y;
this.angle = angle;
}and my graphic engine should now paint those objects (pictures) at x/y and rotated, and there lies my problem.
how can i rotate the objects without rotating the whole panel? do i have to use a buffered image?
and last but not least, is this method efficient?
thx for helping
GhleyTake a look at the AffineTransform class and the Graphics2D methods rotate, scale, translate etc. Worry about efficiency if you come up against a performance issue. Micro-optimization seldom helps, and can sometimes be deleterious.
a way to rotate every single object with a different angleThe method create (inherited from Graphics) can be useful here.
Remember that angles in Java are in radians, not degrees. The Math class has a static method that could be useful there.

I can't figure out how to rotate an object in Adobe Muse. I want an object to be half a bubble off plumb.
Hi ,
You can rotate an object in Muse by using the Transform toolbar and selecting the rotation angle. Please refer to this screenshot :- http://prntscr.com/52vtux
However, if you want to create a circular looking object , then all you need to do is, set the corners as Rounded, Make the Height and Width Equal and then increase the corner radius. This would give you the desired result.
Please refer to this screenshot :- http://prntscr.com/52vu9n
Hope this helps

HT4641 How do I rotate objects and text ?
I do not know how to rotate my document too change to landscape . Want 11.5 x 8 . Thanks, Bill
You don't rotate the document on an iPad; you can rotate the objects on the document.
That said, you can't rotate in-line text and headers and footers, only text boxes and images/shapes.
To rotate the document, you will need to export it to a Mac and change the orientation there in Page Setup. The iPad document setup is lacking this feature.

How to rotate 3D objects around the edge of another 3D object
Hi everyone:
I am trying to create an image of a human finger with 3D picture control, but in a simpler way. I intended to use three square boxes which are created by using Create Box VI.. Then I use Translate Invoke Node to line them up one after another. Then, I use Rotation Invoke Node to manipulate the rotation of the second and the third box. But, here are the problems.
The first problem: How can I rotate the second box(Green box) around the edge of the first box(Red box), so that when the green box rotates, it doesn't overlap with the red box. I want it to be the same with the blue box, so that the blue box rotates around the edge of the green box.
The second problem: At the moment, the third box(Blue box) is rotating around the origin of the first box(Red box), how can I change it so that the blue box rotates around the edge of the second box(Green box).
I have attached the VI to this post. Please could anyone help me.
Thanks very much
Tommy Yip
Attachments:
Original design.vi 26 KBHi Tommy,
To get rid of the overlapping boxes one thing you could alter the position of the green box as the angle is increased, the green box could move right on its X axis and rotate on the XY plane so it bevels round the red box in accordance with the angle you give. This would require some playing around however to get the values just right.
Have you had any success or updates since your first post?

How do i partially rotate an object??
hi people,
i'm having trouble rotating an object - i can make it rotate
fine but i can not make it rotate 90 degrees.
i essentially want it to turn 90 degrees anti clockwise and
then stay there - all i can manage to do is make it rotate 1 full
rotation minimum.
is there any way i can make it rotate a quater of a rotation.
haven't been able to find any help on this so far.
thanksThis is an animated roatation right? Hard to tell if you want
to rotate an object in the flash
authoring environment.
I assume it is animation so:
1. Keyframe 1 symbol is in its original position
2. insert keyframe 2 somewhere down the timeline
3. rotate your symbol 90 degrees
4. apply motion tween.

How not to rotate relative to the object?
hi,
currently i am rotating transformgroups like this:
Transform3D currenttrans = new Transform3D();
objTrans.getTransform(currenttrans);
Vector3f currentVector = new Vector3f();
currenttrans.get(currentVector);
currenttrans.setTranslation(new Vector3f(0,0,0));
objTrans.setTransform(currenttrans);
Transform3D rotateclockwise = new Transform3D();
rotateclockwise.rotX(-Math.PI/10);
currenttrans.mul(rotateclockwise);
currenttrans.setTranslation(currentVector);
objTrans.setTransform(currenttrans);But that does not feel right. It always rotates relative to the object. But I want to rotate it relative to the universe (or to my view).
That means I for example: I want to be able to rotate the object like a head that looks to the right, no matter what its current state is. This means in my example: If the "head" is currently "looking down" then it should still look down at the same angle after I rotated it to the right.
I hope u understand (its hard to explain without pictures).To find where any node is relative to the rest of the universe you can use it's getLocalToVworld method. That should save you a bit of extraneous calculation at least.

