How to get performance data out of SCOM and into a 3rd party management tool

Hi
I am creating an integration between a 3rd party management tool and System Center Operations Manager 2012 R2. I need to export performance data from SCOM into our application for both HyperV servers and virtual machines. Our application runs on
linux so I cannot do any .NET programming.
What is the best way to do this? I am aware of using the Usage SPF web service but this will not share performance data for the hyperv servers, just the virtual machines .

We can use SQL query to get SCOM data out, but about how to send those data into your application, this should be related with how you develop your application.

What is the best way to do this? I am aware of using the powershell cmdlet Get-SCOMAlert but is there any other way that does not involve polling?

Think of Orchestrator as a "router", that will route information and workflows between SCOM, and [insert 3rd party product here]. Depending on your 3rd party product, there may be an "integration pack" for it that Orchestrator can use for out of the
box tasks.
So what's an integration pack? Well - think of it like a management pack, but for Orchestrator. SCOM does monitoring, but it doesn't know how to monitor something unless you install the relevant management pack. The management pack contains
all the rules/monitors for monitoring whatever it is you wish to monitor.
Well, an integration pack is similar in concept, except it tells Orchestrator how to interface and integrate with whatever it is you're trying to perform tasks with.
For what you want to do, there is a SCOM integration pack. This is a set of tasks that can get alerts and events out of Operations Manager (there are also tasks that can create and close alerts in Operations Manager).
From what I can imagine - you would want to get alerts out of SCOM when they happen (so you would use one of the SCOM orchestrator tasks to "get alert if status = new, and source = myapplication"), and then you can pass that alert to another task - such
as write it to a CSV file or something. You could then have another task that picks up that CSV file, and passes it to your application where it can be captured. Or you could use the CSV to populate variables in a powershell script, and then powershell
that information into your app.
There are many ways you could do this, but I do believe that Orchestrator would be the better option.

how to get values/data stored in the database into a list-item.
i tried to make a list item without any values assigned to it...but i got the below error.
FRM-30191: No list items defined for required poplist.
or
FRM-32082: Invalid value for given item type.

then according to some docs, i tried the the following for the trigger

for list items you need to values in the record group, one is the shown value and one is the returned value.
Check out the online help for the populate_list built-in.
You'll need something like select ename,ename from emp as the record group query.

Hi, everybody. I know how to use sar, ps, iostat, vmstat to get system activity data. But I wish to get these data in a program. I can't find API or other mechanims. Please help me. Thanks in advance.

Many of the measurements collected by sadc/sar and the various *stat tools are derived from the kernel statistics (kstat) facility. There are C and Perl APIs for accessing kstat data: libkstat(3LIB) describes the entry points for the C interface, while /usr/bin/kstat (a.k.a. kstat(1)) is an illustration of how to use the Perl interface. Of course, you can use kstat(1) directly for shell programming contexts.
I don't believe that Sun provides a supported Java class for accessing the kstat data. There was an SDC note written on this topic in August 2001, I believe.

Problems getting data out of Mocha and into After Effects

Hi. I'm using After Effect CS4. I brought a video clip into Mocha and tracked it. I've tried copying the data to clipboard and also went back and saved as a text file since I could't paste into After Effects.
Haven't figured out how to make either method work.
At first, I'd created a Null Object in AFX and added the COrner Pin Effect, but the paste option is greyed out - doesn't matter if I select the layer or the Corner Pin effect.
Next I created a solid since I'd seen that mentioned on some threads, but Paste is still greyed out.
Tried exporting the tracking data as a file from mocha next and have the corner pin data sitting on my desktop as a txt file - but still not sure how to get that into After Effects CS4 - tried this with a null and a solid, but not working.

Yes, AE's corner pin does the same. It's how it is supposed to work. You need to choose the RG Warp compliant variant to only get corner pin data. The rest is too vague. Wee need exact info on what you are doing. Tracks appearing to be static is simply an issue where coordinates are introduced twice and somehow self-compensate, which for all intents and purposes could relate to the previously described issue....

