How to complain about an app?

I recently got a new iphone and downloaded an app called mysecretfolder by Red Knight interactive. Its an application that allows you to hide pictures and videos with an extra securtity layer. They claim that your pictures are locally stored in your phone. However when I downloaded the app on my new iphone the pictures stored in my old iphone appeared. To make myself clear I DID NOT do a restore, I simply downloaded the app again and the pictures from my old phone appeared. Meaning that they have stored and backed up my pictures thorugh the internet (network connection which they require to use the app claiming it is just for location services and safari browsing. I've looked through the app store and don't know where to submit my complaint.

Dear Customer,
We take your issue very seriously, as we have over a million happy customers of My Secret Folder, the original and best secure App.
To alleviate any concerns you may have I will answer you as clearly as possible.
1) Let me assure you that My Secret Folder App NEVER uploads or sends any information, data or photos to anywhere else other than in the following situations:-
a)A break-in report sent to your email address (if you set this up, it will send a break-in attempt photo and GPS co-ordinates to your email address)
b) if you choose to share a photo from inside the App via Facebook, Twitter or email.
c) If you browse the internet inside the App, the App will download content for the web page you are viewing.
2) Although we do not specifically support the "restore" feature of your photos in the App. If you have your Apps set to backup to the iCloud (in general), and then subsequently re download the App, then any content (saved data) that is in the App WHEN Apple iCloud backed it up MAY be restored to that App. This would be true for all Apps that are backed up. Red Knight is not responsible for any content that Apple iCloud backs up and subsequently restores to your device.
If you want to guarantee that iCloud does not backup any content to its server, remove the content from My Secret Folder before your scheduled or manual backup, or simply remove the App from your iCloud backup list in settings.
TO CLARIFY - EVEN IF APPLE iCLOUD RESTORES PHOTO CONTENT TO YOUR DEVICE, NO PHOTOS WILL EVER BE SENT TO ANYWHERE ELSE OR AN ONLINE SERVER. APPLE iCLOUD IS MANAGED BY APPLE.
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THAT:-
1) You are indeed discussing the correct "My Secret Folder" App, as there are over a dozen such Apps on the store
2) Ensure you are not misunderstanding that you are seeing the "camera roll" on your new phone that will of course contain all of your old photos, especially if you have logged into apple iCloud. This would re-instate all of your old content that you have regularly backed up, particularly if using Photo Stream.  This feature is not associated with My Secret Folder and is controlled by Apple iCloud and its backup settings.
3) Double check you did not at any point simply allow iCloud to reinstall your Apps including their content
If you are in any doubt about what the App is sending and receiving, you can:-
1)Disable any network connection and see that the App functions completely fine with no connection
2) Connect the device to the internet using a Wifi connection and monitor the connection using some connection software (Wire Shark) to confirm that no information is sent to or from the device for this App.
You could check this by installing the app from the app store on a new device and turning off your network connection, launch the app and you will see no content will appear.
To confirm, all content stored in the App is stored locally on your device and NEVER online or on any servers
I hope this has clarified how My Secret Folder works and any concerns are addressed.
Please feel free to ask any more questions.

  • Where do I complain about an app sending notification spam?

Hi. A few of my apps have recently started spamming me using push notifications. I will unexpectedly get an alert from the app telling me about some special offer or another. My understanding is that they aren't supposed to do this. I'd like to continue using the app but this behavior both infuriates me and appears to violate Apple's rules (according to the first tip here: https://developer.apple.com/appstore/push-notifications/index.html)
I've seen Draw Something do this in the past before I disabled notifications for it and eventually stopped playing it, and TextMe is currently doing it.
Where can I complain about these apps doing this?
    Here's an example:

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico my first language is Spanish. I do not speak English, however I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.

  • How to complain about bad web site

A web site came up when searching for another website. The website pretended to have the name of the site I was looking for. When I selected the false link I was taken to www.mawords.com which showed a header that implied it was the site I was looking for. When I clicked to exit the page another page blasting an ad opened in a new tab that took over my screen. I was forced to endure the unwanted advertizement until I found a way to escape (close) the tab.
This is a bad experience especially for the average (novice) web user. How can mozilla users complain about these kind of pouncing and abusive web marketers?

