  • How to insert the image or logo into the table as a field in webdynpro abap

    Hi Friends,
Please tell me how to insert the image or logo into the table as a field in webdynpro abap.........

    Hi Alagappan ,
In your view layout you take table UI element and then you bind it with some context nodes.
The attributes of your nodes comes as a field.
Now in these fields you can set various properties and image is one of them.
    Go to ->
    1. View Layout -> Right Click on ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER -> INSERT ELEMENT -> TABLE
    2. Right click on table -> Create Binding.
Here you have to bind it with the appropriate context node.
You will get two properties here
a- Standard Cell Editor :- ( make it image )
b- Standard properties :- ( If required set image properties ).
    3. If you want put image from out side then import it as a mime object and set the source of your table field ( used as a image )
    also have a look :-

  • ADF Faces Components:how to align af:panelBox with fields in af:panelForm?

    Hi,
I have an af:panelForm component to which I added af:selectOneChoice and few af:inputText components. af:panelForm aligns all af:inputText fields properly with labels being right justified and the input fields left justified.I wanted to add af:panelBox at the end but don't know how to align it with the input fields.
I wrapped the last input field and the af:panelBox inside af:panelBorder but this didn't help. I still get af:panelBox displayed at the extreme left hand side.
I could put af:panelBox inside another af:panelForm but that does not work for me because af:panelBox happens to be target of a PPR, source of which is the af:selectOneChoice. Depending on the selected item of ad:selectOneChoice, I want to either show af:panelBox or hide it. So I had to include af:panelBox in the same af:panelForm that contains af:inputText so that both source and target of PPR are at the same level for PPR to work. I can also add af:objectSpacer before af:panelBox to get the alignment i am looking after but this again doesn't help because when window is restored or maximized, then the alignment gets lost. Any clue how to achieve that ?
    <af:panelForm>
    <af:selectOneChoice

    Hi,
did you try skinning ? Inline style CSS doesn't necessarily work for the whole component as it operates on the root DOM element, which in the case of a composite component isn't the individual facet

  • How to Align Text in the TextArea

How to Align text in the TextArea. My purpose is that I want to post the records after retrieving from database. All the records in each fields should keep aligned like Oracle WorkSheet.
    I want this way
    Code Name Place City
    a01 nilopher swiss street japan
    a02 rozina lovely street aus
    a03 benazir king's camp pitsburg
and the out put should not look like this :-
    Code Name Place City
    a01 nilopher swiss street japan
    a02 rozina lovely street aus
    a03 benazir king's camp pitsburg
here place and city records are getting disturbed accordingly the length of name.

Well, first off (if it's not default, that is) you must set a monospaced font on the TextArea, unless you want to count pixelwidth of each and every string and then do an estimate on how many fill blanks you want...
If you have the each string as a line, you use a StringTokenizer on it, extract each token, put all the tokens for that line into an array of strings.
When every line is done, you compare the length of the nth String of each array and save the highest numbers.
Then you reassemble each line from the arrays and pad in spaces where the tokens are too short.

  • How to use field symbols

can anyone tell me how to use field symbols. What effect it has on performance of a program?
    what r its avantages?
iam working on a report where iam facing a lot of problems in performance issue. can anyone tell how field symbols are useful in this regard?
    thanx to all

