  • How to create OSS Account / ID

    Hi to all,
Can anybody give me the procedure / steps on how to generate an OSS Account / ID.
    Thanks!

    Hi Jaypee,
I think you're a BASIS administrator and you're just asking the standard procedure in creating OSS accounts so you can document it. I do have my own documentation regarding your issue.
    Here are the procedures:
    1. Log on to the service marketplace to generate an OSS account.
    2. To start the application, choose the link: <b>Request new user</b> on the start page of <b>User Data Administration</b>.
    3. Enter all personal data on the form which are flagged with <b>*</b>.
    4. You must have an administrator authorization to be able to define the authorizations of the newly requested user. Save your entries.
    5. If you have a requested user, the <b>Display Requested Users </b> shows the status of the request, it will now be in the status of <b>In Process</b> of generating user ID and password or <b>Successful</b> if the user ID has been successfully created.
    6. If creation of ID is successful, the user that requested the ID can now log on to the SAP service marketplace and he can change his password in <b>MyProfile</b> as soon as he is able to log on to the site.
Hope these procedures will do for your documentation.
    Regards.

  • How do I create this table?

When I paste the buy/sell ticket (table) from this page http://www.globalfutures.com/resources/order-placement.asp into Pages, everything comes out fine except the top - the five columns and split row above Buy and Sell labels.
Any idea how I can create these five columns without adding new columns that go down the length of the ticket? Same for the top row that is split by columns (one box has "ticket #" and the other "Global Futures Exchange & Trading Company, Inc.").
I don't know how to create the type of independent columns and rows they are using.

If you're a client of Global Futures Exchange & Trading Co. Inc. (as opposed to being an employee/associate of Global Futures Exchange & Trading Co. Inc.), is there a need to copy the table?
As I read the page, the table is a ticket produced after an order is received, not a form on which to place an order.
All that's needed to place an order is what's described in the section above the table, and illustrated by the single line example:
    How to Place Orders
The first thing to understand about order placement is that there is a standardized way in which to place an order. When placing an order, there are several pieces of information that need to be conveyed.
    • Name
    • Account Number
    • Order Type (Day, Open, Option)
    • Buy or Sell
    • Number of Contracts
    • Month
    • Commodity
    Here is an example:
"This is John Smith, Account 650-12345. Day Order: Buy 10 March E-Mini S&P at 1285.50"
The table appears to be an illustration of the ticket produced by the associate/employee receiving the order.
    Regards,
    Barry
PS: I'll skip instructrions for constructing the table, as my instructions would be essentially the same as Peter's.
I'd add a note that having the table model wouldn't particularly simplify the task of copying a similar table (and its information) from the web.

  • How do I create classifications for EE's like safety committee, fire comm..

Not related to a particular Job, Position, Org Unit, Personnel Area, Personnel Subarea, Employee Group, or Employee Subgroup, how do I create a "Classification" like Safety Committee, Fire Responders, CPR Responders, etc.? I would then want to assign EE's to this Classification.  TO the Classification I would want to attach required Qualifications and manage the Qualifications with TEM so that I can plan training from managed expired qualifications or future qualifications needed if someone will be be "Classified" in the future. Is there a standard means SAP Process to do this?  I have looked around and did not find anything that seemed like it would address this issue.  Thanks.
    Erik

    Hi Ravee,
Thank you very much for your help so far.  I found out that we are already using Qualification Groups (QK).  Our HR Dept thinks using an Object Type is a perfect solution but would prefer that we NOT use Qualification Groups so they can keep this function separate from our new classifications. So, ideally, we would like to use a different Object Type if possible.  In reviewing the available Object Types (table T778O) that we are not already using, I could not find one that fits the business scenario we are trying to resolve.
Like Organizational Units ("O"), we want to be able to assign multiple Qualifications ("Q") with a Relationship of "A|031" (Requires). We would also like to assign multiple Persons ("P") with a Relationship of "B|032" (Is fullfill).
But, as mentioned, there were no T778O Object Types that seemed to fit the mold.  After researching SAP Documentation, I came across documentation that noted the table is "delivered preset and should only be extended after consultation with SAP."
I created an OSS Message with SAP and I am awaiting feedback. Ideally I would like to create a "Zx" Object Type.  But, I do not know if this is a problem with SAP? For example, I don't know if my custom Object Type will be overwritten with upgrades? Further, I don't know all of the related steps to properly setup a custom Object Type. I can certainly create a T778O entry. But, after doing this, the infotypes do not display in PP01.  How do I get PP01 to display infotypes Object, Relationship, etc.? How do I allow the table and Relationship infotype to allow B|032 and A|031 relationships?  How do I get PEPM to allow this Object Type as a selection option?  I apologize for the creeping scope of the question, but, it is really the same question just asking for more detail please.  Thanks so much.

  • How do I create a Bootalbe HD

    Hi,
I don't have CD RW, but I got external HD, how can I create bootable external HD from all Oracle Linux ISO? I mean which software should I use ( on Windows XP) to create bootable hd and install linux?
    Thanks,

