How to Connect to UniData from Data Services

Other ETL tools like DataStage has a Unidata connector stage
Is there anything similar in BusinessObjects Data Services ?

There is no separate connectivity available out of the box. However, if there is a JDBC driver available for it then you can use that to connect to it as a SQL technology. Or you can invoke SSAS web services and process the xml output in odi.

  • How to execute a HANA stored proc from Data Services

    Hi
    How do i execute a HANA stored procedure from Data Services.
    in the HANA SQL editor , we run the stored procedure "name_of_sp" as
    call name_of_sp ();
    call name_of_sp ( 1 , 2 ) // suppose 1 and 2 are two integer input parameters.
    so how do I call the above from Data Services .
    SQL('name_of_datastore', 'call name_of_sp()') does not seem to work , ,
    Rishi

    I got the answer , we dont need to import sp .
    i was just having a syntax error:
    the statement below works
    SQL('name_of_datastore', 'call name_of_sp()');

  • Secondary Unit Designations from Data Services' Global Address Cleanse

    Using Data Services' Global Address Cleanse transform and want to have multiple Secondary Unit Designations retained, parsed, standardized and returned in output data.
    ie:  1 Dexter Ave Floor 10 Suite 5
    Only finding "Suite 5" store in the output SECONDARY_ADDRESS field.
    The 1st unit of the 2 units, "Floor 10" is being lost consistenly using the Global Address Cleanse transform (not the US Regulatory Address Cleanse transform).    I want to standardize and output secondary and tertiary unit designations and numbers like Building 2 Floor 10 Suite 5 and other multi-level unit desinations such as those listed by the USPS at http://pe.usps.com/text/pub28/pub28apc_003.htm .
    So is any Complex_Name and Complex_Type address line info like "Rockafellow Center", "Eastdale Mall", "Manhattan Mall", "Building 2", etc.
    Same behavior for US and Canada.  Multiple units or dwellings are very common on input addresses and should be retained as per USPS Cass Certification.  How can this be accomplished using Data Services' Global Address Cleanse transform?

    Clark,
    you either need to download one of the following additional Address Directories
    - Address Directory - All-World
    - Address Directory - United Kingdom
    for Data Services XI 3.x from the SMP. To have access to them you need a Annual Subscription to the Directories.

  • How to connect oracle database from tuxedo

    Hi,
    How to connect oracle database from tuxedo.
    If any one can help me.
    Regards,

    it depends on configuration your going to choose, there are two ways--
    - Using X/Open standards, for this
    you have to make an entry of Resource manager in $TUXDIR/udataobj/RM file.
    Then in UBBConfig file in GROUPS section u have to set Openinfo.
    It also depend on which database you are going to use.
    In your service now you need to call tpopen() API from tpsvrinit() function.
    - Other possibility is, take an implicit connection using Pro*C or Pro*Cobol whatever platform you are using.

  • How to connect to db from sql navigator ?

    database active and working.
    login from web working normally.
    how to connect to db from sql navigator ?

    Remote connections generally need three bits of information, whether its an oracle, odbc, or some other type of client ...
    1. Where does the database "live" (hostname or IP address)
    2. What port is the database listener "listening" on for connections
    3. What is the database service name or $ORACLE_SID
    Default port is 1521, if its an XE install the service name is XE out-of-the-box (as set up by the installer and no DBA intervention.)

  • Is it possible to invoke a Java class from Data Services 4.0?

    Is it possible to invoke a Java class from Data Services? I have a query transform with a varchar column which I want to run an external java class against to encrypt the string value. In the Management Console, I created an adapter of type TestAdapter and referenced my jar file in the Classpath section, but when I create a Datastore of type Adapter I can't import any functions related to my java class? It seems like I need to create a new Adapter type similar to the TestAdapter with the 'Adapter Class' set to my java class? I can't figure out how to do this - which is the correct approach and is there some documentation available? thanks!

    First u nees to imoprt the class which u are doing right
    then u need to call the function of the class , and then you can put the value in a string .
    DbCon.function()
    String data = DbCon.db;
    where db is a string in DbCon

  • I did an update to my wife's iPhone and now it won't connect through the 3G. It says you are not connected to a cellular data service

    I Updated my wife's iPhone the other to the new operating system. It asked me first to use iCloud backup so I did. After the update was complete my wife can use wifi but when we try the 3G it says you are not connected to a cellular data service.
    IT shows Bell as the provider but we seem to have lost something during this update.
    can someone help me please.

    Check Settings>General>Cellular and make sure Cellular Data is set to On.  If it is, try putting it in Airplane mode for 15 seconds, then turn Airplane mode off again.  If it persists, give you carrier a call to confirm that it's properly activated with them and that your data plan is properly provisioned.

