How is the Hardware ID calculated?

I thought it used to be written down somewhere but I can't seem to find it...is there a writeup on the method for calculating the Hardware ID in ConfigMgr?
SELECT Hardware_ID0 FROM dbo.v_R_System
John Nelson #2

Hmm, well it's not official and it was 2005...but it's something:
http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/eholtz/pages/2839.aspx
The HardwareID is a new discovery property that is made up of:
The serial number & asset tag from system enclosure (taken from the WMI Win32_SystemEnclosure class)
The serial number of the motherboard (taken from the WMI Win32_Baseboard class)
The serial number of the BIOS (taken from the WMI Win32_BIOS class)
If the computer is not a laptop, the MAC address from first enabled adaptor (Win32_NetworkAdaptorConfiguration) is also used.

How are the IC's calculated in the IIR Cascade Filter with I.C. vi

    Solved this myself.
Attached llb has subVI that computes the IC's needed to remove transient given a constant value step input to the IIR Filter.
Computes filter state (see app note 39) for cascade filter using z-transform final value theorem.
This version works for all filter types, ie lowpass, highpass, bandstop and bandpass.

  • How is the font size calculated in pixel sized documents?

    Hello to all,
I am working with Illustrator CS4 on a web design. In the document setup, I set the size to 1000*1600 pixels. Then, I tried to add some text in font size 12 pt. The font appears *very* small. My objective was to use the same font size settings in my Illustrator file as I will later do in the HTML/CSS coding. How do I get Illustrator to scale the fonts in the same way as the browser does - i.e. a 12 pt text in the browser has the same size as a 12 pt text in Illustrator? Infact, I am looking for a setting where I can define the resolution of text size calculation.
    Best regards
    Joerg

Illustrator is a print-oriented, object-based vector drawing program, not a web-oriented, pixel-based raster painting program.
Illustrator's ruler is designed to represent real-world measure, not counts of pixels.
A pixel is not a measure. Pixels have no real-world measure.
Therefore, when Illustrator's ruler pretends to represent "pixels," it has to assign some real-world scale to them. It defaults to the measure of a point. A point is a real-world measure.
Similarly, a computer's operating system has to decide how many screen pixels it will use to represent a real-world measure at 100% zoom.
Mac OS defaults to using 1 pixel to represent 1 point. (72 PPI)
Windows and web browsers default to using 1.33 pixels to represent 1 point. (96 PPI)
So tell a browser to display 12 point type, and it will use 16 pixels to do that.
Given Illustrator's default that 1 pixel measures 1 point at 100%, Illustrator uses about 9 pixels to render the cap height of 12 point Verdana.
GIven the browsers' default that 1 point renders to 1.3 pixels, the browser uses about 12 pixels to render the cap height of 12 point Verdana.
So given that Illustrator and the browser are going to use different numbers of pixels to rasterize 12 point type, how do you get a browser to use the same number of pixels to render 12 point Verdana as Illustrator does? Simple: Specify the type size in the HTML code by pixels, not by points. This is a screenshot of Internet Explorer on Windows displaying a web page which contains:
A raster image of 12 point Verdana exported from Illustrator, using its default 72 PPI rasterization
Live 12 pixel Verdana HTML text.
Live 12 point Verdana HTML text.
Inversely, there are other ways to work around Illustrator's 72 PPI default when you want to rasterize Illustrator type so that it looks the same as the same-point-size text in HTML.
When using Save For Web & Devices, specifiy 133% instead of the default 100%.
Scale the artwork to 133% before exporting via Save For Web & Devices using the default 100%
When rasterizing, rasterize to 96 PPI instead of 72 PPI. (1.33 as many pixels)
When exporting, export to 96 PPI instead of 72 PPI. (1.33 as many pixels)
Or, do what I do: Get a decent screenshot utility. When I want to rasterize something from Illustrator that contains text that I want to appear online at the same scale that it appears to me when working in Illustrator, I simply zoom to 133% and take a screenshot.

  • How is the disposable net calculated for garnishment?

    Hi experts,
In IMG, I tried to create new adjustment model for diposable net.
But I found out some entries are there trying to substract the
amount paid for other garnishment (such as child support).
So suppose I have two garnishments, one is Child support, another
is creditor. While when I was doing test I found out even the
wage type for the Child support wage type is put in the model as
deduction to calculate the creditor garnishment, it is actually
    not substracted during payroll process.
Could anyone tell me how should this work?
    Thank you very much.
    Regards,
    Johnson

Thank you Aniket. Just got time to test this.
In my test, the 'take home pay' is not deducted to zero or negative even both garnishments are fully deducted. The child support garnishment wage type is still not included in calculating creditor's disposable net. I checked processing class 59 for the child support garnishment wage type and it is set to 4. Everything looks ok, what could be the problem here?
Thank you and have a wonderful holiday.

  • Info Steward - BI Lineage - how is the lineage link calculated?

