Break point in ABAP Routine

Hi Gurus,
In working on 3.5 version. In one of the update rule by mistake break-point is included in the routine which is written for master data look up. and v r calculating the simple formula in the update rule thats it.
For this ODS only my loading performance is very slow does the inclusion of break-point is impacting the loading ..

Also one more thing is that even if you have a break point - very often loading is deon through process chains - this would mean that the load is done through a background user - this should not imipact the data loads since debugging cannot be done using a background user and it should skip these -
IMHO - I have put in break points and transported the same into production to help debug any exceptional cases which could not be caught in development.

Create a table with a Long RAW Datatype column for storing the Image Column Data.
Create the form based on the table , which by defaults the column with LONG RAW atatype to a Image Item.
You can use Forms Built in function READ_IMAGE_FILE to read a Image file stored on the file system in to the image item.
A save on the form saves the image in the Image item in the long raw column.

Debugger Not Stopping at Break Points

Howdy folks,
I am trying to debug a rule in which I checkout / modify / checkin a renameUser view. I set some break points at the invoke statements for checking out and checking in. The rule is called from my Update User workflow. I know the rule is executing because I am dumping the context to a text xml file. The break points are right before and after the invoke that dumps the context to xml. However, when I update someone the debugger is not breaking in and stopping the thread to let me step through it. I would really like to see why my checkin and checkout invokes are not working, but can't see the error message due to the debugger not stopping...
Does anyone have any advice, clues or ideas to get the debugger to work more correctly?

It's probably running anonymously. That was my issue I think. The break points don't work on anonymous execution. At least not for me. Now, you can specify to use anonymous break points.. But then it breaks at EVERY anonymous break point. I had a hard time stepping through them all to get to what I needed to see execute, before it would time out... good Luck...

I have a power mac and the hard drive is about to die, i have a new hard drive to install, i know how to remove and put the old in the second space and load the new one, then what...when do reinstall the OS and transfer data from old drive

Any1 can guide me, how to debug oracle PL/SQL package, and have to fix bugs or changing the requirement by using toad, sometimes i resolve the problem, and i take backup in notepad, after sometime if i use the same notepad contents, the something changed, i dont no how to keep the "IF loop" correctly, Sometimes while editing, the loop nevigation changes, so that i am getting more confusions. I dont no how to correct the packages already written, and how to solve problems, i use anonymous for seeing output. Dont no how to identify and fix the bug or requirement changes,. I am not sure where the code need changes. How to test properly for fixing the bugs, and how to change the logic, any1 help me out from this,... kindly give me good solution.. thnak you in advance

DEBUG - how can I put a "break-point" when a variable have a certain value

Do you know some kind os instruction or tools to see and stop in debug a program when a variable have a specified value ?
For example:
At debug I want that a program "stop" when likp-vbeln = 70000123000.
Now for do this, I change the code and insert a IF( ), and i put a breakpoint. But i need a way without need change code.

Use Watch point for this puppose.
Watchpoints allow you the option of monitoring the content of individual variables.
The Debugger stops as soon as the value of the monitored variable arrives.
In addition, conditions can be specified. The Debugger also checks whether such a condition is fulfilled.
Creating a Watchpoint
In the toolbar of the New Debugger, you will find the pushbutton Create Watchpoint . It brings you to the dialog box Create Watchpoint.
Using this function, you can enter the variable to be monitored.
All possible ABAP data structures are allowed here.

How to get and put data in HTTP header in Client Side

One JSP's function is to display data records page by page. Client users could click "First page" or "Previous Page" or "Next Page" or "Last Page" button to let the JSP to show the corresponding page. So the JSP must remember the current page number. Due to there are a number of client users maybe access the JSP at the same time, keep the current page number in session, there will be a lot of session is created at the same time, this will impact system's performance. So using session to keep data method is not used. I plan to use request header and response header to pass the current page number. I know use the response.addHeader to put data in response header and also know use request.getHeader to get data in request header in server side, but I donot know how to put data in request header and how to get data in response header in client side. Could you please give me a help? If donot use these method, are there any other method? Thanks a lot.

In the above example RecordID=1 has 3 rows, display it as 1 row. But Whenever 'ReceivedBy' is there for same recordID put a line break before "ReceivedBy"

Forms debugger and triggers

I'm using forms 10.1.2 and trying to debug my form. Can I set break points in the code in button trigger? The break points in the procedure work but the triggers don't. Can I not debug the triggers?

I put a breakpoint in the trigger that I know is firing but it doesn't break there.
I took the code out of the trigger and made it a procedure (program unit) and put the break point there. Then called the procedure from the trigger.
That worked. But when the breakpoint was in the trigger code it never stopped.

How to put break point in the update routine

I am trying to create a break point in update routine. I can do that in the start routine but I would like to know how I can include a break point in update routine in Q.

Go to Monitor Screen of the data load -> Details tab -> data processing -> right click on Data Packets -> select simulation -> select update rules and give no.of records you want to debug and then system will display the code where you can debug by giving break points.

DEBUG Smartform:
1) One way to debug smartform is to debug the Function Module of that smartforms.
If you want to debug particular smartform node that the solution would be,
insert a "Program Line" just above the node you want to debug and this program line write a normal abap breakpoint.
So whenever you call the smartforms, it will stop at this breakpoint and you can debug onwards.
2) SFTRACE can be used for debugging SMARTFORMS.

1). Use Tools - Word Processing - Layout Set (SE71). Enter name of layout set and then Utilities - Activate Debugger.
It is of no consequence which layoutset you enter when selecting the SAPscript debugger. (Menu path: Tools-Wordprocessing - Forms, Utilities - Activate Debugger) The next layoutset called will invoke the debugger.

As per ur question there is nothing new with script debugging,
it is same as normal report debugging...

For smartforms debugging you can do this.
1. Execute the smartform (execute button in SMARTFORMS transaction)
2. Take the generated function module and display it in SE80.
3.Find the smartforms Elements (text elements, windows, code lines, loops) in this and set Soft break points.

a .In SE71->Menu->Utilities->Activate Debugger, then debugger will be get activated and when your print program is executing Script Debugger will be in active and you can proceed with your debugging.
b. Goto se38-> RSTXDBUG ->Execute this same as going thru in se71-> Menu, now debugger will be activated.

Good Morning.
I am creating a development for web dynpro Java using Function Module RFC in ABAP.
I want know how can put a break point in the system SAP ERP (Backend) and run an application in web dynpro java?
I did this steps:
1.) SE37--->name RFC
2) button Display
3) Set/Delete external Break point.
4) In the SAP Netweaver Developer Studio >Name of project>Webdynpro>Applications>Name Appplication-->deploy new archive and run.
But this not stop.
The question is :
How can do this?

If you know the program name, it is no different from normal setting of break point.
It will have a break point button in the abap editor.
Place the cursor on the line and set the break point.
Then run the transaction in another session.
Or type /h from the transaction itsefl to start the debugging.
