How to change "Save As" view

I have 2 machines with Adobe reader 8. When I do a save as they both open up with a view of List. One PC is sorted by Date and the other by Name. Can I change the view it starts at to default to detail? and more important can I have it always sort by name and not date?

Move your curser to the far left and click and drag the source pane back open
Or quit iPhoto and delete the iPhoto preference file which will set it back to defaults when you launch iPhoto - reset any user preferences you have changed and repoint iPhoto to the iPhoto library if you have moved it

How to change the default view of published iCal's URL

I am publishing an iCal for a nonprofit group and link to the calendar from the group's website. The default URL given (in the send publish email option) leads to the week view of the current week. I would prefer the link to take site visitors to the month view of the calendar. If I go to the month view and copy the URL for it, and use that for the link, I have to change the URL each month, because the URL that comes from the month view will only show the month it was at the time I copied the URL -- it will not change with the new month. Does anyone have any idea of how I can change the URL so that it leads to the month view of whatever the current month is?
I should note that I know how to change the default view in the my browser, but I would rather not have to explain how to do this to all the people viewing the calendar -- just wanting the correct month view to show up when they click the link, without having to change it each month.
I would be so grateful if anyone has some insight on this!

In direct response to your questions, I would say that (as observed by the OP) anyone who subscribes to a published calendar can make a change to their desired view using the "Preferences" icon which is displayed underneath the mini-month calendars.
There is no way that I know of to directly or conveniently change the time-range. There may be workarounds, but I could not find a suitable solution for you.
I would recommend that you provide iCal Feedback, if you are interested in informing Apple of your desires.

I have the same problem! I'm currently searching answers to this question. There should be an option somewhere in the new iTunes where it allows the Artists view to change from detailed view to smaller and bigger view. I also want the Artist view to look like the Albums and Movies view.

How to change settings to view JPEG images?

I have a Gmail account and when I attempt to view Jpeg images on emails in a larger size I get a blank page with a crossed box in one corner . How can I change settings on my PC to view the images?

Assume you're using Internet Explorer browser?
Is it happening on all images you open?
You can verify Internet Explorer is setup to show images by going to: Tool, Internet Options, click the advanced tab and under Multimedia make sure Show Pictures is checked.
Make sure you have the latest updates for Internet Explorer from Windows Update.

How do change the timeline view in PE9 to see all frames?

In PE9 I notice that many frames in timeline view appear blank. at the clip transitions the frame have images. How do I change this to see all the frames? In PE 2 I never had the "feature". I assume that most are blank to reduce file handling,etc. But I'd like to toggle the frame images on/off on command.
p.s. when I imported a short 8 munutes series of clips direct from my HD sony camera the timeline frames were complete... but most video i'm using is old anlaog tape conversions to DVD...than dvd files imported for PE editing.

How To change the ADF View Object query where-clause at RunTime?

I am trying to create a simple display page which will display user data (username, assoc_dist_id, assoc_agent_id, status , etc). The User data is stored in a database table and i am using an ADF Read Only table based on the View Object to display the data on the JSF page.
However, i want to display only the users that a particular person accessing the page has the AUTH LEVEL to see. e.g. If the person accessing the page is an 'ApplicationAdministrator' then the page should display all users in the table, If its a 'DistributorAdministrator' then the page should display only users associated with that Distributor (i.e. assoc_dist_id = :p_Dist_id ) and If its an 'AgentAdministrator' , then the page should display only users associated with that Agent ( i.e. assoc_agent_id = :p_Agent_id).
Currently my af:table component displays all the users in the table because the query for the view object is (select * from users) . However, i want to use the same viewobject and just set the where-clause at runtime with the appropriate parameter to restrict the dataset returned.
Do anyone knows how to accomplish this ?

This class is a framework extension class for view objects that adds a neat, generic feature to be able to dynamic default the value of named bind variables. You can read more about what framework extension classes are and how to use them in Chapter 25, "Advanced Business Components Techniques" of the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers, also available at the learning center above.
It is an example of generic framework functionality that "kicks in" based on the presence of custom metadata properties on a named bind variable. See section 25.3.3 "Implementing Generic Functionality Driven by Custom Properties" in the dev guide for more details. Using this sample code, if you add a bind variable to a view object, and define a custom metadata property named "DynamicDefaultValue" on that bind variable, and set this custom metadata property to the value "CurrentUser", then that bind variable will have its value dynamically defaulted to the name of the authenticated user logged in. If instead you set this custom property to the value "UserRole", then the bind variable will be set to the comma-separated string containing the list of roles that the authenticated user is part of.
Once you've created a framework extension class for view objects like this, you can have the view objects you create inherit this generic functionality.See section 25.1.4 "How to Base an ADF Component on a Framework Extension Class" in the dev guide for more info on this.
By adapting a technique like this (or some idea similar that better suits your needs) you can have your view object query contain bind variables whose values automatically take on the defaults based on something in the user-session environment.

