How to identify a drag source?

If I have 2 draggable JLists and one draggable JTree and I want to drag from all of them to a dropable field - how do I identify which was the drag source once a Drop has happened?

Hi ,I have similar problem...but bit different..I Have a Child window which has splitpane having one tree and one list. I do drag from tree and drop in list. it works fine..But the list should not allow drags from Main window. It should allow drags from only from child window's tree. This is my requirement...So how can i Know whether the drag came from child window tree or Main window....any suggestions pls?..

How to identify the original source folder of files in the trash?

I am trying to help a friend who trashed a massive amount of files. Dragging files out of the trash to where they originated from works when one knows where files in the trash came from. What I need to know is how to find out which folder the files originated from. Pictures from iPhoto library, easy ... but there are others that are a mystery.
Any help is appreciated.

The only way anyone here could possibly tell where files came from would first have a list of the files with the exact file names. The files themselves don’t carry information of any previous paths, that I know of.
With the photos, as you said, easy. If they are applications, again, easy, Applications folder. But if they are System files, those can be scattered all over.
You said it is a massive number of files, so unless the vast majority are photos or applications, it would probably not be practical to make a list.

Identify Drag and Drop Drag Source

I know this is not the way the Drag and Drop works, but I am wondering if there is a way to identify which drag source was dragged to the target.
My scenario:
I want to allow the user to drag a character from the waiting room to the registration desk, and to know which character was dragged, then I will use that information to ask appropriate questions to the user regarding registration, based on the character. So I will have numerous characters, all draggable to the same target.
I don't see any indication that Captivate gives me this information, that is, which drag source was just dragged to the target.
I know I could just ask the user to click on a character, but I want to do something a little more interesting.

Each drag action can be used to trigger an advanced action. You can use that action to populate a variable, perhaps with the name of the character. And based on that information you can achieve your goal.

Check the datasources from which the data is coming to the ODS.Take the technical name of the data source.Check in Infosources Tab.There you can find in which infosources the ODS is present.

How to create a drag outline while using custom drag source.

I am creating a plugin using sdk for cs2 in windows. I need to create a text frame on the document when I drag a text widget from a panel. I am using a custom drag source controller for the same and not dragsource as I am performing more requirements. This does not create a drag outline region. There is a method called 'DoMakeDragOutlineRegion' in the Basicdragdrop example provided in sdk. But it does not draw any outline. Is there something missed out in this example or do I need to add anything more to this existing code? Any help would be appreciated.

The BasicDragDrop example is misleading and as you found leaves out the interesting parts. E.g. that drop feedback drawing which is of course not factorised for reuse. Good news though, you should only need to go that far for own flavors (e.g. drop a color from color panel).
Unless you give more details on those "requirements" you better make the best out of a target flavor helper.
If you need custom drawing, search the SDK for keywords like ISprite, ITracker, HitTest ...

Always mention your JDev version.
As Timo mentioned, it would be easier for you if you use a treeTable. Any specific reasons why you don't want to use it? If you want to do it through iterator, you could also use a grid layout (depends on your JDev version) to make it look like a grid.

As you know, there is always some level of RF interference all around us. When it comes to mitigating RF interference if it becomes a real issue with clients not being able to work wirelessly, one needs to look at the type of business environment they are running, what type of businesses are around them and what sort of devices are being used in their environment itself to aid in troubleshooting. If you have cisco prime, you can easily check the duty cycle to get a good idea what type of jammer it might be. If you have 3600 APs, you can use the Cisco Spectrum Expert within Prime to launch Spectrum analyzer on that specific AP to see what is happening as well. In WLC you can take a look at clean air and interference devices to see what sort of interferers the APs are seeing. Hope this helps.

Well you can do exactly the same with a folder of photos, just put in the Users/Shared folder.
Iphoto is a mite more complex than this. It's a database and so there's a bit more involved.
For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:
What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
(You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.

2 possible approaches:
1. Source language: Every program is initially created with source language = logon language. Sored in TRDIR-RLOAD.
2. Try to read program texts in specific language (DE).
    READ TEXTPOOL pv_repid INTO lt_textpool LANGUAGE 'D'.
    IF sy-subrc                           = 0.
      MESSAGE s000(R1)
        WITH 'German texts present in' pv_repid '' ''.
    ELSE.

Hi, I am using SSIS 2008 R2 in which my excel file is the source for data. I am using the "Excel Source" transformation. For the normal data feed and all it is working fine.
There is a requirement the data in the excel sheets are not static. For example think like, data may start from A1 Cell next it may be B1 or B2 and next time E1 or F2 like that. How to identify in which Cell the data is there to load to DB?
Kindly tell me whatever the possibilites are there ....

The mapping of SSIS packages cannot be modified at run time based on the input. Instead , you may consider to bring all the columns from excel into a staging table and figure out from where the data starts. Then load the destination table. If not
you need to think of creating the ssis package itself dynamically using .Net code based on the excel metadata.

i have activated the standard datasource in r/3 ? and i have replicated the same in the bw system and in the source system of r/3 i have replicated it and i can find the data source there ? but how to identify whether the datasource is active in the bw system or not ?
i cant see a tick mark on the data source does it determine it is active?