    Check the below links
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fc/eb3860358411d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm
    FIELD-SYMBOLS
    Basic form
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <fs>.
    Additions
    1. ... STRUCTURE s DEFAULT wa
    2. ... TYPE t
    3. ... TYPE LINE OF t
    4. ... LIKE s
    5. ... LIKE LINE OF s
    Effect
This statement declares a symbolic field called <fs>. At runtime, you can assign a concrete field to the field symbol using ASSIGN . All operations performed with the field symbol then directly affect the field assigned to it.
You can only use one of the additions.
    Example
Output aircraft type from the table SFLIGHT using a field symbol:
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <PT>.
    TABLES SFLIGHT.
    ASSIGN SFLIGHT-PLANETYPE TO <PT>.
    WRITE <PT>.
    Addition 1
    ... STRUCTURE s DEFAULT wa
    Effect
Assigns any (internal) field string or structure to the field symbol from the ABAP/4 Dictionary ( s ). All fields of the structure can be addressed by name: <fs>-fieldname . The structured field symbol points initially to the work area wa specified after DEFAULT .
The work area wa must be at least as long as the structure s . If s contains fields of the type I or F, wa should have the structure s or at least begin in that way, since otherwise alignment problems may occur.
    Example
Address components of the flight bookings table SBOOK using a field symbol:
    DATA SBOOK_WA LIKE SBOOK.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <SB> STRUCTURE SBOOK
    DEFAULT SBOOK_WA.
    WRITE: <SB>-BOOKID, <SB>-FLDATE.
    Addition 2
    ... TYPE t
    Addition 3
    ... TYPE LINE OF t
    Addition 4
    ... LIKE s
    Addition 5
    ... LIKE LINE OF s
    Effect
You can use additions 2 to 5 to type field symbols in the same way as FORM parameters (see also Type assignment of subroutine parameters). ASSIGN performs the same type checks as with USING parameters of FORM s.

  • How to use field symbols in program

how to use field symbols can any one explain with example please..
    Regards,
    venki...

    Hi
    Field Symbols
Field symbols are placeholders or symbolic names for other fields. They do not physically reserve space for a field, but point to its contents. A field symbol cam point to any data object. The data object to which a field symbol points is assigned to it after it has been declared in the program.
Whenever you address a field symbol in a program, you are addressing the field that is assigned to the field symbol. After successful assignment, there is no difference in ABAP whether you reference the field symbol or the field itself. You must assign a field to each field symbol before you can address the latter in programs.
Field symbols are similar to dereferenced pointers in C (that is, pointers to which the content operator * is applied). However, the only real equivalent of pointers in ABAP, that is, variables that contain a memory address (reference) and that can be used without the contents operator, are reference variables in ABAP Objects.
All operations programmed with field symbols are applied to the field assigned to it. For example, a MOVE statement between two field symbols moves the contents of the field assigned to the first field symbol to the field assigned to the second field symbol. The field symbols themselves point to the same fields after the MOVE statement as they did before.
You can create field symbols either without or with type specifications. If you do not specify a type, the field symbol inherits all of the technical attributes of the field assigned to it. If you do specify a type, the system checks the compatibility of the field symbol and the field you are assigning to it during the ASSIGN statement.
Field symbols provide greater flexibility when you address data objects:
If you want to process sections of fields, you can specify the offset and length of the field dynamically.
You can assign one field symbol to another, which allows you to address parts of fields.
Assignments to field symbols may extend beyond field boundaries. This allows you to address regular sequences of fields in memory efficiently.
You can also force a field symbol to take different technical attributes from those of the field assigned to it.
The flexibility of field symbols provides elegant solutions to certain problems. On the other hand, it does mean that errors can easily occur. Since fields are not assigned to field symbols until runtime, the effectiveness of syntax and security checks is very limited for operations involving field symbols. This can lead to runtime errors or incorrect data assignments.
While runtime errors indicate an obvious problem, incorrect data assignments are dangerous because they can be very difficult to detect. For this reason, you should only use field symbols if you cannot achieve the same result using other ABAP statements.
For example, you may want to process part of a string where the offset and length depend on the contents of the field. You could use field symbols in this case. However, since the MOVE statement also supports variable offset and length specifications, you should use it instead. The MOVE statement (with your own auxiliary variables if required) is much safer than using field symbols, since it cannot address memory beyond the boundary of a field. However, field symbols may improve performance in some cases.

The syntax check performed in an ABAP Objects context is stricter than in other ABAP areas. See Cannot Use Untyped Field Symbols ad Cannot Use Field Symbols as Components of Classes.

This statement declares a symbolic field called <fs>. At runtime, you can assign a concrete field to the field symbol using ASSIGN. All operations performed with the field symbol then directly affect the field assigned to it.

