How to handle repeat managed-property in faces-config.xml?

Hi guys,
My configuration is like below:

          <property-name>rootCategoryId</property-name>
          <value>#{param.rootCategoryId}</value>
        </managed-property>
    </managed-bean> as u see, all the managed-bean-class contain the same child managed-property. So is there anyway I can shortern this ? Thanks in advance !

  • How to specify multiple message bundles in faces-config.xml

    Hi
    I have different properties file which I want to use as message bundle.
    Message.properties
    Help.properties
    When I specify this in faces-config.xml
    <application>
    <message-bundle>/Message</message-bundle>
    <message-bundle>/Help</message-bundle>
    </application>
    and now when I try to use that in my jsp page like this
    <f:loadBundle basename="/Message" var="message"/>
    <f:loadBundle basename="/Help" var="help"/>
    and access any messagestring from those files I can not excess either of them. But when I use only one of them it works fine.
    Am I doing something wrong or I can not do this thing at all??
    Thanks in advance.

    I only specify one properties file in the <application> tag. That one is used for system messages. I have other properties files for labels, and another for just standard app text, so in my faces-config.xml I have something like this:
    <application>
    <message-bundle>message</message-bundle>
    <locale-config>
    <default-locale>en</default-locale>
    </locale-config>
    </application>
    where my message.properties is used for system messages (validation, etc).
    I don't list the other property files there. I have two more that I use, labels_en.properties, and standard_en.properties. Labels are words that have a : at the end or a *: for required fields. Standard are just other words that I use in my application. So on every page that I have, I start out with the following header:
    <html>
    <f:view locale="en_US">
    <head>
    <f:loadBundle basename="label" var="label"/>
    <f:loadBundle basename="standard" var="standard"/>
    <title>

  • Setting a converter property from faces-config.xml

    According to web-facesconfig_1_1.dtd you could assign a value to a converter
    property, e.g.:
    <converter>
    <converter-id>date_time</converter-id>
    <converter-class>javax.faces.convert.DateTimeConverter</converter-class>
    <property>
    <property-name>pattern</property-name>
    <property-class>java.lang.String</property-class>
    <default-value>dd.MM.yyyy hh:mm:ss</default-value>
    </property>
    </converter>
    This simply isn't implemented, and I haven't found it reported anywhere!
    I'm really surprised! I even look at the source code of the RI and it seems
    that the property tags are parsed by the xml digester, but then are ignored when adding the converter to the application!
    Any one has a clue?

    Today I downloaded tomahawk-examples-1.1.5-bin. (http://myfaces.apache.org/download.html). They have one example with tiles, and it works the way I want it to.
    I'm still trying to figure it out what is causing this behaviour.
    At least, I tried to change the value they're using for linkage between <to-view-id> and tiles definition, and found that JSF is still ignoring the real value in <to-view-id>
    : it was originally 'blah.jsp', but 'blah' or 'blah.tiles' worked the same way, while in tiles definition the corresponding name was always blah.tiles.
    It seems that they are looking into tiles definitions first with the key composed of the first part of the value in <to-view-id> (before the dot) concatenated with hardcoded '.faces'.
    I tried to change the key value in both config files to something like 'blah.ttt', and it did not work.
    I'm not sure at the moment if this would be a problem for me, I may use this framework, knowing the limitations.
    Also, I'll look into the code, if this may be altered and at what cost.
    Still, the basic jsf problem with always interpreting the value in <to-view-id> as blah.jsp remains.

    Since i am a beginner even i dont know the exact reason to answer you for why am i using JSP with Facelets.Kindly provide me the suggestion and valuable information you have so that i can learn.
    Apart from this i want to know whether the way provided in that faces-config.xml is possible or do we have a way to make that possible???

  • Read faces-config.xml in the runtime

    I coding a new phaselistener in my app...
    I need to list all managed-beans inside faces-config.xml and the classes...
    Exists way to get this information without parse manually faces-config.xml ?
    The API has way ?

    No.
    Good practice is to extend or implement all backing beans one superbean, for example BaseBean, and then in the phaselistener do something like:if (someFoundObject instanceof BaseBean) {
        // it's a managed bean instance.
    }

  • Question on "How to Handle Inv management Scenarios in BW" docuemnt.

    Hi all,
    I read the document "How to Handle inventory management scenarios in BW" and I did not understood what a snapshot scenario is?  Can anyone tell me what is the difference between snapshop and non-cumulative scenario's.
    thanks,
    Sabrina.

    In a non-cumulative scenario the current stock of any day (or month) is not stored physically in the cube. Instead the stock values over time is calculated dynamically at query runtime by the BW OLAP engine, which basically derives the stock by summing up the periodic value changes (cumulative inflow and outflow of the non-cumulative key figure), which are stored in the cube (together with a so called stock marker used as the basis of the calclation).
    In the snapshot scenario the current stock of any month is calculated in a snapshot ODS and then loaded to a cube. This means that the the stock value is physically stored in the cube in an ordinary cumulative key figure.
    Since a non-cumulative cube store value changes and not the actual stock this means that performance might be bad if there are many value changes for each characteristic combination in a month (since the stock is calculated at runtime and many records must be processed to derive the stock). So in this case the snapshot scenario is better since no runtime calculations of the stock need to occur  and since only one record, containing the actual stock value will be stored in each month for each characteristic combination having a stock value.
    I think you would be better of with an example, but with this explanation in mind looking at the scenarios in the How to again might clarify things...

