At MangoSpring ,www.mangospring.com we are working on application which uses IMPS protocol where we always required to receive data pushed by server.
To achive this we'll have to maintain one persistent Http connection on client side, so that we can be notified whenever some data is pushed by server.

HTTP Persistent Connection - Cannot Change Timeout

On an HTTP persistent connection, the client and server both can have timeouts on a connection. In the case of a Java client, I can find no way to set the client's timeout value. It is always 5 seconds (assuming you exactly jump through the hoops necessary to get it to work at all). According to my reading of decompiled code, this will be the case unless it is a proxy connection, in which case 10 seconds will be used.
For a client-server app, the best performance occurs if the connection is truly persistent - as long as the server has resources. This means one wants to minimize or eliminate reconnections. But the Java implementation appears to always drop the connection after the 5 or 10 second limit.
Has anybody gotten around this? All of this logic and parameters are deep into sun.net classes, so I can't get at them by subclassing... and the only factories I can find to override require essentially rewriting the stuff I gain by using the URL/HttpURLConnection framework in the first place.
NOTE... because the persistent connection transparently hides the persistence, you can only tell how it is working if you have a packet monitor.

The second issue is when I try to select "Manually Manage Music"
The iPhone "My iPhone" is synced with another iTunes libary on "MY-PC". Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
So... I don't want to do that, but I do what to be able to Manage my music. I'm not sure what it means by being synced to another iTunes unless it means to an older version of itunes?
Anyone have any ideas?

I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod/iphone/ipad: File>Transfer Purchases

Yes, that is the Tetheringn or HotSpot option. Some models have this. You will have to set up your phone to do this, and your carrier will likely charge you an extra fee for the tethering service.

Try a SMC reset, please do it 2-3 times.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

      The process for creating an entry in infotype is as follows.
1.First you get the personal number lock for upating.You can use function
    module ' BAPI_EMPLOYEE_ENQUEUE ' or ENQUEUE_EMPREL.
2.Pass the records to function module ' HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION' with
   OPERATION - 'INS'.
3.Unlock the Employee by using function moule 'BAPI_EMPLOYEET_DEQUEUE'.

I m Newbie to ODI. My DataSource is Oracle 11g Database (HR Tables) and my Target is Hyperion Planning.
I successful imported Oracle DB HR tables into ODI and Hyperion Planning Dimensions Like(Employee) but i dont understand in " ODI Interface" how i am going to do Mapping between Oracle tables and Planning application Dimension, am i doing wrong way?
I am confused if i have to push Data from Oracle 10g HR Tables into Hyperion Planning am i following right approach ?

Well i have working knowledge in ODI, i did whole complete cycle and i did customization project for Oracle EBS to Data warehouse though ODI.
What, I am NOT able to figure out How to LINK Hyperion Planning Outline to Oracle EBS HR Tables. cause in Hyperion Outline i m able to view Dimensions Not particular Column to map with EBS HR Table (column).
Eample:
In EBS HR we have Employee Number in Per_all_people_f but in Hyperion Planning Dimension is ONLY Employee.

Inside your RFC you can directly use select on PA0006 & PA0655
or use FM: HR_READ_INFOTYPE
if you wan for multiple pernrs then cal the FM inside a loop or you can use the select query for multiple pernrs

HTTP persistent connection (keep Alive) problem

Hi,
I'm trying to deploy a RPC web service and I would like to use the HTTP 1.1 keep alive feature (which should be the default).
I generated the server side and client side code using jdev 903. The AS is OC4j 903.
The problem is that the server is sending a âConnection: close:â header in the SOAP response, despite the client sending a âConnection: keep-aliveâ header in the request. This is obviously causing the client to close the connection and open another for the next message.
The documentation implies that the server will always try to use persistent connections, even so, in the file:
<OC4J_HOME>/j2ee/home/config/http-web-site.xml
there is a config option âuse-keep-alivesâ. Setting this to true has no effect.
Iâm guessing there must be another option somewhere to turn on connection persistence.
Can anyone please help ?

Http persistent connection, several request-response same http connection??

-I have a problem: I need to make a sever side java application to comunicate over http/1.1 using persistent connections, in other words: A http client sends an httpRequest to my application, my application receives the request and then sends a response, the httpClient receives the response and sends a second http Request to the application, the application receives this second request over the same connection and sends a second response to the client. All these things would be made over the same connection without closing any socket.
I`m trying to made this for 3 weeks but when the server side application responses the first request, the connection closes.
Anybody can help please???

HTTP has a connection-keep alive feature. If you are using a standard api for HTTP communication and a standard HTTP server you will have this feature enabled already. But it is not good idea to depend on connection keep alive feature because HTTP is not designed to keep track of the state of session on its own.
Why do you want to have it that way?. Cant you implement same requirement using HTTP sessions/cookies

Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Checks the validity of system ID in the system object.
2. Checks if the system can be retrieved from the PCD.
3. Check whether the system object has a valid system alias
4. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object
5. Validate the following parameters: ITS protocol; ITS host name
6. Checks if the host name of the server can be resolved.
7. Checks HTTP/S connectivity to the defined back-end application
Results
1. The system ID is valid
2. The system was retrieved.
3. Retrieval of the default alias was successful
4. The system object represents an SAP system
5. The following parameters are valid: ITS Protocol (http) ITS Host Name (vrleccdv.vrpl.com:8000)
6. The host name vrleccdv.vrpl.com was resolved successfully.
7. An HTTP/S connection to http://vrleccdv.vrpl.com:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/ was not obtained successfully; this might be due to a closed port on the Firewall.
