How to Handling XML footnote which have attributes

Hi all,
I searched in this forum related to XML footnote discussion. Still I need more clarification/discussion related to this process.
I need maximum input and suggestion related to this topic to streamline our process.
Our projects have around minimum 50 to 900 footnotes for each chapters, our client requirement is XML-IN workflow.
The problem here is all our footnotes have attributes, like "url", "xref for Ibid" etc.

As we know that when we convert XML footnote to Indesign autofootnote, we will lost all the attributes.
Till enumerator I can store it in TextStream itself "<note id="law-9780199691654-note-003001" type="footnote"><enumerator>1</enumerator>.
Once I convert it to auto footnote, I lost rest of the attributes, when I export to XML I am just getting the text (eg. "Ibid")
Please share your thoughts/suggestion (how can we store the attributes let it be in any form).
If I change my workflow to 2 text stream process.
Two text frames, one for Text and the other for Footnote. can we automate the process.

You cannot apply xml tag for the idesign's footnote. Indesign will not allow you tag it. File a feature request for this. I think somebody did it already, google it.
If you want xml tags along with, you have to use individual text frames for the footnotes,

Parse XML document which have xlink/xpointer inside

dear friends,
There are lots of topic talking about parse xml, validating xml with schema and so on, but no one or any book talking about parsing xml document which can parse document with link inside.
According to Mr Meggison at http://www.megginson.com/Background/
we can do it, but he is not expert with this thing.
For example I have 3 XML document. My main XML document, let named it A.XML have XPointer inside and this element pointing to B.XML and C.XML using xpointer. how to parse A.XML and in the same time my SAX recognized this XPointer and parse also element inside B.XML and C.XML.
I am really grateull for any helpful information from you.

I think you need to look for a SAX or DOM parser that undestands XPointers and knows how to follow them to additional content.
I have used XSLT and specified external documents to it. It knows how to read a document and in effect make a nodeset which can be searched with the XPath capabilities of XSLT.
It sounds like you wnat an <include file="xxx"/> capability and have the parser stop reading the current file, and start reading the second file.
That works in Schemas, but I'm unaware of any way to do it with SAX or DOM in one pass.
It would not be too hard to process the first file, say with DOM.
After the Document is built, go find the <include> elements, read get the attribute needed, build a new Document and merge it into the original Document in place of the <include> element.
Is this more what you want to do?

As far as i know there are no content conversion methodology for HTTPS as the recevier adapter.

How to handle xml CDATA string element when OSB calling a webservice

Right, I'm new to OSB so bear with me.
The following is a response from am operation in a webservice.
As you can see there is a CDATA string in "<m:return>" element. I want to transform the CDATA string to XML.
I have searched the forum and found a couple of similar queries and tried following the answers and this is what I'm getting.
Please advise as to where I have gone wrong and how I can correct it.

How to handle user preference which has "_" and " " in the name

Hi Experts,
I have a question how to handle value which has like "_" and "space" etc in user preference.
If setting "a_b-c d", I could not retrieve this because it's escaped in database.
So this code can't get value even though I can set it.
Is there any restriction of name? Is there any documentation how to code user prefernece which has non alphabet and number in the name?
I know it's possible to handle the data like adding escaped data. But I don't think this is the best way to retrieve the data. Because nobody confirm it's not problem in the future.
Could you tell me the best way to get these user preference?

Plumtree recommends that user preference names have only alphanumeric characters in them (a-z, A-Z, 0-9). Any non-alphanumeric characters will be encoded by the EDK.
I strongly suggest that you change your user pref name to something that's alphanumeric. However, if that is not possible, you can use the following workaround: in the web service editor, enter the encoded name for the user pref. There are several ways to get the encoded name.
One way is to encode the pref manually, yourself. Plumtree uses the %u encoded format: each non alphanumeric character is converted into %uxxxx, where xxxx is the Unicode representation of the character. For all ASCII characters, just look at the ASCII hex chart. For example, character "-" has a hex value of 2d. So, a preference name "jane_pref" would be encoded to "jane%u002dpref", and you'd enter the latter value on the preferences page in the web service editor.
The other way to find out the encoded value is to set a preference programmatically and use the HTTP tunnel tool to look at HTTP traffic between the portal server and remote server. The remote server will be sending a HTTP header to the portal server (the header name will probably be CSP-User-Pref) and inside the header you should see the pref name, encoded with %u. Just copy it out of there and into the web service editor.

Now, I am creating a script for Illustrator CS4, CS5, CC2014 with Japanese version in Windows.
I wish to find items which have Crop Marks Effect (which is created by Effect > Crop Marks) by Javascript or VBScript.
Is it possible?

It looks like the crop marks are part of the "visibleBounds" of the object. So if you compare the visibleBounds to the geometricBounds you should see a stable difference of 54.5pt
Test this out on some variations. Quick testing shows that it looks viable.

How to handle RunTime Faults which doesn't list under System Faults?

I have a doubt regarding runtime faults in BPEL 1.1.In BPEL 1.1 some of the run time faults are categorised as system faults.So we can handle those run time faults
using the faultname or namespace(http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension) of system fault itself.But 'SublanguageExecutionFault' is a run time fault which doesn't list under system faults.
So what namespace it belongs to?Can we use the same namespace of system fault for this kind of runtime faults ?
Are any other runtime faults existing which don't have the same namespace of sytem faults?So how can we identify and handle those run time faults?

You can create a role menu as remote enabled remote menu.
The authority checks will happen on the remote side, also against objects which don't exist in the calling system as the music is on the other side.
On the RFC client system side, you only need the parameter transaction to start the remote transaction in the remote system.

This is however a rather antiquated technology... it is more popular to use a SAP Portal or webdynpro applications for this sort of thing (the user does not notice the difference) or later versions of such integration such as Fiori UIs or imbedded links within the Business Client.
I don't want to lean out the window too far, but the buggy phase of these new things is approaching an end and they are usable if you are on newer releases. Then you can pool the menu and use APIs for navigation and no more irritating S_TCODE checks.

How to dial telephone numbers which have letters instead of digits?

I'm new to Blackberry products & just bought a 8330 curve. Unlike my other smartphones which had the option of a dial key pad, the Curve appears to have forgotten to include one. When a telephone number is spelled out with letters instead of digits, how do I dial it? For example: for my pharmacy refills I would dial 1-123-345-DRUG or when calling a company after hours and reach its automated answer system which prompts you to key-in the party that you are looking for their last 4 letters of their name. How do you do it. Help.

You can enter the alpha chacratars using the alt shift for nummerics.
For example: 1-800-(alt-shift) -IFlYSWA
The same applys when you are asked for alpha characters as in your example
of search by person's name.

How to clear only blocks which have values

Is there anyone knows how to clear data from blocks which only have values ? so the idea, i dont have to create any new block by using something like set a block to be #MI ?

The CLEARDATA command clears a well-defined section of a database's cells and changes the values of those cells to #MISSING values. This command is useful when you need to clear existing data values before loading new values into a database. CLEARDATA can only clear a section of a database. It cannot clear the entire database.

Hi there,
There is no standrd table that will display all the serial num that are sold in a given time.
You can write an ABAP query / report for this. In the report, you can code in such a way that if you give the validity dates, it should give all the deliveries that are created within that period & serial num of serialized products in those deliveries. This is because serial num are assigned only of the item that is serialized. Non-serialized items willnot have serial num.
For this, you will have to 1st extract all the entries in LIKP for a specific sales org / plant / shipping point within that period. Then you will have to extract LIPS values of those deliveries. Then you will have to pick up only serialized items from the list.
Ask you ABAPer to check if it is possible to develop this kind of a query / report.

Yes. Are you using jsdk1.4? If true then look at the XPathAPI.
I wrote a package for working with XML vocabularies. If you are interested on it, here is an example that uses amic-util.jar to find nodes with the id-user attribute:
