    Once you create the view goto SE93>Select Parameter transaction and give the short desc.>
    Give the transaction as SM30(Skip the first screen-optional)>Check all check boxes under GUI support>In the default values(grid)section first row give the VIEWNAME as you created initially and the second row UPDATE as X.

    Select the parameter transaction as a radio button.

    no need to give any program name. Instead you have to give the transaction code name as SM30.

    If you are trying to read some information from SAP and you can't find the right BAPI then RFC_READ_TABLE can do the job for you.
    RFC_READ_TABLE is powerful RFC it gives you the access to all tables and views in SAP. I basically used RFC_READ_TABLE for Material Master Search application on the Intranet.
    Now you may say there are lots of BAPI for this functionality. You are right but I had to work around the BAPI to get Prices (Moving Average Price) and it just did not work very well. Because of the nature of the application I had to use RFC_READ_TABLE because then I can use powerful SQL expression for searching. RFC_READ_TABLE give you the ability to code the where clause which is quite enough.
    I have included part of the code use in asp page to read ENT1027 for Mgroup and M description & number but without object creation. The other part of the code reads MBEW for price & quantity.

    Tcode SCDO. You'll need to create a change document for you Z table and then use the FM created to record the changed data.

    Multiple tables can be linked to an auth group, but one table can be linked to only one auth group.
    You cannot link one table to more than one auth group.
    It is always advised to try to find an existing auth group having tables of same functinality and criticality, before creating a new auth group.
    In case you don't have any such auth group, I feel you can create a Z auth group using se16->tbrg.
    You can also create auth group using tcode se54.

    You must create the entire internal table dynamically, you can not add columns to a statically define internal table.  Here is an example of creating a dynamic internal table.

    I have a requirement to create a crystal report with between dates using dynamic parameters.
    I am getting data from 'BEx Query' where already filters were defined on Date field. So While I am creating a crystal report these filters are displaying under 'Parameter Fields' automatically as Static. When I execute the report I am getting these Date's as Dropdown box. But as per the 'help' in crystal reports, static values won't get updated if any changes were taken place in backend system.
    I have created a Dynamic parameter 'StartDate', but the values are not getting populated in Dropdown box.

    Attribute1_meaning is the the meaning of attribute 1.

    It also depends on your form layout. Francois' solution works if you only display one record. If you display multiple records this won't work, since an item can only have one prompt at a time. There is no set_item_instance_property for the prompt.
    In that case you can create two fields attribute1 and attribute1_meaning. You can set the visual attribute of field attribute1_meaning to look like a normal prompt.