How do I rotate a PDF that I dropped into a Pages document?
I got a PDF off the internet that is just what I need. But it is orientated incorrectly. So, how do I rotate it in my Pages document?
OR, if this is not possible, how can I rotate individual lines of text within my Pages document so that the correspond with the PDF?
Can I do this simply by using the Pages toolbar? I honestly don't know that I am capable of downloading a program off the internet, as I have tried this before for other things and the process has always gone +very awry+. Any SIMPLE solutions would be appreciated, as I am very challenged when it comes to using computers.
Thank youHi Tom,
Some late comments that may help.
I went to the link in your post and opened the pdf file in Safari. Judging by the icons for the available controls, Safari was using the Adobe Reader plug in, which does will display thumbnails of the original pages, but will not allow you to select or copy a single page.
I went File > Save as, and saved the pdf file to the desktop, then opened the file using Preview (control click or right click the file icon and choose Open with > Preview.
Preview displays the page thumbnails by default, allows you to select a single page by clicking its thumbnail, and allows you to Copy that selected page.
Which is what I then did.
I scrolled to Page 16, clicked on the thumbnail to select it, pressed command-C to copy.
I then went to Pages, where I had already created a new document from one of the Blank word processor templates.
I clicked in the document, then pressed command-V to paste the copied page into the document. It pasted (as expected) as an Inline object, so I went to the Format bar (above the page) and clicked Floating to change the pasted (and still selected) drawing to a Floating object.
Then I opened the Inspector and chose the Metrics Inspector (ruler icon).
At the bottom of the Inspector window, I changed the 0 in the Rotate Angle box to -90, then pressed tab to effect the change.
In the Size section, I checked that the Constrain Proportions box was checked, then used the stepper controls on one of the Size boxes to resize the drawing to fit the width of the page. As the proportions were constrained, this also adjusted the height of the drawing. While adjusting the size, I also used the steppers of the X and Y position boxes to position the drawing where I wanted it.
Finally, to ensure that text did not slip under (or over the face of) the drawing, I switched to the Wrap inspector and selected one of the Wrap buttons.
The keys here are to make sure the object remains selected through the whole process (or is re-selected if it becomes unselected), and to make sure you are working with a Floating object (the drawing) rather than an Inline object.

How to code a "tween" object moving like in Flash?
As you may know in Flash the user can easily implement movements (including rotations) of objects by so called "tweens".
The developer defines e.g. the start and end position of a picture and how many rotations should
be applied and Flash generates the moving itself automatically. Thats nifty.
How can I implement this in Flex?
Peterhi,
you can do tweening in flex programatically using mx.effects.Tween class.Serveral Different kinds of tweens are also available in mx.effects package.
here is quick start for adding tween effects in flex http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/quickstart/adding_effects/

Swinging/Rotating an object in AE 5.5
Hi all,
I have a question about something that I am trying to achieve in AE5,5.
I have a clip that I would like to 'rotate' into the frame and was wondering how I could do this. If I might explain:
If you can imagine the action of a clapperboard, you might have an idea of the effect I'm trying to attain.Essentially, I'd like the clip to start offscreen on the right hand side of the frame, At this point, the clip would be rotated 90 degree clockwise. Over the a next couple of seconds, I'd like it to 'crash' down into the frame, rotating around the lower, right corner so that it ends up filling the frame and the correct way up :-). I thought it would be fairly easy to do this with a few adjustments around the anchor points but I seem to be having no luck as whenever I move the anchor point, the entire clip seems to move rather than just adjusting the point at which I'd like it to rotate.
What am I missing??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Sean:-) Ah, I've been rumbled!! To be honest, I come from a straight video editing background and am just starting to get to grips with AE. I have just cracked open the Classroom-In-A-Book this week and (naively) thought that it might be something I could achieve simply by changing the anchor point from which to rotate the object around. Seems like I was slightly off track - maybe I should have perservered with the book before I tried!
Many thanks for the replies - I will certainly have a look at the blog post you mentioned and will see how I get on. From what I've seen so far, AE looks like it's going to be keep me occupied for many, many months to come. I'm looking forward to it!
thanks again,
Sean
