How to generic menu roles functionality dynamically

right now i am using oracle built in menu roles, as we are not systematic the roles, every day we are adding - removing different screens form the diff users etc, it became difficult with menu roles. and Programmer presence is needed to change Menu roles very oftenly. already im having 50+ menu roles in my application, as i read in tech docs it is not advisable to increase menu roles toomany.
But i would like to wants that things as programatically.. by keeping all the menu names,usernames in tables and assign to users when ever we need manually, as it is replicating Oracle Menu roles default functionality.
is there any body can help/ advise on this issue. any work around please...

You can use the function module RS_FUNCTION_DELETE to do that.
Make sure you are not deleting any standard FM's.
Example
      call function 'RS_FUNCTION_DELETE'

The file will keep inside server.AFAIK, you have to write a custom code to achieve this and Oracle does not provide this functionality.

We are implementing GRC suite v5.2, but specifically my question is regarding Role Expert:
SAP documentation states that it is possible to use Role Expert to do the following: for roles allows you to see if, or how much, a transaction is being used, when it was last used, and who used it.
My question is how without Audit Log or RBE?
Let me know if you have ever used this functionality and if it requires the SAP Back-End Audit Log to be turned on or RBE.

Hi Gary,
You dont need a RBE tool activation to get the successful transaction usage log with Role Expert.
Role Expert functionality allows you to log all the transactions that have been added/deleted to the role that is changed. Also when you create a new role via the Role Expert then automatically the transaction log starts.
If you go the "History" tab in the Role Expert, then you can find all the last changes made to the role.
Also you can go to the "Risk Analysis" tab to find the log of Risk Analysis performed with the added tcodes.

1. Create s structure with the fields that you need from the 4 tables . Activate.
2. Goto SE 80 Select The Function Group , Copy , Select the Function module
" RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE " and Give a New name starting With

3. SE37 ->Your Function module name -> Change , In table tab give your structure
name by deleting the associated type given in " XXXX " .
4. Now select source code and Do the coding . Give Data source name in Coding .
In your case you have to take data from more that 1 table .
5. Activate the Function Group .
6. In RSO2 Create the Data source , Give the Function Module Name , And Save.
7. RSA3 -> Give data source name and Check for the Records .
Creation of custom datasource. (Using function module)
.Create a function group .
. Structure ZTXXXX
Create function module (i.e. ZTESTXXX) .
. Create the data source using transaction (RSO2).
. If structure exists for the table parameter of your function module then ok else create a structure for the table parameter .
Test the datasource in R/3 using transaction RSA3.
Transfer the data source to BW System and replicate it in the BW-System.

How to remove transaction that was added under Menu - Role Menu

We have roles that we need to remove some transactions.
These transactions were added under Menu - Role Menu and expanded for ex: Logistics and Picked Miro transaction.
When I go to PFCD and check under s_tcode I cannot remove Miro transactions since it's grayed out.
The only way to remove this is to go back to the Menu and do a find on miro and work through the menu until I get to Miro transaction and then delete it.
Is there another way to accomplish this.

This is the intended way a role built from a menu works. What might be the use of an authorization without any corresponding transaction to start it? It is only a risk...
Unless of course you know better or design differently and don't make the effort to adjust SU24, then you can insert manually or cause "changed" authorizations, but PFCG will not look at it from a "your own fault" view and not adjust it or protect it against illogical changes.
To use the discipline of the one approach but keep the flexibility of manual authorizations is not possible for S_TCODE, S_RFC and S_SERVICE objects (the entry points).

How to do parallel processing with dynamic internal table

Hi All,
I need to implement parallel processing that involves dynamically created internal tables. I tried doing so using RFC function modules (using starting new task and other such methods) but didn't get success this requires RFC enabled function modules and at the same time RFC enabled function modules do not allow generic data type (STANDARD TABLE) which is needed for passing dynamic internal tables. My exact requirement is as follows:
1. I've large chunk of data in two internal tables, one of them is formed dynamically and hence it's structure is not known at the time of coding.
2. This data has to be processed together to generate another internal table, whose structure is pre-defined. But this data processing is taking very long time as the number of records are close to a million.
3. I need to divide the dynamic internal table into (say) 1000 records each and pass to a function module and submit it to run in another task. Many such tasks will be executed in parallel.
4. The function module running in parallel can insert the processed data into a database table and the main program can access it from there.
Unfortunately, due to the limitation of not allowing generic data types in RFC, I'm unable to do this. Does anyone has any idea how to implement parallel processing using dynamic internal tables in these type of conditions.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Save new workbook in menue role with VBA / ABAP