I have extracted metadata into Information Steward from WEBI reports and their universes as well as from the Oracle database on which the universes are built on. However, when I try to see the lineage for the WEBI report, the lineage diagram indicates that the universe objects are based on a universe on an unknown database and unknown schema. The actual message is: "Schema name: Undefined schema for database undefined connection IS-DEV3 (CMM-10099)".
My question is: what does Info Steward uses to link the metadata from WEBI and Universes to the metadata from the underlying database so it is displayed in a lineage diagram? do I need to follow any naming convention on the Universe connection or the database schema so that relationship can be identified?
    Thank you,
    Vicente.

That is, in BI we identify the tables that house the mapping between the source and destination data elementsa and take out this information. Then we extract the dataelement documentation by function DOCU_GET (from eCC) and use the mapping info above to link SAP BI data element with source data element documentation.
    1) SAP don't supply this, I would imagine, because R/3 isn't the only possible source of data.  I'm currently working on an app that extracts from R/3, an Oracle database and APO.  From whence should I take the documentation for my MATERIAL info object?  While being able to transfer the documentation of data elements might be very useful for your app, I can't see that generally it would be of interest to clients - I've certainly never heard of such a requirement.  So, my opinion at least, it isn't a design flaw.
    2) As you've pointed out, you can get the tables that do the mapping, so you know the source data elements, so you can get the documentation.  I'm not sure of how to store the documentation, but the obvious candidate for a link between infoobject and dataelement would be master data of an own infoobject.  You could wrap DOCU_GET in an RFC (if it isn't RFC enabled), and do a direct call between your 3rd party app and r/3 to get the documentation.  For information about the mapping tables, I'd suggest asking that question specifically in one of the BI forums.

  • How is GC cpu utilization % calculated?

I am trying to find a way to capture the problem where a user process eats up a ton of cpu for over 30 minutes. I thought that I could possibly use the cpu utilization metric.
In testing it, I reset the values to warning and critical thresholds to 0 and 5% respectively to see what would happen. I was emailed with the expected critical alert. In looking at the top sessions on the server, I noticed that 1 session was eating up 100% of one cpu (which I want to know about) but the alert email said that 45% was utilized which I noticed was about what the user load is on the server.
Initially, I had the warning and critical threshold set to 85 and 95% respectively but did not get any warning about a user process that was taking up 100% cpu for > 5 minutes (in which the 5 minute collect times were set to once).
    My questions are
    1) How do I capture a single process eating up > 90% cpu in a multi-cpu environment
    2) Is the cpu utilization % capturing the Average Load of the cpus on the server and alerting when it's above the critical threshold?
    3) How is the cpu utilization % calculated?
    Help would be appreciated.

The cpu load is determined by running the Grid program nmupm found in $AGENT_HOME/bin
    The output is like:
    dbc12ykf: PDBGRP> nmupm osCpuUsage
    em_result=1|206331806.000000|201540370.000000|102524043.000000|958620752.000000
    em_result=2|212731589.000000|201203614.000000|67775500.000000|948506267.000000
    em_result=3|212402913.000000|230642957.000000|76833167.000000|917779040.000000
    em_result=4|242543014.000000|367865067.000000|81554006.000000|791426607.000000
You will get a line for each cpu.
YOu'll need a bit of reverse engineering to figure out the columns - I think they are user, system, idle , 5min avg - Multiplied by 10000 ?
Now to capture a big one - I think you will need a user defined metric. Just write a simple shell script to run the above command, and evaluate the numbers coming thru.

  • How do I disable the hardware acceleration in Flash player on a Windows XP machine remotely?

How do I disable the hardware acceleration in Flash player on a Windows XP machine remotely?
I have a few hundred computers running Adobe Flash Player.
The operation system is Windows XP.
They are Compaq 6005 desktop PC’s, with an inbuilt ATI radeon HD 4200 video card.
We have a persistent issue where viewing a flash video (e.g. something on youtube) causes the video card driver to crash.  You are left with no video signal to the monitor.  Audio continues and the computer still responds to commands. This only happens when watching flash video.
    We have tried:
    Updating flash plugin (numerous versions)
Updating the video card drivers (we have tried the last three video card driver versions, including the HP drivers and ATI drivers)
Updating the browsers (this problem happens with IE8/9 and Firefox10/11/12)
There seems to be two ways to work round this issue.  One is to disable the video acceleration in the ‘troubleshoot’ section in the advanced part of the display settings area in windows.  The other way is to start a flash video, right click, go to ‘settings’ and untick the box marked ‘Enable Hardware Acceleration’.
Doing either of these things allows the user to view flash videos with no apparent issues.
Is there a way to disable the hardware acceleration in Flash without visiting the PC?  Perhaps an undocumented option in the mms.cfg file? I understand that you can use an option to skip the video card check, and so force hardware acceleration on, can you do the opposite?
    Thanks in advance
    Daniel.

    Hi.
I have had over 200 views, and no suggestions as to how this could be fixed.
I have also posted in the general flash forum, that thread has fewer views.
If I should put this question in a different forum please let me know which one.
If what I am asking is not possible is there a mechanism for escalating this issue or requesting a feature for the next version of flash?
    Thanks.

