How to automatically check components against databases
How can I have Multisim automatically check the components in my design against
the databases when Multisim loads the design?
I know I can manually check the components by selecting <Tools><Update
components> but I would prefer to have this done automatically for me upon
loading my design to catch needed updates before I transfer the design to
Ultiboard.

Multisim does no check the schematic parts against the database automatically; you have to update it manually. To be honest, I prefer the schematic to remain the same unless I tell it to update.
Before you export the design to PCB, you should know which part you will buy and then change the footprint accordingly. If you export the design, then try to find parts to meet the default package from Multisim, this method is a lot harder.

SonThere's certainly no standard full-screen command in Windows, because there's no such concept. That's something that each program decides for itself. You could try seeing if the different browsers can process command line switches to open at full screen or whether they have some addons (like GreaseMonkey) which will allow you to automatically run the full-screen command when the browser loads.
Some other alternatives:
Simulate an F11 key press.
Send the F11 window message to the browser.
Display the browser in an ActiveX or .NET control on a front panel, the size of which you can control.

Osx "HP Scan" -- how to automatically suffix numbers/dates to saved files
I moved my setup from Windows to OSX recently. I used the HP Scan application on Windows, and that had the ability to save files using names that were automatically generated, provided a prefix is configured. The application would automatically include an incremented serial number based on the files already present in the destination folder. Eg Scan0001.pdf, Scan0002.pdf, etc... and i don't have to take care of the numbering.
In the OSX HP Scan app (it reports Version 4.4.1, and i am using it on a HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus), how do i achieve the same functionality?
The Save dialog allows me to enter a 'Prefix'. So it suggests the same functionality exists. But i don't find any help or indication on how to enable it. Am i supposed to enter some template placeholders for this to work? If so, what is the syntax for that? And where is it documented?
Without this feature, i might as well start looking for new scan software.

I read through your post about wanting the scans on your Mac OS X, the same way they saved on your Windows OS.
On your Mac, the scans will not quite save the same way. To describe this, for example, you would need to be scanning a multiple page document as single files. As they save on your computer, you can select a name, such as "Scan" and as each scan comes in, it will save as "Scan1, Scan2, Scan3, etc". If you are not scanning a multiple page document, this method won't work.

Thanks for the answer. I'm trying to deploy the profile that I've created on all my laptops. But i'm facing an issue for a while.
When the profile is deployed on a laptop, Access Connections finds a new ethernet port and asks to assign it a profile. But the problem is that Access Connection don't allow me to assign it to my wired profile, only to my wireless profile and that doesn't make sens to me. Besides, it is written in the dialogue box that ethernet profiles are disable for the match of the new port...
Is there any way to assign the new port to the new profile without human interaction or just how to make the wired profile available when access connection is launched and find a new ethernet connection

How to automatically screw an adjustable resistor by motion?
Hello guys
I am facing to a PCBA problem. There is an adjustable resistor with a small screw on it to adjust. The size of the resistor is 9mmX4mmX8mm, and the diameter of screw on it is about 2mm. This resistor is designed for adjust the sensitivity of the device. In production, I need to adjust it automatically to make the device at a default value.
In my opinion, a step motor is a good choice for this kind of application. The risk here is if the resistor is not solderred accurately, i.e. a little bit lean or shift, it's difficult to handle the screw. I'm hot to look for a better solution on this.

as long as the screw is in place, I agree, that a stepper motor (or 2, 3 or 4, depending if you need to position the screwdriver over the screw or if this is done by the guidance of the PCB) should be a good solution for your applilcation.
If there is a chance of significant tilt, things could become very complex:
First you would have to detect the tilt, which could be done by a machine vision system (potentially two cameras required). By the way, a camera might be required anyway to find the initial angle of the slot of the screw. Then you would have to adjust the angle of the screwdriver which might require up to 6 degrees of freedom. So you might end up with a full blown articulated robot here.
On the other hand I could also think of a low cost solution: Maybe you could replace the screwdriver by a kind of a hard rubber tool that could be pressed onto the screw. If this tool has enough friction without pressing the screw too hard, this might be an option.