Hello,
does anybody know of a way to save a workbook which is not stored in SAP BW by then in a menue role folder through VBA or ABAP automatically?
I know that there is the SAPBEXsaveWorkbook function in VBA but that only works if the workbook already has an ID in BW. Maybe there is some workaround to assign name and ID beforehand? Where does the BEx get the ID if the workbook already has one? Is it stored in a temporary mapping table or something? I found that there are NO very hidden sheets as long as there are no queries embedded in the workbook, and I want to save a workbook WITHOUT queries.
Also, I know that there is the saveDialogWorkbook function, but as stated above the saving process should be automatically, i.e. a function like SAPBEXsaveWorkbook(name As String, role As String, node-id As String). By the way, where would I get the node-id for the nodes in the menue role?

thanks for your update! Saving in the "root folder" of a role might already be sufficient if we don't figure out how to save in folders.
I've done some research, too, and the strange thing is that the number at the end is obviously not the folder ID. When you choose "Open -> Workbooks", then copy a workbook entry using Ctrl+C and paste it in an editor, you get more information than what is displayed in the dialog even with technical names turned on. The pasted entry includes the role name and the number you referred to. And the thing is that even two workbooks in the same folder have different numbers! When you save a workbook using 0000000000 and then look at the number assigned in the way described above, it also has an ID different from 0000000000. It seems that every workbook has its own number. So to me it's still a mistery where the folder is specified.

Build Labview Application which loads functions dynamically

I am not sure if this is possible for executables, but it works pretty well in the LabVIEW development mode.
I have a LabVIEW program which calls some functions (sub-functions) dynamically. In the develop mode, the sub-functions are in separate *.llb files. When a subfunction is selected from the menu of the main LabVEIW program, the main application searches a particular location/directory for a particular *.llb file; if the *.llb is found, it loads the vi and runs it, if not, it tells the user that the function is not available. The advantage of doing this is that I can add/remove/modify these sub-functions simply by puting in or taking out the *.llb file from that directory without causing any problem on the main program.
Would it be possible to do the same if I buid an LabVIEW executable application (I mean build/compile the main application first, and then add/remove functions by putting/removing some files in a directory)? If yes, then I can distribute new functions to users without having to re-compile the whole thing.

Hello Andrew,
When Using LOader method, there are a few things to take care of. It is not so terrible when you know what and why. Consider this If you change your executable, You have to rebuild and then you realize there was a small spelling mistake or a control was not aligned. Doing a double check is sometimes as important as good programming.
1. Path Issues - These you will have whether you build executable or release it as a library. This happens if you use relative path.
2. Use of native labview Vi's in your code - When the code changes, You want to distribute the new LLB. Well Use Save with Options and Choose "Application Distribution" Select "Entire Hierarchy", "Include Vi.lib Files" And "Runtime Menu" and "External Routines" If you want your App protected. Click Remove Diagrams. Again Make sure you don't lose your Original file if you choose this. All this saves the whole App as LLB.
Then your Loader has to call your Main Vi dynamically. How difficult is the path Issue to Call One Main Vi in a Vi Library. There is no Licensing Issue here as LV itself gives you this option.
I have used this method for a couple of 200 Vis or more Applications and constantly updated by changing the llb file without any hassle.

Please login." should I create userid and there respective roles inorder to use the CMS functionality.

1. ccd.war has 3 portlets in it:
(a) custom content definition portlet
(b) custom content portlet
(c) workflow portlet
2. Inorder to work with these portlets, user needs to be in anyone of the below roles:
(a)Consumer (b) Editor (c) Approver (d) Administrator (e) Submitter (f) Contributor (g) Publisher
3. By default ccd.war gets deployed using a default roles file (/var/opt/SUNWportal/tmp/ccd.roles.properties)
Note: In windows, you may not find this file
4. Access the portlets as a user in any of the role mentioned in the ccd.roles.properties
(OR)
you can use a new roles file which has mapping to your custom roles. For this , undeploy existing ccd.war and deploy again with a new roles.properties file