  • How to create Remainder email workflow in share point 2010 designer without creating the remainder date (calculated) column in the list

    Hi,<o:p></o:p>
I have task to create remainder email notification 3 days before by comparing with End
date (my list item) so i created one calculated column in the list as remainder date by using that remainder date
i created, but my project manager told me create same remainder notification work flow without create that remainder date i tried to write calculation in work flow
but it is not working if any one knows how to do this please help me<o:p></o:p>
    Thanking you,<o:p></o:p>
    ArunDarly <o:p></o:p>

    Hi,
For reminder type requirements, I tend to use the ‘Information Management Policy’ SPD method as described in
this blog article by Laura Rogers (it’s for MOSS and WSS but works in SP2010 also).
This method avoids the use of calculated columns; rather the workflow does the calculation and outputs information into a ‘reminder’ field. Also, I don’t like the idea of ‘paused workflows’, so this method works for me.
    Cheers
    Matt

  • How to perform the hardware setup without the CD?

In most of the support page I read, I am finding info about drivers and computer connectivity with the printer.  In many occasion, we can read a paragraph like this one:
Important: Set up the HP hardware before installing the software. If you have not already done so, find the hardware setup document for your printer before starting the following steps.
    Excerpt trom http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02273853&tmp_task=setupCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc...
This is exactly what I am trying to achieve, but nowhere HP seems to be providing guidance about this.  At least that I can find.  Where can I find the bundle to download that will allow me to connect the prionter to the WIFI network?  Note that the automatic connection WPS generates an error on the printer.  My router is a bran new Linksys EA6350.
Please do not refer me to the driver download page, this is not what I am looking for.
    Thanks,

New plan...  I have done some reaserach and may have found a way!
We will put the computer on the printers network, and then print a report to get the printers IP address. At this point we can access the embedded web server (EWS) and run the wireless wizard from there. Once the printer is on the home network with the router we can put the computer back on the network and vuala the printer and computer will both be on your network.
To restore network defaults - since you have done this before I imagine you know how but for others who may view the post, here are the steps
    Press the Wireless button
    Select Wireless Settings
Scroll down and select Restore Network Defaults.  Press Yes to acknowledge
The radio will turn off (the blue LED will go out).  You may need to press the wireless button again to Enable Wireless
Put the computer on the printers network (temporary)
    1. Click on the Airport symbol on the top left side of the Mac screen
    2. Choose the network that look relative to the printer (might say HP setup or some variation of your printer name) - it may take a few minutes for it to appear
Print the wireless network test - wait a few minutes to ensure the and computer have established an adhoc connection otherwise the report will not have an IP address
Press the Scan button (it also the Wireless menu button)
    Select Wireless Settings
Navigate to Wireless test and select.
The Wireless Network Test prints, look for and note the IP address.
Open an Internet browser (Safari) and enter the IP address into the URL (address bar).
Click on the network tab, on the left click on wireless or 802.11.
At this point we are looking fore "start wizard" should be on the right hand side.
Once we have successful configured the printer for your network you can put your computer back on your own network.
Now you can add the printer to the System Preferences and print
Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.

  • How to detect the OS version and the hardware info??

Hi all, according to the project needs, I to know how to detect OS version and the hardware info.
The point is to detect client's OS version, weather Win98, 2000, XP, Vista.
I have been search the information for several days already.
But can not really found a example which returns the OS version like"Windows XP Version 2002 *****".
And also could not find the CPU type such as"Core 2 due, or  pentium D".
Is there anyone have done this before?
    Thanks.
The Info I need looks like the photo below.

Well, in fact I have the VI and also read the topics as well...... The searching tag is OS info , system info......... After reading your post, now I understand the relation between the version number and the real OS version now, tks.  And another problem is, the processor type returned within the VI have only 4 type:"INTEL 386, INTEL 486, PENTIUM, Unknown".
It can not really return my CPU TYPE. For example the desktop I’m using now is a Pentium, D , 2.80G, 2.80G.. and it only returns type "Pentium". That's why I'm asking is there any other way to do this...... (( Please forgive me if you can not really know what I'm talking about in my first post, now I know how bad my english is.......   ))  I guess I can only try to find out the solution from the registry then... Thanks for your information and reply.

    Hi All,
I wonder how the Sigma is calculated in Monte Carlo Analysis.
I read the User Guide, it said the Sigma is related to Resistence value.
But seems the process of calculating the Sigma in User Guide is not correct...
Would anyone be able to provide some more details on the Sigma caculation?
I attached the Monte Carlo Analysis' result.
After some days' research, I can not figure out the caculation process...
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Please take a look at the attached spreadsheet. This calculation is based on the sample RLC Circuit which is located in the Samples Folder >> Analysis >> Monte Carlo Analysis.
In essense the Sigma value is based on the Output Y Value and it shows what the peak value is on a specified distance from the calculated sigma of the entire data.
    Hope this helps.
