How to change margins in Numbers 3.0

How do I change the page margins in Numbers 3.0 MacBook Pro App?

Hi Themonkeycode,
unless they moved it from where it use to be...
It has gone in Numbers 3.0 and Numbers 3.1. Maybe it will return in future versions. Please give feedback to Apple:
Menu > Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback.
Downloading Numbers 3 did not replace Numbers '09. Unless you deleted it, it is in a folder called iWork '09 inside your Applications folder. It works just as well as it used to.
Regards,
Ian.

how do you change margins in numbers?

Actually you can change the margins.  I cut-and-pasted this from another thread.

    Hi Sammy,
Numbers 3 has lost some features that were great in Numbers 2 (Print View and Layout View). Now we must use File > Print... > Print Setup. But it is now better in Numbers 3.2
Numbers 3.2 has restored some layout features. See the Print Setup panel on the right in Print Preview:
Drag the Print Setup panel up to see Page Margins settings.
Numbers has never had Page Breaks or Print Selection. That is an Excel requirement for Excel's huge sheets.
The Numbers approach is to use separate tables on a "canvas". Each table has a purpose. Input, database, number-crunching, summary. These tables can be on separate sheets. Print only the sheet that is your "presentation".

    Ian.

  • How to change line item numbers

    HI
when we are creating sales order, if we enter material number, line item number will be autmaticallly assigned(for eg 10,20,30 ....). if i want to change that number what i have to do(eg: to 1, 4, 5, .....). in standard SAP, the field is grayed out once the no is assigned. so i dont know how to change the no. please help me in this.

    Hello,
You can give any number manually as the line item when you are creating the sales order.
While creating the order give the item number also manually, then the system will accept. Once you given the line item number , it will not allow you to change it.
Then you need to delete the line item and re-insert with the line item number you want.

  • How do I change margins in Numbers?

How do I change the page margins in the new version of Numbers?

If your workflow is heavily tied to traditional printing then the new Numbers 3 is not the best tool. It is more suited to collaboration and dynamic presentation on the iPad or on the web, where margins are irrelevant. It's not that iOS is dumb or can't handle margins. It's that there, unlike in print, the viewer can instantly adjust the zoom and surrounding whitespace as desired.
See this thread on workarounds for ideas on how to deal with some of Numbers 3.0's perceived deficiencies.
Anybody in the field with iPads will of course find Numbers a far better solution than Excel. Excel doesn't work on the iPad (yet).

  • How do i change margins in numbers in 3.0.1

How do i change the margins. everything in printing off the page. Why would they take away margins and Print View

This is seriously stupd (sic) of Melody and extremely frustrating and unfriendly to the users in this forum either looking for or attempting to provide answers to others questions.
Seriously, Melody, these repeated posts do absolutel nothing to get you closer to a solution of your (Numbers) problem(s). Apple does not actively monitor these discussions. The users who are looking for answers gain nothing from your post. The users seeking to provide answers and checking updated threads get annoyed on reading repeated identical posts from a specific user (and tend to remember that name when there's a question to which they might have a useful answer).
Find somewhere else to release your frustrations, please.
If you want to complain to Apple, use the Provide Numbers Feedback to send your message directly to Apple, and request this feature be added/brought back.

  • How to change Margins in PDF?

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I am evaluating 8.0 Professional on my pc (XP SP2 w/ 3.5GB of RAM and 2.5GHZ CPU). I want to see if the Professional can modify margins of pdf files that I get from various places but I am not finding anything in the documentation or via google. This should be an easy thing to do, like in MS Word you go to "Page Setup" and change the margins. I cannot find this functionality in Acrobat 8.0. Can someone please tell me how to modify the margins? The document in it's present configuration wastes paper and leaves alot of it blank when it could be printed on. Trying to be a conscientious worker by not wasting paper and Acrobat is not cooperating with me.
    Thanks,
    Erik

