How to Check Report Server Service

Hi Friends,
I have installed Report 6i on NT - Report server and Report Developer on my PC and am running Forms on web successfully , but when I call a report from the web form (thru Run_Product) I am facing problem to see the report output in the browser (report made recently in Report 6i). The report runs well as a standalone in the previewer.
Can anybody tell me how to check whether the Report Server process running or not I mean whats its name and also whether the Report Server is installed as a service or not how to check ?

Based on my experience, you can use ReportingService2010.FindItems Method or ReportingService2010.ListChildren Method to return items from a report server database or SharePoint library that match the search criteria or get a list of children of a specified
folder. And then judge whether the item exists. For the details, please refer to the link:

For the second question, you can read the RDL as XML using .NET in local machine. For the more information, please see the thread:

When you read the data source item, you can set the data sources for an item in a report server database or SharePoint library using ReportingService2010.SetItemDataSources Method. Please follow the link:

Sorry for the confusion as I m new to reports
I do have 10g Dev suite installed/Report builder on my local machine
I want to run my report on web using OC4J on the same local machine instead of the Run paper layout and Run web layout option
Means i want to run the report by passing URL like below
http://hostname:port/reports/rwservlet?report=report_name server=server_name+userid=db_connect_string+destype=file
+desformat=spreadsheet+desname=C:\temp\myexcel_output.htm
How can i check the report server name as well how can i start the report server if is not running ?

In windows event log:
On 12/15/2014 6:39:28 PM, component SMS_SRS_REPORTING_POINT on computer S-HUB-SQL1 reported: The report server service is not running on Reporting Service Point server "S-HUB-SQL1"; start the service to enable reporting.
In configuration manager service manager, the service sms_srs_reporting_point is running.
In Reporting services configuration manager, the service is running.
If I restart the reporting service, it doesn't helps.
What is not properly?

I've already found the reason why all stopped working - someone deleted the report manager URL HTTPS bindings (in Report services configuration manager). Added it back, than reporting started to work. Awww!

Oracle report server service returned service specific error 271

I setup Report 6i to start automatically as NT service in WinNT 4.0 server. Encountered the msg "The oracle report server <server name> service returned service specific error 271".
Can't find any documentations... can anyone please help? Thanks.

Hi,
Only thing I can think of is that the User log-in may not have the priviledge to start a serice or some other OS related problem. Or check that you do not have any other service running under same name / or the same port. Workaround would be to use following command to start the Report server:
rwmts60 -listen "server_tns_name"You need to add an entry for the Report server in TNSNAMES.ORA file. Infact for first case also, please check is you have right entry in tnsnames.ora for the Reports Server service.

1 Server SUN Server 250 Running Unix with Oracle 7.3 (App

25 PC 95/98 users Using forms and report 6i, connecting via Net8
This solution is working...!
We have a new NT Server to OAS Form Server Services.
What I want?
I need connect some people via web to use my application, but
I am not sure how make it..!
I am not need Portal or another services from OAS, I only
need Forms & Reports Server Services (I think..!).
Questions:
1) Is necessary install a Oracle Database On the
OAS Server that will be runing Forms &
Report Server (NT Server)?
2) What services must be installed on the NT server to
run Forms & Report Server?
3) When a End User use IE 5.0 to access my application from the
Web
He access to a Form Server, and this service start the
.fmx form, and this form use the Net8 to connect to DB, is
true?
4) If my form developed in form 6i run ok using Oracle 7.3.

OC4J Standalone is for use by development and small-medium scale production deployments. Specifically, OC4J Standalone supports HTTP and HTTPS natively without the use of Oracle HTTP Server. It does not have support for load balancing, clustering, or management through Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g. To use those features, customers must install one of the Oracle Application Server installation types, such as J2EE + WebCache. The standalone version is supported in a single instance, single JVM, and single machine configuration.

Report server service not starting up in report 6i

I am trying to start report server service in windows 2000 server but it is not starting
up with following error in event viewer.
The Oracle Reports Server [arun] service terminated with service-specific error 186.
Any clue.

This error generally means there is a problem in the tnsnames.ora file. You are probably missing the needed entry for the Reports Server or the Reports Server name you are using contains special characters.

Hi,
Server and envid are the parameters passed along with Reports URL call.
These variables value can be traped in Report by defining SERVER , ENVID named user parameters.
Once trapped, can be printed on Report.
Just ensure that these users parameters are not exposed to Parameter page, otherwise user may end up changing it.

Must be the server has different clients,one declared as application server ie abap stack client and the other declared as Integration server ie XI. U might be trying to open idx5 in application server client, in which idx5 exists but you cant open the screen even, that can be achieved through we02.
000 is the default client when XI server is installed .We can create separate clients on the system through sccl tcode.
As told we can find the client on sap logon screen.
Logon to sxmb_adm and check whether the client is declared as an application system(r/3) or Integration server(xi).Try idx5 in xi not r/3

Every time I am restarting my machine I have to start the report server using command rwserver server=repserver10G start in command prompt.
How to install the the report server as service in windows? so that it can be started automatically with machine restart.

You can create one batch file for this command and keep in startup scripts.

I have installed 9iAs R1 on windows 2k.My form server is running well, but there is a problem with Report server and its service is not ruuning (error 186).
What could be the tns entry for folders 806 and iSuites?

Do you have the repository connection configured? This is in the 806_home\report60\server\server_name.ora file with repositoryconn= setting.
If you do, make sure you can connect to that database with the user name/password you have configured. Connect from 806_home\bin\sqlplus to check this.
Are you on the latest patch?
Did you configure the service to not interact with the desktop? If not, you should change it to not interact.
