How to access ejb jar in ear package from other war web package?

How to access ejb in jar packed in ear package from other war web package?

Typically you would just look the EJB Home up in JNDI. If you're
looking for example code, the medrec example in WLS 8.1 or petstore has
plenty of webapps calling EJBs.

  • How to access EJB deployed in JBOSS 4 from Creator

    Hello.
    I am trying to access EJBs deployed on JBOSS in order to develop a web app client, when I import the EJB set from Creator (sessions and entities packages in a jar file) I got the following error message....."No EJB set found in file....." .
    I presume there is an kind of xml file description specific for Sun App Server missing. I would like to know if there is other way to expose EJB in creator?....maybe write a config file by hand.
    I already read the tutorials related to EJB but those only use pre build EJB jars for Sun App Sserver.
    Also I read all the posted about JBoos and EJB in this forum but those are pretty general.
    By the way I have Delegate classes to access the EJB. How do I register my delegates in Creator in order to expose their methods?
    Ill really appreciate some light in this matter.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Excellent question. I don't see any client-jar in your EAR file structure. So I am assuming you are writing a separate client application which will talk to the ejbs deployed as part of this EAR. You need to do the following:
    Write another EAR file with the following structure:
    ear:
    META-INF/application.xml
    util.jar
    client.jar
    client.jar should have a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF and that should contain Class-Path:util.jar and value for Main-Class attribute.
    Now deploy this new ear to your application server and execute it using Application Client Container that comes with your app server.
    If you don't want to write another EAR file, then bundle th client.jar in your original EAR file.
    Points to note are:
    you have to repackage util.jar again inside this ear file.
    For portability reason, you should use Class-Path manifest entry in client.jar. Refer to http://java.sun.com/j2ee/verified/packaging.html and J2EE platform spec section #8.2.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
    It seems one of your ejb jar is missing from the current file location.
    D:\dev\workspaces\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources\.projects\itr-ear\beadep\citron_domain\itr-ear\split_src
    you can make it manually copied to this location and build the project again so that it can able to deploy propertly.
    Now one more thing you can do open a ticket with oracle support for better assistance.

  • How to  access the ORACLE APPS table structures from SAP

    Hi Experts,
        How to  access the ORACLE APPS table structures from SAP? Is it possible from SAP?
    Thanks in advance
    Thomas

    Hi Silviya,
    you can access this database using a technique called DB Multiconnect - sometimes written as multi-connect.
    Search the SAP documentation and notes for this term and you will find how to do it.
    Essentially you configure the remote database connection via transaction DBCON.
    If your SAP system is not running on Oracle you will need to install the db-specific kernel files for Oracle along with the Oracel db client software - SQL*Net.
    Then you can access the Oracle database from ABAP using native-SQL. It works a treat!

  • How to access a jar file in EAR file?

    I have a EAR file which contains EJB.jar file and util.jar file. Outside of EAR, I mean in client side, I need to reference util.jar file. How can I access it?

    |--|---|--- deployment descriptors...
    |--|---|--- manifest.mf
    |--|--- EJB classes
    |--Util.jar

  • Using JMX to read ejb manifest jar and ejb-jar.xml in ejb jar inside ear

    Hello,
    I have an ear deployed on weblogic console. I need to check contents of manifest file and ejb-jar.xml of a jar that is present in the deployed ear.
    Currently I am using below code to access jar inside ear deployed :
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable(5);
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,
    url);
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, user);
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, password);
    Context ctx = new InitialContext(env);
    mBeanHome = (MBeanHome)ctx.lookup(MBeanHome.ADMIN_JNDI_NAME);
    String type = "EJBComponentRuntime";
    Set beans = mBeanHome.getMBeansByType(type);
    try{
    for(Iterator it=beans.iterator();it.hasNext();)
    EJBComponentRuntimeMBean rt = (EJBComponentRuntimeMBean)it.next();
    if(rt.getParent().getName().equals("xxx")){
    System.out.println(rt.getName());
    l.add(rt.getName());
    Here xxx is the ear. Now I need to get inside the jar (represented) by variable rt and access its manifest file,ejb-jar.xml
    Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

    Isn't it possible to put them there manually? :)

  • How to access static resources in ear without specifing context-root

    Hello, i have a problem with my ear.
    The war's structure is like this:
    ---/jsp
    ---/css
    ---/images/ViewRisposte.gif
    ---/xsl/Request.xsl
    ---/Common/data.xsl
    /error.xsl
    /input.xsl
    xsl files reference css and images files that are contained in css and images dir.
    I can't use the "../" to specify css and images path into xsl and jsp due to security policy setting on the Http server (and I can't change this policy).
    In the ear's application.xml is specified the context root of the module web with the name SABEARWeb
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <application>
    <display-name>SABEARWeb module</display-name>

              <context-root>SABEARWeb</context-root>
         </web>
    </module>
    </application>
    For example with this following code (Request.xsl), how can i replace the "../" notation to access xsl and image resouces without write the context root? How i can insert the images and css references into xsl and jsp files?

    >>As I understand I should change View1 by handling command of button “Edit”, and then View 2 should be displayed, then I change data and then View1 should be updated. How to do it?
    For information about how to handle a command, please refer to my blog post:
    http://blog.magnusmontin.net/2013/06/30/handling-events-in-an-mvvm-wpf-application/
    You could bind the Command property of the edit button to an ICommand property of VMMain. When this command is executed you could then send a message using an event aggregator or some kind of messenger. Please refer to my blog post for more information about
    how to for example use Prism's event aggregator class to pass events between view model classes:
    http://blog.magnusmontin.net/2014/02/28/using-the-event-aggregator-pattern-to-communicate-between-view-models/
    Andy has written an example of how to use MvvmLight's Messenger class:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/26070.communicating-between-classes.aspx
    The concepts are the same but you will have to download and reference either Prism:
    https://www.nuget.org/packages/Prism/
    ...or MvvmLight: https://www.nuget.org/packages/MvvmLight/
    You then subcribe to this event or message in the main view model and change the value of the CurrentPageViewModel property whenever you recieve an event. Note that the class must implement the INotifyPropertyChanged interface and raise its PropertyChanged
    interface for this to work:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.componentmodel.inotifypropertychanged%28v=vs.110%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
    This is how you are supposed to communicate between different view model classes.
    Hope that helps.

    Local interfaces are for communication between ejbs and their clients when both are in the same JVM. The clients can be normal clients, jsps, servlets, and other ejbs. If the client is not in the same JVM you cannot use local interfaces even though your client is another ejb.
    Advantage of using local interface is it reduces the network overhead.
