How to control MS excel from labiew ?

I'm using Labview 5.1 and i would like to Know if is possible to totally control MS excel from Labview: to write into a specific file of MS excel wich contain already some information.

Generally you use ActiveX to control Excel from LabVIEW. The best way to understand that would be to run 'Write Table to Excel" example that ships with labview. You can access that example by going to Help>>Search Example and then under "activeX".
Also for more flexible control of excel from labview you can also use the latest "Report Genaration Toolkit" for labview that allows you to interact not only with Excel but also MS Word.

In the example finder ">Help>Find Examples >>search for Excel", you'll find a sample program called "ActiveX Event Callback for Excel".
It opens the Excel Application.. You can build on this to open/create new worksheet(s), etc.

I wanna develop iTV like DVB-MHP Ref-Impl at devicetop.com, but I want to control the GUI from server not build the GUI at client. it's like if we build web page database. at client side will request page to server and server send the UI+database to client. but the client side is iTV from devicetop. can I realize this???

Well, MHP doesn't explicitly support it, but if you can implement it, then it's allowed. Implementing it is the hard part :)
The rest of this answer assumes that you're not using DVB-HTML (fairly safe, since no available platform that I know of currently supports it). If this isn';t the case, please ignore the rest of this.
Narakrishna, why do you want to build the GUI on the server and not the client? Given the way that MHP is designed to operate (e.g. like writing any other Java code, where the client running the app handles everything), then doing this will get extremely complex. You're assuming that a return channel exists and is always on, which will not be the case for most users. Since most of the existing MHP implementations use PSTN modems for the return channel if they have one, using an application like this could get very expensive for the user. This situation isn't likely to change in the short term.
It could also be more computationally expensive to render a GUI built on the server than to just build the GUI on the client, since the GUI would eventually have to be converted to Java objects to be displayed. It's much easier to simply build the GUI on the client from Java objects int he first place.
One way of doing someting similar (at the expense of object carousel size and application loading time) would be to hold the descriptions of pre-built GUI components in the oject carousel. You can then update these when you need to. There's a couple of downsides to this approach though:
1) the GUI components are the same for every user
2) depending on what you wanted, you'd still need to do some customisation on the client.
3) you need some way of turning the description in to a real Java GUI component. Maybe you could serialise Java objects for your GUI and do it that way, but I'm not sure.
On the whole, I don't think that this is the best approach to building a GUI for MHP apps due to the limitations of the platform.

How to control linux systems from 12c which is based on windows os

My title is not very understanding.
i can explain,
in my pc, i have a virtualbox and guest os is Linux. On this linux virtualbox, i'm running a RAC database.
i installed a single instance database on windows and then i installed 12c enterprise manager by referencing this single instance database.
Now, i want to control my rac database from 12c which is installed on windows. I can ping my linux machines from windows but i cant recognize linux host names from 12c.
is it possible?

How export data in Excel From Visual Composer

Hay everybody,
I would like to export my data result from Visual Composer to Excel. I've tried with an export data buton, but the exported file has a very bad format in Excel. I've tried an hyperlink buton which contain the Reptname data of the query too, but I can't keep my filters. This second solution can be nice for the format. If anyone knows how I can keep my filters, I would be fine.

How do I stop Excel from trying to rebuild the Outlook database when I try to open a .xls file?

Using Office 2011. When I try to open a .xls or .docx file, Excel or Word wants to rebuild the Outlook database. I do not have Outlook installed.
The file will open if I dismiss the Outlook query popup, and double click on the same file I just tried to open.
Works fine, just irritating.

Open Mail, then open Preferences (command-comma), and on the "General" pane the top entry is "Default email reader." Choose Mail (6.3) from the box.
Now all mailto: links will open Mail by default. If you ever want to set another mail client as the default, choose it in that box.

How to control Inspeciton generation from Process/ Production Order

In our business place earlier we used to have Process order.The specific Process order type wouldn't generate any Lot.But once we switch to production order , we are getting inspection lot for New Production Order type.
The need is that for specific production order (which is not for main production), the system shouldn't generate 03, 04 type of inspection lot with many real process / production inspection tests.
For this purpose we tried to limit the inspection type for Production order using Order type dependent parameter.
In that we assign new inspection type (other than 03 or 04 inspection types ). The new inspection type is attached with new Usage.And New usage has got its own Group counter with limited test.
So Group counter created with new usage. New usage used in new inspection type. And new inspection type tied with production order. With this we were able to limit for not having inspection lot of 03 inspection type for this production order.
But system generate the 04 type of inspection lot , though production order has got new inspection type attached with it.
Also the new setup 04 type of inspection lots in created mode.
How to make sure that system only generate the new inspection type inspection lots.

