How Do Oracle CPU's Work In Detail

I tried to answer this question for my boss today to no avail. I've always understood that CPU's are cumulative (since the documentation says so) and an installation would generally go like so : (ex.) 10.2.0.4 ---> July CPU ----> Done. He's convinced that we have to apply every CPU from the time 10.2.0.4 was released and I'm beginning to doubt myself. The reason he's convinced is because on one occasion we skipped a CPU (JAN 2010) and the April CPU complained about missing some bug fixes between Oct and April (which we manually added). Why would it complain about something in between if it is supposed to be cumulative? Does anyone know exactly what goes on with the binaries? I've tried looking online and using oracle documentation. A link or a source would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am quite confused and uncertain of how the above mentioned feature works in iOS 7.1.
For some apps, e.g. Geonfency, I understand this functionality has to be enabled to ensure proper GPS tracking in the background (meaning the app is not open and therefore not in the app switcher).
But what about Google Maps, why does this app need background refreshing? Does it mean Google is constantly tracking my location?

That's for a different reason. Not for battery life, but to allow iOS to perform "garbage collection" on RAM. How do you get Oracle 8i to work with j2sdkee 1.3 B

I had the j2sdkee1.2.1 working with Oracle 8i and I had the following line in the ~conifg/default.properties files
Here's what worked:

You are right. It seems the format has changed.
However, now there is and admin tool that comes with J2EE SDK 1.3 Now you don't have to touch the config file by hand.
You can use this tool to get the configuration done.
To add JDBC driver the command is...
j2eeadmin -addJdbcDriver oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
and to add a data source the command is...
j2eeadmin -addJdbcDatasource jdbc/Oracle jdbc:oracle:thin@rtc:1521:acct

If I understand your qn correctly you are asking about a writing pen ?
Lets say it has parts like pen body,refill,top and cap all these items will have ''buy souricng rules''.
Based on demand for the end item ''Pen'' AsCP will explode BOM for the Pen and suggest supplies as planned orders for the components , which can be converted to Std PO or BPA release automatically. All that MRP module could be of use to you is to define Forecast demand for the item.

We're encountering an issue with installation of Oracle AIA at step 4. This when providing the SOA Server Details, and the managed server shows:
"Cannot Connect to Server" error.
However at the weblogic console, the Admin server and manage server: soa_server1 are running. Please provide us help on this.
For further details, here are the apps and versions we installed:
* Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g
* SOA suite
* Oracle AIA 11g
* Weblogic 10.3.4.0

ICR: how do assignments work in detail?

maybe somebody can help on how the setup of ICR assignment rules works in detail:
1. question on customized rules:
We have a couple of rules in place, but rules being more complicated than just one condition or a combination of "="-conditions of fields always populated sometimes produce unexpected results.
E.g. it seems that condition "orgunit field X = partner field X" is false for empty fields as long as this is the only condition in a rule, but becomes true for empty fields as soon as there is a 2nd condition (since support package 60306, before implementing it this condition apparently was always false for empty records).
And it seems that condition "orgunit field X = partner field Y" (with Y <> X and not being the only condition) is false when comparing records in different companies, but gets true when comparing records within the same company.
Furthermore it seems that the behaviour of conditions with operator <> has also changed since support package 60306.
Is there any documentation of the ICR assigment logic which is such detailed? The one in OSS note 1164059 is not.
2. question on rules implemented in BAdi FB_RC_ASSIGNMENT:
Can anyone provide an example implemetation assigning records?

Re #1: I think it would be helpful if you could provide an example. Basically matches on initial values only are ignored (otherwise all documents where no reference number is posted will be assigned to each other - which would not make any sense). But if your rule has more than one condition and the other fields are not initial and are a match then the assignment is made.
Re #2: If you want to create assignments you simply have to move the corresponding data records from CT_ORGUNIT_UNASSIGN and CT_PARTNER_UNASSIGN to CT_ASSIGN_DIFF or CT_ASSIGN_NODIFF. Also, you have to populate the field GRREF (hint: look at the call of FM NUMBER_GET_NEXT in LFBRC_CENTRAL_FUNCSF05).

I have a list of work items (process instances) and I want to retrieve each item details such as: attachments, notes, id, ...
All the items are filtered and represented as Fuego.Papi.Instance:
Fuego.Papi.Instance[] inst = busProcess.getInstancesByFilter(filter : instFilter);
But the work item details are inherited from Fuego.Lib.ProcessInstance. So, how to get the item details from inst[] ?
Would appreciate any help, may be Dan will have an advise ?

If you have instances returned by your filter, you could extract variable information for each instance by doing something like this:

How can we get ADFSecurity work when used in OC4J, OID and OAM?

