How to generate GPS signal continuous

Hi,
I encountered a problem recently and I need your help. A customer used a PXI-5671 to generate GPS signals to test a receiver. The problem was like this:
1) When we used actual GPS signals instead of simulated signals generated from the PXI-5671, the receiver functioned normally.
2) When we streamed bin file to generate signals repeatedly using the PXI-5671, the receiver could receive correctly for the first time, while at the rest of it the receiver couldn't receive the signals nor display how many satellites there were and what the signal strengths were.
I supposed, that this was due to the reason that the timestamp for the second time was earlier than that at previous time. How do we generate GPS signals continuously with the timestamps updated?

Hi,
When you stram from a bin file repeatedly, it will run first time but will lose lock because when it comes tothe beginning of the file, its time suddenly jumps and the receiver does not accept this. For example, lets say your bin file is from GPS time t1=0 to GPS time t2=30000s. When you loop back around the file, the time increases from 0 to 30000 and then jumps back to 0 and that is not acceptable by receiver. You will need a direct streaming from 5671.
I can put that up for you soon if you want.

  • How to generate PSK signal via IFRIO

Hi, i want to ask is anybody know how to generated PSK signal via IFRIO.
I already generate PSK signal and analyse it using modulation tool kits but how to configure IFRIO to make it send out this signal?
    PSK signal detail:
    BPSK with symbol rate 4000bps
    modulated by 16KHz carrier.
    Thanks.

    Hi
precisely i have no idea what is the sampling rate of the signal. I just want to generate the signal with constant amplitude based on the actual sampled signal. is it possible to achieve?.

  • How to generate a signal like this on PCI-6202 DAQ card

I want to generate a signal like the one in the attached picture.
    Which have inputs like
    1. Frequency
    2.Duty cycle
    3. No of pulses
I have created a file which gives the signal like the other one in the end which has frequency of 200us and duty cycle of 0.5% that is 1us On and 199us signal off. Now i need to include some sort of condition that when the button is pressed then the signal of the require frequency, duty cycle and no of pulses is created as input by the user on the front panel, like the one which are first part of the signals in the picture below.

  • Navigation that works for a8-5500 and how to fix GPS signal

Found out that these navigation systems works fine with at 5500-f tablet:
    Navigon.
    Route 66.
    Sygic.
    iGO Primo.
If you now of others that works (TomTom, Navfree etc), please let us know
However, the A8 5500f and other tablets from lenovo seems to have a problem with the GPS fix. It takes forever to acuire a decent signal. There is a soloution to this problem:
    A) Have WI-FI ON, if possible.
    B) Launch the navigation, eg Route 66.
    C) After some seconds, turn off WI-FI.
    D): Ready!
This procedure will allow the navigation to download the assisted GFS. But it seems like the WI-FI, when ON, is making it difficult to reciewe a clear gps signal. If no WI-FI, it will take a minute or so to reciewe a clear GPS signal without A-GPS.
There is also a third solution. Download a app that is keeping GPS alive all the time. Like ActiveGPS - GPS booster or so. This will allow you to keep WI-FI ON all the time. How much batteri that will eat up, i dont know.

  • How to generate two signals using NI myDAQ

    Dear Sir:
I designed a circuit to generate a sine wave successfully using Labview. What I want is using NI myDAQ to generate another 3V DC signal as a power supply. I can do this seperately but when I add them together there is an error:  NI Platform Services:  The specified resource is reserved. The operation could not be completed as specified.
I would like to use A01 to generate a sine wave and A02 to generate a DC wave, could you please check my file and tell me how to solve this problem. I found a solution which generates two signals together but what I need is to control these two signals seperately and using two channels.

  • HOW TO GENERATE FINITE AND CONTINUOUS PULSE TRAIN WITH USB6216 AT THE SAME TIME?

    Hello.
I am using a USB6216 DAQ and need to generate a 20 kHz signal using the
ct0 output and at the same time I need to generate a finite number of
pulses, say 9, on a software trigger using the second counter output
    ct1.
Currently, I have two VIs that can do this separately, but when I want
to integrate these into one single VI y get an error in the finite
pulse train for ct1 that indicates that the requested task is already
reserved. I am thinking this has to do with the fact that maybe both
types of task use the same timebase but I have not found the way to
    solve this problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Sincerely
    JSL

    Hello.
If anybody is interested, the problem is solved.
There is no resource confilct if I generate the 20 kHz continuous pulse
signal using the frequency out terminal, and this way I can use both of
my counters as I please with no problems.
It's kind of fun to answer one's own questions...