    Dear Dimitri,
That is super - a simple command.
I just wish the folks at Adobe would do the same for those doing printouts.  When you are dealing with historical documents, many taken from microfilm, generally there is no consideration as to binding margins.  If one wants to wax philosophical on this, while technology changes ever so rapidly, one thing that is always viewable is the printed page or photo.  A classic exanple of technological change is sound recording.  We started out with cylinders.  Next came records, first 78 rpm, then 45 rpm for individual songs and 33 rpm for longer pieces.  Casette tapes and 8-track tapes were next, followed by CD's.  Now we have mpegs.  The conundrum was exemplified in one of the early Superman movies, wherein the history of Krypton was recorded on green crystals.  Technology is constantly changing, which compromises the ability to play back what has been recorded in the past.  At the National Archives and Records Administration in College Park, MD, some of the researchers' copies of motion pictures are on antique 1" Beta tapes.  The machines to play these, antiques in and of themselves, are in terrible shape.  The primary copies, however, are still on film, although one wonders how long these, too, will last.  I presume that these are stored under refrigeration.
We can see the issue in condensed time with the development of computer operating systems and software.  While Microsoft has generally attempted to provide retroactivity, a document written in the newer versions of Office may be a .docx, whereas older software doesn't recognize this.  Fortunately, most friends are willing to downgrade their copies so I can read them.  Support for Windows XP will eventually vanish.  While this OS can continue to be used by those that have it, replacing peripherals such as scanners and printers may make this problematic.
But, actual photos and printed pages are readable with the Mark 1 eyeball, regardless of how they are produced.
    Regards,
    Richard

How can i change the margins ?
    Thank u all
    Thomas

It sounds like either the font is corrupted or your AddressBook prefs are whacked.
You can check the font in FontBook > File> Validate Fonts, or in /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist move it to the desktop and restart.

  • How to change margins in Acrobat 9?

It seems the margins are like 2" in my Acrobat 9.
I need to make them smaller to fit the rest of the text on 1 page.
    How do I do it?
    Thanks.

Your only option is to use the crop tool. Such formatting needs should really be done before conversion to Acrobat and not afterwards.

    Hi,
Select the master pages in the "Pages" panel and go to menu "Pages", sub-menu "Margins & columns" (I use a french version, so may be the translation is incorrect!).

Is there a way to change the margins to get it all on one line
    Thanks Mike

    lamarche,
The only things I think you could do is 1. remove some of the included information 2. print in Landscape. And with that You could just include a small amount of information on the portrait version and the have a more detailed landscape version as well.
Also 3. if you have iWork you could set it up in there anyway you would like it.
    Hope that helps,

  • Server 2012 R2 Essentials Role: How to change the port numbers?

    Hi All,
I've installed Server 2012 R2 on a Hyper-V guest, and then installed the Essentials Role on it. I've setup the role, and can access the dashboard. However the client I have has only one static IP - and Exchange/IIS running on the Hyper-V host. So the normal
ports for Access Anywhere won't work. I'd like to have the Access Anywhere respond on a different port - say 9999 for example. Then I can configure port forwarding on the router to pass it through, and have it working correctly as an SBS replacement. I messed
around with the bindings in IIS, but that didn't really solve the problem. I thought that would be it - but I suppose it's possible the service isn't meant to run on another port?
Has anyone had any luck in changing Access Anywhere to respond on a different port?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Based on your description, I understand that you want to change the default port of Anywhere Access. Please
refer to following thread and check if can help you.
    WSE

If anything I misunderstand or any update, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to change tag track numbers en masse?

