How to disable status bar messages

hi,
while loading a form or running the forms applications, forms applet writes log to the status bar of internet explorer.
i want to disable some of these messages. because i am listening status bar, for a specific message and these messages causes performance problem.
is there a way to do it?

First off that's what's called a kernel panic and it's the most extreme software problem as the kernel itself is malfunctioning which everything else depends upon.
It's rather easy to resolve, there are usually two causes for it, outdated software or a problem with OS X itself like it lost part of itself somehow on the drive.
So instead of disabling it which you can't as the operating system is basically frozen (not all of it of course) you should just fix it up really quick and all is well.
Depending upon what operating system the machine has gives you different options to #8 Resinstall Just OS X over itself to fix issues in OS X, and with third party "hooks" called kernel extension files (kexts) that some software place into OS X itself.
So you do that here and it won't delete programs or files, but any program with a kext file in OS X is removed by the overwrite process.
So do #8 here and other Steps as you see fit to fix the machine.

Of course doing so is going to make some software not work, so you have to check to make sure before you reinstall certain software that it's been updated and works fine with the current OS X verison.

How to disable status bar from creating a dead zone in the simulator

Is this a known bug in the simulator,where a hidden status bar is still grabbing touches? I constantly get frustrated by the inability to click at the top 20 or so pixels of the screen because that is a dead zone, and even though I have a hidden status bar the status bar is still grabbing touches there. Any way around this? And will this happen in the iPhone version, or is it just the simulator?

You have a point, if your users are filling the form in with Reader, they won't be able to save the data with the form unless the form has been "Reader Extended" (which enables this functionality in Reader for the particular form)
If you have Acrobat Pro, you can "extend" the form before you send it to the users. The following is from the Acrobat Pro help...
Enable Reader users to save form data
Ordinarily, Reader users can’t save filled-in copies of forms that they complete. However, you can extend rights to Reader users so they have the ability to do so. These extended rights also include the ability to add comments, use the Typewriter tool, and digitally sign the PDF.
1. Open a single PDF, or select one or more PDFs in a PDF Portfolio.
2. Choose Advanced > Extend Features In Adobe Reader.
These extended privileges are limited to the current PDF. When you create a different PDF form, you must perform this task again if you want to enable Reader users to save their own filled-in copies of that PDF.

Status Bar message

Hi All,
I have web Dynpro iviews in portal which are arranged in Worksets and roles. When we click on any role or workset, it is observed that the status bar message is changed accordingly. A long message starts displaying in the status bar due to Loading of the requests and directing to the pages and iViews . I have a requirement where either the status bar can be made to display only some fixed message or Status bar do not display any message at all. This needs to be done in whole portal. Please advice.

Hi,
For disabling the Status bar, just add the below line of code in Masthead (between JS code)(com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead) & redeploy.
window.document.statusbar.enable = false;
For setting default value in status bar, use:
window.status="Welcome";
and remove all occurances of mouseover.

Pls. let me know that, How to pull/fetch the data (e.g.#) from SAP Status bar message, issued by SAP, while any creation takes place?

1.All the messages will be stored in TABLE-T100.You can fetch the message from this table.
go to se11 and check T100 table.
press ctrlshiftf10.
in the sprsl field give it as EN.
press f8.
you will be able to see all the messages.
or
double click on the message on the status bar.
it will show you an help window.
there you can get the application area followed by the msg number.
(for ex Message no. AD399 AD-application area and 399 is the msg number)
now go to se91.
give the application area in the msg class
you can see all the messages.
2.If you want to raise your own message then you have to create a Message class and there you can give whatever the message you want.
Report zsridhar message-id zsr.
now double click on zsr you will be able to create you own message class where you can give you own messages which can be raised.

Suppressing status bar message after function call?

Hi,
I'm calling a few functions in a program.
After calling them, for example function "L_TO_CREATE_DN", I get a message in the status bar, in this case saying that a TO has been created successfully.
How can I suppress all status bar messages for all the functions that are being called in the program?

I have a VB6 open Crystal Reports using Crystal Reports XI R2 (SP5) and almost every time I open a report, I get an alert message about the table has been changed and I have to click "Ok" to make it goes away. Is there a way to disabled this alert or set default to "Ok" so I do not have to click this message every report. Thank you very much.

You must verify if the database has changed so you can't disable the message. CR must match what the DB is using or the reports will fail or return wrong data.
It's odd that even after verifying the DB in the designer your app still needs it to be verify the report. You did save the report correct?

