How to ensure data from ods to cube are correct or not

hi all,
i am just trying to get data from ods to cube. how to make ensure that the records that i fetched from ods to the respective cube are correct and number of records are the same.

Dear Hari,
There are two ways of confirming correct loads:
1. Level by Level Analysis
2. Comparision with Virtual InfoProvider
First method is by analysing data at each level. First at Database Table (if loading from R/3) or Excel (if loading from flatfile), then at extraction level (See data at RSA 3, not possible with flatfile). After this load data to BW through PSA and check the content of PSA. After that load it to Infoprovider and varify there.
Second method is to create a Virtual Infocube on the datasource (extract exact data through FM). And create a multiprovider by combining this Virtual cube and original Cube. Then create a Query with calculated key figures as difference of each key figures from two cubes. This way you can say that which value is not matching.
I suggest you the first method, but the standard way would be second one at highly critical loads where you cannot match huge ammount of data.

Hi,
Can anybody tell me, step by step, how to extract data from ODS to a non-SAP system?
Is it possible to do it without programming effort? And is there volume limits for this kind of extraction?
The non-SAP system is an unix system.

Ella,
You can look at it from the concept of a BADI / Infospoke
Extract the data from the ODS to a Flat file / RDBMS using an infospoke. I am not sure as to how the infospoke loads data into the RDBMS ( did it very long ago ) but then you can push it into an RDBMS and I am sure it will be system neutral.

Error while uploading data from ODS to Cube

is
1.Name is not in the namespace for generated BW Metaobjects
2.Error 18 in the update

make sure that the Data source is replicated and tranfer rules r active.
And also check whether the all transport requests r imported properly.

Error while loading data from ODS to CUBE.

Hi friends,
When l am loading data from ODS to Cube with help of data mart, I am getting error in QA system , IN DM system ,every thing went well.IF i see the detail tab in monitor under Processing .
Its is showing like this .
Transfer Rules : Missing Massage.
Update PSA : missing massage.
Processing end : missing message.
I have checked the coding in update rules, everything is ok.
Plz any inputs.

Might means that IDocs flow is not defined properly in your QA system for myself-SourceSystem.

Error when trying to load data from ODS to CUBE

Iam getting a short dump when trying to load data from ODS to CUBE. The Run time error is 'TYPELOAD_NEW_VERSION' and the short text is 'A newer version of data type "/BIC/AZODS_CA00" was found than one required.please help me out.

A DART extraction job terminates with runtime error TYPELOAD_NEW_VERSION and error message:
Data type "TXW_INDEX" was found in a newer version than required.
The termination occurs in the ABAP/4 program "SAPLTXW2 " in "TXW_SEGMENT_RECORD_EXPORT".

Cause and prerequisites
This problem seems to happen when several DART extraction jobs are running in parallel, and both jobs access table TXW_INDEX.
Solution
If possible, avoid running DART extractions in parallel.
If you do plan to run such jobs in parallel, please consider the following points:
In the DART Extract configuration, increase the value of the parameter "Maximum memory allocation for index (MB)" if possible. You can estimate reasonable values with the "File size worksheet" utility.
Run parallel DART jobs on different application servers.
As an alternative, please apply note 400195.

in cube as in ods?

If you want to do like that, you have to create an infopack which updates data from ODS to cube.....Go to datamart ODS in your Infosouces...create an infopack....and you can giv request id in selection and do one by one

How to load data from a virtual cube with services

Hello all,
we have set up a virtual cube with service and create a BEx report to get the data from an external database. That works fine. The question is now:
Is it some how possible to "load" the data from this virtual cube with service (I know that there are not really data...) into an other InfoCube?
If that is possible, can you please give my some guidance how to set up this scenario.

Hi:
I don't have system before me, so try this.
I know it works for Remote Cube.
Right Click on the Cube and Select Generate Export Data Source.
If you can do this successfully, then go to Source Systems tab and select the BW. Here, Right CLick on select Replicate DataSources.
Next, go to InfoSOurces, click on Refresh. Copy the name of Virtual Cube and add 8 as a prefix and search for the infosource.
If you can see it, that means, you can load data from this cube to anywhere you want, just like you do to ODS.
ELSE.
Try and see if you can create an InfoSpoke in Virtual Cube. Tran - RSBO.
Here, you can load to a database table and then, from this table, you can create datasource, etc.
ELSE.
Create query and save it as CSV file and load it anywhere you want. This is more difficult.

Error in updating data from ODS to CUBE.

Hi,
I am tryin to load data manually from ODS to CUBE in NW2004s.
This is a flat file load from the datasource to the ODS and then from the ODS to the CUBE.
In the CUBE, I am trying to populate fields by using the ODS fields.
For eg.
In the ODS, a CHAR Infoobject has the data in the timestamp format(i.e. mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm ). I need to split this data and assign them to the two individual DATE and TIME Infoobject in the CUBE.
For this, I have done the coding in the Transfer Structure in the Rule Group.
The time field is gettin populated , but the date field is not getting populated.
I get an error as Eg:
Value '04052007' for CHAR 0DATE is not plausible
Due to this, the corresponding records is not getting displayed
Also, the records where the time id displayed, the date is not getting displayed inspite of the date being correct.
Please help me with a solution for this.

SAP accepts the date format in YYYYMMDD, so in the routine where you have concatenate the day month year...just do it in reverse order.....

Record increased when sending data from ODS to cube

Hello experts,
when i am sending data from ODS - CUBE i am sending 20 records of full update but in my cube i
am able to see 200 records, in those records i am getting the old records.Everytime i load the data i am getting the same problem its fetching all the old records.Please suggest me what to do inorder to reslove this problem.

Hi,
TO delete the PSA Table record details follow these steps,
Right click your ODS/CUBE and choose "Show dataflow diagram" on right side panel click "Techincal Settings" ON and you can get your PSA table name. Type this table name in SE11 and delete your records.
OR
IN RSA1 --> PSA choose your infosource and choose PSA and right click and choose delete PSA data.

Hi Chintai,
You can see the record number where the error occured in the monitor (RSMO) for this data load > goto the details tab and open up the Processing area (+ sign). Try it out...
Also about ignoring the error record and uploading the rest, this is done if you have set Error Handling in your InfoPackage (Update tab), but this would have to be done before the load starts, not after the error happens.

I have to figure out a way to extract data from a local BCS consolidation totals cube to a group BW extraction cube via a virtual cube in between the too...How can i do the extraction and what are the different ways in which it can be done..

Instead of extracting you can also consider reporting on the data with a multiprovider.

Below are the basic steps which we follow in any BI 2004S system:
1)Create datasource. Here u can set/check the Soucre System fields.
2)Create Transformation for that datasource. (no more update rules/transfer rules)
2.1) While creating transformation for DS it will ask you for data target name, so just assign where u want to update ur data.
DataSource -> Transformation -> Data Target
Now if you want to load data into data target from Source System Datasource:
1) Create infopackage for that data source. If you are creating infopackage for new datasources, it will only allow you update upto PSA, all other options u can see as disabled.
2)Now Create DTP (Data Transfer Process) for that data source.
3) NOw schdule the Infopackage, once the data is loaded to PSA, you can execute your DTP which will load data to data target.
If you are loading data from one one data target to other, no need to use PSA, you can directly execute DTP in that case.
Data Source -> Transformation (IP/DTP) -> Data Target1 -> DTP ->Data Target 2

Error when initializing the Transaction data From ODS to CUBE.

Hi,
   we have initialized the load from source system to ODS. the load was successful, and when loading from ODS CUBE(initialization). it is giving the following message.
No SID found for value '0000436038' of characteristic 0CUST_SALES.
We have updated the master data of 0CUST_SALES (DELTA UPDATE).
but still getting the same message when updating the data packets from PSA. I am unable to find the reason.
Please let me know is there any other solution.

   I have loaded master data for all the objects you have mentioned( atributes and texts). but still data packets are not getting updated. it is giving the message.
   i have also tried the elementary tests and combined tests of 0CUST_SALES, in RSRV. there were no errors found.
these data targets were newly implemented. would it be problem with routines or any other means.
Please let me know ASAP.

Reloading of deleted data from ODS to cube

i have deleted the data from the cube using selective option in the cube. Now i want to reload the deleted data. Since i have data in ODS i am loading it into cube. But it is doing a full update which i don't need. I wanted only the deleted data to be reloaded from ODS. Since i have some routines and rules in the cube. i am deleting the cube and reloading the data. Could anyone suggest

R u aware of it that which value u hav deleted................if u know that..........then run full IP with selection......In the Data Selection tab u give the selection........provided that field is included in the Data selection tab..........if not and if u hav authorization........then u can go to RSO2.....in the source system....Give the datasource name.........go to change mode .........Check the selection box for that field.......then activate the datasource............again replicate it.............then Activate the transfer rule using the program : RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL.........
Then that field will be available there for selection..............But do this if it is must to do the load in this way..............