How to change to Icon View for some folders but and List View for the rest

I've had a bear of a time with View options in my folders. I'd like some folders to be in Icon view and other to be in List view. For what ever reason if I change the view option of one folder it changes the view option of EVERY folder. What can I do to make this happen?

I was about to ask the same. I'd like to use icon view normally, but list view for folders containing lots of text documents. It looks like the solution is using View > Show View Options, change the folder to the view you want, and then tick the box at the top fo the dialogue for "Always open in __ view".

Media Cache issue-how to change save location?

I have CS5 Master Collection on a Win7 Pro 64
bit PC. The C: (System) drive is on an SSD 64 Gb d
rive. My problem seems to be that when working on a project in PPro CS5, the folder that Premiere creates to store Media Cache files is located on the Sytstem Drive (C:) But because my C: drive is a small capacity (64 Gb), it starts to get dangerously 'full' very soon. I've installed the CS5 programs on another drive, and I do know about saving the project on another drive and also choosing Scratch locations on a media drive, but I can't figure out how to get Media Cache files to save to a drive other than my C: drive. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. I did search for about half an hour on these forums and didn't find anything relating to my specific issue. Thank you, Vern

With regards to Media Cache and using your Four Disk Setup Recommendation, do you suggest your Media Cache "Files" and Media Cache "Database" be stored on the same drive, just different Folders?
Do you prefer to Check or Uncheck box "save Media Cache Files next to Originals when ever posslibe"?

How to change save defults so it saves to the location and file opened?

When I open a document and change it on my PC it then saves it to the location I opened it in. on my new Macbook air the file does not. I then have to change the defult and I can only get into main folders not the subfolders, so I then have to move it. this is very time consuming and there must be a way of setting a defult so I can save it to the original location. but I can not see it. Please help. I

Assuming you don't have any utilies installed that changes the behavior of the File Selector (such as Default Folder), you should see the behavior you are describing. When you create a new Document you are normally defaulted to the Documents folder or Pictures folder (whichever is appropriate for the program you are using). In that case you can navigate through the folders to find the subfolder you want or with a little prep work you can pre-select folders.
In the Finder open a window so you can see a subfolder you frequently want to save to and drag it left into the sidebar. You can also drag items out of the sidebar as well as drag them up and down to put them in the order you prefer. Now when you save a file look to the left side of the File Selector - you have the same sidebar as the Finder. Click on the folder you want to save it and you jump there.

How do you save and view the GPS data of imported photos?

The photos I took on my iphone have location data that can be viewed through the camera application but I haven't been able to see it when I've imported it onto my computer. I tried importing through iPhoto and Image Capture (which lists the GPS data) but neither show up in the Places tab in iPhoto.
Is there a better way to view or save the location of the photos?

How can I save my view and zoom settings in Numbers 3.0?

With the new Numbers update, every time I reopen a file, it's defaulted back to a particular zoom setting that I don't use (125%) and has the Format pane open.
Didn't see anything in the preferences, wondering if anyone has any ideas?
This file was originally a Numbers 09 file.

1. Go to Numbers > Preferences > General > Default Zoom
2. Close the Format Pane by clicking on the blue paintbrush:

CS5 - EPS (vector) opening - How to change/save raster settings?

Hello to all.
I'm working with CS5 now and I mentioned the follwowing terrible fact: When I open a vector EPS in CS5 raster settings are always CMYK and 72dpi. I know very well that CS2 remembers my first type in of settings (e.g. grayscale and 300dpi) and use it also for upcoming EPS files during a session. CS5 settings are CMYK and 72dpi always... each EPS.
Hope somebody can help. I guess it is goofed up by Adobe, isn't it?

Scripts, Actions, Image Processor are very helpful and in use but as an sleazy guy from time to time I'm also using drag and drop of a few files and in this case I mentioned it and tried to get an answer about its facts. That's all. Thanks for your information about CS6 as I thought about tryin it with the new version. This is not the end of the world, isn't it?
