How to approve timecards that have been sitting in manager's queue

Hello All,
Oracle Applications verison: 11.5.10.2
RDBMS : 10.2.0.4.0
Workflow Builder 2.6.3.5
I have a technical requirement to "pick up" submitted timecards and immediately approve them when they have been sitting and waiting for too long in their manager's queue for approval. This happens when a manager is out on vacation (and forgets to delegate), sick, lazy, etc...
We have some specific business rules on when we want this to happen (after two weeks, certain employees only, with some other rules around payroll run times etc...) so I don't think it's just a "timeout" that I need to modify. I'm kind of a newbie with workflow but have been using PL/SQL longer than I can remember. I'm guessing there is more than one way to do this so I'm looking for some advice on how to make it happen. Is there a way to just find these submitted timecards in the workflow and force the approval, bypassing any other processes that may exist? Can I simply do this through PL/SQL by calling an approval API or an approval workflow process and NOT have to hack the living daylights out of the existing HXCEMP workflow?
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Another alternative is to make use of db package dba_jobs and create a job to run periodically (weekly or so) and call a procedure that will basically look for those notifications and check the begin_date and so on and then respond to them if it meets your criteria.
You will need to set the result of the response:
begin
WF_NOTIFICATION.SetAttrText(nid => l_nid, aname => 'RESULT', avalue => 'APPROVE'); --or whatever the result is
WF_NOTIFICATION.Respond(nid => l_nid, respond_comment => 'Approved from PLSQL', responder => 'ME', action_source => 'WA');
end;
You get the point...
Regards,
Alejandro

  • How to retrieve files that have been accidentally permanently deleted?

I'm not sure how but some of my files just got deleted by accident.
They have been emptied from trash!
Is there any way i can retrive them?
    PLEASE!
    i'm desperate!
    These file are very important!

Were they important enough to back up?
If not, there are data recovery programs you can use. If you can, stop using the computer (because more use will increase the chance of the files being overwritten), and download (to another computer, if possible, which you can connect via Firewire) Data Rescue.
You can use it as a demo to tell you what files it can find - and then you can decide to purchase the software to enable you to recover them.

  • How to delete resources that have been reference or used somewhere else ?

Is there a way to delete resources even if they have been referenced in some other resource or used in PPMs or Orders etc ?
    I'll look forward to replies.
    Regards,
    Ranjini.

Thanks Sai but I cannot delete resources using /sapapo/res01 or /sapapo/scc07 unless I remove the resources from all the planning versions which in turn cannot be removed unless we remove all their dependencies which can be a really time consuming process.
Thats why I wanted to know if there is some report to delete the resources inspite of these dependencies.

  • How to compare colors that have been printed in RYB colors

    Hi everone
I want to be able find the difference between to two colors. The complication is that these colors were print/created back in the 1930 or earlier, i assume using inks/pigments combined using the RYB color model. I'm trying to find out how much an original color has either been faded by the sun or washed out by some liquid (water, bleach, etc) in terms of it's Red, Yellow and Blue componence. I need to use Red, Yellow and Blue because when the original color is faded then either all or part of the Yellow is removed (Original Green color fades to Blue), or all or part of the Red is removed (Original Orange color fades to Yellow).
If i use the example of Green fading to Blue, i first want to be able to determine if the Green color has enough Blue component to create the faded Blue color (when the yellow is removed), and secondly the amount of yellow removed. I can use percentages of RYB colors if it includes the percentage of White and Black.
I currently have Photoshop elements but will upgrade to Photoshow CS5 (or any other Adobe sofeware) if need.
    Thanks for you time casryb

    Hi,
As Alan mentioned, you could enable Print Queue Logging to monitor the printing actions. For details, please refer to the following articles.

  • How to recover notes that have been deleted

I Have deleted my notes by mistake and I'd like to know how to recover them without connecting to a computer

If you are using Notes with iCloud, (if you use iCllud mail) and you have deleted them, they are gone. Once you delete them from one device, they are gone from everywhere. So if you delete them from the iPad, they are gone from iCloud, your iPhone and your computer. If you were using Notes from a third party  and backing up with iTunes, you couldn't recover them without restoring the backup from iTunes.

  • How can I tell how long a request has been sitting on an execute queue?

