How to extend field ANLA-XAFABCH in BAPI_FIXEDASSET_CREATE?

Hi,
I am creating an Fixed Assets upload program using BAPI.
In transaction AS01, under tab Origin there is a checkbox "Purchased Used". If checked, this gets updated in ANLA-XAFABCH.
In the BAPI BAPI_FIXEDASSET_CREATE, this field does not exist.
Following is the documentation for the table EXTENSIONIN which exists in the interface of the BAPI.
Customer Enhancements
Description
Using this parameter you can transfer user fields from the asset master record. However, it is not possible to transfer fields that are updated in user-defined tables. Only user fields that were defined using SAP enhancement AIST0002 and are automatically updated in table ANLU can be udpated in this way. This means you have to use table extension BAPI_TE_ANLU.
Enhancement AIST0002 contains function module EXIT_SAPL1022_001 as a component in which user fields can be implemented.
The documentation ( BAPIPAREX) of the structure that forms the basis for this parameter contains additional information about using this parameter.

I can not find BTE RWBAPI01 in my system. Can you suggest what should i do?
I tried using BTE 00001120. here I populated T_BKPF-XBLNR_ALT with desired value but after complete execution BKPF-XBLNR_ALT is still empty.

I tried in extension definition but check box to make it required is disabled and I am unable to find other way to do it.

This could be achieved using Page Customization.Go to Setup-> User Interface-> Page Customization, open master agreement object (create new with UI ID:contracts.contract.ui.buyside.default if doesn't exist ) and add a new customization for extended field with Property set to Required.

How to extend an address of a BP with more fields ???? EEWB??

Hi Gurus,
I need to extend the address of a BP with some customer fields. I have tried to do it using EEWB but when you have to choose a Business Object for the new extension, the reasonable only possibility is to choose BUPA Object. Thus, the DB table BUT000 is extended with a custom include that contains the customer fields, but what I want to do is extending ADRC DB table. There is some way that I do not know of achieve this in which the system creates automatically all the FM for the BDT events????
If it is not possible, which would be the procedure to do that with my own development???

Hi Swastik,
Your requirement is very much possible by Page Customization.
In Page Customization when you add the field for Hidden = yes
there are more attributes : Dimension Field , Dimension Field Type, Dimension Value
In this put
Dimension Field = DISPLAY_NAME
Dimension Field Type = Object Referance
Dimension Value = click search help to select your template.
Create this for each and every Template you reqiure to Hide the field.

How to get the extended field of an Extented Standard BO in Std Byd reports

Requirement :
Reflecting an extented field in of an extented BO in all the reports using this BO, or datasource based of this BO.
Explanation :
Suppose I have extented "customer" BO in my solution. the extention field is named as 'customer-ext1 ' having datatype 'text' (say).
Now I need to show this extented field 'customer-ext1' in all the Std Byd reports using / based on the customer BO.
Is this possible thru Byd Studio ( vers 3.0 / 2.6 ) ?
Can anyone help me out on this ?
I have found a statement from some where that -
" A key user can add an extension field to a data source that is based on the same business context as the extension field. This field can be then added to any reports based on the data source. This needs only key user adaptation."
I did not get the higlighted text in the above statement , can anyone help me figure this out ?

See as a test purpose,
I have extended "CustomerInvoice BO " with element "Extension1 " with datatype as test;
Now The solution's Key User is enabled.
I guess the Key user is my technical ID right , with which I enabled the Key user of my solution ? or is the Id which had created the solution ?
Post this, when I loggin to the system from web browzer, then go to adapt mode, a yellow bar strip named "Adaption Mode " appears..
Now what to do ?

Passing Changed extended fields using ALE-IDOC to receiving system

Hi all,
Please tell me how passing changed extended fields using ALE-IDOC to receiving system can be achieved. Is it possible by Chnage pointer concept.Do i need to do some coading after data enters into receiving system as it is required while creating the entries in database table.
For ex. in matmas05 extended for classification and inspection view and then created using 'CREATION'
related bapi.Do i also need to incorporate the changes by change related bapi or ir can be handled by change pointer concept.

=> Looks like you have extended standard IDOC here. so you need to find User Exit or BADI for the Push program to populate the additional fields. Yes, it is possible thru change pointers as well.

Field Symbols
Field symbols are placeholders or symbolic names for other fields. They do not physically reserve space for a field, but point to its contents. A field symbol cam point to any data object. The data object to which a field symbol points is assigned to it after it has been declared in the program.
Whenever you address a field symbol in a program, you are addressing the field that is assigned to the field symbol. After successful assignment, there is no difference in ABAP whether you reference the field symbol or the field itself. You must assign a field to each field symbol before you can address the latter in programs.
Field symbols are similar to dereferenced pointers in C (that is, pointers to which the content operator * is applied). However, the only real equivalent of pointers in ABAP, that is, variables that contain a memory address (reference) and that can be used without the contents operator, are reference variables in ABAP Objects.
All operations programmed with field symbols are applied to the field assigned to it. For example, a MOVE statement between two field symbols moves the contents of the field assigned to the first field symbol to the field assigned to the second field symbol. The field symbols themselves point to the same fields after the MOVE statement as they did before.
You can create field symbols either without or with type specifications. If you do not specify a type, the field symbol inherits all of the technical attributes of the field assigned to it. If you do specify a type, the system checks the compatibility of the field symbol and the field you are assigning to it during the ASSIGN statement.
Field symbols provide greater flexibility when you address data objects:
If you want to process sections of fields, you can specify the offset and length of the field dynamically.
You can assign one field symbol to another, which allows you to address parts of fields.
Assignments to field symbols may extend beyond field boundaries. This allows you to address regular sequences of fields in memory efficiently.
You can also force a field symbol to take different technical attributes from those of the field assigned to it.
The flexibility of field symbols provides elegant solutions to certain problems. On the other hand, it does mean that errors can easily occur. Since fields are not assigned to field symbols until runtime, the effectiveness of syntax and security checks is very limited for operations involving field symbols. This can lead to runtime errors or incorrect data assignments.
While runtime errors indicate an obvious problem, incorrect data assignments are dangerous because they can be very difficult to detect. For this reason, you should only use field symbols if you cannot achieve the same result using other ABAP statements.
For example, you may want to process part of a string where the offset and length depend on the contents of the field. You could use field symbols in this case. However, since the MOVE statement also supports variable offset and length specifications, you should use it instead. The MOVE statement (with your own auxiliary variables if required) is much safer than using field symbols, since it cannot address memory beyond the boundary of a field. However, field symbols may improve performance in some cases.

Effect
Assigns any (internal) field string or structure to the field symbol from the ABAP Dictionary (s). All fields of the structure can be addressed by name: <fs>-fieldname. The structured field symbol points initially to the work area wa specified after DEFAULT.
The work area wa must be at least as long as the structure s. If s contains fields of the type I or F, wa should have the structure s or at least begin in that way, since otherwise alignment problems may occur.

My legacy business partner id is 13 digits long. But SAP business partner is only 10 digits long at maximum.

Hi Giang,
Unfortunately, this is not possible - you cannot extend the length of BP number.
But there's a simpler way - there is a field called BPEXT in BUT000, this is the external BP number, and can store 20 digits.
You can transfer the BP number of legacy system into BPEXT field on the SAP system. This is a standard practice and is used by most people.

after entering the article code in mm43 go to Sales Org. field and press F4, in the popup you will see a column 'Maint.' , X should be marked in front of your new sales org,dist channel combination.

Anil,
There are several different approaches for extending search options in IC WebClient.
1. In some cases it is enough to add fields in account search view and implement some additional filtering of search results according to these custom parameters in view controller implementation class.
The most simpliest and quickest way is the following:
- create additional attributes in search view controller class
- create new fields in search view with assigning their values to class attributes
- implement additional filtering of BOL objects collection which is returned by search object (query service) in controller class method (EH_ONSEARCH for example)
2. The most hardest way (but more beautifull and professional) is creating custom BOL object model. It will contain seach object with extended field structure to include your custom parameters. Also you will need to implement your custom search logic (taking into account additional parameters) in methods of GENIL layer implementation classes.
This approach is a little bit complicated and it is difficult for me to describe it in several words. Maybe the first variant already satisfies your requirements?

Let's illustrate yourrequirement with an example as under:
Say there is one sales organizaion - 1000, 2 distibtion channel - (10 & 20) & 1 division (10). With this combination I have 2 Sales Area: 1000/10/10 &1000/20/20. Say we have Company Code 1000.
Material Master:
Material Master can be extended to a combination of Sales Organization & Distribution Channel. Material cannot be extended to Division, as material forms apart of the Division. Suppose, I have alreadey created Material XXXXX for combination of Sales Org. 1000 & Distribution Channel 10. Now I have an requirement of material in combination Sales Org. 1000 & Distribution Channel 20.
Through Transaction Code MM01, we can extend an material. In Transaction Code MM01 enter material as XXXXX & reference Material as XXXXX & enter. Most of the fields will be copied from Material Master maintained earlier. Now Maintain & modifiy relevant fields & save the Material. Material Master is extended.
Customer Master:
Cuatomer Master can be extended to a combination of Sales Organization, Distribution Channel & Division. Suppose, I have alreadey created Customer XXXXX for combination of Sales Org. 1000, Distribution Channel 10 & Division 10. Now I have an requirement of material in combination Sales Org. 1000, Distribution Channel 20 & Division 10. Through Transaction Code XD01, we can extend an material. In Transaction Code XD01, Select Account Group, say Sold to Party (0001), enter Customer as XXXXX, Company Code 1000, Sales Organization 1000, Distribution Channel 10, Division 10 & in reference enter Customer as XXXXX, Company Code 1000, Sales Organization 1000, Distribution Channel 20, Division 10 . Most of the fields will be copied from Customer Master maintained earlier. Now Maintain & modifiy relevant fields & save the Customer Master. Customer Master is extended.
