How to manage coherence stand-alone servers

I have some qustions about the management of coherence stand alone servers:
1) Is there a command to stop in a controlled way a server? (now we kill the server process )
2) Is there a way to monitor the server execution in order to catch problems or errors

server? (now we kill the server process )This is one way to do it. I also think you can use JMX to call CacheFactory.shutdown() (i.e. graceful) prior to killing the JVM.

order to catch problems or errorsWhat errors are you seeing? Really you should not see any at the Cache Server level.
Take a look a the new Coherence Management Framework (JMX) included in the Coherence 3.0 pre-release.

That is to say, project manager excute the project in the customer site after contracting their customer project.

I believe the cProjects (PPM5.0) is the SAP solution provided for the such type of project management requirements only. You can use cProjects as standalone Project management solution, wherein you can plan, execute and monitor your projects from remote locatuons (customer site). You can use cProjects by using NWBC on HTML and / or Enterprise portal (EP). Please read for SAP Help and other SAP PPM 5.0 reference documents to get more details about how it will fit in your requirement.

Stand alone servers

Hi All
We have a weird situation and I think you guys can help me out.
I created two stand alone Managed server called ABC1 and ABC2 on a single domain. Where Admin and ABC1 is on one linux box and ABC2 is on other linux box.
Now my client want to deploy a single version of .ear application on both of the server. I know I can deploy the .ear one by one on both ABC1 and ABC2 through console.
But the concern we have is that is it feasible? I mean I think if i deploy the same .ear on two stand alone server then its going to failed because of conflict between jndi an all other resources.
Can any one help me out...

I am very Sorry for my Unclear statement. I will explain it again in another way.
We cannot Deploy exactly Same Application on two Different Servers...*From Admin Console<font color=red> One by One </font>(Means First time deployed and targeted to MS1 ...then again deploying the same app to Target MS2)*. In that case If we want to deploy the Same Application on two Non Clustered ManagedServers through AdminConsole...then We can do it At Once only(In a Single Turn...Later we can need to Just Add the New Targets Managed Servers to this application)...It Means While Deploying the Application we need to Choose MS1 & MS2 Both the Targets together. Now Suppose in future if you want to deploy the Same Application from AdminConsole to Third Managed Server ...then In that case you Add that ManagedServer as a New Target to the Application.
But Using ANT Build Script or Using WLST we can do it easily....Means Same Application can be deployed as many servers ...One by One as well as Together to all the independent Managed Servers at Once as well.
Regarding JNDI tree ....Yes Faisal's statement is very correct that..every Server has it's Own JNDI tree....Your Application should not cause any JNDI Conflicts there.

Turns out that when my iPod Touch was restored, the restrictions had been turned ON for Facebook and several other apps. This is what was preventing the Facebook app from accessing my Camera Roll for picture downloads. This is odd since all of my iPod backups would not have had those settings turned on. This is also the first time this has occurred given the few times I've had to restore my iPod Touch.
Anyway if you experience the same behavior from your iPod or iPhone with iOS 8.0.2, just go to the General settings and review your settings under Restrictions. Once you set them to allow for changes, you should be back in business.

Reports server: cannot start stand-alone servers

I have 9iAS 9.0.2.0.1 on RedHat Linux AS. When I try to create/start a new reports server (using rwserver.sh), I get "REP-50001: Server is initializing", but it never starts. My in-process server works, but I can't create any additional servers.
I've made the changes suggested in MetaLink Doc ID 214310.1. But, I still cannot start a stand-alone server.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The problem was with vncserver. Once I started it with
"vncserver :15 -nolisten local -httpd ${VNC}/classes -cc 3", it started up.

How to call a stand alone java application from ADF BC JSP, struts or JSF

Hi,
My requirement is that there are utilities or stand alone java applications that I want to call from our existing applications.
We have two seperate applications one ADF BC Struts application we developed using JDeveloper 10.1.2 and another ADF BC JSF application we developed using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.
We want to integrate applications like JTwain and others to help us in scanning. The application will be placed on the same server as our application. How can I do this without loosing all the current session information.

There are two possible solutions.
First, if the tool or application you want to integrate, has an Java-API you can use this api and integrate the tool in your application (using one or more jars you add to the classpath).
Second, if the tool has no java api, you can call the tool via runtime.exec(...) as a shell process. This way you open a command shell in you application and execute the tool like you do on a normal command shell.
For tide integration and control I recommend the first approach. The second one is only for those tools which don't offer a java api.

How do I create stand alone smaller?

All,
I need to be able to store in Stand Alone mode in a web
folder. Unfortunately, I cannot use HTML as I can only store one
file per folder. Therefore, I "think" Stand Alone is the only
deployment option. My 5 minute full motion (it needs to be)
software simulation is now 22 Meg. A heafty load considering I need
to be able to create probably 25 more of the same length.
What am I missing?

How to add a stand alone table from Physical layer to Business Model

Hi,
I have tables from 2 different database sources in my Physical Layer.
My Business model currently uses only tables from one database. from my second database in teh physical layer I need only one table and that will be a stand alone table, to my Presentation layer.
1. Does it have to go through my Business layer or can it be directly added to the Presentation layer. What are the steps?
2. Can I restrict the permissions on that stand alone table only to the administrator?

1)create a view with single column using the sql (select 1 from dual) in physical layer and join it with the table using complex join in physical layer (1=1).
Move that to BMM, set the column as key in both physical and bmm layer.
2) You can restrict the access for the table presentation layer
Double click the presentation layer table -> Permission -> there you can restrict the access by user or group

How to create a stand alone app with Jdeveloper?

Hi,
I have a created an application with JDeveloper using the ADF framework. It's a simple frontend to some database tables giving the user the possibility to create and update records.
Is it possible to create a stand-alone application from JDeveloper without having to install any application server? I have tried to follow the documentation but somehow I only find descriptions of web enabled applications.
That's not what I want. I want a (windows) application that can 'talk' to the database. Would be great to have just a .jar file to deploy to the users computer.
Is this possible with JDeveloper? Or am I totally wrong?

You don't need an OC4J.
You just need to make sure the ADF libraries you are using are on the classpath of your application. (Your default JAR won't contain them).
Have a look at the command line that JDeveloper uses to run your project (it is in the log file) - copy paste this into a command line and you should be able to run your code from outside JDeveloper.

How to make a stand alone app?

I have played aroung with Java fore the last eighteen months or so. I feel a lot more comfortable with it than I used to, and as my confidence grows I am trying to come up with real life situations where my programming could help. Nothing to ambitious but just little apps that other people could use (probably non-programmers at that).
Up to now I have wrote applets that run in browsers, which serve their purpose, but because of the security restrictions applets have limitations. I have wrote apps and run them from either a DOS prompt or from JPadPro. What I have got used to with the internet downloading little apps that once installed I can simply double click on the desk-top icon and away we go. I was wondering whether java has anything like that to offer? I believe that the Java Web Start is to do with this sort of matter, but everytime I open it my P.C. crashes.
I am looking for a way to present my apps so that non technical people would use. Any advice would be received gratefully, Dave.

You can buy programs which will turn your .class file into a .exe file, but the key word is buy. I have yet to find a free one that dosn't put some disclamer up when you run your program. I personally prefer using an excecutable jar to run my stand alone apps. It still requires the JRE to be installed on the client PC but you can just include that with your program and have the user install it on thier PC if they don't already have it on there. For information on making an executable jar, you should search the forums, I remeber seeing a user made tutorial in there somewhere that was very helpful to me. This site also has some tutorials on doing it as well, but somethings in it are not so clear. Good Luck.

Multiple stand alone servers using one radius server?

Hello, I have a question.
I'm working for a company and our problem is we need a username and password for every server.
We would like to set up a Radius server using an extension so it can use a SQL database for the users.
Is it possible to put 1 username and 1 password for each user in this database so we don't need more then one for each server?
Also can we set up policy's for those users so they can't access every stand-alone server.

