How do I seek to a specific point in a mp4 (locally)

Hi,
I have an air destop project that displays local mp4 videos.
But Sometimes I want the video to play from a specific position for example 5seconds in.
Im just not getting anywhere trying to manipulate the the netstream.
I want to start an mp4 playing from a specific position.
so for example ive tried this...
stream.play(videoURL);
stream.pause();
stream.seek(30);
stream.resume();
This doesnt work though the playback just starts from 0 seconds like it normally would.
Any ideas?
Thanks

You can just specify the seconds to start at with play(),
e.g.:
stream.play('mp4:videos/myvideo.mp4',30);
Playing locally you still do need to make sure the file is loaded to that second before you seek to it. Seeking progressive without a media server will also only seek to keyframes. It's an expensive operation.
In normal seek mode, you cannot start the video at a point between the keyframes.

  • How can I link to a specific point and zoom in a public GIS Flash map?

    I have been given the url for a county map that is presented in an interactive Flash document.
    http://68.156.95.45/newberrygis//#1
    Client would like me to focus in on their specific development, which requires panning the map and zooming in.
    How can I find a query string that will help me to do that?

    The functionality of the GIS map was important. I was given the email for the person in charge of the map, who helped me out. It appeared that he was able to outline the road in the neighborhood that I needed to focus on. That provided a parcel ID, which in turn made it possible to focus in on the proper area. This is supposition on my part; perhaps he has other info that gave him the parcel ID.
    I agree with Ken...I'm not a huge fan of Flash on other than desktops and laptops, but it is what it is, client needs to use it, I need to help the client out!

  • How do I zoom to a specific point on a page

    My first question ever to support:
    WIndows 7 - Firefox 32.0.2 - Laptop without touch screen or touch pad (mouse and keyboard only)
    I have found lots of ways to Zoom on a page. However, zoom always anchors to the top left. I would really love to zoom to the position of the mouse pointer. Usually I am focused on a specific piece of the content and not the whole page.
    Is this possible? Thanks everyone.

    hello, i don't think that this is possible currently (or that there are any addons that would provide this functionality).
    however, it sounds like a nifty feature though when you use the gestures involving the mouse to zoom - you might want to file an enhancement bug at bugzilla.mozilla.org about that...

  • How to discover text objects with specific point size

    Can I somehow narrow down the selection to point size xx and smaller? I'd like to outline those objects later.
    var alltxtObjsBelow10 =  app.activeDocument.stories.everyItem() //...with point size smaller than 10pts
    alltxtObjsBelow10.createOutlines();

    Try this.
    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    var texts = doc.stories.everyItem().textStyleRanges.everyItem().getElements();
    for(var i=0;i<texts.length;i++)
        if(texts[i].pointSize < 10)
            texts[i].createOutlines();

  • How do I print from a specific point in booklet

    Hi, cannot work this out. I have printed the first two spreads of a book then on the third spotted a mistake as it was coming out so cancelled printing.
    For the life of me I cannot make indesign understand I want to print from the third spread which is in effect page 5 of the document. If I say to print from page five to 8 the preview shows the in correct order for booklet printing, neither can I specify spreads to print.
    Any ideas?

    I don't think that's going to help with Print Booklet. As I read this, the OP wants to impose the entire file, but print only the third and onward imposed spreads to save a sheet of paper.
    As far as I know, Print Booklet just isn't sophisitcated enough to do this. Normally you would select the page range to print in the print dialog, which you access from Print Booklet by clicking the Print Settings button (this is where you set page size and orientation), but the page range is not accessible from Print Booklet. I think the only options are to either reprint the whole bookleet, or print to PDF and use Acrobat or Reader to print the selected spreads.

  • Zoom into a specific point on a clip

    How do I zoom to a specific point on a clip or picture?
    Whenever I try to use this feature it just goes to the centre of the clip.
    Thank-you.

    Make sure Image + Wireframe is selected in the Canvas:
    Select the clip you want to zoom in on and reposition on the timeline by clicking on it. Once it is selected on the timeline, the turquoise box and cross hairs should appear in the canvas.
    If you click and drag on one of the boxes on the corner, you can resize your image:
    And if you click and drag on the image itself, you can change the clips position:
    You may need to change the canvas display scale to see the handles after you zoom in:

  • Jumping to a specific point in a clip

    How can I jump to a specific point/frame in a clip? Example: I know a clip is exactly 3:40 long. How could I go to 3:37?
    Thanks.

    If you have the clip loaded in the Viewer window and the Viewer window highlighted, it will take you to that point in the clip, if you have the Timeline highlighted, it will take you to that point in the Timeline. You can also save a few keystrokes by just hitting "3.37." to skip to 3 minutes and 37 seconds, for example.

  • On my Mac Pro how can I get voiceover to start reading at a specific point on a document?, on my Mac Pro how can I get voiceover to start reading at a specific point on a document?

