How to block particular function module for user or users

Hi,
Can anyone let me know that if I want to prevent users for certain function module or modules.Is it possible to do so.Please let me know.

Please take note that there are hundreds of thousands of function modules in any one SAP system (see table TFDIR) and a large number of them can do very very powerfull and even dangerous things when executed on their own in the test mode.
It shounds as if you are only worried about only one (probably some famous one...) and want to range around it's name. This is not a good idea and will not work anyway.

   Related to my thread, there was one thread in the forum,to find out the function module for a particular object.I tried the solution provided my our experts but couldn't got the results.Thats why i am putting this thread again.
I want to find out the function modules used for the particular object, i.e. Production order.
   solution i tried is, first go to T.C SE37, then in function module field put the object name like Production order and enter, than it will show another screen, there also put object name in function module field and than press enter, it will show all the function modules available for that object.
    So could you guys help me out to find out where i am wrong in the process of finding out the function module for a particular object.
                       Plz don't bother abt the point.Helpful answers will definitely get awarded.

When the problem is solved please give points too. Otherwise why people will help others, give time and share their valuable knowledge. This will build up self confidence.
If not solved and closing, then mention the difficulties what u exactly looking for. Simpy closing is not enough because who ever is providing solution will not able to know the real problem.
How to give points I believe u already know that and need not explain.
I had seen many times this problem with others too. Even if the problem is totally resolved they give 2 in stead of 10.

Hi,
You can create a lock on a object of SAP thorugh transaction SE11 and enter any meaningful name start with EZ Example EZTEST_LOCK.
Use: you can see in almost all transaction when you are open an object in Change mode SAP could not allow to any other user to open the same object in change mode.
Example: in HR when we are enter a personal number in master data maintainance screen SAP can't allow to any other user to use same personal number for changes.
Technicaly:
When you create a lock object System automatically creat two function module.
1. ENQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. to insert the object in a queue.
2. DEQUEUE_<Lockobject name>. To remove the object is being queued through above FM.
You have to use these function module in your program.
Hope this will give a basic idea.

To find the function modules for standard tables you go for a where used list of that particular table and check only function module interfaces checkbox...
and more over you can go for DB_UPDATE_TABLE will be the function module for updating database table..

Can anyone tell me is there any way to find the standard function module for IDOC. I have checked BD60 but it's not available. For example Idoc type WPUBON01 and I need to know the function module. Can anyone tell me the way out.
Secondly, if anyone can provide me the code to map the file fields and idoc segements.

Use WE82 to find message type associated with Idoc type.
Then use this message type as a search string to find the FM.
The associated FMs are.

How to block a single table for a single user

Hi all.
I want to block a single Z table for a single user. How to do this? If he/she tries to display data using SE16 or SE11 Tcode he/she should get an error message.

Hi Prajwal,
We can use the function modules ENQUEUE_E_TABLE for locking tables and the function module DEQUEUE_E_TABLE for unlocking tables. With this method, we don't need to lock objects in order to lock the tables. In other words, any table can be locked/unlocked using these function modules.
Check this sample code:

How to know the function module for a message type

how can i know the function modules used ( based on message type can i know it?) in inbound idoc processing.

You can find out the Functionmodule if you know the message type.
Go to WE20, find the message type for hte relevant partner type by clicking the partner type and then clicking one partner int hat partner type.
Now on the right hand side, you will get a screen. Based on whether it is your outbound IDOC or ibound, click the relevant parameters, select the message type and double click.
In the new screen open the Message control tab and fidn out the process code of the IDOC.
Now go to WE41 if ur IDOC is outbound or WE42 for inbound IDOC.
Search for the process code which is assigned to the message type in WE20.
Double click the process code, you will see the relevant function module in the 3rd field.

I have created a customized IDOC. Can any body explain how to assign a FM for customized IDOC? Is same IDOC can be used for both Outbound and Inbound Process? In WE41 and WE42 we have to give the outbound and inbound function module name. can we give same function module? Is process code is same for both outbound and inbound process?