Hi agitator, there are a few things that you can do to report that site. The first thing that you can do is to report it to Firefox/Mozilla. You can do this by going to the area where you can get to the settings on Firefox. You do not want to click on Firefox. Insted what you want to do is click on the question mark. This is the help area. One of the options on this is "report a web forgery" . That information will go to Mozilla so that we can help other people avoid that site. If you want to report it to law enforcement and you live in the USA you can go to [http://ic3.gov ic3.gov] .

  • How get info about computer app is running on?

I am making an application that will have a license for running on only one computer at a time. I will have a license file that will hold info about the app, its version, etc. But I also want to put info about the computer that it's being installed on (none of that info will be sent to me, just saved in the license - enrypted - so the license can't be used on a diff computer). I do NOT want the OS name and version (they can change that) but the actual computer info.
I know some C/C++ programs can do this, but is there any way to get this info from java? Does anyone have any sample code or even just suggestions of places to look for this information? It'd be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

I know it's not a perfect solution - yes someone could
decompile it, but how many people do that or know how
to do that? Well, most semi-decent Java programmers know how to do that. Then they'll decompile and crack it and distribute it, provided that your
    program actually is something good.
While doing what I suggest wouldn't stop
100% of the users from pirating my software (which I'm
attempting to make a living off of), it would stop
MORE than if I didn't do it.Probably it'd annoy more potential customers. It's a very bad idea to piss off the customers.
As for changing the HD, or even the computer it's on,
that would be totally possible. The app is equipped
with a way to invalidate the license so it won't work
on that computer, and contact my site to invalidate
the public key and then allow them to redo it on
another computer/HD. It all would take only about 2
minutes actually, so it's not even an inconvenience. As a potential customer I'd have to disagree.
I see no problem with that.Yes, but you're the author not the customer.
Do you or anyone else know of a way to do this, even
if not through Java, in C (JNI) or C++?Through JNI it's possible naturally, but I don't know the specifics.
    The reason
it's a big deal is this: for a company like MS if only
20% of the users of their product actually pay for the
product, they're still making millions. If only 20% of
the users paid for mine, I wouldn't even have enough
money to live for 3 months!Get a job? :) Sorry, but seriously having copy protection isn't really going to make a difference. If your product is really good it will get cracked, if it's a specialized piece of software that won't be circulating in the mainstream, then a simple license check would suffice.

  • HOW TO COMPLAIN ABOUT NOKIA 6230i

    Hi Nokia Users
I would like to request that more people with 6230i handsets complain to nokia either by phone or email.
The reason i am asking everyone this is that it seems whatever is posted here in discussions doesnt get any attention from nokia.
I and many others have complained about this handset for months and nothing has happend not even an NSU response.
Nokia seem to focus more on newer handsets and forget about the majority of the true honest customer.
This handset should be seen as priority immediately over and above all other handset right now regardless of what anyone else thinks.
So email nokia or phone get as many complaints as possible.
    Madmick

just to make it clear to everyone the 6230i was released in 2005 not 2002 .
the mobile everyone is getting mixed up with is the common old 6230 note no (i) at the end.
even though this mobile is nearly two years old it should still have full support remember you and everyone else who has a nokia handset wouldnt like it if support for it was cut off after just six months..
so dont expect me to accept the lack of support as i have stated many times before.
read as many of my posts as you can before making any statement or posting any answer to me.
just a small breakdown of the issues
the 6230i has over 30 known faults with firmware older than 03.80 or 03.88.
the present released firmware is definately 04.22 not 03.88 and that is directly from nokia and a number of friends worldwide who work in the mobile phone industry including and especially Nokia...
so to put it politely i should have a free firmware for my handset like everyone else as i have no warranty and i am definately not paying any more money for my £200 handset that has already cost me an extra £150 since purchase .
so please do not write back and say take it to a service centre as they are the main problem..

  • How do I complain about an app that took away features and made me pay to upgrade to get them back?

I had the app Moe's Notes for at least three months before they took away all of the features that made it useful and asked me to pay for a $3 upgrade to get them back.
It used to allow me to take multiple pictures of a place and record the location (I used it for scouting locations for films). Now it consistently drops the pin at an address that is not the address I'm at and when I try to correct it it makes me upgrade. It's completely useless now.
I tried to upgrade and though I've been billed I still get messages from my app that the upgrade didn't go through.
Apple's support has really gone to ****, I've been traveling in circles on the website since I followed the "report a problem" link in my receipt e-mail from the iTunes store.
I'm really getting sick of how Apple's App system works, there's so much needless buerocracy that doesn't protect consumers from people who can just take away products you've paid for. It's like Home Depot sneaking into your house at night to remove the claw from your hammer or one of the splines in your phillips head screwdriver.

