How to cancel printing jobs that are in the queue? Model is : HP Laserjet 3055

I wanted to print a 200 page book from my laptop, so I pluged in the printer to the laptop and pressed print on laptop. Then immediately decided not to print it, so I pressed cancel on printer. But the job has not been canceled at all. Every time I try to print something the it always starts with the job I wanted to cancel in the beginning. And on the laptop the message block asks if I wish to add to printing queue.
I would like to cancel the job that is sitting in the queue on the printer for good, if anyone can advise please help me, very desperate!!!
Thank you

    Welcome to the forums LucyRicky!
I understand you are looking to cancel print jobs with your Officejet 8610. I have found 2 guides for you to show you how to cancel them.

  • UNABLE TO CANCEL PRINT JOB THAT KEEPS PRINTING SAME COPIES

How do you cancel print job on a HP Deskjet D1520 with Windows Vista?
    THANKS!

Since this printer does not have a physical "Cancel" button, the easiest way of stopping a document print is to clear the document from the Print Queue.
To remove a document from the print queue manually:
    1. Depending upon your operating system, do one of the following:
    • Windows Vista: On the Windows taskbar, click Start, click Control Panel, and
    then click Printers.
    • Windows XP: On the Windows taskbar, click Start, click Control Panel, and
    then click Printers and Faxes.
    • Windows 2000: On the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to Settings, and
    then click Printers.
    2. Double-click the icon for your product to open the print queue.
    3. On the Printer menu, highlight the document, click Cancel or Purge Print Document,
and then click Yes to confirm.
Now, if the document has already started printing and you want to stop it before it finishes; then simply lift the top access door which will pause printing. Remove the document from the print queue now. If it is no longer in the print queue, then power off the printer. Wait about 30 seconds and power on the printer again. This should have stopped the document from printing.

  • How to cancel print job?

My HP 1200 won't stop printing.  It started printing gobbydygook - 1 line a page - and it won't stop.  The document has been deleted on my computer, and the printer ran out of paper.  Two weeks later, when I add paper, it starts over again.  I unplugged it, and replugged it and it still wants to print this.  What do I do?

Make sure the document is really deleted in the print queue.  You did not say what operating system, I'll assume some Windows.
Start > Control Panel > Printers.  Double-click the printer, select File > Cancel all print jobs.
    Now, restart your PC.
Finally, turn off the printer, unplug power from the back of the printer (not the wall), wait 30 seconds and plug back in and turn on.

  • How do you print comments that extend beyond the field?

I have created a form in LiveCycle Designer 8.0.  It contains a text field that allows recipients to write "beyond the size of the field" if they desire.  When we recieve the completed form, of course, we can view the extended comments by clicking on the + sign.  But, when we print the form the comments are cut off at the end of the box.  How can we print the entire comment directly from the PDF without having to cut and paste into another document?  Thanks.

One easy way to resolve this is to change your form to a dynamic form and make that field expandable. To do this, save the file as "Adobe Dynamic XML Form". You will need to change the layout of your form to make it Flowed vs. positioned but before you do that, you will want to prepare the form for this.
Flowed forms layout the fields for you and place each field below the last so you can't control the layout. Positioned layout allows you to put the objects wherever you want with the caveat that you can't expand fields.
What you want to do, is highlight all fields that are positioned and wrap them into a subform. Leave the field you want to expand out of this subform. Then, on the page in Hierarchy view, select the page and the object view and choose Subform "Flowed". Now, on the object that you want to expand with text entry, do the following: on object view, check "allow multiple lines" and "allow page breaks within content"; under layout under height check "expand to fit". Click save and preview. Make sure to change preview settings to Preview Type: Interactive; Preview Adobe XML Form as: Dynamic XML Form.
I will try and attach an example.

  • My old windows is on an external drive, how do retrieve firefox bookmarks that are on the drive?

I had windows 7 on drive C, now I got new computer with a new windows 7 and I'm using the old drive (C) as an external hard drive, it still has all program files and windows files on it. How do I retrieve my old book marks that are on that hard drive, I did not back them up before.

You can find the Firefox Profile Folder in this location (replace the x with the proper drive letter):
    * x:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and later Windows 7+ versions are hidden folders.
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

  • How to update SP2010 sites that are missing the Visual Upgrade options

So, we are moving towards upgrading some SP 2010 sites that are currently using the old SP 2007 look and feel so that they have the new ribbon Visual Upgrade.
For some reason, some of these sites do not have the Site Actions > Visual Upgrade option nor do they have the Site Actions > Site Settings > Visual Upgrade link.
Does anyone know what can be done to make those available?

  • How to E-mail movies that are in the iPhone 4s Video app

I recently had to wipe my 4s to check a potential send/receive timeout with Verizon FiOS E-mail (that issue is still unresolved).  When I originally purchased the unit, all the pictures and videos that were on my old Blackberry were transferred to the 4s.  I exported the entire Camera Roll to my PC prior to the wipe/re-install.
I was able to use drop the pictures into the "My Photo Stream\Uploads folder on my PC.  The Photos are now back in my Camera Roll and can beemailed by the unit.
However, it has been a labor to get my Videos back.  I cannot get them into the Camera Roll folder.  I managed to use iTunes to moved them over to the Videos app on my 4s.  The videos play perfectly, but since they are now in that folder, there is no way to E-mail the videos from the device.  Does anyone know of a way that I can either get those videos back into the Camera Roll, or how I can mail enable the videos in the Videos app.
I also tried using Dropbox to no avail.  It is a bit convoluted, but one time I was actually able to use Evernote, but unless you upgrade to the full version of Evernote, you are limited to the number of uploads/E-mails per month.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you in advance for any help.

