How to handle leap in exit variable

Hello Experts,
I have a Customer exit variable which displays data for previous year of input date. When i am entering 02/28/2005 as input then the variable displays data only till 02/28/2004 but 2004 is a leap year and it has 29 days so my 29th day data is missing.
This continues for 2001,2005,2007,2013,2017 since these years come after leap year(2000,2004,2008,2012,2016 are leap years). Need expert suggestions

I have 2 cases with my Exit variables
Case 1: If my input date is 29/02/2004(leap year) then previous year should display 28/02/2003 which i have done.
Case2: If my input date is 28/02/2005 then previous year should display 29/02/2004(leap year) which has to done.
So pls throw light on Case2.... Suvarna pls elaborate your reply.

Hi Shahina,
1. Create formula variable var1 from to date using replacement path.
2. Create another formula variable var2 for current date using customer exit or you can use standard
formula variable for current date
3. Create calculate key figure ckf using var1 & var2.
ckf = var1 - var2.

I think you should first implement the user-exit via the transaction SMOD/CMOD and the SAP-Enhancement RSR00001 User-Exit ( BW Reporting )
For the concrete implementation I would suggest to encapsulate the variables, as it is described here

How to make BEX Customer Exit Variable inactive through Customer Exit Code

Hi,
I had created two variables VAR1 and VAR2 as Customer Exit variables
If VAR1 is entered then it should automatically make the VAR2 as NO Entry Variable.
vice versa also required.
can u help me with any code in CMOD so that we can make it inactive through Customer Exit Code.

EX : If value in VAR1 is entered then VAR2 should become automatically inactive.

I have created a Customer Exit variable to findout no. of days in the month.
But I dont know how to assign that variable to a Keyfigure value. Can you please let me know how to assign it.

Hi Sankar,
From what I could understand, you want to display the output of that key figure for some no. of days of a month (calculated in your customer exit variable)...right ???
If that is the case then you can create a structure in columns. Create a new selection...include your key figure and that customer exit variable in it.
That shall serve the purpose.

How to change a customer exit variable in columns

Hallo Experts,
i have a query with two columns. In the first column is a customer exit variable, who get filled with the actual calyear. In the second column is the same variable with an offset -1.
When i execute the query, in the first column i can see the year 2007 and in the second column i can see 2006. That´s ok.
Now i want to change the year (dynamically) in a filter 2007 in 2005. The result should be in the first column 2005 and in the second column 2004.
What can i do?

As I understand the scenario, you have two RKF or selections in column 1 and 2, one is restricted with variable ZYear, the other with the same variable, offset - 1 and variable ZYear provides current year.
I think there is no way to change years dynamically in a filter, but you could solve the issue by refreshing the query and overwrite default value provided by customer exit.
To achieve this, please change variable and check 'Ready for input' in change dialog..
If this shouldn't work, please let me know details a variable definition and customer exit.

How to handle flat file with variable delimiters in the file sender adapter

Hi friends,
I have some flat files in the ftp server and hope to poll them into XI, but before processing in XI, I hope to do some content conversion in the file sender adapter, according to the general solution, I just need to specify the field names, field seperator, end seperator, etc. But the questions is:
The fileds in the test data may have different amount of delimiters (,), for example:
ORD01,,,Z4XS,6100001746,,,,,2,1
OBJ01,,,,,,,,,,4,3
Some fileds only have 1 ',' as the delimiter, but some of them have multiple ','.
How can I handle it in the content conversion?

You defined the column as a DATE, which is correct, but you're trying to insert VARCHAR2 values, such as '01-FEB-1980' into that column.
Use TO_DATE to convert a VARCHAR2 into a DATE:
insert into DATE_OF_BIRTH (birth_date)
values ( TO_DATE ('01-FEB-1980', 'DD-MON'YYYY'));or use DATE literals:
insert into DATE_OF_BIRTH (birth_date)
values ( DATE '1980-02-01);The same goes for queries.

I read from official SAP document that customer exit variable are supported within WebI query.
I created an universe based on a query bex. In this query I use a variable exit for 0calmonth2.
Within the WebI universe I don't see any variable.

I havethe same issue, even though I place the user exit variable in Filter section, its not working as expected in WEBI/crystal.
the variable that i have created will assign default value as sysdate.its working fine BW.
Are there any extra settings at BEX/BW level which have to be set before using user/sap exit variables in webi/crystal?
How should the user/customer exit variables be defined in order to get them carried properly to webi or crystal, I mean what should be the properties set for these variables?

Leap Year Exception in Exit Variable

Hello Experts,
                       I have a Customer exit variable(ZVAR_PREVIOUS_MONTH) which displays data for previous month of input date. When i am entering 02/29/2008(which is a leap year) as input then the variable throws an error saying "Value "20070229" for user exit varaible is invalid. And thats true since 2007 is not a leap year. So how can i handle this Leap Year Exception

Your description doesn't make sense. If you input 2008, why is the error showing 2007? Could you post your code here so we can have a look?
I think you are trying to implement the exit such that if you supply 02/29/2008, the variable should resolve to 01/01/2008 - 01/31/2008. Is that correct?

WAD - How do I hide Exit Variables from the variable listings?

If i'm using an InfoField control to display the user input variables on top of my web template, how do i hide the user exit variables?
I simply want to show the variables available to the user as 'Ready for Input' at runtime. However all of the user exit variables appear as well.

individual basis. Use caution when using cookies to hold session
variables. As noted in serveral livedoc information articles, "If client disables
cookies in the browser, client variables do not work".

Hello haritha,
SAP Exit and Customer Exit variables are created for Characteristics and not for individual InfoProviders.
So whenever the characteristic is used in the InfoProvider, by selection the appropriate variable the exit can be called.
So the same Exit can be in one or more InfoProviders.