Here is the Procedure for the Inbound Idoc Funtion Module
Function Module : SE37
Message : WE81
Assign message : WE82
Assgin FM : we57
Process Code : WE42.
Assign Partner Profile - WE20,
To test the Inbound IDOC.
In WE19, Give the IDOC number & execute ... then put the cursor on the idoc control record . then click on the Standard Inbound push button on the application tool bar.it will show show all the details like partner no,type , message type , process code & function module name ...
now put a break point in the function module .. & debug .
if u r using customised inbound function module , then click on inbound function module .. there u will get a pop screen with FM name & debugging option in both background & foreground mode...

i want to create a function module with some fields.when i activated it give some errors for

Hi Sreenu,
While creating CURRENCY/QUANTITY fields in the DataBase Table, you have to enter a REFERENCE TABLE and a REFERENCE FIELD to the field.
For that, after entering the field name and the data type in the correcponding columns, you have to place the cursor on the data type of the required field and click the CURRENCY/QUANTITY FIELDS tab. You will find two columns called REFERENCE TABLE and a REFERENCE FIELD.
you have to enter a reference table in which a currency/quantity field is used and a reference field which is a currency/quantity field in that table.
For Example, below is the table details.
FIELD DATATYPE LENGTH DEC.PLACES REF.TABLE REF.FIELD
1.SNO     CHAR 5
2.AMOUNT CURR 10     2          T001      WAERS
3.NOS     QUAN 5                 KNA1      /VSO/R_PAL_UL
Here Field 2(AMOUNT) is a CURR field whose Ref. Table is T001 and Ref. Field is WAERS and Field 3(NOS) is a QUAN field whose Ref. Table is KNA1 and Ref. Field is /VSO/R_PAL_UL.

Function Module for Discover Credit Card

We have Payment Credit Card types set up in the SAP system as American Express, Master Card and Visa Card. These use the following Function Modules CCARD_CHECK_AMEX, CCARD_CHECK_MC and CCARD_CHECK_VISA respectively.
We want to add Discover Credit Card. Does anybody know how to create a Function Module for it, or where do I get the specifications for the sme?

Hello Sujeet,
have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Credit_card for the checksum of Credit Card's. I think this function is implemented in CCARD_CHECK_LUHN_MOD_TEN. I think you should try to copy CCARD_CHECK_VISA to Z_CCARD_CHECK_DISCOVER and adapt this module to your needs.

Business Application Programming Interfaces (BAPIs) are the standard interfaces provide to enable access to SAP functions across formal, stable, and dialog-free interfaces. These interfaces can be used by external applications developed by customers and complementary software partners as well as by other SAP applications.
BAPIs can be used for these types of integration:
Connecting R/3 Systems to the Internet using the SAP Business Connector or Internet Application Components (IACs)
BAPIs also allow the creation of true component software, as they enable standardized communication between SAP components. The ultimate objective is to encapsulate the functionality of the SAP system in independent business components that are integrated through a common interface (the BAPIs).

I think you are going completely astray with you z-function module for IDoc processing.
If you look at TABLES parameter METERREADINGRESULTS (type BAPIEABLU ) of BAPI_MTRREADDOC_UPLOAD you will find many of the requested fields already:

EABL-ZWNUMMER =>REGISTER
EABLG-ABLESGR
EABL-V_ZWSTAND
EABL-N_ZWSTAND
EABL-ABLHINW
EABL-ZSKIPC
EABL-ADAT
EABL-ATIMTATS => ACTUALMRTIME
EABL-ADATTATS => ACTUALMRDATE
EABL-ATIM
EABL-ZMESSAGE
EABL-ABLESER(Meter reader number)
Field EABL-ZMESSAGE appears to be custom field (at least I cannot find it on ECC 6.0). If this field was added using include CI_EABL then you probably can get these values into the BAPI using the EXTENSIONIN parameter.
Check routine CHECK_UPLOADRECORDS in the BAPI which allows two extension structures:
- BAPI_TE_EABL
- BAPI_TE_EOSB
Not surprisingly BAPI_TE_EABL contains the include CI_EABL.