Based on my research, when a RADIUS client (access server) sends connection requests and accounting messages to a RADIUS server, the RADIUS server will sends back an Access-Accept message or sends back an Access-Reject message to authenticate and authorize
the connection requests based on a set of rules and the information in the user account database. The Access-Accept message can contain connection restrictions that are implemented by the access server for the duration of the connection.
In addition, according to your description, it seems that you used the SQL database as the User account database. Did you use NPS as a RADIUS server? If yes, maybe you can configure related network policy to restrict access. I would appreciate it if you can

Probably yes. It is possible to write a lunch application. But what considerations do I have to take. Let's say, Since Forte for Java 4 does not use CLASSPATH environment variable, How do I tell the JRE where my classes are located? I tried running
javaw c:\directory\classname.class
...but I receive a message saying that the main class was not found...

How can I publish a stand-alone file with Captivate 8?

I have just downloaded the new Captivate 8, but I an not sure how to publish a stand-alone, interactive file now. In previous versions, one could publish an .exe file that didn't require a browser to work. In the new version, there appears to be two options: HTML 5/SWF or video. The video option publishes a .mp4. Is there still a way to publish a .exe?

Frankly I am a little tired of Adobe stonewalling on the issue of removing exe and dmg publication facility from Adobe Captivate 8. What a load of flimsy excuses from Adobe!!!! In Cap 7 I exported to exe and dog all the time and I truly miss this facility. Why does Adobe remove a perfectly good facility when upgrading?
It all makes me believe that Captivate 8 was rushed out without much thought other than to get a 'not working correctly' responsive design bit built in. Did they not think about customer research?
And so, I've just paid over £300 to upgrade to a version of Captivate (8) I won't be using much. This disgusts me and I am sure I am not alone.
And yes, why is Captivate not part of Creative Cloud? I ask this question and I have asked it before. Adobe will NEVER answer this question.

Smartview 11.1.2 and Stand Alone Essbase

Hi,
I am migrating some applications for a client and they are interested in using Smartview 11.1.2.
Currently, they are using the add in with their 9.2 environment and I just migrated all their apps to essbase 11.1.2 which is pretty slick. I installed the add in for 11.1.2 and that is working fine.
However, I know there is an interest in going to planning so they wanted to set up smart view as well. They don't use shared services but use native security in essbase. So when I am trying to establish the URL connection in Smartview 11.1.2 I am not able to connect to the shared service provider. These are the URL's i tried with both a shared and a private connection to attempt to connect to stand alone essbase in smartview 11.1.2:

http:server:13080/aps/smartview
http:server:19000/workspace/SmartViewProviders
I didn't think the workspace URL would work since they aren't using worksapce. Any ideas on how to connect to stand alone, no shared service essbase for smartview using 11.1.2?

In private connections type http:server:13080/aps/SmartView. The url is case sensitive you had http:server:13080/aps/smartview.
While on the topic, two points that I would like to mention:
1- I don't believe Essbase 11.1.2 still has native security but I will have to confirm.
2- Workspace gets installed by default in 11.1.2 and http:server:19000/workspace/SmartViewProviders is the right url to use for shared connections.

Lightroom stand-alone licensing problem

I've been using Lightroom 5.6 on a trial basis for a couple of weeks and I want to go ahead and purchase a stand-alone license. So I downloaded the "full" version of LR from Adobe and started it up (no problems reading my existing LR catalogue). Then I get the "Welcome to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom" dialog. Two options: "I have a serial number and want to license Lightroom" or "I want to try". So I select the first option, then underneath it says "Need a serial number?" with a "Buy" button. At the bottom under "Country/Region" I select "Canada" where I'm from. When I click on "Buy" my browser opens. For just two seconds a screen appears at the URL http://www.adobe.com/store_selector/storeselector.html, where it looks like I'm supposed to identify my country/region again. But immediately the browser is redirected to the Product Catalog (http://www.adobe.com/ca/products/catalog.html). But here there is no option to buy a stand alone license. If I click on the Lightroom link it just takes me to the general product info page, with no option to buy except from Creative Cloud (which I don't want).
Anyone know how to buy a stand-alone license for Lightroom?
