How to communicate over rs485 port?

Hi!
I'm wandering about how to make my cFP2020 module communicate over serial RS485.
A simple scheme for the first part of my application is shown in
the attached file.  If I launch MAX, should I see the fp 301 and
401 modules as dependant of cFP 2020???
Moreover, has someone examples regarding this app?  Thanks!!!

Graziano,
the answer to your question is found on this Knowledge base Article
Connecting cFP-20xx to a FP-100x
The only solution you have is to use optomux commands to communicate form the cFP-20xx over to a FP-100x device.

  • How to communicate between UNI ports?

    Hi
I have a new  ME3400 series switch with IOS (me340x-metrobase-mz.122-37.SE1), it has 24 fastethernet and 2 gig fiber uplinks
Now all the ports except fiber uplinks are uni ports by default.
So can't communicate with each other. Now i wishes to make them communicate while remaining in uni port-type.
On forums the solution is to declare them as member of community vlan.
    My questions are
    1) can i no shut the secondry vlan interface?
    2) From which pool i have to give ip to my system either from primary vlan pool or secondry vlan pool?
    3) In both cases i can't communicate with the default gateway i.e: the ip of vlan even the port is member of community vlan. so how to communicate them while being in uni ports?

You'll have to research how to create a connection pool. That is a pretty specific answer. Certainly inappropriate, for example, if the OP is attempting to just move records. Or compare records.
Probably ony useful if the OP wants to present to a client data from two databases. But since the OP said "communicate" that seems unlikely.

  • Assistance in How to Communicate to Serial Port

Hello, I am designing an Interface to communicate with RFID Device. My problem is that I cannot seem to get the data sent to loop back and be displayed back to a textbox that I have setup. The serial port pins 2 and 3 have been connected with jumper
wire so as to allow the data to transmit and return back. I have followed the example from an online source called "Simple Serial". Yet, everything seems to work except for the data return (received). Any assistance on the matter would be greatly
appreciated. My apologies, I neglected to mention that I am using C# 5.0 in Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate.

    Hi,
Your issue is out of support range of VS General Question forum which mainly discusses the usage issue of Visual Studio IDE such as
WPF & SL designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System
    and Visual Studio Editor.
Because your issue is about Serial Port, you can consult on ,Net Compact Framework forum like this thread:

  • How can I do to communicate to parallel port using labview 5.0 and NT ?

How can I do to communicate to parallel port using labview 5.0 and NT ?
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,

If you are trying to use In/Out port functions that come with LabVIEW they will not work with NT. I think the AccessHW file at the following link will fix that problem:
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/explprog.nsf/6c163603265406328625682a006ed37d/49664743ded6f1da862564bc004e3a7f?OpenDocument

and do some searchs at NI.com for parallel port, you should find some more usefull info.

  • How to communicate two PC's with the serial port with Netbeans

Do you know how to do it?
Do you know how to communicate with the parallel port too?
    Could you give some ideas?
What commands or instructions I have to use?

What does NetBeans have to do with it?
All these "people" today that start out in Java using all these "nifty" IDE's. All it does is produce exactly this. They think their IDE is Java. Once they no longer have their one specific IDE in front of them, they can no longer function. They have no idea what the classpath, what the compiler actually does, how to package a jarfile, hell, most of the time, they don't even know how to execute a simple application.
As far as your question. Did you even try to Google for some Serial port API package? Assuming you did, did you download it and read the documentation that comes with it? Did you search for a few examples on the web? Did you read them? Did you try them? I can almost guarantee that the answer to everyone of those questions is "no". So, my question for you is, "Why should we help you?" You obviously have no desire to help yourself, so I think we should reciprocate in kind. Don't you?

  • How do you set up Port Forwarding for ARD 2.2 in AEB N?

