How is x! calculated in Calculator?

I can use the x! key to find (pi)! ≈ 7.188082728976031.
How does the x! key calculate a result when x IS NOT a non-negative integer?
This applies to my MacBook Pro with MacOS 10.9.2, and my iPhone 4 with iOS 7.1.

  • Can't figure out how to do a specific calculation

    I have a report that is broken into columns in the detail section.  From the data in that section I need to create a formula that looks something like the following:
    (column A - Column B)/column A
    Now because I have it formatted with multiple columns each column heading is the same field just pulling in different years.
    So even though Column A is 2011 and Column B is 2010 the field is still "TaxYear" for both columns.
    How can I make this calculation happen and populate in another area of the data?  Now the tax year won't always be 2010 or 2011.  But the columns will always be there.
    I hope I am making sense and that someone can help me.

  • How is GC cpu utilization % calculated?

    I am trying to find a way to capture the problem where a user process eats up a ton of cpu for over 30 minutes. I thought that I could possibly use the cpu utilization metric.
    In testing it, I reset the values to warning and critical thresholds to 0 and 5% respectively to see what would happen. I was emailed with the expected critical alert. In looking at the top sessions on the server, I noticed that 1 session was eating up 100% of one cpu (which I want to know about) but the alert email said that 45% was utilized which I noticed was about what the user load is on the server.
    Initially, I had the warning and critical threshold set to 85 and 95% respectively but did not get any warning about a user process that was taking up 100% cpu for > 5 minutes (in which the 5 minute collect times were set to once).
    My questions are
    1) How do I capture a single process eating up > 90% cpu in a multi-cpu environment
    2) Is the cpu utilization % capturing the Average Load of the cpus on the server and alerting when it's above the critical threshold?
    3) How is the cpu utilization % calculated?
    Help would be appreciated.

    The cpu load is determined by running the Grid program nmupm found in $AGENT_HOME/bin
    The output is like:

    You will get a line for each cpu.
    YOu'll need a bit of reverse engineering to figure out the columns - I think they are user, system, idle , 5min avg - Multiplied by 10000 ?
    Now to capture a big one - I think you will need a user defined metric. Just write a simple shell script to run the above command, and evaluate the numbers coming thru.

    Computes filter state (see app note 39) for cascade filter using z-transform final value theorem.
    This version works for all filter types, ie lowpass, highpass, bandstop and bandpass.

    In V/08 please check for the relevant pricing procedure, usually we assign Subtotal A for the total amount of Net value+Tax .

    It's an option. I slightly modified expression to make it more generic:
    =CALCULATE
          SUM (Fact[Sales]);
          FILTER (
                        Fact; Fact[Product] = EARLIER (Fact[Product]) && Fact[PeriodID] = (EARLIER(Fact[PeriodID]) -1)
    Where Fact[PeriodID] is calculated column with '=RELATED (Time[PeriodID])' formula. To my opinion this is more universal approach.
    But it has the cons. EARLIER is memory demanded function. In case of 32-bit OS or numerous nested EARLIER error might occur.
    Is there any alternative solution?

    There are so many Pre Calculation queues in RSPRECADMIN ->Display Current queue. But there are no corresponding jobs running in SM37. Please suggest me how to clear these queues all at once.
    Also in the OS of the corresponding Pre Calulation Server, I could see lot of workbook excel running in Task Manager.
    Please also suggest how to end these excels.

    On RSPRECADMIN transaction, you will see the button Display Current Queue.
    Then, you will see the following:
    > Queue Overview of Open Precalculations
    > Queue Overview of Current Precalculations
    > Queue Overview of Proccessed Error-Free Precalculations
    To clear all queues, press  F7.