If you want to restrict quality inspection based on production order type, Its possible. Use exit QAAT0001. Take help from ABAPer, dont forget to set E_NO_INSPECTION based on the order type field there. VERY IMPORTANT: Put E_TQ32 = I_TQ32 in the program, otherwise you will get error "Post stock in QM only"

How to control managed server from alternate admin ?

Hi All,
We have two managed servers m1 and m2 in ip1 and ip2 and the admin adm1 is in ip3. We have a scenario where there is a problem with the admin server and it regularly goes down in ip3. All the servers are in individual filesystem. To avoid the loss of control we have already packed and unpacked the admin from ip3 into ip4. When we start the admin in ip4 we dont see the managed servers as running instead we see them as shutdown. Is it possible to control the managed servers from the alternate admin server in ip3 without restarting the managed servers ?.

Managed servers ping the admin URL every 10 seconds until it comes back up. When the admin server's IP has changed
you need a way for the admin URL to allow the managed server to find the restarted admin server on the IP address.
A way to achieve this is by using a DNS name that maps to both IP addresses.

How to control labview VI from a program not written in LabView on another computer?

I am tasked with finding a way to control (an existing) LabView application (VI) from another computer (networked together) as part of a larger application which is not constructed in LabView (likely C# .Net Windows app).
So, I am looking to find a solution that
a) requires minimal change to the existing stand-alone LabView VI
b) does not require LabView on the remote (controlling) computer.
Controlling the LabView application involves communicating various setpoints etc, controlling start / stop, and getting back from the application some measured data values; could be treated as file transfer or data streams.
Will it be fruitful to look into controlling the VI over TCP/IP? I gather that support exists in LabView for sending and receiving data over TCP connections. This approach would I guess require code to be added to the existing VI to handle commands and requests on the connection; simulating the ability to interact with the front panel.
Are other options available? I see in the help pages mention of DataSockets and web services among other approaches.
I am totally new to LabView, so all suggestions gratefully received, but please don't assume any knowledge of LabView.

You can control LV from other applications using the ActiveX interface from VI Server. Since you want to do this from a remote machine, you would have to enable ActiveX-access using DCOM. This is a rather worksome efford and to my experience not really suggested.
So i suggest you to define a TCP-based protocol for remote control of your dedicated application. This of course is only valid, if the application is already running on the "server". So your "client" connects, sends commands which are executed by the "server" and data and status information is sent back. And you are correct that this will require (significant) changes to the LV application.
Web Services are also a valid approach if you can connect to web based applications. LabVIEW utilizes RESTful Web Services architecture. REST provides a lightweight
protocol accessible to a wide variety of clients. The architecture does not
require complex message parsing and provides a simple interface for you to begin
using Web Services
in LabVIEW.
Other methods are possible, but i recommend you to pick one of those.

It seems your problem lies in your current lack of understanding of the ActiveX control in LV.
This link provides a lot of information regarding the use of ActiveX controls in LV, follow the document links for more info.
Try to explain in more detail which part of the ActiveX control interfacing you don't get to work.

The infokiosk will have just five control button (four arrows and an OK button), which will map to corresponding keys on keyboard. It will be running a simple Linux system and Firefox browser as GUI.

How to control main timeline from buttons in a movieclip - job in jeopardy!

I am trying to do a simple thing in theory. In my main timeline I have a series of images with frame labels for each. In a movieclip (with its own labels & script) below the images, I have two panels of butttons that flop back and forth (to save space). The idea is to simply have the main timeline play the frame specified by the corresponding button in the movieclip. I tried the parent.child thing but either im doing it wrong or that isnt the solution. If anyone can help me I will be saved from certain death. If you think any other part of my project may be to blame, Ill be happy to provide anything that can help. Thanks in advance.

The 1009 error indicates that one of the objects being targeted by your code is out of scope. This could mean that the object....
- is not in the display list
- doesn't have an instance name (or the instance name is mispelled)
- does not exist in the frame where that code is trying to talk to it
- is animated into place but is not assigned instance names in every keyframe for it
- is one of two or more consecutive keyframes of the same objects with no name assigned in the preceding frame(s).
If you go into your Publish Settings Flash section and select the option to Permit debugging, your error message should have a line number following the frame number which will help you isolate which object is involved.