Hi There,
Hoping you guys can help me out here. I am running a competition where users have to fill out a form to go in the competition. I am using the Event Module and then placing a web form inside the event. I am also using the form to subscribe users to a secure zone.
I am getting the user to specify a username and password on the form. Is there a way that I can display an error when the form is submitted, if they are using the same username as one already stored in the CRM?
At the moment it gives an error if the same email address has been used but I need it to also show an error if the same username has been used.

I synced my iTunes with my iPhone 5. some of the titles on't match the songs. I checked my iTunes database, it is the latest version, and the titles and songs all match. So how do I fix this on my iPhone?
Sounds like you may need to re-download the entire albums from iTunes. See this KB article for how to download past purchases: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.
I'd suggest doing it one album at a time. Delete one, download it from your purchase histor, then the next, etc. -

as far as I know, for Forms on the Web there isn't yet a way to do this. In the upcoming release Oracle 10G Forms (9.0.4) and Oracle Application Server 10G OID can be used to authenticate against Windows domains. This way you could use SSO for what you want. I am saying this carefully because I didn't tried it but took it from the OID specs.

Essbase Product Existence Check Fails against the Shared Services Server
Hello Everyone,
I am a new to Essbase
When I am launching the EAS web console and trying to log in, its giving me an error saying "Could not connect to Administration Server".
I looked in ESSBASE log file its showing an error 1051429 : "Essbase Product Existence Check Fails against the Shared Services Server with Error []"
This error actually started when I copied an Essbase Application from one of my computers to another computer. All I simply did is copied the application folder into "app" folder. I am not sure if migration
is possible just by copying and pasting the application folders. I am not sure if doing this messed up security with shared services. Also under c:\hyperion\essbase folder I see another text file named "SharedServices_Security_Client".

The SQL server itself is not running or TCP/IP is disabled. That can be confirmed by runing netstat and see it is listed there.
Then run telnet chandan 1433 and see it can connect

Need your help i have a strange situation
1) F-48 and document posted with document no = 15..... in company code = L002 with payment block getting populated automatically
2) F-48 and document posted with document no= 15..... in company code = Us11 without payment block and the screen does not even show payment block, I had to check this from BSEG table
My question is
a) How and where does this payment block is triggered through configured and how to process next steps.
b) when I use F-48, how do we do the actual payment, is there a check printing and linking it to the KZ document or is check printing done outside the system and the KZ document type does not have any linkage.
c) If I do FB60 for a higher amount how do we pay partial amount.

How to find the last refresh of database?

Can someone tell me how to find when was the last refresh of a database was done.Now it is much better!!!
1. If the cloning was done using a cold backup of
database, how can we know when was the last cloning
on testing db done.If the cloned database has been opened with RESETLOGS option, you can try checking out V$DATABASE.RESETLOGS_TIME. if the V$DATABASE.CREATED is not equal to V$DATABASE.RESETLOGS_TIME...there is a possibility that it might be opened with resetlogs option. I don't have the required set up to check and confirm this myself....but this is something you can get it a shot.
2. If export/import utility is used for this purpose,
the how can we find out the last time the testing db
was 'refreshed'?If import was used, check the object creation timestamps of majority of them...may be it will help you find the required information.

