How to load/populate warehouse w/o OEM/OMS?
During the install of OWB, Oracle enterprise manager and Oracle management server are listed as being optional. I have verified, generated, deployed and run my scripts but then it comes to a halt because the next step is to register the .tcl file with OEM. Can anyone explain how I can load/populate the warehouse without having to use OEM/OMS?
What version of Warehouse Builder are you using?

How the loading time populate in a standard dilivery
Hi
I got an issue in which I have to find out that one delivery does not having the loading time .
I want to know how the loading time and date is being populated.
Please reply ASAP.
thanks in Advance
GauravHi,
if You have no results in "Where is used" list, then it is called dynamically
- problably information about this is stored in a database (somewhere...).
I suggest following steps:
1. Put breakpoint with Your user id in PAI module (if You know / are able to guess t-code which uses it).
If You get debugger screen - check the call stack
2. In PAI module write few instructions to store t-code, report, etc. (or just whole SYST structure) in Z-table.
After some time check if the screen exit was called and from which transaction.
3. You can also store in PAI module whole call stack in Z-table using SYSTEM_CALLSTACK function module.

How to load time dimension informatica...
Hi, im new to datawarehouse... Can anybody tell me,how to load time dimension informatica...
Thanks and Regards,
jagadish.Do you mean Informatica, the ETL tool? If you do then I would post your question on the Informatica website as we typically use Oracle Warehouse Builder and Analytic Workspace Manager here at Oracle.
If you want to know hoe to generate a time dimension table, then I would recommend using the Time Dimension Wizard in Warehouse Builder as this will automatically create the target dimension table and populate all the required levels with the correct data values. There is more information on the OWB OTN Home Page

How to load a Hierarchy after a change in the R/3 system?
Hi All,
We have a hierarchy in BW hat we extract from R/3. But now they have added two new nodes to the hierarchical structure which is not being reflected in the BW version of the hierarchy. Can you tell me how to load into BW the latest version of the R/3 hierarchy with those two new nodes??
Thanks Much for any Input,
ReddyHi Reddy,
If you have modified just the function module to populate the hierarchy in R/3 then the hierarchies should load fine on BW. However if you have changed the datasource and there is a datasource(active) in the transport request in R/3 then you would need to replicate the datasource in BW and then load the hierarchy. Hope it helps.

How to load stocks for the months prior to initialization ?
Hello,
We load a cube stock from 3 ODS for BF,BX and UM extractors.
We are in a monthly snapshot scenario(we have read the specific how to but we must use 3 ODS one for each datasource because of data integrity (strong customer architecture contrainst).
For opening stock and the future month the solution is ok.
How to load the data for the 12 month prior the loading of opening stock ?
Specific datasources, full loading ?
Thanks to share our experiences
Best regards
Christopheyour previous months closing stock becomes opening stock for current month. Try the infostructure S039,this holds the closing stock of each month. You can populate this infostructure with program rmbs039. create a generic data source on this and populate opening and closing stock for each month.

Step- by- Step on How to Load Excel data into Crystal Reports?
Hi Friends,
Can anyone send me a Step- by- Step on How to Load Excel data into Crystal Reports? Pls help me. Thanks in Advance.
VijayIt's also important to 'prep' the excel file prior to connecting to it.
Give the data tab a meaningful name
Make sure the column headers are unique and that every column has a header
Delete any blank tabs
If you have trouble with Excel changing the data type of a field (say, a social security number you want to be a string value rather than a number so you don't lose leading zero) an alternative would be to save the spreadsheet file as a CSV, create a schema.ini to specify the data types for each column (example below) and use the same steps to connect except instead of choosing Excel 8.0, scroll to the bottom and choose Text. You have to make sure the CSV file is in the same folder as the schema.ini file that defines the columns.
Schema.ini example:
200912PUSD.csv
ColNameHeader=True
Format=CSVDelimited
MaxScanRows=25
CharacterSet=OEM
Col1=SSN Char Width 9
Col2=LAST_NM Char Width 25
Col3=FIRST_NM Char Width 25
Col4=DOB Date
Col5=STDNT_ID Char Width 10
Col6=SORTKEY Char Width 10
Col7=SCHOOL_NM Char Width 30
Col8=OTHER_ID Integer
Col9=GRADE Char Width 2
The filename in the first line needs to have the [] brackets around it, but I couldn't get it to display in this forum correctly.