    Help,
I'm a novice at Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) - not an IT guy, so it has to be pretty basic and detailed.
How do you set up Port Forwarding for ARD 2.2 on the Apple Airport Extreme BS router, 802.11 N. I have one at each end of the internet connection. At one end I have an Airport Extreme N router with 2 macs and eventually 1 windows XP machine (if I can) that I would like to be able to connect to over the interenet (the clients) and at the other end, I have a Mac with ARD 2.2 installed also with an Airport Extreme N router. Note: Both routers use Static IP addresses and all computers use static IP's internally not through DHCP. What are the settings or directions to do this.
I have read and printed out the directions for Configuration of ARD 3.0 that are posted many times in the ARD discusion group, but it uses a Linksys router ( http://www.starkpr.com/ard.htm posted by Dave Sawyer). The Mac router is different, particularly with the place to set a Private IP address. I'm not sure about alot of things, but especially about the Private IP address, what number do I set it to, the one that is in my Network connections list? It automatically changes to a different number in AE N setup for Port Forwarding (by one) as if it is not suppose to the same?????
Are there any directions available that are as straight forward for the Airport Extreme N router, as the one's that are listed here for the Linksys Router's? ( http://www.starkpr.com/ard.htm )
Any and All help will be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I know I should have 3.0 but bought 2.2 just weeks before 3.0 came out and they would not give me an upgrade price, so I'm waiting for 4.0 to upgrade.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Try the following for each AirPort Extreme ...
    AEBSn - Port Mapping Setup
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the host device.
    Internet > DHCP tab
o On the DHCP tab, click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
o Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
o Reserve address by: MAC Address
    o Click Continue.
o MAC Address: <enter the MAC (what Apple calls Ethernet ID if you are using wired or AirPort ID if wireless) hardware address of the host computer>
    o IPv4 Address: <enter the desired IP address>
    o Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AEBSn.
    Advanced > Port Mapping tab
o Click the "+" (Add) button
o Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    o Public UDP Port(s): 3283
    o Public TCP Port(s): 3283
o Private IP Address: <enter the IP address of the host server>
    o Private UDP Port(s): 3283
    o Private TCP Port(s): 3283
    o Click "Continue"
o Click the "+" (Add) button
o Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    o Public UDP Port(s):
    o Public TCP Port(s): 5900
o Private IP Address: <enter the IP address of the host server>

  • How send data to serial port from forms 6i

How send data to serial port to activate hardware connect.
The hardware is a drawer for cash the point of sales.

    Andres,
I do the exact thing you are looking for,
I spool out a text file using text_io
the file will either contain a double ^G or an epson escape sequence, depending on the drawer type connected.
I then copy this file to the port using a copy function id d2kwutil
Works perfectly, but god knows how I'll do it if we want to run the point of sale over the web :)

  • Sending File Over Serial PORT

    Hi,
I'm able to read/write data over serial port using Java Comm APIs in Linux.
Can anybody please tell me how to write/read a file over Serial port?
Is it similar to sending a file over network?
    An early response is appreciated...

Same stream I/O as used over the port works from a file. Dead simple.
Also dead slow. If you want to do large amounts of data, use a RandomAccessFile and read a big chunk at a time into a byte array. Then send the byte array.

  • How long does the number porting process take?

Hello Everybody! I just got my iphone (witch I LOVE it by the way) but I was wondering, how long does the number porting process take?
I ported my phone number over from SprintPCS last night at around 7pm EST and right now it's 8am EST and my Palm seems to still be working... Is this normal?
I'm still receiving incoming calls to my Palm, Text messages to my Palm, but yet I can do outgoing calls from my iphone... I'm kinda confused...
I mean I received the text on my iphone from sprint telling me: "Welcome to AT&T" as well as receiving the e-mail saying my new phone number is the same one I've had for 6 years now... Is 13 hours considered normal?
    Thanx! :-D

    QueenYvette,
If it continues to be an issue tomorrow, I would recomend calling again, and getting in contact with AT&T's porting department. They are familiar with resolving any issues that may arise.
Powering off both phones is to make sure that the old phone is not maintaining an active connection with the old carrier that can interfere with the last steps of the porting process. If at all possible its a good idea to leave the old phone powered off, and restart the new phone about once an hour so that it will resync with the towers.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Conect two routers over console port

    Hi Guys ,
How conect two routers or firewall over console port for manager ?
    Thanks
    Jorge

    Hi Jorge,
I do not believe that you can connect to devices over console ports.
I have in the past connected from an aux port on a router to a console port on a switch using one of the old RJ45-RJ45 rollover cables Cisco used to ship with DB9-RJ45 adapters before they starting shipping DB9-RJ45 console cables.
You should be able to use the configuration in the document at the link below as a starting point.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk801/tk36/technologies_configuration_example09186a008014f8e7.shtml
This document is for a terminal server with 16 async ports. The config below should be ok for an aux port.
    ip host switch 2001 172.21.1.1
    interface Loopback1
    ip address 172.21.1.1 255.0.0.0
    line aux 0
    session-timeout 20
    no exec
    exec-timeout 0 0

  • Can't send over Server Port 25

I recently upgraded to Tiger and can RECEIVE email (for my pop account) but can't SEND over Server Port 25. What other ports can I use to get past the firewall or whatever is causing this problem.
What exactly should be written in setting up the "Outgoing Mail Server" info. I'm trying to send email out via my adelphia.net account and of course, using my user name. Should it be typed as "smtp.adelphia.net"?
Also, how do I edit out the past server settings? I delete them in the "edit server" option but they reappear later in my list of servers.
Thanks in advance for any help in these matters.