    On my Mac Pro how can I get voiceover to start reading at a specific point in a document, and then continue on to the next paragraph and so on?  Thank you.  Ed

    Welcome to the Apple family!!!!
    How can I cause the VO cursor(box) show-up/start?
    Press Control-Option and F5.   The F5 key is located on the top row of keys 6th key over.  This is a toggling "Keyboard Shortcut" for turning VoiceOver on and off.
    How can I move the VO cursor to various sentences or paragraphs of an article and have it start reading ... and perhaps even continue reading on to the next paragraph(s) ... even to the end of the article?
    How to read a website with VoiceOver
    Step 1:  Go to the Website
    A quick keyboard shortcut is Command-L.  This will jump you up to the address bar.  Start typing where you want to go.  i.e "www.thewebsite.com"
    Step 2:  Working with Webpage
    VoiceOver will automatically start reading the website.  You can pause the speech by hitting the 'Control Button'.
    If VoiceOver does not being reading the webpage, then you might have to "Interact" with it.  If VoiceOver say "HTML Content" then press Control-Option-Space-Down Arrow to interact with the webpage.
    Use Control-Option-Right Arrow to move throught the website.  This will speak "EVERYTHING" on the page.
    Most website that I've found have their articles labeled as 'Heading'.  You can jump from heading to heading, by pressing Control-Option-Shift-H.
    If you'd like an itemized alphabetical listing of the site, press Control-Option-I
    Press Control-Option-Space on the link or article you want to view.
    Step 3.  Reading from Top to Bottom
    Once you found and clicked on the the article/link, use the same 'Heading' command, Control-Option-Shift-H to find the title.
    After finding the title, press Control-Option-A will start reading from the title on.
    Note:  If there are any other items (ads, pictures, etc) it will read those too.
    Tip:  You might be able to activate a feature called the 'Reader'.  The Reader isolates the article and elimanates the ads  The keyboard command is Shift-Command-R.  You can also find it in the Menu Bar (Command-Option-M) under the word 'View' then 'Show Reader'.
    I am using a MACPro with OSX, probably Mavericks 10.9 (where would I look to see if that is the correct information?)
    You can find this information under the 'Apple menu' in the Menu Bar.  To access the Menu Bar, press Control-Option-M.
    Go to Apple Menu > About This Mac.  This will open up another window.  Use Control-Option-Right Arrow until you hear 'Version'.  If you purchased it brand new from Apple within the last six month, more than likely you have Mavericks.

    The  'Commands Help' Voiceover Menu. Control-Option-H-H.  (hit H twice)  is my best friend.  It's a searchable VoiceOver Menu with most of the VoiceOver command.  Example:  You are looking for the 'Read Current Paragraph' keyboard command.   Press Control-Option-H-H and then type Paragraph.  It will then bring up all the commands with the word paragraph.  I believe there are three.

  • How do I move video clips to specific points on a music track in iMovie?

    I am trying to make a lip synch video and need to move my video clips to specific points on a musci track so that the words are in time with people singing - does anyone know how to do this? At the moment, I only seem able to put the clips in one after the other...

    Hi
    IMovie is Video clip oriented - meaning that Audio can not be put in first and video/photos added later.
    So to do this I use black photos that I fill up the Video with first
    Then Add audio
    Then add Video/photos by Cutaway function or exact replacement (in time).
    This is so much easier in any version of FINALCUT where one can build Audio first then create the video ontop of this.

    I have a project on Imovie with pinned audio to the project. I want to know how to stretch the audio to a specific point of the song?

    See this Tutorial for how audio works in iMovie. In general, you drag the left or right edge of your audio clip.
    You can also use the Clip Trimmer. Click the Gear icon in the music track and select the Clip Trimmer.

  • How to rewind to a specific point?

    I have a 30 gig. Ipod on which I like to listen to audible.com books. I just got a new Nano. On my 30 gig Ipod, I can rewind or fast forward to a SPECIFIC point of the book, not just to the very beginning or to the end. I can't seem to do this with the Nano, which allows me to go only to the very beginning or to the very end. What am I doing wrong? Thanks so much in advance.

    Whilst listening to the audiobook, and the iPod is in the 'Now Playing' screen, press the centre button once. A small diamond will appear in the time scroller ad the current time point. Just use the scrollwheel to get to the time where you want to listen to.
    Hope that helps

  • How to do to add a specific BAPI WBS Check betteen 2 systems  via ALE

    I am on the module TRAVEL MANAGEMENT (FI-TV) into the sap system DTM version ECC5 (for expenses). I wish communicate with the SAP system R/3 DGI version 4.6C via ALE and BAPI.
    When I create the expense in DTM, I put a WBS and I want to do severals checks via ALE into the system DGI.
    I have implemented the note 516109 into DGI to instal the bapi "BAPI_PROJECT_EXISTENCECHECK".But the link doesn't work from DTM to DGI.
    Please could you help me ?
    Other point : How to do to add a specific Bapi to check
    WBS? I didn't found USER EXIT.
    Thank in advance.
    Odile Dougnac

    Did you set your distribution model correctly ?
    You need to add this BAPI in ALE distribution model between your two systems.
    You need also to create one defaut destination for the remote logical system (this is done in SALE) because the BAPI uses RFC destination, not IDOCs

  • Adding static images to map at specific points in time

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a power map animation and I am having difficulties figuring out how to go beyond simply animating the data over time.  let's say I want to add a little image of the space needle in Seattle when the animation gets to the point in
    time when it was built.  Obviously, I will be in the process of animating my normal data when this image gets added.  Also, if you know of any tutorials that might be relevant please mention them.
    Thanks,
    Bob

    You can add static images at a point in time and these are done by adding an annotation to a specific point that is plotted on your map.  Once you pause the tour at a specific time you might want to add a scene to the tour and then add your annotation.
     In order to add an annotation you will need to select the point and then right-click and select 'Add Annotation'.  You will then be able to add a title along with either text, a field from data set, or an image.  At this point you can continue
    to plat the tour and/or add another scene and continue to build out your tour.
    Check out this article on inserting annotations to Power Maps for additional information