EASY: Order the pre-burned CD's from Oracle or have a friend with cd burner make them.
DIFFICULT (I think this will work):
    1. download bootfloppy-usb.img ftp://ftp.oss.cc.gatech.edu/pub/linux/distributions/damnsmall/current/
    Also, download RawWrite from http://www.chrysocome.net/rawwrite
    2. Use RawWrite to install bootfloppy-usb.img to a blank floppy disk
    3. Partition the USB drive, creating 1 partition with roughly 4 GB in size, formatted as FAT16. Copy your *.iso files to there.
    4. Reboot PC, and boot from floppy.
    5. You now need to mount your FAT16 partition
fdisk -l /dev/sda [assuming sda is the only SCSI/SATA/USB device attached; if the partition table doesn't match your usb drive, then try sdb or sdc or .... ]
    {Let's say that your FAT16 partition is sda3}
    mkdir -p /mnt/usb_sda3 /mnt/iso1 /mnt/iso2 ...
    mount -t msdos /dev/sda3 /mnt/usb_sda3
    cd /mnt/usb_sda3
    8. mount -o loop /iso1.iso /mnt/iso1
    mount -o loop /iso2.iso /mnt/iso2
    9. cd /mnt/iso1
    10. Figure out the command to run the installer Linux installer, and then install to the unused partition(s) on the USB disk. [I've never tried this, so I hope someone else can chime in]
    11. Eject the floppy, reboot, set BIOS to boot into USB, and see if it works.
    12. Once it's up and going, you can consider formatting your FAT16 partition into extra swap space, or whatever.

How do I number a ticket in 2 positions starting with 7001?

Data Merge is actually quite simple.
If you have Excel it's even easier.
Create 2 columns with column headers, maybe (Ticket #1, Ticket #2) and add your numbering to the rows as far as you need.  Save is as a CSV file.  Excel complains a few times so just keep clicking yes.  Close the file after you are done.  InDesign will complain the file is open.
In InDesign open the merging document.  Open the Data Merge panel (Window - Utilities - Data Merge)  With the window open Click the additional options button (down arrow with the 4 little lines) and choose Select Data Source to pick your CSV file.  Once selected in the main portion of the panel it should list the 2 different columns.  From there use the text tool to select where you want to number then click the column for one of the numbers from the data merge panel.  A blue marker will appear with the column header similar to <<Ticket #1>>.  Once that appaers you can click the preview check box in Data Merge and it will start showing your number.  When you have finished click the addtional options button again and choose Export to PDF to export the tickets.

  • How do I create a worksetmap

    Hi
Can anyone advise how to create a workset map.
Reading the Sap help the following is stated.
Create an iView template based on the workset map component (New ® iView ® com.sap.portal.navigation.worksetmap). For information on accessing and using the iView Wizard, see Launching the iView Wizard and First Steps.
           2.      In the iView’s Property Editor, set the Relative Workset Location property to define the location of the workset relative to the workset map iView.
There are two possible attributes to which you may need to assign a value:
    levelsup=n
    pathlist=ID1; ID2; and so on
For example, the value “levelsup=1” means that the workset is one level up from the iView, or the parent of the workset map.
In the case of a workset map iView that overviews a workset which is not its parent, and is several nodes away, you need to give the complete path from the workset to the workset map iView by listing the ID of each node in the path.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN AND HOW TO I CREATE THIS.
    PLEASE ADVISE.
    Regards
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
what looked to be quite a simple question about understanding the SAP Help, turned out to be very tricky. Thanks to Detlev (you also
owe him some points for this) I was able to clarify the syntax behind the "Relative Workset Location" Property of the Workset Map
iView. As there are quite some bugs in the SAP Help I will also open an OSS Message following to this post.
What you have to do, in order to display a Workset Map, is to create a Workset Map iView and to integrate it in your workset
(in a Page). If this Page with the iView is inserted just below the Workset for which you want to have the Workset Map created,
then you can leave the Property "Relative Workset Location" empty.
Let's speak about a concrete scenario, so that you can get a clearer picture. We want to create a Workset Map for the "Home"
Workset under the Role(com.sap.portal.eu_role). Under the workset "Home" (com.sap.km.home_ws) there are some other Worksets
    like "Company" (com.sap.km.home.company).
    1. Example for using no attribute in the "Relative Workset Location":
As stated above, just insert the newly created Workset Map iView in a new Page (let's name it "Overview") and this Page just below
the "Home" workset. You can give it a very low "Sort Priority" in order to be the first entry in the TLN.
    2. Example for using the "levelsup" attribute:
If you insert "levelsup=2" in the "Relative Workset Location" property, the iView will display a Workset Map starting from
com.sap.portal.eu_role. So you will see links to the "Home" workset and to the "Portal Personalization" workset.
    3. Example for using the "pathlist" attribute:
If you insert "levelsup=2;pathlist={com.sap.km.home_ws,com.sap.km.home.company}" in the "Relative Workset Location" property,
the iView will display a Workset Map starting from
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/general/com.sap.portal.eu_role/com.sap.km.home_ws/com.sap.km.home.company.
So you will see links to the pages "News", "Discussions", etc.
<u>But why?</u> You start from the Workset Map iView (and not from the workset to be displayed as stated in SAP Help) and go "levelsup=2",
so two navigation levels up, as under 2. Then you follow the relative path given by the worksets IDs, so "com.sap.km.home_ws" and
    "com.sap.km.home.company".
<u>Conclusion</u>: It would be really helpful if SAP edits the "Creating a Workset Map iView" Page in SAP Help and changes the bugs:
    1. ..pathlist=<b>{</b>ID<b>,</b>ID2<b>,</b> and so on<b>}</b>..
    2. ..the complete path <b>from the workset map iView to the workset</b> by listing the ID...
    3. <b>";" between the two attributes levelsup and pathlist for combining the attributes</b>
Another great thing would be if the coding would be manipulated so that no "Portal Runtime Error" is display whenever a wrong
    workset ID is inserted.
And from my opinion, it would be much easier to let the user find out the precise PCD location of the workset and input this as
parameter than to find out all the relative IDs for the path list!
    Hope this helps,
    Robert
PS: I hope you are able to appreciate the work it took to understand this component by awarding points. And also consider the same
for Detlev (if he replies) who help me out on that. Best regards!