The issue is as to whether I am out of warranty or the phone is out of warranty. Seems it's me!
The phone first went into action in late April 2011 and so is less than 1 year old. Do apple warranty, for 1 year, I will have A working iPhone or do they warrant that the specific iPhone in my pocket will work for one year?
While I can appreciate there must be rules, most people talk about a one year warranty on the phone. In any event, it's not clever of Apple - shouldn't it be reasonable to expect a phone to operate for at least 1 year? I can now not hear people on calls in a lot of situations where there is any appreciable amount of background noise and that is not acceptable in my book on a unit less than one year old.

  • How can a complain about an app basically stealing money?

hello, i couldnt find any other way to complain apart from forums
My friend and I bought coins on a game. He bought rather a large amount and put it in alliance. someone else in alliance hacked the game and fed people fake coins and our alliance too. Haypi Kingdom then took the coins (which is fine) banned his account and left it at that. they also too my friend's 650 coins he bought and now refuse to refund or give them back as they were not hacked and were not used.
The developer refuses to contact us and the support refuses to contact us.
instead of resolving the issue they are ignoring us. He spent about $50 and they wont refund!
what can we do or how can i complain?
there is evidence to show the coins weren't hacked. They just wont give them back.
we didnt ask for the hacking nor want it. incredibly frustrsating!

Try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • How to complain about reminders

Where can I complain to Apple about how much reminders ***** in Mountain Lion. It's essentially useless now that I can't set a due date. So please, someone let me know where I can direct my displeasure.

But once it reminds me the item disappers. I'm a student and used to use the reminders app throughout the semester as a to do list. I may not finish something (a reading assignment, for example) on the day it is due, or even in time for class. In those cases, however, it is nice to be able to complete them at a later date and check them off when they get done.
Reminders in Mountain Lion has lost that ability.

  • How to complain about an application?

    Hello,
Last year I bought the application 'iPref' for almost 4 €. With the new software 3.0, the application is not working anymore... I saw that this application is now for free. I wrote to the application developer but until now no answer Do you know where I could get my money back? How can it be that first an application is not for free and not working and afterward the application is for free? Is it possible to have my money back?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Eric

Your post says the app doesn't work "anymore." When you bought it a year ago, I guess it worked. As to why it might be free now? Some companies charge for apps until they develop something else, then put the first one for free to generate interest in their newer products. Some re-cover their development costs with a profit then put the app for free. Some expand upon their app's capibilities and charge for the enhanced version while putting the original version out for free. Some switch to "free" by selling ads in their software. After a year, I doubt most companies would refund your money, especially when they have updated the app to work with iPhone's current OS. You should probably just delete the old app and download the free newer version so it works again and enjoy it.

  • How to complain about an unethical BT cold call?

How can a BT representative have the right  to cold call my 81 year old mum and sell her a broadband package when she doesn't have a computer & doesn't even know what the internet is?
    Where is the moral code?
My attempts at sorting it all out have been met with abject incompetence
Why doesn't anyone at BT take responsibility?
Who do I contact to get some sense & some proper accurate action?

Hello johneh27, I think this is an appalling situation, if you don't get anywhere with it you should contact the forum mods at the link  below you will need her account number.

  • How do I complain about - warn others about - an app?

I've searched but cannot find how to complain to Apple about Tappages, an app by Wombat.
Tappages has not worked properly for three months - the Back Up Files function always fails - and in spite of repeated requests for help have never had a reply or seen the problem fixed.
I also want to warn others not to buy Wombat's apps as I suspect they may have gone out of business - and even if not offer no support.
Many thanks if you can help me find the right department at Apple.
    Ian Strathcarron

If you've bought it then you should be able to leave a review, either directly on the iPad via the app's page in the App Store app or via iTunes on your computer. You can use use the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and use the 'Report a Problem' link.
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

  • TS1702 How do I complain about spamming from App Store vendors

How do I complain about spamming from Kabam.Com after uninstalling their product and following unsubscribe links?

I would be pretty upset about this too.
    Read this KB article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2727
It does not specifically recommend this as a solution, but there is a "Report a Problem" link on that page:
Try that, and follow up with an email to App Store Support:
