How to allow, user to enter the free text in smart forms and Drop Down list

Hi Experts,
How to provide the user to enter text in smart forms? ie Once the smartform generated, there the user allowed to enter text.
And also is there any option to provide Dropdown list in smart forms.
Possible give with example with clear idea.
Its very urgent!!!!

Hi!
No, there's no way to it, because Smartform is just like a piece of paper, it can't handle any objects, after it is ready.
It can be printed out/archived/sent on email as an attachment and that's all. It cannot be modified after it is completed.

I'm quite confused, and hope someone could help me.
I have a SQL script which has a field for user entering some comments in command-line.
Whenever I tried to enter something like " it's not bad" in a statement like:
select '&&COMMENTS' from dual;
I got an error message like:
select upper('it's not bad') from dual)
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis
I've tried some other ways such as using INSTR first, but all failed. :(
Could anyone please give me some suggestion?

But I'm afraid that I didn't talk about it clearly.
I just wonder if there is a way for the user to enter the quotation only once, then I write some codes for the procession.
Otherwise I've got to keep reminding them to enter it twice. :(

How do I increase the number of lines presented in a drop down list?

When I am entering a single character/number for each of a random selection of three letters in a password verification, I get a drop down list from A to S only, the first 20. Accessing letter T to number 9 means scrolling down. How can I increase the number of lines in a drop down box to 36?

If you are taking about an interface on a website, this is up to the ui designer. But there is a reflow that depends on screensize for the Firefox UI.

Create a drop down list that populates based on the selection form another drop down list.

I need to set up a drop down list that is popualated (i.e. displays a certain list of selctions in the drop down list) based on the choise the form user selects in an adjacent List
For example
There are two drop down list field sitting side by side in the form
1. Select State 2. Select Course
What I want to do is have a list of states in the first drop down list (1.Select State) and depending on which state the form user selects , the second drop down list (2.Select Course) will populate with a selction of courses available in that selected state only (i.e. it will on;y show course available in QLD if QLD is selcted).
Is this hard to do?

How To Allow User To Enter "$" In A Number Field

I have a form that includes various numeric fields in which the user should enter dollar values. It works fine if the user enters a number WITHOUT a dollar sign. Suppose the user enters "1234", the field will display "$1,234.00", which is exactly what I want. However, if the user decides to change the value, clicks on the field, and replaces the "00" with "56" then when they leave the field it will display "$0.00". I've figured out this is because they left the dollar sign in the field when editing.
So, how can I fix the validation or other settings so that someone could enter "$1234" and have it show "$1,234.00" instead of "$0.00"?

Have you applied patterns on the numeric field? select pattern like $1,234.21 in Display and Edit TAB of Patterns- Numeric Field dialog box and then check.

Hi,
If you drag an imageField onto the page, when the user clicks on this at runtime, they will be prompted to select an image file.
There is an example of that in this form: http://assure.ly/j1KdNq.
There are more image field examples on our site, but I don't think any of them are set up for the user to select an image. http://assure.ly/ozrNSO.

Either U can make Use of XmlHttp Object through javascript(AJAX way).
Or U need to Maintain the State of the entire form and then refresh the page to get those results....

What do you mean?
There isn't a real limit, if a text can't be listed in only one rows, it'll be splitted in several lines.
Anyway the limit dipends on the sizes of the windows where the text has to be printed.
So there isn't a limit for the MAIN, but only for the constant windows.

Why did my right click and drop down lists suddenly stopped working in firefox? How do get it fixed?

I have the latest firefox there is and one day when i opened it, the right click button stopped working. Then even the drop down litsts stopped working. For example if i click on the firefox icon in the top left corner, nothing happens. I have tried to reinstall firefox. No help. I don't know what to do. So if don't get rid of the problem I guess I'll just have to swich to another broswer, because this is a really really anoying bug...

How to allow user to enter new values in a segmnt which's having a ValueSet

Hi Gurus
I am having a DFF segment where user needs the following validation. I have to check whether the value entered by user is having status number as 5 in a custom table. I can do this by Table type Validation.
But the problem here is, they should also be able to enter new values which not in that table.
How i can achieve this. Appreciate your help on this.

Value sets allow only for standar list for validation, not a combobox that is what may help You to achieve what You want. You either have a restricted list or an open field to type whatever matches the format restrictions.
For what You specify, I see no reason on having a table validation is the user can after all enter new values, perhaps it's to have the table values as references and avoid duplicates. Workarounds may be:
Add an "others" value to the table, and enable another segment to enter new values and add custom validation to avoid duplicates and insert the new values to the table for future use.
Have an independent value set and add a customization to avoid duplicates (more difficult considering typos) and insert new values.

I need help with a work project. I need to create forms for our trainers to use on site. I have Adobe XI Pro and can do the basics, however I would love for the trainers to be able to submit photo's, video etc with their PDF forms. Can anyone tell me how I can get Adobe XI Pro to insert an image field, so when the trainers are conducting an assessment they can take a photo with their ipad and embed into a designated area on the form? I would be ever so grateful.

How to restrict user to not switch other view in infopath form.

I created two views. both we can see when we open in infopath form in drop down list.
But I want to restrict this for some users or group.
If one user will open infopath form he will not be able to switch other view and other user open he can switch both view.

You should be able to do this. Try the following:
1.) create a button somewhere in your form (choose a spot you like) - I put mine in the top of form.
2.) label it Card Access Letter View if you are on View 1 and then add another button to CardAccessLetter and call it view 1
3.) create a data connection to get the current user info from Profile Services -

4.) create a hidden text box "Currentusername" and set a form load rule to populate the hidden text box with the current user's name using profile services "Preferred Name".
5.) create another text box that is hidden and call it something like ViewChangeFlagOK. Set the default value to false
6.) click on the form load rules box and create a new rule. name the rule and then enter your conditions: Currentusername is equal to "enter user name" or (repeat as needed) . Rule type = Action. Set a fields value to ViewChangeFlagOK =
True
7.) Navigate back to your button you created and add a rule. Condition = View changeflagok is not equal to true, Hide this control.
add another rule to the button. condition= Rule runs when button is clicked- Switch to other view.
this should solve your problem. Appropriate users will be able to switch views using a button, not the ribbon control, but should solve your problem nonetheless.