How do you spell check a field?
How are people spell checking their fields?
In searching around, I have only found (a) suggestions to yank the text into MS Word, do a spell check, then yank the resulting text into the field; (b) software from DC AL CODA that we aren't clear how they actually work (http://www.dcalcoda.com).
Specifically, my manager wants a tool that'll interface with Oracle like this: give a table name and a field name and be asked about each spelling error, much like an email spell check. The tool would change things as you ask, directly in the database. You wouldn't have to cut and paste into it and back to the db fields.
We aren't using forms. We use SQL*Plus, Quest Software's TOAD, and our own Java servlets (using JDBC to enter SQL statements).
I would love to hear how people do their spell checking.
Hopefully this is an appropriate forum for this question. There doesn't seem to be a general or SQL forum. Our database tables include a fair amount of text that shows up on Web pages. These are the fields we want to spell check.I thought I'd reply to my own question since I found a workable solution, at least for our office which has MS Windows.
MS Access can connect directly to an Oracle data source. Access has a spell checking feature where you can select a field and spell check it. Below are tips and instructions for doing this.
TIPS:
It's surely a good idea to back up tables and be the only person or process changing those tables during the spell check.
One thing to watch for is whether the entire table comes in. At the bottom of the screen is a >* button which seems to get all fields. For large tables, you have to hit this button before you get the entire table.
Another glitch is that all of the given database user's tables show up in one list box -- makes for some painful scrolling, but all of the tables are listed.
A much smaller glitch is that if you widened any of the fields in the view of the table, when you close the window, it asks if you want to save the formatting. It has nothing to do with saving the data (that is automatic). It's safe to say no.
The spell check doesn't recognize HTML tags (asks about "br"s from <br> tags) but seems to know to ignore things like "
How to set up an ODBC Data Source in Windows:
1. MS Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> ODBC Data Sources (32 bit)
2. Drivers tab, scroll down and select Oracle ODBC Driver
3. OK
4. User DSN tab, Add...
5. Select Oracle ODBC Driver and Finish
6. Make up a data source name (example: src)
7. Enter a description for it
8. For Service name, put what your service name is (for an SQL*Plus connection, 'usr/passwd@svc', this is 'svc')
9. For UserID, put your user id (for an SQL*Plus connection, 'usr/passwd@svc', this is 'usr')
10. Ignore the rest of the fields, click OK
11. Another OK.
How to use Access to Spell Check an ODBC Data Source Field:
0. Install Access from (MS Office 2000).
1. Start Access (by the way, you might find it way down the list in Start -> Programs).
2. Open file, in the file type box, scroll to the end: ODBC Databases. You'll get a dialog.
3. Machine Data Source tab, select the name you gave it (src in step 6 above)
4. You'll be prompted for the password (for an SQL*Plus connection, 'usr/passwd@svc', this is 'passwd')
5. Select from the huge list of every table the table you want. Ok.
5.a. If the table has no key, you'll be prompted for the unique key from a list of all fields.
6. Double click the item that has just been added to the dialog that remains on the screen. It'll have a globe next to text like USR_TABLENAME. This brings up a randomly sized first chunk of the table.
7. To make sure you get the entire table, on the paging buttons on the bottom (|< < > >| >*), click >*. It may take a few moments to get a huge table.
8. Click the heading of the field (column) you want to spell check). This selects the entire column.
9. Hit spell check (ABC checkmark tool or Tools -> Spelling)
10. Check away. The changes are made immediately to the database.
11. Close the table display window.

How to understand entire structure of Present Database when new to the job?

I got a question this morning, which I was not able to answer myself to the satisfaction!
If ever I need to find out the entire structure of my database, what should be the method that can be implemented?
We can see the init<SID>.ora file, and we can use some dynamic vies like V$DATABASE, V$DATAFILE and etc.
But how to put the final structure of the database which can be understood by everyone?
Can somebody help me out in this?

1. Oracle Instance
Look in v$parameter: Here you would get the structure of the SGA and what optional background processes are configured.
- check for the database block size
- check for the size of shared pool
- check for the size of database buffer cache
- check for the size of redo log buffer
- check for the size of sort area size
- check if the control files are mirrored on separate disk
- check if the Oracle server is in shared mode
- check for the number of DB writers
- check if the undo management is auto
- check if archiving is on
2. Oracle Database
Look in dba_tablespaces, dba_data_files, v$log, v$logfile
- look for the total database size
- look for the log files and log file mirroring
- look for the total size of rollback/undo segment
- look for the size of temporary tablespace
- look for the total number of schemas
Using the above information you should be able to sketch the Oracle server structure

MacBook Pro will not wake on Mavericks
Since upgrading to Mavericks whenever my 15" Retina MacBook Pro sleeps it won't wake and I have to do a hard restart. It also crashes Chrome and parallels. Anyone else having similar problems?
