How do you compare multiple files in Linux

I have these two folders on a linux server they have similar file structure... I am windows user so I wanted to find out what would be a command to do a diff on all the files withing these two folders on the linux server... is that possible...

I really need to see an example of this to be sure we are talking about the same behavior.
When diff(1) compares two directories, the files within them must have the same name, and be character-by-character the same. Even if one file has an extra space, that change will show as a difference.
Diff(1) can output its findings in several formats. For example, using the "-u" switch (as we have) some lines on either side of the change are printed to help you see exactly where the changed lines are. This is called the "context" of the changes. You can try leaving off the "-u" switch like this:
$ diff -r dirA dirB
to get a different output style. The diff(1) program has many command line options so you can probably experiment and find some that do what you want. Maybe you want to ignore changes in the spaces around individual words: there is a switch for that and many more.

Can anyone tell me how to select multiple files at one time? I am so frustrated with the way macbook pro works that I really regret buying it. I hate that you can't select multiple files, and that my contact stuff keeps changing. It is certainly not like I was told...that I would never want to use a PC again. I would not buy another apple computer. I spent a lot of money to NOT be able to do things that I have always done with ease. Every time I think I have something figured out, it doesn't work the next time I go to use it in another program. If anyone has an answer to this, I would sure appreciate it.

On my iphone I had to make the texts just huge to even be able to see the white writing on a blue background. Not sure who made these designs, but from my perspective, I can tell you they certainly weren't thinking about being user friendly in any way when they did it. So disappointed in all of my devices! I do not enjoy using my computer, ipad, or iphone even close to what I did before.

To select multiple files you can use the shift key with the mouse if they are in a contiguous list or the CMD key with the mouse if you have breaks in that list. You can also use the mouse to drag over the files you want to select.
The Macs are easy to use, I have used many versions of Windows, Linux and other operating systems and I find OS X is far the easiest, but that is me.
There are many instructional videos and texts on Apples web site and if you are near to an Apple store they do classes to help.
Hope you get used to it.

This is propably an easy one.
I am trying to upload multiple .gif files to a folder in KM.
I went to Content Management -> KM Content and created a new folder inside a sub-folder.
Now when I click on the contect menu I select New.. and then Upload...
However, this only allows me to select for upload one file at a time.
I neeed to upload about 50 files. It will take ages doing this one by one!
Is there a quicker way?

Multiple upload of files is possible by using WEBDAV protocol.To use this follow the below steps.
Go to folder to which u want to upload the files and the click on the context menu and select details.A new window will open up.In that select settings->properties->accesslinks.copy the WEBDAV link shown there.
Now
click My Network Places on your desktop, and choose Tools from the top menu bar/Map Network Drive from the context menu. If you donu2019t find My Network Places on your desktop you can find it under Windows Start menu option on your computer.
select Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server. Click next
Highlight Choose another network locations. Click next
Use Cntrl+V to paste the URL path name(webdav URL). Click next
Change the URL location to the name of the folder in KM. Hit next. Hit finish
A folder by the name you just created will appear under my network places on your explorer application.
Using this u can upload multiple files directly into folder u want.

Try it in reverse; just drag all of your files into the Compressor batch window; select all of them, and then drag the template you want over them.

When I did this type of shot before I had to do some tricky stuff....and the hardest part for me was keeping me from shooting the other cameras and those other camera operators, not to mention trying not to see all those reflections of cameras and everything in the car, especially when I flew over the roof on wire ! Eventually I got it done but I had to basiscally use space lights with skirts and diffusion and then tent the car off with silk ( this was in a large football field sized stage )...and then put little holes in the silk for the "lenses"...and then hire a lot of people to walk that silk around as the cameras all dollied on track with the movement of the silk... took forever to get the shot but it was beautiful if you squinted.

ps...I when I edited this just like you want to do, with a lot of simutaneous screens within the frame, it looked so 3 dimensional people actually lost their balance watching it !

How do you share Aperture file across multiple users on same Mac? Seems this should be a preferences choice.

When you share your library between users, you may run into permission and ownership problems, if both users are editing the Aperture library and not only reading it. To avoid that, it helps to put the Aperture library onto a separate disk or a separate partion of your hard drive. For s separate partition or disk you can enable the "ignore ownership on this volume" flag. Then all users can access the library as owners of this library.
You might try to put the aperture library into a shared folder on your mac, but that has caused problems recently, i.e. when the library also contains video files.

I have multiple IDs and use the single computer sharing itunes. By 'sharing' I mean we open the pc, open itunes and log in with our individual ID as required.
While Im logged in I plug in my device. I transfer my purchases from my device as per the file menu (not the check for auto downloads). I move them as required to whichever playlist I like.
Then when my son wants to use itunes or update his device, he logs in, plugs in his device, transfers purchases from his device, puts whatever music he wants into his playlist and/or drags direct to the device regardless of who purchased it and then syncs.
Im not sure how it works associating the pc with only one ID or all that other business- I know I don't fiddle with any of that.

How do you highlight multiple documents rapidly, rather than having to click on the document and on "command" one at a time? Right now, when I'm trying to highlight documents to export, I have to click on each document individually. Is there a way to highlight one document while scrolling down the list until all desired documents are highlighted? I would like to rapidly be able to do this to save time when I am exporting or saving multiple files from my documents to an external drive, CD-Rom or cloud storage.

welcome to Apple Discussions.
It depends where you want them in your presentation.
Open the Media inspector and choose a playlist. In the list of entries, mark those you want to add to Keynote (use command-click to mark multiple titles not in one block).
Then drag the marked titles either on a slide or on the small Audio field (looks like a frame) in Document inspector. When you then hover the cursor at the Audio "frame", you'll see the quick info "Multiple Files". You cannot change the order or remove one of the files, but only all of them.
