Hi,
While creating Dash Board prompt choose the control to 'Calendar'.
I think it is not possible to provide 'Calendar' control using Prompts tab while creating request.
It is possible to write Java Script for a Column of data type 'char'. So, cast the date data type to char.
Go to: Column Properties --> Data Format
Choose override default data format to view the available options in the drop down list.
I would be very happy if anybody acknowledge me that I am wrong.

Hi Vijay,
TO copy values from Model Node to Value Node use the copyElements() method of the WDCopyService API. To acheive this, the name and type of the attibutes in the Value Node should be same as Model node attributes.
Example: -
Model Node <----
> Value node
---Name-String                                       ---Name - String
---Number-Integer                                  ---Number - Integer.
then use the following statement:
WDCopyService.copyElements(wdContext.node<ModelNode>(),wdContext.node<ValueNode>());
This will copy all the values.

How to use the Oracle Cloud Database Service

Hi,
I got the trial version of Oracle cloud Database service. How to use that?
I wanted it to deploy the schema for my application. It needs the db to be pingable. I should be able to ping the db using the tnsping command.
Can any body help in this regard?

Anil -
You cannot communicate with the Database Cloud Service from outside the Public Cloud with SQL*Net or over TCP/IP, as explained in the FAQ, located here https://cloud.oracle.com/mycloud/f?p=service:database_faq:0:::::. The Database Cloud Service is a PaaS, not a DBaaS, so you won't be able to ping it in the way you describe.

Data Modeling for a Small Database Tutorial - understanding "Creating Relations Between Entities" part

I am trying to understand and make use of Tutorial: Data Modeling for a Small Database
During this tutorial I'm supposed to make Transactions Entity containing two attributes that will refer to Patrons (patron_id) and Books Entities (book_id) (2.1.4)
Later, I'm adding two one-to-many relations that duplicate mentioned attributes in Transactions Entity (patron_id1 and book_id1). (2.1.5)
So here comes my questions: what's the purpose of creating those attributes in point 2.1.4 if they're then duplicated in paragraph 2.1.5?
If it might be crucial, i'm using Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler Version 4.0.0.825 Build 825 on jdk1.7.0_25.
Bonus question: How to turn on attributes types on Logical Diagram? I can't find corresponding option anywhere...

Is is possible to connect Netbean IDE to Oracle XE database using network drivers provided with Netbean.
I m giving following input parameter to Netbean.
Data Input Mode : Field Entry
Driver Name: JAVA DB(Network)
Host:lightweight-ovm
Port:1521
Database:XE
Username:lightweight
Password:xxxxx
When tried connecting the Oracle XE using netbean i have got following error.
ubable to add connection. cannot establish a connection to jdbc:derby://lightweight-ovm:1521/XE
using org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDriver(Insufficient data while reading from network - expected a minimum
of 6 byes and received only -1 byrtes. the connection has been terminated.
However i can able to establish connection in jsp pages using following connection string.
Class.forName ("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:XE", "lightweight", "oracle");
What is wrong here?