Batch Load / Populate BPS User_defined Variables?
Is it possible to load/populate a user-defined variable via an ABAP program or other method?
I have a variable used in BPS which contains all of the customers for a specific user. It is very tedious to load them in three at a time using the variable screen for the planning level.
Thank you for your answers.
AndyAndy,
Use this step-by-step procedure to meet your needs.

How to load DataBlock based on the Multiple Condition from another block
Hi
How to load a Data Block based on the Multiple values from another block. For eg.EMP is the Master Data block and SAL is the child Datablock.When query JOS% in the Master Block(EMP) then display all the Sal details in the SAL block for all the employees starting with JOS , When clicking one buton or if it is possible in the loadin of the MasterBlockHi,
I presume you are using database block relations.
Put automatic query = yes in relation properties.
Do you have block level trigger ON-POPULATE-DETAILS?
In that you can find the relation and query - Using built-ins
Find_Relation and Query_Master_Details -
How to load images from BLOB to javascript?
hi, Guys:
I need to load thumbnail images from BLOB to multiple markers' infowindow in Google map . I have implemented Google map in APEX. I load the data suchas text for every marker's infowindow from Oracle database table with PL/JSON, and infowindow works fine. Could anyone give me a suggestion or example so I know how to load images to javascript?
Thanks a lot.
Database: Oracle 11g R2
APEX: APEX 4.1
Thanks.

hi, VC:
Thanks for your kind reply. I need to render these images out of APEX session, actually in javascript that is related to Google map markers' infowindow.
I checked the documents of APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC, but my impression is I need to use it in APEX instead of javascript if my understanding is correct. I already implemented a procedure with PL/SQL to load images from a BLOB column in Oracle database. But the problem is, how can I pass it to javascript code out of APEX to javascript (I could pass text or number from APEX to javascript with PL/JSON though,But I assume that still google map will be within a valid apex session? if so you should be able to use the above api.
Basically what this api does is generates a kind of url to each blob in the database, not sure how google api's deal with this though. Why don't you give it a try?
The other option is to make your pl/sql procedure public and then you can generate the json to include the images urls such as:
"employees" : [{
"firstName" : "John",
"lastName" : "Doe",
"imgSrc" : "http://somewhere/db_schema.your_download_proc?p_file=#ID#",
"firstName" : "Anna",
"lastName" : "Smith"
"imgSrc" : "http://somewhere/db_schema.your_download_proc?p_file=#ID#",
"firstName" : "Peter",
"lastName" : "Jones"
"imgSrc" : "http://somewhere/db_schema.your_download_proc?p_file=#ID#",
}And then you can use this new attribute to populate the images in javascript using standard img tag
See this tutorial http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e13363/up_dn_files.htm
I did not find any method in PL/JSON to pass image object)? So far I only found example to load images from local files to javascript.Hmm..I don't think you should load image objects.

How to load master data and hierarchies from R/3 systems
HI all,
how to load master data and hierarchies from R/3 systems.
Please explain the steps.
Thanks,
cheta.HI,
Its normally done following: Transferring the master datasources in RSA5 to RSA6 and then replicating the DS into BW and assignment of DS to Infosource and cretaion of Infopackage and load it into the master tables.
Generally, the control parameters for data transfer from a source system are maintained in extractor
customizing. In extractor customizing, you can access the corresponding source system in the source
system tree of the SAP BW Administrator Workbench by using the context menu.
To display or change the settings for data transfer at source system level, choose Business
Information Warehouse → General Settings → Maintaining Control Parameters for Data Transfer.
Note: The values for the data transfer are not hard limitations. It depends on the DataSource if these
limits can be followed.
In the SAP BW Scheduler, you can determine the control parameters for data transfer for individual
DataSources. You can determine the size of the data packet, the number of parallel processes for
data transfer and the frequency with which the status IDocs are sent, for every possible update
method for a DataSource.
To do so, choose Scheduler → DataSource → Default Settings for Data transfer.
In this way you can, for example, update transaction data in larger data packets in the PSA. If you
want to update master data in dialog mode, smaller packets ensure faster processing.
Hope this info helps.

