How do I run a windows pps program on my Iphone

How do I run a windows pps program on my Iphone?

I take you are asking about Microsoft Powerpoint here.
If so it can't by run on an iPhone since there is no iOS version of Powerpoint available.
A search of the App Store in iTunes will reveal that are bunches of apps that will work with Powerpoint on the iPhone.

You can use bootcamp to install windows natively on the hard drive.  You then choose which OS you wish to use at startup - OS X or Windows.
You can also install Windows in a virtual machine - Parallels or VMWare Fusion - and run it simultaneously with OS X (a virtual machine is just a PC emulated in software, and you install and run windows in the emulated machine hardware).

You will need a licensed copy of Windows 7, and I recommend VMFusion. You can run the program in Unity mode just as if it were a Mac application. Or, you can install Windows in Bootcamp and run the Mac in Windows when you boot and run it that way. Depends on the resources. I prefer the VM method because it is cleaner and gives you more options as far as backups, etc.

    genepaquin,
the last MacBook Pros that supported installing Windows XP in a Boot Camp partition are the Mid 2010 models. If your MacBook Pro is newer than that, and you don’t have a newer version of Windows to install into a Boot Camp partition on your MacBook Pro, then you might consider an alternative such as running Windows with the help of programs such as VirtualBox or Parallels Desktop rather than through Boot Camp.

Have your cake and eat it too!   With the Intel Macs, you can run windows in a virtual machine.  You will need our own copy of Windows.
    Don't miss the free VirtualBox.

You must have an Intel machine.  If it is new new, verify that you have Lion OS and you should post over here:

How do I sync with windows mail contacts with my iPhone 4S?  I want to move my email contact information from Windows Mail to my iPhone 4S

You don't need Outlook to sync contacts. You do have Windows Contacts available which is a supported address book application for syncing contacts with the iPhone.
Windows Live Mail is not an email client. Windows Live Mail is an email account that can be accessed via webmail access using a browser or with an email client such as with Outlook or Windows Mail on a PC.
You can export your Windows Live Mail contacts from your Windows Live Mail online address book for import into the Windows Contacts address book application on your PC which is supported for syncing contacts with your iPhone.

  • How do you run a Windows PC based program on a MacPro

Can someone advise on how I can run a program designed for a windows PC on my Apple Macbook Pro.

Use Boot Camp Assistant, the PDF Guide and FAQ and there is a Boot Camp forum.
Along with that, you might just use a virtual OS of Windows like VirtualBox from Oracle or buy VMware Fusion. But you need Windows usually (Crossover Mac covers a few programs).

Holly **bleep**, are these Windows Phone customers SO Naive? This is ridiculous.
Don't they investigate products before buying them?  I mean it's not that microstf deludes ppl into saying that Windows Phone equals Windows Mobile.
I suspect the first part (Windows) is causing the confusing. They should change the its name to create a seperate entitiy like they did with XBox. A Zune-Phone (Z-Phone with zOS) or something else.
Particularly since there aren't any 'windows' at all. It's all 'tile-' based.

  • I have a MacBook Vers 10.6.8. I want to run a Windows design program, how do I do it?

I have a MacBook VER 10.6.8 and I want to run a Windows sewing design program. I read something about a windows emulator. Can you help?

There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
    1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD,and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
    2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    3. VM Fusion and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
    5. VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VMFusion.
    6. Last is Q. Q is a freeware emulator that is compatible with Intel Macs.  It is much slower than the virtualization software, Parallels and VM Fusion.

  • What is the most reliable way to run one Windows accounting program in Osx 10.5.8?

I have a simple Windows application where I basically do my accounts. I do not want to tie up my Imacs resources with running a full Windows Os "emulation" like Paralells or VMware Fusion just to run a simple accounting program.
I have heard about apps that can run one windows application at the time through a kind of Osx Application which emulates windows some how. Is is true that this is a better way of running my accounting program? Is it reliable? What I do is to punch in invoices and print out reports basically. How much resources does this "consume" to run it in "one simple application mode" in comparison with for example Paralells?
And what is the term for running windows in "one simple application mode"?

I guess you could try the free trial of CrossOver. http://www.codeweavers.com/products/crossover/ You did not say what app you want to run so it is difficult for us to recommend crossover as being able to run the app.
But your question is that you are looking for the "most reliable" way to run a Windows program. In my opinion you need Parallels or Fusion. These run the real Windows OS so my thinking is it is the "most reliable" method of running a Windows app on an Apple computer, other than Boot Camp.
But you said you don't want Parallels. This is probably why you have not received any responses. You eliminated the most reliable and easiest method, in my opinion, when you initially posted. Parallels does not consume any resources until you start it up to use your app. You can close it after you are done with your app. Of course hard drive space is required for storing the OS, your app, and data. But you still need to store your app and data regardless of method you choose.
One more thing, Parallels and Fusion create a virtual machine for running Windows.
So my recommendation, use Parallels or Fusion.

  • How do I run a Windows virtual machine?

I have a program for my research (Scigress) that only runs on Windows. I would like to be able to run the program on my Mac, I assume the best way to do that is to run a virtual machine. I don't want to run Windows all the time, since I strongly dislike Windows. Is there a way to do this in which I can turn Windows off as soon as I'm done with that program? What would be the best way to do this, or the best app to use? I have a 2009 Macbook with Lion installed.

I apologize, dragon. I didn't fully read your post well before opening my mouth. Sorry, "the ADD" has me (even as a grown man).
You have really two fundamental choices here on where you could take this. My primary concern above all would be "how resource intensive is this Windows software"? I mean, is it like a CAD or other 3D modeling app or otherwise just... monster? Working in the tech field I have seen CAD programs opening a complex drawing nearly bring say... a dual Xeon, 16GB RAM, 2-4GB of VRAM with cards in tandem (Crossfire or SLI in the PC world, I don't know if it's called the same over here)... but it would literally freeze these beasts of workstations solid for 5-20 minutes while opening and rendering some of these mind-blowing CAD drawings (talented guys, no way I could manage to create some of those 3D models of such just... complexity... in a virtual environment).
So-- with that being said, that's worst case scenario on the software. That would pretty much really cripple your luck with virtualization/emulation of a guest OS (that is, the operating system that is running "under the command") of the main one you're running.
If the program is not that kind of one, it would certainly be more convenient to you to just literally almost open "Windows" like it's just another app, literally... and close it/shut it down as soon as you're done, leaving your other OS X desktop work up and running.
If it *is* going to be a resource hog, then your second option is Boot Camp, which I'm sure you've heard of... You basically split the hard drive (partition it) into two segregated areas of storage and literally you can run either/or and utilize the full power of the machine this way, as you're not sharing CPU/memory. The downside, as sort of mentioned-- is that you have to boot into one or the other, it's not a "program" like the other is, almost; so you'd have to "shut down" or use the little utility app at least to reboot into OS X.
Think about your circumstances and take a look at that article comparing or also research Allan's suggestion, that is a new one to me. That will at least get you familiar with what the "experience" of virtualizing operating systems is like... then let us know what you think is best and we can go from there and help you. Sorry about jumping the gun earlier. Hope I made up for it with an abundance of information at least the second time...

    I have Windows 7 and FireFox 24.0
I am trying to make a standard Microsoft Media Video file .MWV run. When I click on the video link to plant the video I get a message saying I need a plugin to run the file.
I have already run in the install program at the link below. This install program named wmpfirefoxplugin.exe does not install anything into my FireFox plugins list or Extensions list.

When else can I try to make FireFox run a .MWV file?

hello, please try this: enter '''about:config''' into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''plugins.load_appdir_plugins'''. double-click it and change its value to '''true''' (a restart of the browser might be necessary afterwards for the change to take effect).

The target system also needs to have the correct LabVIEW runtime engine installed. It can be installed seperately or included with the installer that you create for the executable.