  • Print job that will not die

I have never seen this one before - a print job that magically reappears over and over after being deleted. Does anyone know what this is? Has anyone seen this before? Here are the specifics:
Printer is and HP laserjet connected via USB to computer A which is a G5 iMac running OSX, current update as of today minus one. Computer A has Appletalk enabled over the ethernet, and printer sharing turned on for this printer. The logged in user is not the system administrator, it is a non-administrator user.
Computer B is a G4 iMac, running OSX 10.3, Appletalk enabled via ethernet. The two computers are connected to an ethernet router. The printer for Computer B is set to the remote printer from Computer A.
Computer B sends a print job from Microsoft Word, which get sent to Computer A. It disappears from the print queue on Computer B. It appears on the print queue for Computer A, and starts printing - 100 copies!
The print queue on Computer A is stopped, the job is deleted. The print queue is turned back on.
The job REAPPEARS and starts printing again.
The queue is stopped and the job deleted - same result! The job reappears. So the queue is stopped, the job is deleted, the printer shut off and restarted, and the computer restarted. The print queue is turned back on.
The job REAPPEARS and starts printing again!
Eventually, the only way to kill this job was to DELETE the printer and recreate it!
What on earth was this problem? Has anyone ever see a print job that would NOT go away???

    Hi ....
I understand the issue with ur printer. and with the present set of OS this issue can be resolved.
!! Prior to this u need to reset the printing services and then have a download of the recent set of drivers from the Vendor website.
IF not then u need to delete the HP Printer folder and the HP Preferences from the Libraby folder....
    How to get there ::
Double Click : MAC HDD icon
select Library : and select Preferences.
Do re-install the drivers for the Printer.
Hope this may resolve ur issue.

  • How To Delete A Job That Just Won't Delete?

Sometimes when I go to print something it seems to "get stuck" and it says "pending" 2/1 and I can't cancel or delete it and until I can, I can't do anything else.  I've had this issue with HPs in the past.  How do I fix it and prevent it from happening again?
Dell Dimension 8400Windows XPHP PSC 1315

I agree with Richard.  It is RIDICULOUS to call this a solution.  Duct tape on a leaking boat works better and lasts longer. First I send a 2 page print job to my HP Officejet Pro L7680 for immediate printing. That fails.  After nothing comes out of the printer I investigate and see that it is "Printing" so I wait a little longer. It becomes obvious that it isn't coming out so I try restarting the job. Next I delete the print job.  That fails. Next I run I run the troubleshooter.  It finds that a print job is caught in the print queue and applies its fix.     That didn't fix anything, so then I try to cancel all jobs in the queue with the same outcome, another failure. Then I try the "HP Solutions" recommendations: 1st duct tape >reboot your printer - spatially inconvienient, inconsiderate of other users, only works maybe 10-20% of the time.   Ususally has to be repeated for each print job.  How is this a solution?  Mostly fails. 2nd duct tape >Reboot your computer -inconvienient to me and a time waster,  applies after frustrated trial and failure listed above.   Furthermore, that works only for a period of time and then the problem resurfaces, usually when I can't afford the delay.   So it is only treating a temporary fix.  It's similar to a doctor who only gives you pills to lessen your symptoms. The recommendation that I reboot my computer is not a solution.  This has been going on for so long that I find it difficult to recommend HP printers anymore.   What happened to the idea of reliability?  When I send a job to the printer, it should print 99%-99.9% of the time.

Hi @TJBar, and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're looking into how to cancel your print jobs.  I would like to assist.
When printing, on the front panel of your printer you will see a large red 'X'.  This will allow you to cancel any print jobs by touching the X.
Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Cannot cancel print jobs from queue in Windows

We have some print jobs we sent to the Bonjour printer when we were off network, they still show in the windows queue, but we cannot cancel them, any suggestions?

Short of removing Bonjour, then reloading it, not much. Presuming you're using Windows, have you tried deleting them, then turning off the computer, then turning it back on? Sometimes that does it.

  • How to cancel a download that is in progress

I tried to download some podcasts onto my ipod via itunes, but they are taking too long and I want to cancel them. The only option I see is to pause the downloading process. How do I cancel or stop the podcasts from downloading?

this only seems to work on itunes on my computer...I have a bunch of podcasts that are in the process of downloading to my ipod and i want to cancel them...on the itunes on my ipod, under downloads there is an option to pause but not to cancel, and under podcasts it just shows what's hot, top tens, or categories, it does not show the podcasts that are currently downloading and give me the chance to cancel them, as it does on the itunes on my computer....is my only option therefore to let these podcasts keep downloading and then delete them when they are finished...seems like a lot of downloading for no purpose, when all i want to do is abort the download process, is there no othe way to do this?
