Caching is provided OOTB by ATG repository but if you can want to use third party cache solution there is an provision to configure repository to use third party caching.

Hi,
Is there a way to implement Cache-Aside pattern in Coherence. ?!We use cache aside in the following way:
At startup ALL data ftom a database is loaded to a near cache (with unlimited non evicting back tear). All updates in the application then goes to both the cache and in our case TWO databases (one for the new system (the one we are loading from) and one belonging to our legacy environment (a hierarchical database!) that will be phased out over several years time) using XA transactions.
The new database is only used for loading the cache and for persistence. The legacy database is only updated by this XA-transaction but is also read by a bunch of legacy applications. Our application is extremly read heavy (like three orders of magnitude difference) so the relativly poor performance of XA is not a problem.
We use the cache to not only speed/scale out reads (that are helped by both the front and back cache) but also queries (that are handled by the back cache rier). Since the back cache tier contains all data our query results will be "complete" (i.e. give the same result as if answered by any of the databases) and we can therefore off-lload the databases significantly and that way postpone the point where they becomes a scalability bottleneck (we also dramatically reduce the number of CPUs and licenses for the database saving a lot of moiney).
We can not use "write though" in this case since this results in a bulk update to be partitioned into several database transactions (performed by the various back cache nodes) that may suceed or fail individually (due to database contraints checks) of each other and that is not acceptable in this case (a bulk update must either completly fail or succeed). Nor can we use "read through" (with load on demand) since we need to keep trhe full data base content in the cache - if we did not we would need to send queries to the database instead of the cache loosing the performance / scalability improvement that we need.
Now one can of course say that this is not a "normal cache" scenario since we load ALL data to the "back cache" but I anyhow wanted to mention it as one case where "cache aside" makes sense (or at least it worked for us) :-)

"Cache content: You should never dynamically regenerate content that doesn't
change between requests. You can cache content on the client-side, proxy-
side,or server-side. "
Now I am working on a project. For every user, some of the content servlet generated will be the same for at least a week . I am thinking if I implement caching for these jsp pages, that would increase performace a lot.
But I have no idea how to implement it either client-side or server-side, can someone give me a hint ?

The data gets cached the first time somebody visits the page.
Find some examples on Filters, and take a look at the HttpServletResponseWrapper class. You need to cache response headers as well as the body. Another pitfall that you might run into is handling an If-modified-since header on the request. Don't cache the results of those requests.

How to disable cache implementation in 8.1 SP6 for entity beans
In our production environment, we want to disable cache implementation for entity beans. We are using weblogic 8.1 SP6.
Weblogic cache implementation has been causing many cachefull exceptions so we want that it fetches the data from database everytime instead of cache.Check the "max-beans-in-cache" setting in your weblogic-ejb-jar.xml. The cache full exception, means that a new bean could not be created because of this cache being full.
Nothing to do with fetching from the database directly.
If you really want direct fetches then do not use beans at all. Consider using direct JDCB/SQL calls (without a entity bean) to fetch huge data.
Let's again review your application based on the below explanation before making a decision on which configuration change to perform:
If you truly have many ejbs simultaneously enrolled in transactions, then yes, the cache must be big enough to hold all the instances.
Your cache must have a max size large enough to handle your peak simultaneous transaction load.
Also, try to ask the following query to your application developer. Does every user actually have to have more than one bean in the cache ? Are many of these values read-only reference values that are not updated ?
SOLUTION CHOICE:
1. If you are testing with more number of users simultaneously, then you will need to increase the "max-beans-in-cache" setting in your weblogic-ejb-jar.xml to match the load.
2. If you have few users but still seeing a lot of beans, then consult with your application developer and try to ask the above questions (Does every user have more than......) and based on that try to redesign/tune your application to make it an effective Entity bean model.
3. If you have queries where huge result sets are returned, consider using plain/direct JDB/SQL calls.

On this page, many documents (category and title ) are displayed for download.
I want to implement Auto Suggest Widget in order to find the document easier and to jump to it (href="#document_xy") directly for download.
I don't have a clue on how to implement the Auto Suggest Widget.
The ASP sample works with XML File.

I am sorry to ask again. I am not at all familiar with xml.
I have tried to modify the ASP script you've suggested, but I get strange XML error, which doesn't make sense to me.
I understand that with the script the server creates an XML File on the fly. First I have to connect to my access database, then I fill the records into a recordset object. And then the server loops through the RS and creates the xml file. Is that correct?
The error message I get, points to a complete different place in the code, to a javascript module, which is working perfectly without below code.
Any suggestions where the bug is?

Dear all,
Our head-office are currently have 1 Cisco CPE 3825 router with 2 WAN connections to our branches. We are now using static routing protocol in our network infrastructure, we consider how to implement the redundancy for networks by the redundant circuits connection to 2 MPLS providers, only when the primary connection to the primary MPLS L3 provider fail, the backup link to the second MPLS Layer 2 provider automatically active. Anybody knows where can I find information, tips or examples, how we'd handle the routing for that?
We are now have:
1 G0/1 interface connect to primary MPLS L3 Provider (the 2nd G0/2 interface is a leased-line connection to our partner, and we not consider here)
1 HWIC (layer 2) card, with 4 ports, which has interface F0/2/3 connected to the backup MPLS Layer 2 provider.

Because of our customer now has 2 main central offices, and all other sub branches are now connected to each of these main central office via one primary full-meshed MPLS VPN of 1st Service Provider, so If I use the float static routes, and when there is a failure at one link at a CENTRAL CE Router to primary link to primary MPLS VPN Service Provider, but still there is no failure at the other site from a router CE sub branch with the the PE of the primary full-meshed MPLS VPN Layer 3 Service Provider,so It cannot cause a failover to a second redundant link of the 2nd Service Provider?
So with our system, do we only have one solution like this:
-Configure BGP as the routing protocol between the CE and the PE routers.
-Use local preference and Multi Exit Discriminator (MED) when running BGP inside a our customer VPN to select the primary and backup links.
-Use AS-override feature to support overlapping AS numbers between customer sites -

The point I think was to ensure that you knew exactly what was required. A customer service desk can have many interpretations from a BI perspective.
You could have :
1. Operational reports - calls attended per shift , Average number of calls per person , Seasonality in the calls coming in etc
2. Analytic views - Utilization of resources , Average call time and trending , customer satisfaction , average wait time
3. Strategic - Call volumes corresponding to campaigns etc , Employee churn and related call times
Based on these you would then have to construct your models which would be populated by data from the MySQL instance for you to report.
Else if you have BWA you could have data discovery instead or if you have HANA - you could do even more and if you have a HANA sidecar - you technically dont need BW. The possibilities are virtually endless - it depends on how you want to drive it and how the end user ( client ) sees value in the same. -

If you want to add your own button then if you extend the standard Forms button in Java and then use this class name in the implementation class property then the Java for your button will be used instead of the standard Forms button. And since it has extended the basic Forms button it has all the standard button functionality.