Is it possible to determine (in WL 8.1 and/or 10.3) how long an HTTP request has been sitting on the execute queue before being assigned to a servlet?
Under heavy load, I'm finding that the caller times out by the time the servlet tries to write the response because the request has been waiting on the execute queue for too long. To prevent doing all the work to process the request, I want to be able to see how long the request has been waiting to determine whether it's worth processing the request.
Currently I use the getExecuteThreadTotalCount() method in ExecuteQueueRuntimeMBean and assume that if the count is high, the request has probably been waiting for a while, but getting the actual time on the queue would be much better.
    Thanks.

Further investigation and a bunch of speed tests later, I'm even more puzzled. Between 7 pm and 9pm this evening, download speed has been consistently at 112kb, except for the 1 in 10 occasions where it hits 1.5mb, for 30 or 40 seconds, before dropping back to 112kb.
Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?
    thanks in advance
    Ben

  • How can i remove items from list that have been deleted when i click on them it keeps showing empty

how can i remove items from the list that have been deleted when i click on them it keeps showing folder empty

Actually, Reader SHOULD keep showing documents that no longer exist, I disagree. It's no big deal, and people will quickly realise why they can't open the file. They open more files, the old ones move off.
The REASON why it should not check is that checking whether a file exists can take a long time when things aren't good. For instance if a file server goes down, or a memory card is unplugged. That in turn would mean delays opening the File menu, and I've seen some software that can sit there for several minutes. That would really give people something of which to complain...

  • How can I handle deploying multiple test systems on the same PC that have been developed using different versions of LabVIEW, TestStand, and/or Switch Executive?

The major issue here is that the test systems must be documented and validated before being released to the production floor. Given this if a test station has multiple test systems deployed on it that have been developed on various versions of LV, TS, and Switch exec how can I force the test system selected to use the correct versions of TS, LV, and Switch exec.? I understand that the solution would be to recomplie everything and bring them up to the latest version but that would then require re-validation according to the QA department. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
It would be nice if theTS deployment was more like an LV executable... meaning when a LV executable is launched it always knows what LV runtime engine to use when there are multiple engines installed on a PC.

    Hi,
Multiply versions of teststand can reside on the same system, but only one version can run at a time. They is a utility that has to be run to set the active version.
The SequenceFiles have a version number, and you will find an error will be generate if you try to Load the sequencefile in the wrong version of TestStand.
The labview VIs will only work providing the correct version of the RTE is also installed on your system, even a labview executabe requires the correct RTE to be installed, either as part of the executable installation or as a seperate installation, before the labview exe will work correctly.
I'm not fimilar with the Switch exec but I would expect that it will also require the correct lower level device drivers to be available for the version you are using.
Therefore, as you are indicating that some of your system are at  a older version, its difficult to image how you could achive this, considering if you say you have different versions of the software(s). For a start, you may have the problem that newer code/ sequencefiles using additional functionatily not available in the older versions.
I would think your only solution would  be to have different deployments covering the different versions you have, or at least bring all your test systems up to the same version of teststand.

  • In a PrC, how to delete data from the PSA that have been loaded in Prcs Chn

    Hello,
In a process chain, how can I delete the data from the PSA that have been loaded within that process chain. I don't want to delete data that belongs to other business units that use the same datasource.
    Thanks,
    Andre

I dont think so you can achieve that, PSA is actually datasource dependent.
One you load from a datasource to PSA.That is accesible by multiple DTPs if you have created so.
As you said "I don't want to delete data that belongs to other business units that use the same datasource."
If you delete the PSA, you may have to repull the data from source system again and if thats delta it wont work out.
As said by above ppl you can include the "Delete PSA" in process chain but choose some 15 days buffer.
    Hope this helps.

How do I save photos that have been synced to my Ipad2, so that they do not get deleted when I sync with a different photo foder on my computer (Pc win7).

Place that first folder of photos that you synced to the iPad within the main folder of photos that you sync from and select them to sync again. You can place any number of subfolders within the main folder that you sync from and select those folders to sync. Just "tick"(select) the folders in the photos tab in iTunes.

  • How to check the sales orders that have been created with an Rebate Agreeme

    Dear Experts,
Do you know how to check the sales orders that have been created with an Rebate Agreements?
    Thanks!!

    Hi Hoo Laa,
I have one way but little lengthy.
Rebate condition always appears in the billing document.
So 1st you extract the sales order list from Table VBAK.
once you have the sales order list then you can put your order list in Table VBFA --> Extract the billing document list.
Now put that list in the table VBRK.
In VBRK you will get the "Doc. condition" --> put that doc condition in table KONV with your rebate condition type.
    It will show the result.
Later, through VLOOKUP you can identify in which order you have given rebate to your customer.
    Already said, Little lengthy
