How to fit multiple guassian peaks ?
Hi,
I have a two column data set (x,y) that contain large number of Gaussian peaks ( several hundredes infact). You can think of it more like a wavelength spectrum. The number of spectral peaks is not known exactly. There is no problem in detecting the peaks as they are of same amplitude. Eventually I want to fit a Gaussian funtion to each of these spectral peak and obtain the the parameters such as amplitude, line-center and sigma. This seems a somewhat tricky in LabVIEW. There is an example ( Sum of 3 Gaussian with offset) that comes bundled with LabVIEW. This example VI however uses a static refrence to a model function which is sum of three gaussian curves. This works well for few number of peaks in the data. If we have large number of peaks ( e.g spectroscopy data) then creating such a model function for a large number of peaks is nealy impractical. Is there a better way to handle such peak-fitting problems in LabVIEW? Would greatly appreciate if someone could point out any existing LV code/library function.

RK

Multiple gaussian peak fitting
I have LabVIEW 7.5 How do I fit multiple gaussian peak (amplitude) with Labview. Is there a package to do this or do I have to start from scratch.
ThanksI don't think there is a LabVIEW 7.5.
Fitting multiple peaks is necessarily ambiguous because there will always be multiple solutions (e.g. swap all parameters of two peaks and you'get an equally good fit). It will be important to have good initial guesses.
An amplitude alone does not define a gaussian peak, each peak also has a position and width so you'll have to fit three parameters per peak. Is the number of peaks fixed or can it be variable? Do all have the same width?
The nonlinear fitting VIs have been extensively revised with LabVIEW 8.0. Doing the same in LabVIEW 7.x would involve quite a bit more work. LAbVIEW 8.0+ even includes an example that demonstrates fitting a function that is the sum of three gaussian peaks plus an offset. That example would be a good starting point for you.

Fitting multiple peaks under a curve?
Hello all,
I've recently come back to LV (after using it for hardware control) and am now using it for data manipulation. Basically I'd like some pointers regarding fitting.
The set-up I'm using collects scans every 20s for hours on end, generating tons of data. I can fit multiple Lorentzian curves under the peaks (see attached for typical data file and screen shot of fitting) using Origin manually but obviously if I could automate this and implement it in real time as the scans are acquired I will be saving a great deal of time and effort..
The positions of the peaks are unlikely to change (much) but the heights and widths may do.. will this cause a problem? Im very interested in following the change in the area of the third peak (as you see it on the screen shot) as time passes...
Finally I'm fairly familar with 8.2 but have been tasked with having a look at 2009 (which i currently have an evaluation version of), the main deciding factor in us upgrading is the new 'constrained' Lv fitting Vi, can anyone explain what the difference is and would it help in what I'm trying to do?
Any thoughts and ideas are much appreciated,
Kind reagrds,
David.

I can see how to get the curve fitting but how do you then apply the guassian fits to the peak locations? I'm struggling to achieve this using the fitting vis?

How to print multiple copies on one page ?
How to print multiple copies of one document on one page ?
in coreldraw I used to make the document -for example a business card 5x9 - and when sending to print it automatically placed the number of cards that would fit in my A4 sheet.
how do I make the same operation in Indesign.
thanksHi, Peter S.
>I can see that as a shortcut to printing a page of different cards for multiple people, but to do a simple n-up of a single card it seems overly complex to me. What am I missing?
* It's just an alternative to copy/paste and step/repeat.
* For a one-time only use, perhaps it's a little more complex than necessary. But for any future needs, only the content of the data file needs to be changed, either by editing, or by pointing to a new data file. If different cards for multiple people becomes necessary, it's ready to go.

HT201300 how activation display multiples in macbook pro 13
how activation arrange multiple display
Hi pattyufita,
Depending on what model of MacBook Pro you have, you will need the correct adapter for its video out port. Also, the other end of the adapter would need to fit whatever video in port your TV has. So for example the most recent MacBook Pro has Thunderbolt for video out and your TV might use HDMI video. See the specifications on this page for the MacBook Pro -
Apple - MacBook Pro with Retina display - Technical Specifications
http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs-retina/
Of course you will need to find the specifications for your own model of MacBook Pro. You can find out which model you have by going to the Apple menu and selecting About this Mac and clicking the More Info button.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Please can someone help, I have a question in my coursework that I don't know the answer to! Explain how PostScript fits into the design process?
The simple answer is that today PostScript really doesn't fit at all into the Graphic Design process, at least in terms of what the graphic designer needs to know.
Historically, though, the PostScript imaging model, first introduced circa 1984 provided the basis for the initial publishing software including PageMaker, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, and even Ventura Publisher. This imaging model included support for continuously scalable text, vector, and raster imagery as well as the concepts of a current transformation matrix that allowed arbitrary scaling, rotation, etc. and multiple color spaces (grayscale, RGB, CMYK, spot, device independent, and color-managed).
The PostScript imaging model was effectively replaced by the PDF imaging model, a significant superset of the PostScript imaging model, by the time Illustrator 9 and InDesign 2 were released in terms of support of ICC color management, transparency, etc.
The fact is that a good graphic designed doesn't need to know anything about PostScript or PDF per sé, but rather about the basics of color (such as issues associated with color gamut and what how that affects display and printing), use of text versus vector versus raster images and why one should keep content at the highest level of abstraction all the way to the rendering (or screen) or RIP process for printing. Some knowledge of typography also helps.

How to store multiple files from SAp in to Application server?
Hi Guys,
Can anybody tell me how to store multiple files from SAP into Application server.in my application i have to get the data from SAP tables BSEG , BKPF , BSAK and BSIK that to daily i have to do.
Any Logic or Code for how to do is welcomed.
plz help me urgently.
Thanks,
GopiHi,
directories creates basis. If you have task to store data in application server you already should have information into which folder you have to do it. If you don't have this information because it is just for example training for next task then you can use your personal folder into which you have access. To get list of all available folders please look at attached code and form get_directories (you get the list of folders you see in transaction AL11). But don't forget: If you are using open dataset you have to have rights to access application folder!
Here you are code which I use to upload text files from local disc into application folder

How to have multiple windows of same app under JSF 1.1
I know this has been addressed in JSF 1.2, but does anyone have a good solution in JSF 1.1 concerning how to allow multiple application instances to be opened in different browser windows at the same time? I work for a large financial services company and we have multiple instances of the same application up when working with more than one customer or account at the same time.
Weve figured out a way to use a custom variable resolver and property resolver to provide an application instance scope that works with managed beans; however, we are struggling with how to handle the JSF component tree. We can replace the StateManager or ViewManager, but we will be running under a vendor implementation of JSF and do not want to outright replace their implementation. We wanted to simply define our own manager, decorate the viewId with additional information, and then pass it on to the default manager. The big issue is that while the restoreView methods take the viewId, the writeState methods do not. This seems like a pretty big show stopper to us. If we have to wait until JSF 1.2, it will be a long wait. Any ideas?
Thanks. The way I'm thinking of doing this is to use nested beans. So for example, I'd have an "AccountBean" written as a JSF managed bean, but this is not what I'd declare in faces-config. Instead, I'd have an "AccountMgr":
<managed-bean>
<managed-bean-name>acctMgr</managed-bean-name>
<managed-bean-class>AccountManager</managed-bean-class>
</managed-bean>AccountManager would have a map of AccountBean objects. In my pages, I'd reference the acctMgr:
#{acctMgr.accts[acctEditor.acctId].firstName}If anyone has a better idea, I'd love to hear about it. -
How to keep multiple function modules under one Web service
Hi Experts,
I have Three RFC function modules and i need to create one web service for these three RFC function modules. I know How to crearte a web service for one function module.
please suggest me How to keep multiple function modules under one Web service.
Thanks in advance
LakshminarayanaHi Lakshmi,
The best way to do it is to assign all the three RFC Enabled FM's to one function group. Later on the top menu in Utilities you get an option to Create a Webservice from a Function Group.
You can create one single Webservice using all the the 3 FM's.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Manu
