How to do a manual dequeue

Dear all,
we are running a 10g R2 replication with three apply sites. At one of the sites, a customized apply has to be done. Because of limitations with LONG columns, the apply dml handler is not an option. Also, the data must not be applied at that site (we do a different handling).
I am now looking for a method to dequeue and handle the messages manually. The idea is do run a job which does a dequeue from the local in-queue and extracts the lcr. Propagation is queue-to-queue.
Has anybody ever done this? I am stuck.

You can re-enqueue the captured messages to a persistent queue using the SET_ENQUEUE_DESTINATION procedure on your apply process rules so that your application can directly manage the messages.
For the tables of interest, create a rule (ADD_TABLE_RULES) for the apply process or use the existing apply process rules. Once you have the generated rule name (via OUT parameter of ADD_TABLE_RULES or by visual inspection of the rules), you can specify an automatic enqueue of LCRs for that table into another queue(Q2) using the SET_ENQUEUE_DESTINATION procedure of the DBMS_APPLY_ADM package. If configured within the same database (if you configure with capture/apply on the same queue), you will probably also want to use the SET_EXECUTE procedure to disable the automatic LCR apply to the local table in the database again by setting the execute parameter to FALSE. With this configuration, you can then use Q2 as the queue for your custom application and process/dequeue the messages.