    Addition 5
    ... LIKE s
    Addition 6
    ... LIKE LINE OF s
    Addition 7
    ... TYPE tabkind
    Effect
You can define the type of the field symbol using additions 2 to 7 (just as you can for FORM parameters (compare Defining the Type of Subroutine Parameters). When you use the ASSIGN statement, the system carries out the same type checks as for USING parameters of FORMs.
This addition is not allowed in an ABAP Objects context. See Cannot Use Obsolete Casting for FIELD SYMBOLS.
In some cases, the syntax rules that apply to Unicode programs are different than those for non-Unicode programs. See Defining Types Using STRUCTURE.
    Effect
Assigns any (internal) field string or structure to the field symbol from the ABAP Dictionary (s). All fields of the structure can be addressed by name: <fs>-fieldname. The structured field symbol points initially to the work area wa specified after DEFAULT.
The work area wa must be at least as long as the structure s. If s contains fields of the type I or F, wa should have the structure s or at least begin in that way, since otherwise alignment problems may occur.

Then create method handler in the view with this code
data lo_view_cntr type ref to if_wd_view_controller.
data lo_win_cntr type ref to if_wd_window_controller.
            data: l_parameter_list type wdr_event_parameter_list,
                  l_parameter type wdr_event_parameter,
                  l_val type ref to data,
                  l_val_url type REF TO data.
            field-symbols: <fs> type any,
                           <fs_url> type any.
            lo_view_cntr  = wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
            lo_win_cntr = lo_view_cntr->get_embedding_window_ctlr( ).
            CREATE DATA l_val type c.
            CREATE DATA l_val_url type string.
            ASSIGN l_val->* to <fs>.
            ASSIGN l_val_url->* to <fs_url>.
            <fs> = 'X'.
            <fs_url> = 'http://your-link.com'.
            l_parameter-name = 'URL'.
            l_parameter-value = l_val_url.
            INSERT l_parameter INTO TABLE l_parameter_list.
            lo_win_cntr->if_wd_view_controller~fire_plug( EXPORTING plug_name = 'EXIT_PLUG'
                                                                    parameters = l_parameter_list ).
You can easily change this logic to exit application instead of redirecting to the site
           just changing to
           l_parameter-name = 'CLOSE_WINDOW'.

  • Beginner ?:  How to align Items in HTML Region so they display nicely?

I am new to Application Express so please be gentle....
I have an HTML region that contains several items/fields that I am using to gather user input. So my Page or HTML region looks something like the example below.....
    Name:__________ Birthdate:_________
    Address: _____________________ City:__________ State: _______
So with the example above in mind how can I get the fields "City" and "Birthdate" to line up nicely on the page so that they would appear something like.....
    Name:__________ Birthdate:_________
    Address: _____________________ City:__________ State: _______
I have tried changing all kinds of things such as Begin on New Line, ...Field, Colspan, Rowspan. In playing with these various settings I am unable to make any headway with aligning the fields on my page so that they display nicely....but I AM making progress at confusing myself as to how AppEx actually stores the labels and fields. I never seem to be able to control the spacing between the fields being displayed.
So with all of that said....is there a way to make page items line up in an HTML region? There seems to be no issue getting the first column of each new row to line up (Begin on New Line = Yes) but when in comes to lining up the 2nd and 3rd fields on a row I am at a lose. Looks like I could also use a lesson in how labels and fields are stored within underlying AppEx HTML tables.
Many thanks in advance for any and all responses.

    Hi Andrei,
Thanks so much for your response...it got me to realize what my issue really was......What you listed above in your response to my plea for help is almost what I had but I was so concentrated on the small fields that I had that I failed to notice that my problem was the text area below those fields which takes up quite a bit of space on the screen...so what I finally realized (bonehead / rookie mistake on my part) was that my fields were lining up in the second column but the second column did not start until the end of the text area.
So I am going to look into moving my text area fields to a separate HTML region so that the smaller sized fields above will line up nicely.
Thanks again for your response and helping me to step back and look again.
    Best regards,
    Shellie