I used to see a monthly "Feb 2014" photo stream category in my library for each month. Now all of my photo stream photos (from my iPhone) are under "iCloud" under "Sharing" and I don't know how to get my pix out of there and separate them into libraries

My computer has changed how it accepts photos from my phone. They used to post into a library by the month and year, e.g., "Feb 2014 photo stream," but now all of the photos from my phone for the past year or so are lumped together into the "Shared" section under "photo stream." I did not put them there (that I know of) and now don't know how to get them out and into a library where I can categorize them.

The monthly events "Feb2014" will show you all photos that have been imported from "My Photo STream", if you have enabled "Automatic Import" in the "Preferences > iCloud" tab.
The albums you are seeing under "iCloud" are the "Shared Photo Streams" and "My Photo Stream". To import from your "Shared Streams" drag the photos frommthe Shared Streams album to the Projects in the library panel.

By using month like 'Jul' and year like 2007 i want to get full date like 01/06/2007(format).Please give me query for this?My fields for month and year are respectively vr_mnth(varchar) and in_year(number)

i used to_date function but it accepts only one string .if i give like this
to_date(vr_mnth,in_year,'dd/mm/yy') it will gives me syntax error.
If i give like this vr_mtnh='Jan'
to_date(vr_mtnh,'Mon') it will give output
01/01/2008 it shows me current year
if i choose from table wich is strored with month-'Jul' and year=2006 it shows me
01/07/2008 only .It doesn't shows me that 2006 year
If i give in_year in to_date it gives me that currect year.
Ex:to_date(in_year,'YY')..............>01/01/2006
Individually to_date function works fine but i want to club both to get accurate date format of specified month and year.Is there any function for that in sql to get 01/07/2006?

When you get an error with external tables (or sql*loader) look in the same folder as the data file and you should get a .log file and maybe a .bad file too.
The log file should indicate the nature of the error it has trying to load the data.

How to get the alert context from scom event into incident description?

I user SCO for creating incidents of SCOM events. My problem ist that in some events the most interesting information is standing in AlertContext. But I cannot add this text to the descritipn field of our incident tool. If I user the published variable Context
from MonitorAlert the creating of the incident fails. The right information is standing in the Params field of the Context content. But if I add the Params variable from MonitorAlert there is not the content given.
So how can I add the AlertContext information in my incident content?

I use the Publish Data Context from "Get Alert" and the xpath-Query below to get the short name of the service if Alert is "Windows service stopped".
I think it's difficult to have a default Query because the Context is too various fot all OpsMgr Alerts.

How to get the dates a user has logged into the portal??

I need to know all the times and the dates a user has loggin to the portal? Do you know any way to do this? I was trying to use "successfullogoncount" from UME_STRING of the PCD database but it doesn't say anything about the dates. I also try to use "lastsuccessfulllogon" from the sama table but, as the name says, it just give me the last date of logon... Please help!!!

probably you could work with Portal activity reports.
This can generate reports on activity in the portal, either reports on how many users were logged on to the portal or reports on the most popular pages and iViews.

From this you can know which user has logged on at which date and time.
If you are not looking for Portal activity reports try this:
You can get this information in the Visual Administrator of the J2EE Engine.
Goto Security Provider Service -> Runtime -> Login (Sessions).
This would return a table showing the users along with the logging in start date&time, (if logged out) log out date&time, user-Ids, etc.

How to get the data from one table and insert into another table

Hi,
We have requirement to build OA page with the data needs to be populated from one table and on save data into another table.
For the above requirement what the best way to implement in OAF.
I understand that if we attach VO object instance to region/page, we only can pull and put data in to only one table.

You can achieve this in many different ways, one is
1. Create another VO based on the EO which is based on the dest table.
2. At save, copy the contents of the source VO into the dest VO (see copy routine in dev guide).
3. commiting the transaction will push the data into the dest table on which the dest VO is based.
I understand that if we attach VO object instance to region/page, we only can pull and put data in to only one table.
if by table you mean a DB table, then no, you can have a VO based on multiple EOs which will do DMLs accordingly.Thanks