Most SMTP provided by cable ISP, do not require a
separate Authentication, but rather are either
authenticated by SMTP after POP3, or by the IP
address of the modem. If you are using Password
authentication in the setup of the Outgoing Server,
change to None, and remove the Password and Username
    entries, and test.
In Mail, the equivalent of Outlook Express setting of
use the same settings for the outgoing, as on the
incoming, is an Authentication of None. Separate
password authentication of the Outgoing Server is
only used for those servers where the Username must
be appended to the name of the SMTP. Where not
    needed, attempting a separate, redundant,
authentication on the Outgoing will cause failure.
    Ernie
Ernie, you're a genius! Thanks for helping me figure this out. I greatly appreciate the solution to my problem. Getting rid of the second password authentification (for outgoing server) did the job!

  • P2415Q - No display over DVI, HDMI. No menu. Worked perfectly for one month over display port

Reason Line: Dell P2415Q. After one month working perfectly over display port, no display on screen over Display Port or HDMI, no response to menu buttons, backlight and power LED on but no image on screen.
    Problem Description
The monitor worked out of the box for one month using the display port to mini display port cable provided with the monitor, which was plugged into my XFX 7970 and 7950 graphics cards. It supported 4K at 60Hz and was exceptional for photos, videos and games. On Wednesday the monitor stopped working, no image or menu is displayed on the monitor. I plugged in my old monitor to help diagnose via DVI from the same graphics card. When I press the power button on the Dell P2415Q monitor, the power LED lights up and the computer detects the monitor (as shown in the windows screen resolution menu). It sets it as a secondary display but the monitor remains black, I can see the power LED and backlight is on. No power saving mode popup appears on the monitor, when I press the menu buttons there is no response from the screen, it remains black. I repeated with a HDMI cable the same issue occurs with no response or image. I repeated and disabled crossfire (which allows the graphics cards to function independently) and tried the second graphics card with no response. I tested the HDMI cable I used on my old LG monitor, it works well. I have tried connecting a laptop over HDMI to the monitor too, with no response from the monitor. I have exhausted all the tests I can think of, I presume I will have to return the monitor for repair or replacement under warranty. A question to the dell rep and community - is there anything else I can try / do to get it working?
    Monitor / Computer Details
    Monitor service tag: <removed>
Computer: Non-Dell, self build about 2 years ago. Ivy Bridge i5, Gigabyte Sniper Motherboard, 16GB RAM, XFX 7970 GPU and XFGX 7950 GPU in crossfire, 256GB SSD, 860W Corsair AX power supply (860W on 12V rails). Windows 7, 64-bit. (Secondary Monitor LG D2342).
Operating System: Windows 7, 64 Bit.
Video Card: XFX 7970 and XFX 7950 in Crossfire (tested separately, monitor produces fault with both).
Video Card Driver: 14.12 AMD Catalyst Driver (rolled back to older driver, monitor still produces fault).
Video Card Output Ports: Tested with miniDP and HDMI on both cards, with crossfire enabled and disabled. Monitor still produces fault.
Video Card Cable: miniDP to DP cable provided with monitor. HDMI cable, tested with alternate monitor to confirm it functions correctly.
Monitor Menu Button: Non responsive, when power is turned on the computer successfully detects the Dell P2415Q monitor, the backlight turns on but no image appear on the screen. Pressing the menu buttons yields no result - menu does not appear on the screen. Power LED is on.
Monitor Purchase: Purchased from Overclockers.co.uk March 2015.

    * Turn the monitor off
    * Disconnect all cables from the monitor including the power cable
    * Press the monitor power button in for 15 seconds
    * Reconnect the monitor cables and re-test. If still no go, your only option is to get it exchanged per the purchased warranty
    * But first the service tag must be transferred into your name using this form