Is the report creation engine and you should be using craxdrt.dll. You need to be licnesed to use craxddrt.dll and this may cause problems for you later when deploying.

The mapping is not a switch you can turn on or off but it is Event driven. You need to add code to the viewer section to capture the event if the mapping event fires. Then you can set it to the way you want to use it.
I suggest you purchase a case on line and get to the Report Design team to figure out why when you verify the report your app still thinks it needs to be verified. Something going on in your report that the forum makes it difficult to debug the problem. You can't attach files to forums.

Mostly, people don't mess with the default status bar messages any more. Since it can be used to hide the real destination of a link, the technique has been used in phishing. It's somewhat of a security problem.
IE9 doesn't seem to handle them them either. I found this page, which indicates that swapping out the status bar message is turned off by default in most newer browsers, which means that the user would have to enable it before any coding you put in would be effective.

Status Bar Message problem

I have a problem with the status bar messages.
I have extended the ItemMasterData form and have added some items that hold extra data.
In add mode, I have to make sure that values go both in the system table (done automatically by sap) and my table in the db (done by me).
The issue is when the data in the system table is added ok but the insertion in my table fails.
I add my data to the DB in the FORM_DATA_ADD event on BeforeAction false . In case this fails, I have to place a error message in the status bar and remove the inserted Items object ( it is only ok when both insertions work ).
The problem is that SAP shows the "Operation completed successfully" and my error message is not displayed. Normally I could override the status bar events and modify the message, but I need the "Operation completed successfully" to be displayed when both inserts are successful .
Any ideas on this ? Or some work - around?

We have an application that runs in full screen mode for public display, so having the status bar pop-up at the bottom of the screen is distracting when it moves between pages is distracting and detracts from the user experience.

NEED HELP ON HOW TO TURN STATUS BAR OF A JSF PAGE OFF

I need a pop-up within my application where a staff can select his HOD(An hyperlink named HODNAME with text SELECT ) and on click it shows a pop up of a page (allstafflist.jsp) which has table and contains all staff. It has Select link which return name of the HOD to the parent page. My problem is that if I set the url of HODNAME (allstafflist.jsp) and set target to (new window), it shows the page as a pop up and if I select anything it returns what I want but I don�t WANT IT TO HAVE /SEE STATUS BAR.
So I thought of writing a javascript and call the function below on click i.e

2.     how can I make the pop up from the javasript above not to be disappearing(i.e to appear as pop up and not to appear at the back of the current page)or
3.     how can I set the property or the url to be displayed not to have status bar(i.e if I set the property of hodname i.e url = "/faces/allstafflist.jsp", target="_blank")

Status Bar message No Network

I bought my original iphone right after it became available. I live in an area which does not have AT&T coverage. I used my business address (which is in the AT&T network) to obtain my AT&T account and activate my phone. I have been able to make calls and use all other features successfully until just recently. Now I am getting a message on the status bar that indicates there is "no network". An "E" used to appear in the status bar when I used my phone from home. Does anyone know how much usage in a non-network AT&T will allow before they request that you unsubscribe from their wireless service?? I love my iphone so I am hoping this will not happen. I did talk to an AT&T customer service rep and was advised to not worry about the "no network" message. And she thought I would be ok. She wasn't sure what the limitations were regarding other network usage. I remember when I signed up for the AT&T service reading something about being penalized for not using the phone in an AT&T coverage area. Anyone?

This is something you'd have to discuss with ATT. My understanding is they have the option of terminating all of your service if they deem you spend too much time roaming.
Some troubleshooting you can try:
1. Reset (hold the sleep/wake & home button until the Apple logo appears)
2. Reset network settings in the Settings options
3. Request a new SIM from ATT
4. Restore in iTunes

I have given the user the freedom to change background colour and save it in local settings. But I am confused on how to save the status bar colour settings because I want to give the user the freedom to choose from 4-5 colours where background of status bar

Where did you call the method SaveStatusBarColor() and LoadStatusBarColor()?
I have called your SaveStatusBarColor() in the OnNavigatedFrom method and called the LoadStatusBarColor() in the OnNavigatedTo method, it worked very well in my side.

I had the same problem after accessing a remote object via RMI in my GUI. As I needed a SecurityManager anyway, I just added permission java.awt.AWTPermission "showWindowWithoutWarningBanner"; to my policy-file - and the nasty status bar was gone.
