How to do From Month to Month

Hi, I am using Discoverer 4.1. I have column in a table called Dt. After i view in Discoverer, i can see Dt Month, Dt Quarter etc came automatically. Now my problem:
I want user to select From Month To Month in Discoverer( Eg: Jan to April) or From Date To Date ( 30-Jan-2006 to 28 Mar-2006).Can somebody explain me in step by step how to achieve this.
Please help me how to do parameters or Condition in discoverer to acive this.

You can create 2 parameters 'Dt to' and 'Dt from'. Place a condition 'Dt between Dt to, Dt from'.
You can create parameters by going to Tools -> Parameters and conditions by going to Tools -> Conditions.
If you just want the user to enter months as parameters, place the condition on the 'Dt Month' column.
To get the whole date instead of month, quarter, etc., Uncheck date heirarcy while creating Business Area from Discoverer Admin.

Hi,
We have several basic reports with 12 month in columns with monthly figures. We would like to try to improve these reports with 2 options (and not creating new reports):
- For each month, we would like to choose between monthly & year to date figures. (we do not have a view dimension with YTD member)
- In our period dimension we also have quarter members. How to choose between displaying month or quarter with the prompts ? (ie without having to select each month one by one)
Does it is possible to do this with FR without adding a new dimension for monthly or YTD data?

Hi Tipiak,
In order to show YTD Actual figure for the selected month, I was doing something like that
- Add a hidden col from Jan to Run Time period selected.
- Add a visible formula col and add the formula showing the total of the hidden col.
Your requirement seems more complex but you might meet some part as an initial step maybe...

Two changes from the previous example:
COUNTIFS is used to separate the Native and Foreign counts as well as the age range to be counted.
The amount subtracted from each result is the SUM of the earlier results, and includes the text value in the first cell of the column (which is interpreted by SUM as a zero).
See note below regarding my earlier formula.
When the greyed columns are hidden and the checkbox in the Reorganize pane is checked, the two tables will appear as shown below:
Close the reorganize pane, and the 'data entry form' is ready to use.
To use, enter the age first, then check one of the boxes.
As soon as one box is checked, the row will be hidden, and the next (unused) row will be shown.

Note regarding formula in my earlier post:
The earlier formula will give erroneous results as it subtracts only the count directly above it from its count of persons in the age range 0-n.
In E2 of that table, replace "-E1" with "-SUM(E1:E$1)
Fill down to E8.
Ignore the instructions (in that post) following "Fill down to E8."

sick leaves on November and Number of sick leaves in 2014. I am planning to extact 11 from 2014-11-28 and display as November on report title and the same goes for 2014. Unless you have better non complicated way. Thank you

Set each day to repeat? Edit the event, and select repeat. You can set a custom repeat, if it's specific days and not specific dates, for instance.

You can't reset the iPod with the Home and Power buttons. All y can do is restore the iPod.

                  Sorry still i am not satisfied with your answer.As you hav told to go through the TC OVBI, there i found it is no where or little related to Horizon period of Credit management of SD module. In OVBI it is meant for "Maintain Billing plan type for Period Billing". Yes there is a combo box called "HORIZON", but i believe the purpose of this Horizon is diffrentthan the "Horizon period in SD Credit management. How to stop iPad from downloading emails from months ago

I have a bellsouth.net mail account and my iPad keeps receiving emails from months ago and says I have over 10,000 emails yet to receive. How do I stop this and get only recently sent emails. Help it's driving me crazy,

Using your account page on your email server, there should be a way to delete all old emails.
I have mine set to delete automatically after a set time period. In this fashion, all received emails, whatever the device, are only recent mails.

When creating an antiquated POP account with a new email client, all received email that remains at the incoming mail server is downloaded as new and unread email.

IOS 7 Calendar on iPad I cannot go from month view to day view. When I tap on the day of the month nothing happens.

I use to be able to look at my month in the month view and when I wanted to make an appointment for a specific day I just tapped that day and it would open up the day and I could add my appointment to the time slot I wanted. Now when I am in month view and I tap on the day I want to make an appointment it does nothing. If I hold my finger on the day it creates an All Day event which is not what I want to do and even if I add a start time to the event, I don't know what times I have available on that day because the Day view hasn't opened. This is extremely frustrating. On my iphone it works properly...I can go from month view to day view by tapping on the day I want to view. Why can't I do this on my iPad?? If I could go back to ios 6 I would, calendar is not impressive at all!!
Please help with any suggestions or PLEASE APPLE.....FIX THIS!!!

I just tested, and this unfortunately still seems to be a bug in the latest iOS 7.1 release of the Calendar on the iPad, which is too bad since the release notes suggest that this iOS update included both bug fixes and enhancements to the Calendar.
To my knowledge the bug has never been an issue on the iPhone version of the Calendar which behaves exactly as you would expect it should.
It seems inconcievable given the obvious broken-ness of the current behavior coupled with what I would expect is a massive number of people who use the Calendar on the iPad, but is it possible that this bug isn't on Apple's radar?
I'm happy to submit a bug report; does anyone know offhand the process for how the public can report bugs?
This has been persistent in the product for nearly six months; it's well overdue that this bug be squashed.

How to display 3 month columns and YTD column

I need a help. My report layout requires to display the data in 3 dynamic month columns and one Fiscal year Year-to-date column for a period of time. For example, ending month is FEB:
Items : DEC : JAN : FEB : FY YTD
A : $10 : $11 : $12 : $100
B : $1 : $2 : $3 : $10
(Note: FY YTD is the total sum from OCT to FEB (5 months), not 3 months to be displayed)
I tried to create a query and use Matrix with group, but the report always display five (5) month columns
from OCT to FEB instead of displaying three (3) month columns. If the query is limited to display
three months as desired, then the total sum will be 3 displayed months only (instead of 5 months).
How to create a query or how to display three months and FY YTD or do anything else with Oracle Builder9i?

You could use the DECODE function and variables
i.e. have a four column report
in your query use somthing like
, decode(period,:P_PERIOD1,1,0)* amount as period1
, decode(period,:P_PERIOD2,1,0)* amount as period2
, decode(period,:P_PERIOD3,1,0)* amount as period3
, amount as ytd

How to get the monthly interest rate

I have been using AppleWorks for 10 years.
Since that time, I use a financial template named Mortgage Analyser.
In this file, one can get the pmt if one provided the +pv, monthly interest rate and the number of periods.+
What I get is the reverse, that is, how to get the +monthly interest rate+, if I provide the +pv, the number of periods and the pmt+?
I think I had this in the past, but I can not find it.

I already saw that, but it does not give me what I want.
That works only if you put a money at a savings account and DO NOT TOUCH IT for a given period.
My need right now is to help a girl to buy a car in 36 or 48 monthly payments and calculate the real interest.
I want to have this for any other similar buying.
I can do it using the Mortgage Analyser template changing the MONTHLY RATE by *+try and error+* but — +since I am a High School Math Teacher+ — I would like to have the function directly.
Another day I was looking on the Internet and it seems that there is no direct response for what I want, using AppleWorks.
So, if I continue to use AW, I must calculate it by try and error.