I have nearly 8,000 tracks on my iPod, many of which are for audiobooks stored as music files. In general, the tracks from these audiobooks have useful tag data, with the exception of the track number field that is stored as part of the tag data. I am trying to find a way that will enable me to renumber many tracks at once without having to do it one file at a time.
When I rip audiobook wav files to mp3 the track number data field is automatically inserted according to which track it was on the source CD. However, since many audiobooks have more than one CD, the end result is that I have more than one track that is number 1, number 2, and so on. For example, if an audiobook has 10 CDs each with 10 tracks I end up with 100 tracks in total, but instead of tracks numbered 1 through 100, I get 10 tracks with track number 1, ten with track number 2, and so forth.
This causes a problem in the way the iPod arranges tracks. My iPod puts them in the correct order when I access a book using "playlist," but if I want to access the book by "artist" or "album" it does not put them in the proper order. It orders them not by track name, but by track number. This is a problem because there are multiple files with the number "1" in the track number tag field. Whereas I need to be able to go from disc 1/track 1 to disc 1/track 2, instead the iPod goes from disc 1/track 1 to disc 2/track 1.
I could, of course, create a separate "album" for each CD in a multi-CD audiobook, but then I would have way more "albums" than I really need to have listed.
Does anyone know of a method (or an application) that I can use to renumber tracks easily and quickly? I would be ideal to find something as easy as this would be to do in an Excel spreadsheet. But to renumber them one file at a time is simply overwhelming.
    Please advise.

    Whereas I need to be
able to go from disc 1/track 1 to disc 1/track 2,
instead the iPod goes from disc 1/track 1 to disc
    2/track 1.
Right click on any of these files and do a Get Info. Notice that there is, in fact, a Disc number field. So you can make disc numbers 1/10, 2/10 and so on.
iTunes and the iPod are both smart enough to recognize that there are disc numbers there and act correctly. So it'll start with Disc 1, play all that disc, then go to Disc 2, and so forth. It's just a matter of having correct disc number tags.
You can tag disc numbers for a whole disc at once. Simply select all the songs in a single disc (hold SHIFT or CTRL while selecting the songs), right click, Get Info, and you get the mass tag editor screen. Add the disc number info for this disc, and it'll tag that info to all those songs. Repeat for each disc.

  • Can't figure out how to change the bottom margins

This is my 3rd day with a mac and I can't figure out how to change the margins in Pages '09 so that it doesn't include a .5 margin on the bottom.
I'm using a HP OfficeJet J6450. In the page setup, I changed the "untitled" user defined margins to .1 for top and sides and 0 for the bottom and it still includes a .5 margin on the bottom. Changing the untitled seems to help side margins.
I've used the inspector to see if there is a setting there that defines the bottom margin as .5 and that doesn't seem to do it.
If I print borderless, the text boxes that I have a .3 border around don't print on the edges even though they show up on my workspace. It also throws off the top and bottom.
This is a big assumption, but I assumed that if the workspace and rules show white space and now grayed out, it would print that way. It's not.
    Any ideas? Thanks! Ana
P.S. I've downloaded & installed updates for everything - OS, iWorks, Printer

    Peggy,
Maybe this is true of Macs? On my windows systems - I can specify more options on both my printers and can print beyond .5 inches at the bottom. One specific option on my J6450 that I can select is "minimize borders" and it will print about .1 or .2 from the edge. On my mac, I do not have that feature to select. If I print borderless, even though my layout shows it should not go off the paper, once printed it does.
    Thanks.

  • How do I add page numbers to my document without the page numbers automatically changing. I do not want the page numbers the software automatically places into my document.

How do I add page numbers to my document without the page numbers automatically changing? The title page is blank, I can type in 1 on the 1st typed page, but the #1 automatically goes into the next page and will not change.

Click at bottom of the first page:
Menu > Insert > Section break
Click somewhere in the 2nd page (not the header/footer)
Inspector > Layout > Section > Page Numbers > Start at 1 > Configuration > uncheck use previous headers and footers
Click into the header or footer of the second page:
    Menu > Insert > Auto Page Numbers…
If there is anything in the header or footer on the first page that you don't want just select it and delete it.
If you really wanted to manual place page numbers on each page you will have to use a section break between each and every page. I can't imagine that would be useful.