I am getting error in http server log "mod_oc4j: Response status=499 and reason=Oracle SSO, but failed to get mod_osso global context."
But I am not using Oracle SSO and my client doesn't want to use it either, I am using OAM SSO(CoreIDSSO) in my configuration. Please read the details below.
I am using ADFSecurity in an app that is protected by OAM. To migrate ADFSecurity permissions from
system-jazn-data.xml to OID, I used JAZNMigrationTool to populate OID with Grantees and Permissions. OAM gives login page, and authentication works fine.
But ADFSecurity is not working. ADFComponent Delete button is enabled even for roles that dont have permissions for the iterator delete.
- The app works fine when I use without OAM. ADF Security permissions work fine.
- The app works fine when used with OAM, but with ADFSecurity disabled (enforce=false).
- When I enforce ADFSecurity alongwith OAM, ADFSecurity is not working.
In the doc "Oracle Containers for J2EE Security Guide b28957", there is a mention of use of CoreIDPrincipal for permissions. Our OID Permissions entries show
LDAPRealmRole for attribute orcljaznprincipal. I am not sure if this could be the reason.
We have configured AccessServerSDK for the SOA instance and have policy for the urls in the policy manager. We have entries in orion-application.xml, orion-web.xml and system-jazn-data.xml as per the documentations.
How can we get ADFSecurity work when used with OID and OAM?

Have you been able to successfully integrate OAS with OAM & OID? We have similar requriement and so far we have not been able to get it working.
We have application specific roles which we map to OID roles using orion-application.xml.
Any pointers to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.

I am also facing the same issue, not sure about what url to use. And also the login webservice doesn't work while I am testing using http://localhost:81/RTC/RTCService.asmx. It always throwing the following error
" Unable to cast COM object of type 'RTCLib.RTCClientClass' to interface type 'RTCLib.IRTCClient'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{07829E45-9A34-408E-A011-BDDF13487CD1}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))."

How does Oracle client communicate with a database server

Looking to idenify how Oracle Database Client for OpenVMS communicates with database server and whether the protocol used is secure. Realize that it is using whatever the configured network protocol is (ie. tcpip) but is languauge it uses ( ie. SQL, etc..) secured/encrypted and if not what steps can be taken to encypt

You can find the transactions by a particular user from the transaction SM04.
SM04 gives you the details of the users logged in,terminals,transactions the user is working on, the time he has logged in,no of sessions user has opened, and the memory used by the user's programs... all of that w.r.t to the client we login. but we can't get info like date and number of times the user has logged in.
U can see tables:
USR01 User master record (runtime data)
USR02 Logon data
USR03 User address data
USR05 User Master Parameter ID
USR12 User master authorization values

When I switch my time capsule to 5.0ghz mode the range of my wireless network drops significantly. Near the Time Capsule my Macbook Pro works fine, in my bedroom I have almost no signal. In mixed mode it works fine. Any ideas on how to get 5.0 working?

I'm not sure if you understand that 5 GHz has some upsides, but also some very significant downsides.
The upside is that the 5 GHz signal will allow faster speeds.
The downside is that you must always give up something in order to gain something else.Unfortunately, the marketing hype about 5 GHz does not go into very many details about this.
In the case of 5 GHz, the 5 GHz signals are much weaker than 2.4 GHz signals, so they do not travel as far or penetrate any obstructions like walls or ceilings nearly as well as 2.4 GHz signals. In many cases, in order to get good 5 Ghz performance, you literally have to have almost a line-of-sight relationship between your computer and the wireless router.
If you have a new dual band router, which broadcasts both a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signal simutaneously, your Mac will connect to the best signal quality automatically depending on its location in relation to the router. In the same room, without any obstructions, it will connec to 5 GHz. But, take the laptop down the hall a few rooms and around the corner and the Mac will connect to the 2.4 GHz signal because at that location, the 2.4 GHz signal is not only stronger, it is also faster.

Change Maintenance Work Order Detail Report in Print WO page

Hello,
I would like to ask you for your help. We would like to have different report in Print WO function than Maintenance Work Order Detail Report. I mean SSM responsibility > Search for WOs > click Print WO icon. We applied patch #9871500 (I found it there: Templates associated to datadefinitions other than 'EAMWRREP' are not shown in the Work Order Detail report in EAM [ID 1209703.1]). I did personalizations steps - I defined new data definition (for example TEST) and report with data definition TEST is shown in the option on Print WO page now... But how should I it define to have correct result? What should be defined in Executable, Concurrent Program, Data Definition and Data Template? I have RDF and RTF files for this report. We are using different SQL than it is used in the original report. How could be used our SQL defined in RDF?

Hi,
1) You can choose to select and Print shop paper when you need.No enhancement is required.
2) There is not an option in standard to say Print/Not print Long text . You will have to replace the standard form with a custom form and build the logic to print /Not Print long text based on your rules.
