How to fetch KM folder owner by java API in JSPDynpage

Hi All,
we have an application accessing KM folders using KM APIs, using some of them we could get folder name created bye, modified by etc.
but to fetch the owner of the folder (specified in the properties-->mislenous) we couldn't fined any method.
can somebody help us to retrieve folder owner(s) list with some API / code.
Thanks in advance,
Sai

Hi Yogalakshmi,
I tried your below code, at all times the ACLmanager is always null.
so when, even the inherited ACL is null I am creating acl with the same resource.
at this time I am getting object for owners but its displaying ice_service instead of my user ID.
what this ice_service, how to get the actual owners.. below is my code..
public void getOwnersList(String folderID){
            try{
                  IUser user = WPUMFactory.getServiceUserFactory().getServiceUser("cmadmin_service");
                  IResourceContext rc = new ResourceContext(user);
                  RID rid = new RID(folderID); // here could not get .getRID() method...
                  IResource groupFolder = ResourceFactory.getInstance().getResource(rid, rc);
                  ISecurityManager sm = groupFolder.getRepositoryManager().getSecurityManager(groupFolder);
                  IAclSecurityManager asm = (IAclSecurityManager)sm;
                  IResourceAclManager ram = asm.getAclManager();
                  IResourceAcl ra =  ram.getAcl(groupFolder);
                  if(ra==null) {
                      ra = ram.getInheritedAcl(resource);
                      if(ra==null)
                             ram.createAcl(groupFolder);
                            IUMPrincipalList pal = ra.getOwners();
                            IUMPrincipalListIterator it = pal.iterator();
                            while(it.hasNext()){
                                     IUMPrincipal pl = it.next();
                                     response.write("<br> pl.getDisplayName()"+pl.getDisplayName());
                                    response.write("<br> pl.getDisplayId()"+pl.getDisplayId());
            catch(Exception ex){
                  response.write("Exception ="+ex.getMessage());
            return null;

    Hi Suresh,
    You can have the MDM JAVA API javadocs from the link
    http://help.sap.com/javadocs/MDM/SP06P2/index.html
    There you can see a package named com.sap.mdm.examples.The classes in it contains some examples using which you can start understanding the code.
    You need to have MDM JAR files for it. And these JAR files to be used at build time can be added to the project thru :-
    Right click on project-> properties->Java Build Path - > Add external JARs
    At run time you can add them the reference in
    Right click on project-> properties->web dynpro references->library reference.

  • How do I resolve connection error with Java API listener?

    I have created a listener using the new Java API (see How do I implement a listener using new MDM Java API? for background). When I run it, I get this error message
    Mar 19, 2008 3:57:58 PM com.sap.mdm.internal.net.ConnectionImpl finalize
    INFO: Disconnect was not called. Cleaning up connection in finalize.
    This message is triggered whenever I generate a data event that I would otherwise expect to be captured and handled by the listener. I have tried a number of things, including setting the connection to NO_TIMEOUT and trying SimpleConnection versus ConnectionPool, but always with the same result.
    Here is some sample code for the listener:
    public class DataListenerImpl implements DataListener {
         public void recordAdded(RecordEvent evt) {
              System.out.println("===> Record Added Event");
              System.out.println(evt.getServerName());
         public void recordCheckedIn(RecordEvent evt) {
              System.out.println("===> Record Checked In Event");
              System.out.println(evt.getServerName());
         public void recordCheckedOut(RecordEvent evt) {
              System.out.println("===> Record Checked Out Event");
              System.out.println(evt.getServerName());
         public void recordModified(RecordEvent evt) {
              System.out.println("===> Record Modified Event");
              System.out.println(evt.getServerName());
    And here is the code for the Event Dispatcher:
    public void execute(Repository repository) {
         DataListener listener = new DataListenerImpl();
         try {
              EventDispatcherManager edm = EventDispatcherManager.getInstance();
              EventDispatcher ed = edm.getEventDispatcher(repository.getServer().getName());
              ed.addListener(listener);
              ed.registerDataNotifications(SystemProperties.getUserName(), SystemProperties.getPassword(),
                        repository.getIdentifier(), repository.getLoginRegion());
              ed.registerRepositoryNotifications(SystemProperties.getUserName(), SystemProperties.getPassword(),
                        repository.getIdentifier());
              ed.registerGlobalNotifications();
              while (true) {
                   Thread.yield();
                   try {
                        Thread.sleep(1500);
                   } catch (InterruptedException ex) {
                        System.out.println("Interrupted Exception: " + ex.getMessage());
         } catch (ConnectionException e) {
              e.printStackTrace();
         } catch (CommandException e) {
              e.printStackTrace();
    Has anyone else encountered this message? Could it be related to a TCP configuration on the server? Or is this a bug in the Java API?
    As I mentioned in the forum posting linked to above, I have not encountered this problem with the MDM4J API.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I resolved it. We are switching over to SP6, Patch 1 and the listener code works fine with this version of the Java API.
    Just one thing to note, though: make sure that you register data notifications through MetadataManager in your initialization code:
    metadataManager.registerDataNotifications(userSessionContext, repositoryPassword);
    For information on the changes to the SP6 Java API, especially with regard to connecting to MDM with the UserSessionContext, please review Richard LeBlanc's [presentation|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20073a91-3e8b-2a10-52ae-e1b4a10add1c].