  • How to connect to database in web service??

    Hi all,
    How to connect to database in web service ? Can anyone give some advice what kind of database should i use? thanks

    No difference. Just connect as usual!
    Let me give you an example:
    Code to connect to postgresql db ...
    public Connection connectPostgresql(String servername, String dbname, String username, String password)
              Connection conn = null;
              try
                        // Load the JDBC driver
                        String driverName = "org.postgresql.Driver";
                        Class.forName(driverName);
                        // Create a connection to the database
                        String url = "jdbc:postgresql://" + servername +  "/" + dbname;
                        conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, username, password);
                        return conn;
              catch (ClassNotFoundException e)
                        // Could not find the database driver
                        return conn;
              catch (SQLException e)
                        // Could not connect to the database
                        return conn;
    }Code for an axis web service ...
    public Element[] updateProfile(Element[] params)
              String message = "";
              // get str 1
              Node node1 = params[0].getFirstChild();
              String str1= node1.getNodeValue();
              // get str 2
              Node node2 = params[1].getFirstChild();
              String str2= node2.getNodeValue();
              Connection conn = connectPostgresql ("localhost","myDatabase","myUsername","myPassword");
              // there is a method to insert these params to db
              boolean isInserted = insertParams(conn, str1, str2);
              if(isInserted )

  • Unable to Connect Oracle 7 with Data Services 3.2

    Hi All,
    I am incredibly facing an issues with Oracle 7 connecting with Data Services 3.2. with Native client drivers (TNS Names).
    The client legacy application is on Oracle 7, they are moving the data from legacy to SAP ECC. My role is to transfer the data from Oracle 7 to SAP ECC, We are using Data Services 3.2 for conversion. This Data Services 3.2 is not connecting with Oracle 7 by using oracle native drivers (TNS Names).
    I am able to connect Oracle 8 client with SQL *Plus, but with Data Services its not connecting, I am able create Data Store but when try to import the table the error message I am getting like "ORA-24316: Illegal handle Type"
    Is there any other solution for this to connect, or Is Data Services 3.2 will not connect to Oracle 7 since its older version.
    Please reply with your thoughts, or with some solution.
    Appreciate your prompt reply. Many thanks.

    Hi Paul,
    Currently I am using ODBC connection to read the data from legacy Oracle7, but ODBC is very very slow, queries are taking hours to fetch the data. Is there any other solution by chance... I read that DataDirect is the one can connect to any versions of oracle and its bit faster, is that true. Please clarify me. If that is the solution where can I get this DataDirect drivers for oracle 7? Please advice me.
    Thank  You,
    Ashok

  • How to call stored procedure in data services?

    Hi, all,
    I'm a newbie and am trying to evaluate Flex for our
    development environment. We use a lot of Oracle stored packages in
    the database to process the business logic. However, I can't seem
    to find a good example to call a stored procedure in flex data
    services.
    Here is a part of my data-management-config.xml:
    <destination id="oracle2">
    <adapter ref="java-dao" />
    <properties>
    <use-transactions>true</use-transactions>
    <source>flex.data.assemblers.SQLAssembler</source>
    <scope>application</scope>
    <metadata>
    <identity property="GKEY"/>
    </metadata>
    <network>
    <session-timeout>20</session-timeout>
    <paging enabled="false" pageSize="10" />
    <throttle-inbound policy="ERROR" max-frequency="500"/>
    <throttle-outbound policy="REPLACE"
    max-frequency="500"/>
    </network>
    <server>
    <database>
    <driver-class>oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</driver-class>
    <url>jdbc:oracle:thin:xxxxxxxxxxx:1521/racdev</url>
    <login-timeout>15</login-timeout>
    </database>
    <actionscript-class>History</actionscript-class>
    <fill>
    <name>by_nbr</name>
    <sql>select to_char(POSTED,'dd-Mon-yyyy hh:mi:ssAM')
    POSTED, GKEY, EQUSE_GKEY,WTASK_ID,VSL_ID,VOY_NBR,STATUS from
    equipment_history where eq_nbr = #sNbr# order by posted
    desc</sql>
    </fill></server>
    </properties>
    </destination>
    How do I call a stored procedure named
    pk_equipment_history.get(eq_nbr varchar2, o_resultset out
    sys_refcursor) in place of the sql select in the above file? The
    o_resultset output parameter will return exactly the same result as
    the sql. How do I bind the output parameter?
    TIA

    Hi,
    Your question isn't related to Java Programming and should be asked in a [Hibernate forum|http://forum.hibernate.org/]
