How to connect successfully to Olite DB from JDev?

According to some docs I setup a DB connection from JDev to the internal Olite DB.
Therefore I used the following parameters:
username=system
Password=manager
Deploy Password=yes
Driver= Type 4 Driver
Hostname=localhost
JDBC-Port=1531
SID=orabpel
DriverClass=oracle.list.poljdbc.POLJDBCDriver (=greyed out)
Library=Olite40
Classpath=D:\SoaSuite\v10\bpel\lib\olite40.jar
However when I test it I get an "Invalid connect string" error
Why?
Peter

Hi Peter,
Is Soa suite installed in your machine?

  • How to connect to a Sql server from Oracle using db link

    Hi All,
    Does anybody have any idea about how to connect to a sql server from oracle database using db link to syncronize the data? I need to pull the data from Sql server table to Oracle tables and relay messages back to the sql server.
    Thank you,
    Praveen.

    we have 2 products - DG4MSQL and DG4ODBC.
    DG4ODBC is for free and requires a 3rd party ODBC driver and it can connect to any 3rd party database as long as you use a suitable ODBC driver
    DG4MSQL is more powerfull as it is designed for MS SQL Server databases and it supports many functions it can directly map to SQL Server equivalents - it can also call remote procedures or participtae in distributed transactions. Please be aware DG4MSQL requires a license - it is not for free.
    Check out Metalink and you'll find notes how to configure both products.

  • How To Connect To Oracle 11g Database From Microsoft Excel

    Hi All,
    I have Windows7 64bit installed in my laptop.
    I have Microsoft Excel 2007 installed.
    I tried connecting to Oracle database ( This is not a local database).
    Navigation used:
    Data> From Other Sources > From Data Connection Wizard > Other/Advanced > Next > Microsoft OLE DB Provider For Oracle > OK
    Now I get a pop up to enter:
    username
    password
    server
    When I enter all the required details I get this error "ORA-06413 CONNECTION NOT OPEN"
    Is there no need to give PORT number?
    Thanks,
    Vishwamber Shetty

    Hi,
    Did you install oracle client on the machine? Can you do "tnsping <SID>"? Can you connect to DB using sqlplus ?
    Try using tnsname for server name.
    Connecting to Microsoft Data Sources Through ODBC Connection  This shows how to connect using ODBC connection. I think this would be more appropriate.

  • Unable to create connection to Application Server Control from JDev

    Hi All,
    I am unable to create connection to Application Server Control of SOA Suite from JDeveloper and getting following error:
    Error getting OC4J Process for: opmn-home+oc4j-<hostname>-<OPMN Port>-default:
    Error connecting to OPMN (is it running?): Connection refused: connect
    I restarted all OPMN processes...still getting the same error.
    Thanks
    Krrish

    Hi.
    I got a similar error sometime ago.
    It was related to OPMN not getting bound to the correct server IP. It happened because my SOA Suite was installed in one machine that does not have a fixed IP (or uses loopback adapter) and then I tried to connect to this SOA Suite from another machine, using JDev.
    I checked this by running "opmnctl debug". then you can see on what IP the opmn is listening on.
    Didn't know how to solve this.

  • Connection to the external WLS from JDev

    Hi,
    I am with Jdev 11.1.1.5
    I am getting trouble creating a connection to the admin weblogic server runnig on the same box.
    I was trying to do this from within doing from within my tutorial BPM project while creating a new user under Organization node.
    Once all names and credentials are supplied upon testing the connection I am getting
    Testing JSR-160 Runtime ... failed.
    Cannot establish connection.
    Testing JSR-160 DomainRuntime ... skipped.
    Testing JSR-88 ... skipped.

    Testing HTTP Authentication ... success.
    2 of 9 tests successful.
    The admin wls server that I was trying to create connection to is up and running and accessible as I verified.
    Could someone please indicate what the problem may be?
    I thought I should be able to create application server conneciont through Application Resources / Connections but only options from right-click on Connecitons-->New I am seeing are:
    Database
    BAM
    JMX
    SOA-MDS
    URL
    WebDAV
    WSIL
    I am not seeing Application Server option as I think used to be the way in 11.1.1.6 though I may be missing something.
    Thank you

         try
              out.println("getting the connection");

              out.println("connection getted");
         catch(Exception exception1)
              out.println("error occoured ");
    pls help as soon as possible
    Sorry, for my english

    you are actually using JDBC so the DSN entry does not matter.
    2 things.
    Make sure that your oracle database driver is in your classpath on your tomcat server.
    I.E. copy the file classes12.jar into your common/lib folder of tomcat, or into your WEB-INF/lib folder of your application. and RESTART your server. classes12.jar can be found on the internet or more easily somewhere within your oracle installation. just search for it.
    Make sure your jdbc url is correct. I believe it goes like this.... fill in the blacks
    connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:scott/tiger@MyOracleHost:1521:MyDB");Note how the username are passed in the first string there fore there is no need to pass additional parameters. This method may be depriciated, but if so, just take out the user and pass from the string and continue to pass them as 3 seperate strings.
    connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:MyOracleHost:1521:MyDB","scott","tiger");That should get your connection. if not, post your errors.

  • How to connect to Hyper-V VM from WAN

    Hello everybody!
    I am beginer. I have a dedicate server with Windows Server 2008 R2 En 64bit, and i installed hyper-v with two VM. I created a virtual switch network and the VM can access internet. Now, i want to remote desktop to VM from my PC. In LAN, i typed IP of VM,
    that's OK. So if i want to remote from anywhere to VM through internet, how do type IP??
    /* So sorry because my English is not good*/

    It sounds like your VMs do not have public IP addresses.  In that case, you will need to have your router redirect based on ports coming in.  I've done this and it works quite well.
    On your router, you configure it to listen on your public IP address that you can use for accessing your host.  By default, when you make an RDS connection to that server, you are coming in on port 3389.  What you set up on your router is something
    like this:
    <publicIP>:12345 redirect to <hostIP>:3389
    <publicIP>:12346 redirect to <vm1IP>:3389
    <publicIP>:12347 redirect to <vm2IP>:3389
    and so forth. Then when you connect via RDP from the WAN, you connect to <publicIP>:<desired port>.
