How do you overwrite values in a ring control?

Hello,
I have a Ring Control (Text Values) in Labview 2009 and it is programatically populated with 20 items. The end user either selects from the items in the list or populates it with a new item based on a checkbox for adding new item. What I want to do is when the 20th item is entered and the user selects the checkbox for item 21 to be added I would like to rap around to the first item in the list and overwrite it. Is this possible and a sample vi would be great to demonstrate how this is done. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Replace Array Subset. You will need to keep track of which item to replace in a shift register. I would also keep the list in a shift register to make your life a little easier.

I created a shared variable on the RT target and used them on the log VI created under "My Computer", but I get error.

What are your data rates? If you are producing data "continuously", you might find that Network Streams are easier and more reliable than Network Shared Variables. In any case, you need an "engine" on one side (Host or Target) or the other. I'm streaming 24 channels of 16-bit data from a PXI controller to a PC this way, with three other streams handling two-way messaging and transmission of "occasional" time-stamped data to the PC.

The only way to reliably protect data, especially on an external hard drive, is to encrypt it. Permissions don't have to be respected. One way to encrypt data is to create an encrypted sparse bundle disk image with Disk Utility. See:

Call your voicemail access phone number and go to settings. There is an option for that.

How to convert U32 value obtained from color control of front panel to float(SGL) for use with IMAQ Draw ?.

I am trying to get user color inputs from front panel and use it in IMAQ Draw. I need to draw an oval of a certain color in a background of another color. Both these color values are user input. The problem is IMAQ Draw requires SGL color value and the color controls of front panel give U32. I have tried conversion VI's which hasn't worked. HELP !!!

I think the color control can be wired directly to the input, but I am not positive. I don't know of any color conversions that would help.
Make sure your image is a color image. You can't draw colors on a grayscale image.
You might want to consider using overlays, which appear on top of the image but are not part of the image.

How do you limit the number of rings before your answerphone kicks in?

People calling me have sometimes complained that if I am not available to take the call, they have to wait for many rings - and hence a long time - before the messaging system kicks in. And sometimes, callers give up, assuming I don't have voicemail. I know you can limit the number of rings on other phones, but I haven't founf out how to do it with my iPhone. I'm sure it's easy though!!

Your carrier sets this by time, not the number of "rings" since different ring tones take different times/ring. The typical setting is 30 seconds, sometimes up to 40 seconds. Contact your carrier to shorten it.

How do you change values after logging data to the citadel database (DSC)?

How would one go about changing values that already exist in the citadel database. So say I were logging a numeric value with a timestamp for 1 year and then wanted to change a few values for the month of June because my sensor wasn't working at that time. How could I do this? Is it possible without re-creating the whole database over?

That reinforces my suspicions.
I have an app running for about 8 years now that keeps a paper trail to enusr ethe cartdiges used in respirators (operated NIOSH National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health par teh CDC) that use DSC to enusre nobody can ever falsify those records. If they can be hacked I my customer and anyone using a respirator with a NIOSH sticker on the side of it, want to know.

I have an applet that runs great running the html file on my local machine from a root directory. I've placed my code(java, class, and html files) on the web server and loaded the applet onto a page. The results are merely:

"IP Address : 127.0.0.1"
Instead of:

I'm trying to get Real IP Addresses (as the code was setup to do) from a browser running on the web server. I have read some of the threads in this forum and some mention to use NetworkInterface while others recommended using Sockets (not an option since we do not use them), and another to use a signature as a workaround. Anyone know the best direction to get the results expected?

Check your documentation for "signed jar" (or search

You cannot change that, it is not user programmable. That is handled by your carrier, and it is not based on the number of rings, it is based on time. Call your carrier and see if they can extend the time for you. They may not be able to do this.

It's preset by some phone software but you still may have some sound settings for the answer time. Go to settings and check under call answer settings.
