if i am understood correctly. while creating new fusion web apps while configuring adf-security HTTP Basic Authentication is comes as default option. he mentioning in that way.
do You want to secure the login page itself? This doesn't make sense as you need to login to get to the login page.
i hope he is not asking like as you mentioned.
from my experience i will interpret like this

could you be more precise: Where do you want to register users?
There are two options:
(1) you want to simultaneously create users in Domino and in the SAP EP portal database: then you should prepare the users in text files.
(1a) one for the EP users:

AM using jdev 11.1.2.3
I followed these blogs to configure adf security using sql authenticator

I have created application roles admin and user. Unable to create enterprise role with same name. When i am trying to map application role with enterprise role it is not displaying in mapping window..
The following log message
Removing existing role admin
creating new role admin.
with this it is recreating the new role and role id gets change when ever i m restarting my server and deploying the application..

Session expired (timeout) without ADF Security using.

I have a problem with my application in which i use own security realization without ADF Security using. I realized custom implementation of javax.servlet.http.HttpSessionListener interface, in which i log session creation and expiration events. On WebLogic I realized customDBMS authentification class. Session timeout defined in web.xml (<session-timeout>5</session-timeout>), in weblogic.xml session timeout not define.
Problem description: when session expired (popup warning displayed before this) and press OK button in popup with session expired warning, I see what no any log about session destroying from my HttpSessionListener implementation, so I cant understand, what session expired and process this event in my servlet filter. So I stay at same page (but without data in tables, coz binding variables in VO queries is not defined). If I am not click OK in the popup and wait about minute, then appear a log message about the destroying the session from my HttpSessionListener implementation. Why is the delay between the appearance of warning session expired and the actual destroying of the session in WebLogic?
I use JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0, application deployed in integrated WebLogic 10.3.5.0

I have successfully created ear file using ojdeploy on jenkins. however when am trying to auto deploy using WLDeploy ant task am getting the following
error :
weblogic.application.ModuleException: :oracle.mds.config.MDSConfigurationException:MDS-01335: namespace "/oracle/webcenter/quicklinks/scopedMD" mapped to metadata-store-usage "WebCenterFileMetadataStore" but its definition was not found in MDS configuration
Please advise how to handle this.
As am a newbie to ADF, could you please advise if it is possible for the ADF application deployments can be automated for different environments using jenkins due to this MDS dependencies.

I have a question about ADF security with multiple SSO provider.
What I am trying to achieve:
Assume there are SSO provider A, B and C. Each provider will grant a different role to the ADF application (A grant Admin, B grant Business Manager, C grant Configuration Manager). Sign out from the ADF application will log all the SSO out at the same time.
What I know:
Each SSO will need to have information about the role it provides. I will also need to write code like the following: (modified from an old answer from Frank Nimphius before)

Yeah, I had watched that tutorial, it is pretty helpful on getting 1 SSO working with the ADF security.
I am confused when there is multiple provider - do I setup the web gate so that "http://myapp:7777/LoginViaA" point to SSO Provider A, "http://myapp:7777/LoginViaB" point to SSO Provider B and so forth? **Note: the login/username can be different on different SSO provider.
In that case, I will still need to set the value in SecurityContext to say "This current user login as [email protected] via SSO A and [email protected] via SSO B", or is there some other way to handle this?

JDev11g : How to add java servlet under ADF security policies

I'm trying to set a same login on http servlet ( i create it trough wizard in jDev ) as it is for other .jspx pages.
I configured the jazn-data.xml and login ( user roles, realms ) is working fine.
But i can't configure http servlet to be under this authorization.
This problem occured when I was migrating from jDev 11g TP4 to production also from OC4J to WebLogic,
but if I create a new http servlet I am also unable to put it under JAZN authorization.

I reproduced problem on new test application, it was working fine until I set up ADF Security by wizard.
I choose ADF Authentication and Authorization then Http Basic Authentication ( on real project is form based but probablly this doesn't matters )
then for Identy store I chose Application XML, no automatic grants and without redirect.
I also set inside web.xml this ( to put servlet under same login as other pages ).

How to add new users to BPM 11g

In BPM 10g, I can add new users and roles in administrator console. How to login to BPM 11g administrator console and add new users?

While creating Human Task did you selected "Initiator" in the Pattern?
Login as administartor(weblogic) go to Administration the you will find all the processes and corresponding roles. There you can add/modify the users to the processes.

How to create new user account and delete old one?

Greetings,
we have wanted to change our alias on the discussions group but understand from the frequently asked questions section that,
"Once you create an alias, you cannot make changes to it. If you want to change your alias, you will need to create a new User Account".
However it does not go on to tell us specifically how to now set up a "new User Account". Could someone specify how to do this? And if we do this, how would we then delete the current User Account? Thank you.

Not with the same Primary address, but you can use your MM address as a secondary one. That is how I have my 2 Apple IDs setup. 1 uses my Dot Mac address and the other uses an ISP address as the Primary with the latter having my Dot Mac address as an alternate address.
Warning, even if you create a new account, you won't be able to use your current ALIAS with the new account.

I had installed oracle 11g DB and oracle client in my windows OS. I found in the 11g there is no enterprise manager console with new version. It is different from with oracle 10g.So i don't know how to create it new user.
I had created new DB instance, but i don't how to create a user on that. Who can give me a hand for that? I hope one oracle experenice expert give my answers.

Are you using the EMCA,http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28319/emca.htm#SUTIL800] to create the new repository for the EM? If not the command line than the other only way is to use DBCA(Database Configuration Assistant).I believe you are talking about that. Yes ,if the message is coming creating the repository than after wards you can login to the EM. You would get the port no of the EM's HTTP port from the $OH/install/portlist.ini file.

Roles are decided by IT managers. Suppose if Persons who are working in shopfloor or production side
give authorization to Production order create , change and Confirm like that etc
1. In role maintenance (transaction PFCG), choose the Authorizations tab page.
2. To change the authorization data for the transactions assigned to the role, choose Change Authorization Data or Expert Mode for Profile Generation. Otherwise, a dialog box appears in expert mode (see Regenerating an Authorization Profile After Changes).

How to add new user status in Solman

I wanted to add a new user status in Solman.i have added one new user status " reopen" . but when i checed it is showing as "no status".
I have also checked the table TJ30T, in this table we have 2 entry for all other user status one is in english and one is in german.
Please let me know how to add entry in this table or is there any other ways to add new user status in solman.

Explain the scenario where you want to create a new user status?
General remark:
Creation of new user status can be for 2 cases: Whether you want the status to show up in the status field or you want to only use the status to search corrections and the status is displayed in "Further Statuses" tab.
If you want to use the new user status for searching the corrections and this user status will be manually set, then you need to create the status in CRMBS02 transaction without specifying any status numbers.
Then the new status will be available in "Further statuses" tab and you need to manually set or unset the status.
If you need your user status to reflect in the status field then you've perform the following actions in SPRO:
1. Create Authorization key for the new status
2. Create the new status with status number and order of visibility; assign the authorization key to the status
3. Create the action which will set the status
4. Add the action in the action profile
5. Write the schedule condition required
These steps are on a high level. Hope this helps you to decide.