    I have a requirement to hide the "CASE WHEN" statements which are there in the filter view while viewing the report in Dashboard. User dont want to see the calculation part in filter view instead they just want to see the selected dashboard prompt value. For e.g

    try this, It seemed to have worked for me..
    Below was my case statement
    (CASE WHEN '@{var_brand}' = 'Value1' and "Compl"."RecTypeId" IN (5,8,9) THEN 1
    WHEN '@{var_brand}' = 'Value2' and "Compl"."RecTypeId" IN (11,12,13) THEN 1
    ELSE 0 END)=1
    I used it as a column in my analysis with the following formula
    (CASE WHEN '@{var_brand}' = 'Value1' and "Compl"."RecTypeId" IN (5,8,9) THEN 1
    WHEN '@{var_brand}' = 'Value2' and "Compl"."RecTypeId" IN (11,12,13) THEN 1
    ELSE 0 END)
    and I made a change to the name of the column in the analysis using custom column headings and put it as "Brand"
    and now put a filter on this column and filtered it for for the value 1
    and my filters view now shows the column Name "Brand" instead of the Case Statement..
    See if this process works for you..

    And the calculation I want is:
    Sales of a Country/ SUM(sales of its Region)
    using level based measures allows me to create
    Sales of store / SUM(sales of Country)
    Sales of store / SUM(sales of Region)
    Sales of store / SUM(sales of ALL)
    because the sales are aggregated at the lowest level wich is 'Store'
    Any one knows how I can create this in the repository?

    I don't really see the problem, because the solution is quite easy:
    1. Create one level based measure: Sales by Country
    2. Create another level based measure: Sales by Region
    3. Create a logical column with the calculation Sales by Country / Sales by Region based on the logical columns from 1 and 2.

    I'm using iwork '08 and can't find a way to add a value to row of cells, as per the Calculate menu in Appleworks. I'm trying to update a calendar from the previous year by adding a value of 1 or 2 to the numbers in all the cells so that last year's June 24 becomes this year's June 25. Does Numbers have a way of doing this?

    It does, pretty much. The forum software parses out multiple spaces. Still readable if the reader has an idea what it should look like, and more readable using the technique described above for seeing HTML codes in a message.
    Anyway I can't get the DATE or DAY functions to track properly between cells, because the DAY function converts text into a number,
    DAY() does absolutely nothing with text, except return an error message:
    "DAY requires a date but found a string instead."
    A cell containing a Date and Time value may be formatted to show only the date portion in any of the following forms:
    No matter which of those is visible in the cell, the cell does NOT contain a text string and does NOT contain a number. The cell contains a Date and Time value in which the Date portion is the value for the ninth day of February in the 2006th year of the common era.
    and the DATE function converts a date into a number, and the the two functions don't play nice with each other.
    Actually DATE works in the opposite direction. It constructs a date from three separate numbers.
    The syntax is DATE(year,month,day)
    DATE(2006,2.9) will construct the Date and Time value for February 9, 2006 and set the time value to 0:00:00 (midnight). Depending on the format set for the cell containing the function, the date will display in one of the forms shown in the list above.
    Once the DAY function converts a date into a plain number, it won't reset after 30 and 31. In fact it seems to treat any reference to that cell as a one.
    DAY does return a (plain) number in the range 1-31. If you add 1 to that +number+, you'll get a number in the range 2-32. If you add 1 to the +date+ that DAY extracted that number from, you'll get a number in the range 2-31, or if the new date is in the next month, you'll get the number 1.
    Now that I've seen the graphics that were supposed to come with your posts, it looks like the answer may be a set of reference cells in another table that I can hide from view in the printed form of my chart.
    There's no need for a second table just to get the day numbers in your example. You may need a LOOKUP table to convert the 1s to the shortened name of the current month, though, and that LOOKUP table can be placed on a second table.
    Here's my take on the problem as currently described. Description below.
    Column A contains the starting date in Cell A1. The format is set to display this date including the name of the weekday to ensure the calendar starts on a Monday. (Necessary because the weekday labels in row 2 are entered text, not constructed from the date information being placed on the calendar.)
    A5, and every 4th row after contains a formula that adds 7 to the date in the cell four rows above.
    =$A1+7
    B1 contains a formula that extracts the DAY (of the month) from the date in A1, plus a calculation that allows it to increment the date when filled into the columns to the right.
    =DAY($A1+COLUMN()-2)
    The desire to replace "1" in C1 with "Jun" (the shortened name of the new month) makes the formula a bit more complicated:
    =IF(condition,TRUE: do this,FALSE:do this)
    =IF(DAY($A1+COLUMN()-2)=1,LOOKUP(MONTH($A1+COLUMN()-2),Month Lookup :: $A$1:$A$12,Month Lookup :: $B$1:$B$12),DAY($A1+COLUMN()-2))
    condition: DAY($A1+COLUMN()-2)=1
    as above, the formula extracts the (adjusted) day number from the date in A1, then compares it with the number 1.
    If they're equal the comparison evaluates as TRUE, and the formula does this part:
    LOOKUP(MONTH($A1+COLUMN()-2),Month Lookup :: $A$1:$A$12,Month Lookup :: $B$1:$B$12)
    MONTH() returns the number of the month of the adjusted date in A1, then looks up that value (6) in column A of the table Month Lookup, and returns the corresponding text string ("Jun") from column B of that table.
    If the day number is not equal to 1, the comparison evaluates as FALSE, and the fomula does the last part:
    DAY($A1+COLUMN()-2)
    and returns the day number of the (adjusted) date.
    Constructing the tables:
    Month Lookup table
    Enter 1 in A1 and 2 in A2.
    Select both cells and drag the coltrol down to fill to row 12.
    Enter Jan in B1
    Select B1 and drag the control down to fill ro row 12 (Dec)
    Calendar table
    Enter a starting date in A1.
    Enter