*** Question How to load a file into BI-Integrated Planning and use WAD 7.0
Hi, I created an manual DTP upload to my planning infocube and it works fine. The transformation rules convert 0CALMONTH into the relevant Calendar and Fiscal characteristics. So all of my Time Characteristics are fine, both Calendar and Fiscal.
However, When using the "How to load a file into BI-Integrated Planning and use WAD 7.0" solution, only the Calendar Characteristics are populated and not the Fiscal. The upload application somehow knows to populate the 0CALMONTH2, 0CALQUART1, 0CALQUARTER, and 0CALYEAR.
How can I get the upload to populate my Fiscal Period Characteristics?
Would it be best to modify the "Upload Application, or can I write a planning function to update the fiscal characteristics, or some other way?
Thanks!My planning data is being uploaded via the SDN Planning File Upload Solution. What I did was end up modifiying the upload class ZCL_RSPLF_FILE_UPLOAD Method EXECUTE.
I added the following code if anyone is interested.

Any SB Audigy 2 ZS owners out there know how to load Synth A &
Any SB Audigy 2 ZS?owners out there know how to load Synth A & B ?
Mine is a OEM Version (for [url="http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?p=2960574#">HP[/url]) I got used for $40, didn't know it was until I had trouble installing driver,s but that's now resolved. Mine is model SB0359 but tag says Audigy 2 ZS and SB0350, but without MIDI port and 394 port. A real A2ZS is SB0350. 24/96 recording and playback.
Everything is working great, 2 ms latency recording on some quick testing.
BUT the Soundbank Manager doesn't seem to want to load any SF2 into Synth A or B , so I can use them in my sequencer (JAZZ++) for playback, and REAPER for recording (eventually). I don't want to be locked into the default [url="http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?p=2960574#">Windows[/url] GM sounds. At least in REAPER, I can use a VST approach and connect a SF, but I only want MIDI for Drums and maybe some Pads, in spots. I do have a MIDI bassline, but that will be re-done with real bass guitar.
Maybe because I don't have a physical MIDI port on the OEM version, the program isn't functiing properly (guess)
Is there another way to load the Synths ? Manual scripts ... via INI ?johnnymegabyte wrote:

REAPER:
As it's an OEM card, it's possible that MIDI features are ripped. Have you tried by installing nati've software by tweaking the installer?
You find the original CD and instructions on how to patch the installed by searching here using "BadBoy" for CD and "ctcomp" for patching (as for an example).
- on Options/Preferences/Audio/MIDI Devices, select synths A/B
- create new track
- on track I/O config, set MIDI Hardware output to Audigy Synth A or B and on Audio Hardware outputs, add a new one as stereo Left/Right
- on track Monitoring options, enablethe monitoring
- set the SF bank (Do not use big ones but those bundled ones beford getting everything working ... there are some size limitations)
Remember also that drums are on MIDI channel 0.
Hope this helps you to start ... (I don't have SoundFont Bank Manager installed so I can't try if this works).

Uregnt - How to Load Flat File into BW-BPS using Web Browser
Hello,
We have followed the 'How to Load Flat File into BW-BPS using Web Browser' guide to build BSP web front-end to upload flat file. Everything works great but we have a requirement to populate the Planning Area Variables based on BSP drop down list with values. Does anyone know how to do this? We have the BSP coded with drop down list all we need to do now is populate variables. We can populate the variables through the planning level (hardcoded) but we need to populate them through the web interface.
Thanks,
GaryHello Gary,
We have acheived the desired result by not too a clean method but it works for us.
What we have done is, we have the link to load file in a page where the variables can be input. The user would then have the option to choose the link to load a file for the layout in that page.
By entering the variable values in the page, we are able to read the variables for the file input directly in the load program.
Maybe this approach might help.
