How to change a blade of chassis in safe mode

Hi there guys!
I'm triying to change a blade of chassis, but everytime that we make the change the OS into the blade its deleted; this is hapenning with all the blades that are trying to move. We don't have any Scrub policy applied.
Anyone has idea of what is happening?

Before removing a blade always run a decommision, even if you are going to use the same service profile:
Server - General - Server Maintenance.
When you insert it in another slot, it will run a re-acknowldge. If you are going to apply the same service profile with the local disk configuration that you mention, the data should stay there.
If the Protect Configuration box is checked, the server retains the configuration in the local disk configuration policy even if the server is disassociated from the service profile.
When a service profile is disassociated from a server and a new service profile associated, the setting for the Protect Configuration property in the new service profile takes precedence and overwrites the setting in the previous service profile.
Note
If you disassociate the server from a service profile with this option enabled and then associate it with a new service profile that includes a local disk configuration policy with different properties, the server returns a configuration mismatch error and the association fails.

Note that this code specifically disables only application arrays. Disabled items are not available after submission (and hence are different from readonly) . But any page javascript can modify disabled or readonly items(client side), so you must check at the server side to validate the data.
You can disable items using

Not a good sign, your HD is failing or has serious block problems. It might be possible to reformate the drive and start over.

Make sure that you do not use a shortcut key that uses only the Shift key or have the Shift key pressed if you click the desktop shortcut.
If you do have a shortcut key that only uses Shift then change that to use Shift + Ctrl or Shift + Alt.

What do you mean by 'safe mode', do you mean that it's in recovery mode ? You should be able to log into your account on http://www.icloud.com and remove the iPad from the Find My iPhone section of your account

The only way you might do it is use one of the Unix editors to edit the plist file it gets the settings from once it boots in the GUI mode. 'vi' is present in all Macs, and you might have pico, nano, emacs, or ed depending on what was installed. The keyboard layout while in single user mode itself I think is generic to where the Mac was bought and what keyboard was ordered with it, when it came from the store. Since you posted in the 10.3 or earlier forum, chances are if this has changed, few people would know for certain. If you have a newer Mac, say 2006 or later, you should really post in the correct forum:

After updating Firefox, it wants to start in safe mode, when you click reset & restart it starts and runs fine, how do I make it stop opening in safe mode?

I recently updated my Firefox to 3.5.9 for Google pack, after doing so Firefox would only open in safe mode. So I started in safe mode that one time. Everafter, when starting firefox it always opens a dialog window about safe mode, I click the option to reset the toolbars and restart, and it starts normally. I'd like to make it stop opening with this dialog, and just open normally without asking about safe mode.

How long does it take to restart in safe mode for Lion 10.7

The only old discussion from 2007 suggests up to 30 minutes. It seems strange that it would take so long. Has anyone tried this more recently on a PowerMac G5 using Mac OS X 10.7?

It varies, RPM speed, #of files.. fragmentation.. hardware stats, damage to repair, etc...have their factors.
Can take a couple minutes, or up to 7 or more. I suppose it's possible to have to wait 30 mins, but generally if it takes that long you're basically stuck with the need to re-install the os at that point anyway.

How can I repair Finder without SSH or safe mode access?

I'm looking for a way to reinstall Mavericks without access to the boot-time repair mode.
I went to use my 2012 Mac mini this morning to find I had been logged out. Odd but I didn't make much of it. After logging in successfully, I found that I could not launch any applications from the launch bar - they bounce once or twice, maybe show a dot underneath, then the dot vanishes (if it appeared) and no application launches. Additionally, trying click on the Spotlight magnifying glass or pressing command-space did nothing, except make the Spotlight, date, time, etc. disappear from the menu bar. Double-clicking a PDF on the desktop causes the Preview application (not normally in my launch bar) to appear, bounce, then disappear. Clicking on the Apple menu and selecting "About This Mac" logs me out and presents me with a login screen. Command-Option-Esc has the same effect of logging me out. I tried booting into Safe Mode and couldn't get it to work and it doesn't seem like others have had problems pressing Shift to get to Safe Mode after the boot tone but before the grey screen & Apple logo appear. I tried SSHing into the computer but could not connect.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

If you want to preserve the data on the startup drive, and it's not already backed up, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is not fully functional. You need an external hard drive or other storage device to hold the data.
1. Start up from the Recovery partition, from Internet Recovery, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) Launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.” The article refers to starting up from a DVD, but the procedure in Recovery mode is the same. You don't need a DVD if you're running OS X 10.7 or later.
2. If Method 1 fails because of disk errors, then you may be able to salvage some of your files by copying them in the Finder. If you already have an external drive with OS X installed, start up from it. Otherwise, if you have Internet access, follow the instructions on this page to prepare the external drive and install OS X on it. You'll use the Recovery installer, rather than downloading it from the App Store.
3. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, start the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
4. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.

Would love to know if this is possible. Found forums dating back years asking exactly the same thing, no solutions. And I do not want to change my headset (Sennheiser MM-50), or use the onboard mic (which sounds like you are using your Mac in a wind tunnel once the fans kick in).

The minimum page requirement is driven by the binding process. There are a minimum number of pages that can be bound satisfactorily. Larry's razor blade suggestion might be your solution.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Every time you add a new event in iCal, the Info panel of the event contains a series of default alerts that you may want to add to it. However, all of them are useless to me (e.g.: "Send email to <my address> 4 days after), so I need to manually edit them event by event. Anybody knows how to change them? I have already inspected all the plist files related to ical, and looked inside the ical package content, but I found no indication of where to change these values. Using iCal version 5.0.2

John: Thank you, this is exactly what I wanted. I was indeed inspecting the plist with bbedit, but what I did not realize is that the file has some parts which are binary, so I could not see the PersistentMenu-lastUsedAlarms part by using a text editor. I opened it with Xcode and I did find what you were saying, and erased all the junk that was in there. In fact, the issue I had was also described here:

For some reason, it looks like after some upgrade the program adds were some positive values in the plist and I was stuck with default alarms that were set *after* the events I wanted to set an alarm for.
I did what you suggested, then added by hand new values to the PersistentMenu part of the plist, and I am now happy.
For everybody's information, to know what I did, it is enough to know to add Dictionary items to the PersistentMenu-lastUsedAlarms, with 3 fields:
-- AlarmTypeKey (this determines if you want a sound, or else an email, or else the other default alarm type keys. For example, sending an email is a Number, value 4; having a message with sound is a Number, value 3)
-- AlarmDurationKey: This is a Number, in seconds, that determines when you want your alarm to trigger. E.g: -172800 will be two days before. Must be negative for "before", of course)
-- AlarmParameterKey: This is a String, where you store the value that you want the alarm to have. For example, if you want an email to be sent, the AlarmTypeKey will be 4, as explained above, and this field will contain your email address. Instead, if you want the alarm to be a sound, the AlarmTypeKey will be 3 and this field will have the name of the sound you want (e.g., Basso).