  • How to Handle Automatic Skip Property of Item in Oracle Forms through Custom.pll or from other methods

    Hi All,
    How to Handle Automatic Skip Property of Item in Oracle Forms through Custom.pll or from other methods.
    This is a enhancement requirement.
    When ever user enter value in field 1 then automatically cursor should go to next field.

    Hello Bobb,
    You can create a trigger(when-list-changed) for each list item where you could:
    1.recreate the record groups and then use POPULATE_LIST so you can hide the selected values. In forms builder online help there are some good examples about create record groups dynamically.
    or
    2.you can perform a validation instead of hiding the selected values. If the values is already selected the display a message 'Value already selected....'
    Second option is much faster(only an 'if clause')
    Hope this helps.

  • How to handle power managment features of Windows Vista

    Hi guys
    I searched a little bit in the Toshiba Technical Knowledge Base and found very interesting article about the power management features of Windows Vista.
    *[How to handle power management features of Windows Vista|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD84026Q0000R01.htm]*
    The point is that you will not find a same Toshiba Power Saver tool on Vista like on the Windows XP notebooks and the power saver settings are a little bit hidden in the Vista Power Saver settings.
    But you can also control the certain options like Cooling Method or Power Saving Mode.
    I think this document could be interesting for some here in the forum!

  • The Managed Bean in the faces-config.xml File

    I am still very new to JSF. I am confused about the managed bean.
    For example, I have a button in my web page. A click on this button invokes an action; say, ListAction.java.
    In this ListAction class, I instantiate a business delegate; say, ListPersonnel.java and call a method in this business delegate to return an ArrayList: personnel. Of course, this business delegate goes through facade, DAO, etc. to populate the ArrayList. This ArrayList is a collecation of a JavaBean called PersonnelBean that gets and sets a number of personnel information; such as ssn, name, etc.
    Upon this ArrayList is successfully populated and received by the ListAction class, I am going to display a web page with a table. In JSF, it is <h:dataTable ...>.
    My questions are regarding the managed bean in the faces-config.xml file.
    1. Which one is my <managed-bean-class>? packageName.ListAction? or packageName.PersonnelBean? or something else?
    2. What should be my <managed-bean-name>? I guess that I can give a name I like. Is it right? What about xyz?
    3. Then, how do I specify the "value" attribute of my <h:dataTable ...> tag when I display a web page to show the data table? Is it correct to specify value="#{xyz.personnel}"? What is the correct specification if it is wrong?
    4. I guess that I can give any name to the "var" attribute in the <h:dataTable ...> tag. Is it right?

    1. Which one is my <managed-bean-class>?

    value="#{xyz.personnel}"? What is the correct
    specification if it is wrong?xyz.personnel is OK assuming that ListAction class has a public
    method getPersonnel() which returns the ArrayList of PersonnellBeans.
    4. I guess that I can give any name to the "var"
    attribute in the <h:dataTable ...> tag. Is it right?Yes, you can give any name you like.

  • Managed bean in both adfc-config.xml and faces-config.xml file

    hi,
    i can see that it's possible to declare managed bean in both adfc-config.xml and faces-config.xml file.
    is there any difference? which one is recommended?
    read here - http://www.jaypillai.com/tag/adf/
    but still not clear.
    thanks.

    Hi.
    As you know ADF is a framework based on JSF.
    In faces-config.xml you define general application manage beans. It offers you define manage beans for all application using JSF default scopes (application, session, request).
    In adfc-config.xml you define general application manage beans using ADF Scopes. It means that you can use JSF default ones including "view, pageFlow and backing".
    My recommendation is use only one point entry for your general manage beans. Use adfc-config.xml because allow you to use more scopes.
    Regards.

    this message
    com.sun.faces.config.ConfigurationException: CONFIGURATION FAILED! Class com.sun.faces.config.processor.AbstractConfigProcessor can not access a member of class irc.izv.view.handle.MyNavigationHandler with modifiers "public"
    That your implementation doesn't work as the framework can't access one of the member classes. So it finds it well - your code just doesn't work

  • Localization of adf faces-config.xml

    I have defined my ADF process train component and menu items in my faces-config.xml. The definition has got the label for these components in the faces-config.xml How can I localize these labels so that I can support multiple languages. The managed bean for my process train component is

    <value>guide.customerinfo</value>
    </managed-property>
    </managed-bean>
    I would like to know how to get the Customer Information label from a properties file instead of hardcoding it in the faces-config.xml

    Hi Frank
    Thanks for your response. I understand that we need to use different locales but for this to work all the labels need to be parameterized to the properties file. This is straight forward when it comes to labels in the JSP pages where we load the bundle with
    <f:loadBundle basename="myBundle.myBundle" var="sampleBundle"> and refer to a property as <f:commandButton value="#{sampleBundle.myButtonText}"/> my problem is how to do this when the label I want to parameterize is in the faces-config.xml