    Select A2:H5 (as shown in graphic above)
    Drag the control down as many rows as you need.
    Optional formatting
    The red month names on yellow backgrounds are created using Conditional formatting for the seven cells B1:H1 (and similar cells further down the table).
    If you choose to do this, it's best to do so where "See optional formatting..." is placed in the instructions.
    Select B1:L1
    In the Format bar above the tables, set the Text colour to red and the Fill colour to yellow. (This will change the colours in all cells in the row.)
    Open the Inspector and click the Cell Format button.
    Click the Conditional Format checkbox to check it. Click Show Rules.
    From the Choose a Rule popup, choose "Less than or Equal to" and enter 31 in the box that appears.
    Choose Black for the conditional text colour and white for the conditional fill colour.
    Continue with the instructions for Constructing the Tables.

  • How to force a re-calculation of a formula (pricing)?

    Hello gurus,
    I'm facing a big problem regarding the use of custom conditions for SAP pricing. We have created a new pricing condition (ZFR1) and binded it to a custom formula, this condition is a percentual, it updates de field KBETR. Everything works fine at first, using VA01 all fields are filed according to our configuration, but using VA02 and updating the total amount of a item doesn't update the total value of that item (KWERT).
    Ex.: We have one item with a total of $100,00 and the condition is 1%, the amount in this condition is $1,00, if we change the total value of the item (by changing its quantity) to $200,00 the formula will again be called in the ABAP, the 1% we had configured will be carried to the condition correctly but the total amount of the condition will still be $1,00 instead of $2,00. If we create the order from the begining with the total value of $200,00 the total of the condition will be $2,00.
    With this in mind I can only assume the calculations are correct but for some reason the standard ABAP doesn't execute on every update of a item but only on the creation of it. Has someone faced similar problem? How could I solve it? Can I somehow force this update every time a item has some value changed? Or maybe someone could show me where I can find the routines that does this kind of calculations and I can study whats wrong.

    PD Check also in MV45AFZB the subroutines  userexit_new_pricing_vbap and  userexit_new_pricing_vbkd. Look for in your conding (userexits, vofm and so on) if there is any condition for T180-TRTYP.