  • How to generate a gps signal using the PXI-5671 after generating a gps binary file using the gps toolkit

    Hi,
I am trying to test a GPS receiver and would like to use the PXI-5671 to stream a GPS binary data file which was generated using the GPS toolkit. I tried using the RFSG Arbitrary Waveform Generation.vi but it doesn't work.  Is there a sample code that will allow me to do this?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
The NI-RFSG driver certainly allows you to stream waveform files to signal generators without the use of the GPS Toolkit, as shown here. However, the NI-RFSG driver does not provide the user with out-of-box applications that can stream GPS waveforms with Almanac and Ephemeris information to various signal generators. For this reason, the NI GPS toolkit will be needed.
The only alternative is that you will gather your own Almanac and Ephemeris files and implement your own functionality using the base RFSG driver to generate and stream the GPS signals. This is something that you would need to do on your own, which could prove to be difficult, thus making the GPS toolkit the best option.
    I hope this information helps.

you need to increment the "accumulator increment" during the duration of the chirp.  the "accumulator increment" controls the frequency of the DDS cycle.  by increasing it's value, you are increasing the frequency.  the math for increment values follows the same math as determining the frequency to increment value.

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.
    Also see:

The bakup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.
If you still have the one 2G with the Netflix app, delete the new NetFlix app from her computer anf then transfer iTunes purchased to the iTunes library by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
Then sync to her iPod. You may have to sign the iPod into the account that purchased it to sync it.

  • Need Help on How to Generate Pulse Width Modulation signals

    Hi,
I am New in using NI board and programming using LabView. I have no idea on how to start to generate, use what function in order to create a PWM signals.
    My project needs:
    -PWM signals with 15kHz frequency.
    -Duty cycle varrying from 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%.
-By using the generated PWM signals to control the half-bridge (MOSFETs) of boost converter and buck converter to varying the voltage of 24V battery to feed in my DC motor.
The NI board that I use is (NI - sbRIO-9642).
Can I have a clear view on what to use, how to generate, and by using what functions to generate the PWM signals.
Sorry for the inconvienient, but I really desperate for help in this. Thanks a lot. I am appreaciate it.

    Hi Ronald,
in this thread a very similar question came up. You can use the same approach on your sbRIO.
For the frequency you gave you should use the FPGA present on the sbRIO - as is shown/discussed in that other thread! I also suggest that other thread because of the "deadtime" feature used to prevent shortcut problems when switching your MOSFETS simultanuously...

  • How to AO signal continuously

Now I can use 4461 to AO signal continuously, but the structure of the program is based on the while loop.So if I want to stop the generation,I must click the "stop" control on the front pannel. What I really want to know is if there is a method which isn't based on the while loop, thus when I run this vi, it can generate signal continuously.Because this vi isn't based on the loop, 4461 can still generate signals even though I closed this vi.And if I want to stop generation, I can run another vi to stop the generation. It will be better if there exists such a method. So I can program using TestStand. One step is signal generation, and next several steps will stop the generation.
    Thanks a lot!

I haven't found a way to do it yet. To get the hardware to run, you have to create and run a task. Unfortunately, the tasks are only 'alive' as long as the VI that ran them is running. If you took advantage of the card's memory and used regeneration, I couldn't see a reason why you needed to have a VI running to keep the output going. I ended up using a producer-consumer program structure with the AO stuff as the producer loop and the acquisition contained in a state machine consumer loop using queues to pass commands and data back and forth. It works quite well.

  • How to generate printed document with "continuous" section breaks versus "next page" section breaks?

When generating a Word or PDF document from the HTML help files a "next page" section break is used after each topic. How can I get a "continuous" section break instead?

I've been poking around a bit more. Here's the deal.
New chapters will always start on a new page and have a next or odd page break according to the Start New Chapters setting. If ticked it will be an Odd Page break, else a Next Page break.
Topics within a book will follow the Start Each Topic on a New Page setting. If ticked, each topic will be separated by a page break, not a section break. Else they will be on the same page with no breaks of any type.
Topics not within a book will be followed by a section break.
So section breaks are only created for chapters and topics not in a chapter.
Hope that helps. Please post back if you find otherwise.

  • I have a Droid Razr that loses it's GPS signal. I am unable to navigate using Google Maps. It is almost like I am missing a file. How can I fix this?

Please tell me how to get my GPS signal back on my phone. Thanks.

And they do offer a compatible version. As I am running running Netflix on my first generation iPad just fine.
You'll need to first "purchase" the non compatible version  either on a newer device that can run it or on a computer running iTunes using the Apple ID that is on the first Gen iPad.
After that is done, you should be able to go into the App Store App, and find Netflix under the Purchased Tab. Tap on it to download it and you should be warned its not compatible, but will be offered the compatible version.

  • How to generate BPSK and QPSK signals with Labview and ARBS?

Has anyone used Labview to program a Wavetek 75 or equiv Arbitrary Waveform Generator to produce BPSK and/or QPSK signals.

You can use Modulation Toolkit 2.0 for LabVIEW to generate PSK signals (including BPSK and QPSK) using common PSK configuration parameters.

You can use resampling tools present in Modulation Toolkit if you need to resample the generated data to a different sample rate for your third party AWG.
In addition, Modulation Toolkit integrates seamlessly with NI's high-speed signal sources, including the NI 5421 for PXI:
