How to kill datapump jobs?
hi all,
i tried to export data using expdp. i read somewhere that using expdp creates a background process so that even if i turn off my client machine, it won't stop the export.
problem is i need to stop the expdp process. how do i kill it?
when i query the database using
select *
from DBA_DATAPUMP_JOBS;
the jobs are still there with a value of NOT RUNNING in the STATE column. i think the jobs are already done in this case but how do i remove them from the list? also how do i kill a currently running datapump job?
any suggestions?
thanks
hi,
thanks for the link. although, i was not able to find a way on how to delete the records showing in my dba_datapump_jobs view.
unfortunately i'm not in the expdp> prompt anymore since i turned my machine off. is there a way to get back there?
here's the record in the dba_datapump_jobs
OWNER_NAME JOB_NAME OPERATION JOB_MODE STATE DEGREE ATTACHED DATAPUMP
SYSTEM SYS_IMPORT_FULL_01 IMPORT FULL NOT RUNNING 0 0 0
TIME_OWNER_QA IMPTIME IMPORT FULL NOT RUNNING 0 0 0
thanks

hi All,
can someone wxplain me how to kill a job in SM37 which is delaed by 10,000 secs.
cheersHi Rase,
goto SM37 and click on the active selection and enter the jobname and then click excute the particulr job should appear highlight the jobname then click on the stop iconthat appears on the taskbar( 3 rd from left)
or goto SM50 Click on the process and select process->stop without core
or
set a running infopack of the chain (in RSMO) to red, thats will stop the chain (if there are no parallels, else set all parallels to red).

Hi all,
I'm having problems with my 10.2.0.3 Enterprise Oracle version to kill some old jobs. These were datapump jobs.
I've all these jobs when I query the dba_datapump_jobs:

If I try to drop it, I've this error:

dbajugHi Fran,
Yes I tried it.
These jobs doesn't appears on mgmt_job table:
SYS@SPA3> select job_id, job_name, job_owner from sysman.mgmt_job where job_owner = 'SYSTEM';
no rows selected
But yes if I make a query over dba_datapump_jobs:
SELECT owner_name, job_name, operation, job_mode, state, attached_sessions
FROM dba_datapump_jobs WHERE job_name NOT LIKE 'BIN$%' ORDER BY 1,2;
OWNER_NAME JOB_NAME OPERATION JOB_MODE STATE ATTACHED_SESSIONS

I found many DMxx processes (Coordinates the Data Pump job tasks performed by Data Pump worker processes and handles client interactions) but I can't kill the sessions or OS processes.
How could I kill all these datapump jobs?

Hi,
I have EPMA 11.1.1.3 and after making some changes in account and location dimensions i started deploying the app.It was initialed at around 6pm..i informed by client that it usaully takes aroung 6 and half hours to complete the deployment but after 8 hours i checked the Job its still it was going on and it might have hung up at 6%..Main thing all the changes have been reflectd in Hyperion Planning...So my question is how to kill this job running on?
Thanks in advance.
PranavSo my question is how to kill this job running on?^^^I thought I was going to hear "Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure" EPMA can be Alien-like.
it usaully takes aroung 6 and half hours to complete the deployment but after 8 hours ^^^Really? That's amazing. I suspect you are forcing a dense restructure this time so that might be part of the issue. Has the Essbase restructure happened yet?
I would be unbelievably suspicious/completely unaccepting of any metadata build that took 6 hours. There has to be a better way.

How can I change default OEM DataPump job?
Greetings,
I have successfully created a DataPump job to run out of OEM GC by choosing the target database I wish to export, then under the Data Movement tab selecting the Export to Export Files option. I then create the DataPump job and it runs successfully.
Now I would like to add the parameter REUSE_DUMPFILES=Y to the job but am not able to find an option in OEM allowing me to add this parameter. Is this possible and if so can someone explain to me how to do it.
Thanks.
Bill WagmanBill,
I don't see a way to do that. For sure, not in the UI while creating the "Export to Export Files". The only place you may be able to do this is add it to the command line for the job, as follows:
expdp scott/tiger directory=dir dumpfile=scott.dmp logfile=scott.log tables=emp REUSE_DUMPFILES=Y
Doesn the creation of the job save the job and the commands in the job library?
I would create a job in EM that does an OS command vs creating a job on the DB job queue and that way, you can ose the above.
let me know.
Thanks -
Hi Experts,
I would like to ask on how to kill a background job in SAP? I have tried to cancel it via sm50, sm37, dpmon, and even the kill -9 command but none of those commands can solve the issue still the job is running.
Can you guide me on how to deal to such issue and if you know a command on how to kill that particular job.
Hoping for your immediate response.Hi,
I think you may not have proper authorization to kill the job.
You can kill the job through SM50 as follows.
SM50 -> Choose the background job -> click Process -> and then click Cancel without core.
If the job is still not getting killed you can ask your basis person to kill it.

How to kill a process chain in an intermediate step...?
How to kill a process chain in an intermediate step...?
I have tried doing it using SM37... but still the chain is hanging....
Please help ASAP...
Regards
SnehaHi Sneha,
If its a loading process then:
1. Go to monitor & make its overall status RED.
2. Go to the target & make the QM status RED.
3. Since its loading data to BW, its R/3 will be active even if you make any status RED in BW.
4. Cancel its corresponding R/3 job. U'll get its R/3 job from monitor>Header tab>Job name. Copy that job name& go to R/3 side>sm37>in Job name add B*followed by the job name copied & then delete the Active job.
Once this is done then your loading process will anyhow stop further stopping the Process chian.
If your job is other than loading, then simply go to that process chain & remove the link between the active process nad the next process after cancelling the active job (as mentioned in the various replies for your question).
Give some time to update the staus of that cancelled job in Db, because even if you cancel any active job, it requires some time to refresh it updated status. Once it is cancelled you can rejoin the link between the proceses and reactivate & schedule your process chain.
hope it'll help -
hi,
I have question how to kill the process chain during running.
thank you.Hi
If the process chain is running in background,
goto SM37
Give * in the jobname
Give the username who scheduled the process chain
Job status - check the check boxes - SCHED, relased, ready, active
click execute.
It displays all the process chains that, scheduled & running.
You can select the process chain that need to be stopped & click STOP active job or ctrl+F1.
Hope this helps!
Kindly award points for all useful answers.
If you post the BW related queries in the BI general forum, you will get more answers.

Oracle dba datapump job low space
my server has 10gb free space ,but datapump job requires 100gb how can i export with export
With plain old unix compression I'm getting about 80% compression on my exports.
Another idea is to use the FILESIZE parameter to limit files to something less than available space, then move the file while expdp stalls with the out of space error. I've never tried that, so I don't know if it works. It's usually easier for me to move other stuff around to make space first, or use original exp into a pipe.