    1. Dictionary

  • How to initialize a replica by using Java API?

    Hi, I used to initialize a replica by adding the attribute nsDS5BeginReplicaRefresh=start to the replica agreement and it works fine by using the ldapmodify commandline utility. Now I am trying to use the Java API to do the same, but I always get the Object class violation error. And I noticed that when I use the Java API to create the replica, it has the different attributes than the one created by the commandline utility. The former has the serializedJavaData and javaClass, ... And I can't find any documentation on this issue. It's really frustrating! I am wondering if the replica agreement has different attribute for initializing? If so, why it's never documented?
    I badly need your help!!!

  • How to populate boolean fields using MDM Java API's

    Hi Experts!
    I am trying to populate Boolean fields in main table of my repository using MDM JAVA API SP 05 patch 2.
    Problem is i am geting syntax error for any value that i try to put in.
    Please provide me sample code for the purpose.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    Here is the code snippet to populate boolean values from Main Table in the Repository:
    Populating boolean values from Main Table in the Repository:
    wdContext.currentNodeElement().setABC(Boolean.valueOf((strABC).toString()).booleanValue());
    Putting boolean values in the main table:
    Record objEmptyRecord = RecordFactory.createEmptyRecord(new TableId(strTableId));
    boolean bFieldValue = ((Boolean)strABC).booleanValue();
    objEmptyRecord.setFieldValue(new FieldId(strFieldId),new
    BooleanValue(bFieldValue));

  • How to fetch the BCC address using java mail

    Hi,
    I want to extract the mail address given in the Bcc address field of an email which I fetch it from the IMAP store !!
    I will be very much thankful if this problem is solved !!
    Thanks!!

    You can read the Bcc addresses just like the To and Cc addresses. But.... Note that Bcc addresses
    won't be present in any message you receive; if you could see the Bcc addresses it wouldn't be a
    blind carbon copy. If you create a message with Bcc addresses and save that message in your
    "Sent Items" folder, you'll be able to read the Bcc addresses in that message.

  • How to use a variable where some Java API expects an integer value ???

    Hi all,
    This may not be a proper forum to submit this query but since its a Java related problem & there are many experience people, I hope I can get some good hint and advice to solve this problem.
    I have to pass an integer value to a SPARQL query. I am using Allegrograpg API for Java application. But I am receiving the value in a variable and query accepts it as an integer. How can this kind of problem be solved. I put query under so you can see it.
    " SELECT DISTINCT ?Pattern ?Model WHERE" +
    "{ ?class rdfs:subClassOf [ owl:onProperty :locationID; " +
    " owl:hasValue \"1000\"^^xsd:int ]."+........
    The query expects an integer as has value.
    My apology again for posting it here but since its a Java releted problem, I hope some body can give me some good advice.....

    Ahhh, I don't think it is so terrible, it just depends where from is coming the variable that you are interpolating.
    The main reason for using PreparedStatement is efficiency. If you want to be safe from SQL injection you just have to do a simple REGEX substitution over the SQL string.

  • How to fetch message comments using JMA API?

    Hi All,
    From telnet <host> 143, and tring get comments associated with a message works well as shown below.
    2 fetch 8 COMMENT ("/message/vendor/ms/follow-up-flag-status" ("value.shared"))
    * 8 FETCH (COMMENT ("/message/vendor/ms/follow-up-flag-status" ("value.shared" "completed")))
    How to fetch the same details using Java Mail API. I couldn't get any of these flags when added to FetchProfile before fetching. The last option is using IMAPFolder.ProtocolCommand.
    Please suggest if there is a better way to fetch message meta data as "comment" using JMA
    Regards,
    Venkat

    I don't know what JMA is. I assume you meant JavaMail.
    Sorry, there's no direct support for fetching that data.
    You might be able to get this to work using IMAPFolder.ProtocolCommand.

  • 11G: Error invoking adf-binding service in composite with JAVA API

    Hello,
    i'm trying to invoke a asyncrhonous composite via JAVA API. My composite has two services: WS and ADF-BC SERVICE both of two are wired with a MEDIATOR that connects with two BPEL Process depending on two rules.
    I need to invoke a process depending of the input: if the input is A i invoke the process 1 and if the input is B I invoke the process 2. I use the Mediator instead of switch because it's an example in order to build a complex decission system then.
    R1 and R2 are two static rules in the Mediator.
    R1 = $in.payload/client:process/client:tiposiniestro = 'A'
    R2 = $in.payload/client:process/client:tiposiniestro = 'B'
    And my XSD is:
    <schema attributeFormDefault="unqualified"
         elementFormDefault="qualified"
         targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/POC_jws/ProcesoApertura/ProcesoApertura"
         xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <element name="process">
              <complexType>

                        <element name="tiposiniestro" type="string"/>
                   </sequence>

                   </sequence>
              </complexType>
         </element>
    </schema>
    If i invoke with SOAP, sending the message:
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
         <soap:Body xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/POC_jws/ProcesoApertura/ProcesoApertura">
              <ns1:process>
                   <ns1:tiposiniestro>A</ns1:tiposiniestro>
    </ns1:process>
    </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    the composite works. But if i try to invoke with JAVA, with the code:
    String payload5 = "<process xmlns=\"http://xmlns.oracle.com/POC_jws/ProcesoApertura/ProcesoApertura\">" +
         "     <tiposiniestro>A</tiposiniestro>" +
         "</process>";
    String conversationId = UUID.randomUUID().toString();
    NormalizedMessage nm = new NormalizedMessageImpl();
    nm.addProperty(NormalizedMessage.PROPERTY_CONVERSATION_ID, conversationId);
    Map<String,Object> payload = nm.getPayload();
    payload.put("payload", pPayLoad);
    nm.setPayload(payload);
    service.post(pOperation, nm);
    i get the following error:
    Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.String cannot be cast to org.w3c.dom.Element
    How can I send the message via JAVA API using the mediator in my composite?
    Is there any important difference in the format between send a request with SOAP or JAVA?
    Thanks in advance.

    Talking about the dynamic rules in the Mediator, Oracle documentation says:
    "As of now, only SOAP bindings are supported. There is a dummy SOAP binding in the composite.xml file. This endpoint is overridden by Mediator in runtime through NM property. So, outbound services can be called only over SOAP."
    Is it valid for static rules as well? I means, how can i use Java API to invoke a Composite with a Mediator as first element? I always get the message:
    +"java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.String cannot be cast to org.w3c.dom.Element"+
    Thanks again
